Paradise Playa Dorada: Recommendable

Overall , the place is safe . Friendly , helpful, approachable , caring staff.Reasonable time to respond to issues. Food are good . The place is accessible to tourist spots. Beach is beautiful. We have a relaxing week. Thanks for the mall within the resort.

Blue Bay Villas Doradas: very good resort

food was great, even better in a la card restaurants, witch is not always the case. it is the first time we spent more time at the sandy beech then the pool, was great. the only one thing, if you like crowdy, lots of people place? it is not for you

Lifestyle Tropical Beach Resort: Had a great time

We had a great time on our trip to the Lifestyles Tropical Beach Resort. We found the resort to be huge and were a little disappointment to find all of the children activities at the Cofresi side of the resort. We had to take a shuttle to the better kids pool and activities. We found that some areas were beautifully upgraded and others were not. It was not consistent, but understand that it is a work in progress. Some of the staff were very pushy to have guests sign up for a membership, we felt  [... read more]hounded some days. With that said, we did receive a decent welcome gift when listening to their presentation. On another note our son had a great time and never complained, so that is the most important aspect for us. He never wanted to leave the pool! The water temperatures were great and loved the modern look of the caves and waterfalls. If were to go back we would book on the Lifestyle Cofresi side because of our little one.

Blue Bay Villas Doradas: Great Place for the value

I loved the hotel and the grounds, the welcome was very nice. They give you a cold towel to use and some ice tea. this was a nice touch. I been to DR several times and i find this hotel very nice and cozy. The food was great and the service was excellent! i would go back. the only problem i had was with housekeeping, they cleaned my room only 1 time in 4 days even when i requested it they did not come to clean. otherwise this place is great!!!

Casa Marina Sosua Trademark by Wyndham All Inclusive: 2.5 star resort

Well to start you should not sell this resort from June to Sept it is invaded with local Dominicans and was not at all impress. I had to fight to change our room to what we paid for,Ocean View Superior. I had to change rooms 3 times ( A/C did not work. Last room was acceptable and staff was A+. We did not sleep at night all week because of loud loud Dominican parties.....had to get security to shut them down. Food was passable when there was ....This hotel should only cater to locals......Way to [... read more] loud and stressful for vacationers. Been to the D.R 7 times this was the worst ....Viva Punta Cana!

Casa Marina Sosua Trademark by Wyndham All Inclusive: a must see trip

This is a very nice hotel. Options for meals were much better than a typical 3 star location and other than slightly slow service I would rate the food as good as all inclusive restaurants get. The beach is excellent and another nice beach was close by and a pleasant walk. Entertainment is a bit pricey in the form of day trips to Puerto Plata etc, but I chose to relax in the resort and did not feel like I missed anything. Leaving the resort at night is not the safest move unless in company of se [... read more]veral people, but i felt fine during the day. Actually great value for the money.

Bad time of year to go to the resort it was full of locals and they were noisy and loud and eating all the food:( but everything else was amazing!! Clean!! Good food!! Ps. They take the air conditioning off between 10-4 am it sucks!!! Didnt like that

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Great Vacation!

Second visit to this lovely smaller resort. Staff are very helpful and always happy to help. We were in the Catalina building on first floor with a view of ocean which was a nice surprise. A/C worked well, always hot water for showers. Room was clean but beds and pillows aren't the best. Also, very little storage for clothing. Beach was nice. Peddlars but if you say "no thanks" they leave you alone. Beach restaurant had fantastic chicken and chicken wings at lunch. Buffett was good with lots of [... read more] choices... Picky eaters with me found food good as well. A few times there were no tables set/cleaned up to eat at . Be prepared for influx of Dominican locals on wknd. We knew it would be busy and they can be lvery loud and pushy. We booked a daytrip for Saturday to avoid the chaos and hing out at quiet pool on Sunday until checkout. Overall a great little resort that tries hard and for the price an excellent bargain for a week of R&R in the sun.

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: We had a wonderful time overall!

Booked this trip of 3 to this resort unknowing of what to expect but with relatively cheaper price we had to go for it. The trip went very well as I have been to Iberostar resort in the Caribbean I wasn't disappointed in spite of it's relatively smaller size. The food, the friendly staff, the well kept clear grounds, a nice well-looked after Gmy, and the clean specious rooms makes it a great resort.to stay at. The only 2 things th [... read more]at dented what would have been almost a perfect vacation were check-in which took for ever as the rooms were not ready until 4:30 when we arrived at the resort at 1:45pm and the normal check-in is 3pm. They kept promising that the rooms would be ready in 20 minutes until we gave up. And the wifi prices are a total reap off, $25 for 5 days is unacceptable in this age. Otherwise we had a wonderful experience and we would think twice to return sometime in the future.

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: what a holiday!!

beautiful, clean, great food!! What really made this fantastic trip were the staff at the VH Gran Vantana.. from the hotel staff ( lounge bartenders- Domenic, Antonia,, beach bartender Aquilno..) staff at the buffet, room cleaners all amazing!

