Memories Jibacoa: Nice Resort
This was our first time to Cuba. We chose this resort because it was literally half way between Varadero and Havana and we really wanted to take a day trip to Havana. The resort is older and looks a little dated, but it was really kept up well. Actual keys for the rooms (no swipe card), a good buffet (don't go too late or most stuff will be gone), and a nice beach (lots of chairs and shade - no need to go early to "reserve" a chair). The staff were very friendly and helpful. We did the hike [... read more]
Starfish Varadero: Amazing Vacation!
I visited Starfish Varadero May 18th to the 25th with my husband, mom and 2 children. We had a truly amazing time. it was our 2nd time visiting the resort. The workers make this place great. Ronaldo greated us everyday at the restaurant and Livan was always a pleasure when making omelettes in the morning! The kids had a blast. Always things to do on the resort. Shows were fantastic! Our room was good , stayed in a bungalow and it was very spacious. The food was good - just very repetitive. A [... read more]
Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Awesome wedding

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Nice resort
Rooms really close to beach, very nice beach !! Grounds and pools well kept ..resort rooms could definitely be upgraded a bit outdated..food not so great but found some things tolerable enough to eat.friendly staff.enjoyed the outdoor area off main entrance..plenty of nighttime things to do..getting extra things brought to room ie extra toilet paper ,water..seemed to never be a priority when asking.would be written down but that would be as far as it went..with that being said it was overall a ni [... read more]
Starfish Varadero: Resort under construction!!!
The resort overall was great other than the food. The majority of the buffet was cold! Everything else was very enjoyable, just important to note that a lot of the resort is under construction. Good overall and would recommend for a relaxing vacation
Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: terrible resort & experience
- the lobby is so small and not rain protected. it was flooded most of the time and the floor was extremely slippery. same goes for buffet... slippery. Kids fell down a few times likely for us nothing major. if anything serious, that would have been dramatic as this resort is not equipped to provide first aid. - cockroaches where everywhere, buffet and restaurants. You see them. We were in the restaurant when the next table next to us got cockroach in soup. We walked out immediately. [... read more]

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Good resort
We've been to Cuba multiple times. The resort itself in comparison to other 4 and 1/2 stars is very modern. My only complaint would be that the type of Resort is cater to seniors as opposed to a younger group. The Disco there is not worth stepping into LOL. The food there was just okay after while it does get boring. The beach was terrible they did not take care of the sand and there's a lot of seaweed in that area.
Melia Las Antillas: Good value
The resort was nice. There is one pool and there was lots of seating and cabanas so we were able to have shade when needed. There is a bar right by the pool, and there were some activities each day by the pool. The beach was very nice. There is a bar close enough to the beach to make it easy to get a drink - but I would recommend bringing your own refillable cup. The service was okay, all the staff are friendly with the exception of the woman who books the a la carte. The food was fair, we could [... read more]

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Conflicted: some good, some bad
The beaches were out of this world, honestly felt like a postcard. The drinks were outstanding. And some of the staff I.e Luis were incredible at their jobs. Other staff members...not the greatest. The lifeguards didn’t seem to take their jobs seriously and one was in the ocean making out with a woman while on duty for about 30 mins. Highly unprofessional. The room had a humid/mold smell, and the pillows were very thin. I asked for extra pillows that never came. It was however, very clean [... read more]
Iberostar Selection Varadero: Fantastic Resort
We loved this resort!!! The food & staff were fantastic we would recommend it The customer service was exceptional, cleaning staff were great Always friendly and helpful anywhere in the resort always a smile We will go back in the near future
Resonance Blu Varadero: Memories
The hotel grounds was nice, beautiful beaches and great tours. The food was not good. But I think this is a common theme. The cleaning staff (the attendant) we had was excellent. Very creative in making images with the towels and covers. The Canadian exchange is horrible. All around, Cuba is a beautiful island that has alot of history and kind people. Cuba should utilize more resources to make their food edible.
Hotel Los Cactus: Constructive comment
Resort could use some updating. But the big negative is the food-not great and recycled most of the time. Not much selection on fruits and not good quality. Waiters though are nice. Most of the time we go for grilled meat as we’re confident that’s it’s freshly cooked however the cook behind the grill are not very accommodating.
Starfish Jibacoa: Family resort
Lovely beach but in May there are biting insects so take repellent. Buffet is small and poorly laid out. There isn't much room and when I was there people kept butting in line and grabbing food. There were many flies on the food as well. The dining room was often very cold. Bungalows are the better choice for a room. The maid service we had was excellent. Wifi is available for a cost and you need to give a deposit of 10 cuc for a beach towel. We found that the lobby bar was better than the pool [... read more]
Melia Marina Varadero: Disappointed
Thanks to Felicia to arrange the studio apartment at a higher level, quiet and facing the marina....just loved the apartment. Only comment about the apartment is when, towards the end of our 10 day stay, on several nights, the sheets not completely dried, in fact, quite damp which led me to sleep on the sofa..... Having been at Melia Marina several times, we were disappointed about the food compared to previous visits. One of the local Cubans mentioned that food rationing has been a concern e [... read more]
Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: our april getaway
we stayed at the Paradisus Princesa Del Mar from April18 to April 25th and had a wonderful week. We upgraded to the royal service and very glad we did. The staff are super friendly especially our favorite ladies at the pool bar Kassandra, Anna Rai and Marlen ...we so enjoyed seeing you ladies every day. Also Felix at the towel exchange ...he is so nice . we were heading to the beach and my hubby broke his sunglasses so Felix being a sweetheart told my hubby to use his glasses( you go above and b [... read more]
Iberostar Selection Varadero: Absolutely phenomenal vacation!
This was our second stay at Iberostar Varadero. It was exceptional! Staff is wonderful, very friendly, and extremely helpful. Our room was incredible, very close to everything. Our chambermaid was absolutely stellar, she took requests and made my kids swans (since she knew how much they loved birds). Even the gardener made my son a bird out of leaves. The pools were amazing, the beach exceptional. We've been to Cuba many times and this resort is by far our favourite. Additionally, my spouse and [... read more]
Starfish Varadero: Pretty good for the price!
The resort was worth the amount of money i spent for it! The room was spacious, although there was a leak in the ceiling. It wasn’t a big issue! The beach was absolutely amazing, we spent all our time there! The pool was average, there needs to be more shade. The food was better than expected!
Barcelo Solymar: Less than average
Front Desk Receptionists are ruthless. They are not helpful at all and very rude. Bars stop serving before closing time. I have been to all inclusive resorts in Rivera Maya, Mexico and Cayo Co Co, Cuba and have received way better service.