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Ok

Staff was very good here, especially animation team. Resort is very pretty and picturesque, room are older, but kept very clean. Food was typical all inclusive. Breakfast was the best, lunch very limited, a la cartes decent. If you go on a weekend, which we did, it is you and hundreds of locals. You can't get near the swim up bar, and if you do, good luck being served. Also any games or events, same thing, taken over by locals, and your lucky to get involved. Also mostly everything was done in s [... read more]panish, so big language barrier if you wanted to understand things. The other problem was the 3 cockroaches (one ran out from makeup bag in bathroom) we saw during out stay, so being paranoid we left everything outside upon our return. Bit of an inconvenience. I will say the staff is great at make you a part of most things, so that would be the biggest positive here. If you go, I would avoid the overcrowded weekends. This is our second trip in 6 months booked with trip central, and we have been very pleased using their service. Have recommended them to many friends, and will definitely use for next booking.

Casa Marina Sosua Trademark by Wyndham All Inclusive: Good value for your money

On arrival we got a dirty room and after complain we were transfered to a much cleaner room facing the beach. The grounds are gorgeous. There are two beaches and the large one seems to be calmer. The food was good with a decent selection of fruits. The entertainment was not always entertaining. There are 3 pools, but one was closed. The large pool was really nice.

Sunscape Puerto Plata: So-so in low season

This was our second visit to Barcelo. Staff were accommodating and as friendly as our stay in 2013, however, the resort is in need of an overall sprucing up. We upgrade to the premium (adult only) section which allowed some children for whatever reason, and the poolside service, cleanliness of loungers can be improved upon. This was not an issue in 2013 Low season should not equate to lesser amenities, lesser food choices. The cost of our vacation wasn't less because we traveled in early June. O [... read more]ur room was cleaned thoroughly each day. The buffet offered less variety and much repetition however the service at the beach buffet was great and dishes prepared fresh on request. Beach vendors were a major annoyance and interruptive. Overall, it was a pleasant vacation, but we would not recommend low season.

Riu Merengue: not great

airconditioner leaked quick fix patio door lock broke no fix toilet would not flush properly if at all bearing in exhaust fan squeal not fix .2daythen got the screamers lasted until I was home for 2 days. good way to lose 12 lbs.flight on time both way for a change also we got a up grade to a suite this were all the fun occured

Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: it was our first time and we were very impressed

excellent our room was clean and well prepared at all times.the cleaning crew were amazing.our washroom had some problems but was taken care of immediately the food was great but being vegetarians gave us a limited choice which is understandable .

At first our room's aircon was not working, we went to the reception and right away they did something and eventually moved us to a better room, the following day we asked them to move our children's room close to where they moved us, there was hassle with our request, they accommodated us without any questions. The place is very nice for just to relax, room were clean and bed are very comfortable,. the only negative thing that I can say is that during the weekend a lot of locals checked in, the [... read more]y were loud and very don't care, left disposable glass along the swimming pool areas, other than this everything else is very good and we truly enjoyed our vacation in this resort.

Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: Excellent value

The food was excellent, the service in our room excellent, bar and restaurant service okay. The grounds, pool and overall resort a little aged but okay. Transfers, checkin-out on par with most resorts.

First time here and first time at an all inclusive for me...what a time!!! Four of us went for a week and we were a bit worried after reading some of the reviews but we had an awesome time! The staff is OUTSTANDING...OUTSTANDING! Check in was easy and we were ready to hit the beach. The vendors are also ready for you but if you just say No Thanks they aren`t too bad...it wasn`t very busy there at this time of the year so the vendors were a little more hungry for business but never unpleasant and [... read more] after a day or two they knew if you were going to buy or not. Chairs and the little grass huts down on the beach are wonderful, we enjoyed the sun, sand, surf and a drink or two from the beach bar. The pool bar was a happening place, music, laughs and drinks quickly ready for you to enjoy. The chairs at the pool could stand to be replaced..some ripped and some had the bar at the bum area sticking up which was hard to sit on if you wanted to read. FOOD..lots and lots of food, felt like we were always eating and traveled with two vegetarians and they never had any problems finding something to their liking. The staff in the dining room was quick to fill your glasses and take your dirty dishes and always with a pleasant greeting. Everyone is so friendly and the entertainment team is AMAZING..had so much fun and laughs. I am going to say the place could use with a little updating, pool tiles need fixing, pool needs a little cleaning, rooms need a little updating and some good quality pillows would be a plus we all suffered from some sore necks from the pillows. We never had any bugs in our room but there was a smell of sewer that could be smelt every once in awhile that was a little off putting but we weren`t in our room for the whole trip but it did make us wonder why that smell would fill our room. Free WiFi...an all inclusive should include everything ...including WiFi...it would have been nice to stay in touch with home with the use of free WiFi. Bring some small bills with you because no where on the resort can you get any bigger bills changed and if you bought something in the beach hut you were given peso and if you didn`t want them they always said they had no american dollars. I think it was a wonderful vacation and would not hesitate to tell anyone to go there for a good time...I know we all had a great time and will be back!

Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: nice and friendly resort

We just came back from this resort. It is a good place. But the weather in this week not too good. Only 3 days sunny. 4 days raining...but still good So the mosquitoes or bug are very active.There are no a/c in the buffet restaurant. The floor there is wooden and have a big gap. They hidding there. So when we have good dinner. They have a good dinner ,too. The food is good but a little bit salty. The maxcian restaurant is the best. We stay in Block 4 3/F . Viva Tangerine by Wyndham: great value

The grounds and beach were immaculate. The staff were five star. The pools were cleaned daily. The buffet was varied and good quality. The rooms were simple, but clean. We will go back without any hesitation.
