Iberostar Origin Playa Pilar: Awesome resort

This was our second trip to the Playa Pilar in two years, needless to say we returned because we was impressed on our initial visit. I have nothing bad to say about your resort, the amount of staff that remembered us from our trip a year ago was mind boggling. I apologize if I cant remember names but from the time we stepped off the bus we was greeted by Jossy and Yadier, awesome people skills, they were the first two to remember us. The rooms was great always clean, good variety of food, buffet [... read more] and a la carte`s, didn’t really care for the Mediterranean restaurant, not because the food was bad just it wasn’t the type of food I prefer. Wilbur, the bar tender at the 24 hour snack bar made very good drinks which kind of matched his personality and attitude, always upbeat and friendly. All staff from the grounds keepers to the people that waited on you always had a smile for you, and willing to help out in any way they could. If I had to put a negative twist on this place it would be the lack of a beach front, the boardwalk is great but a beach is nice, in saying that Pilar beach is a short walk if you want to go there. Overall I would definitely recommend this resort to anyone that wanted a fun and relaxing vacation. We will definitely return to this place in the future.

Melia Jardines del Rey: Lovely resort!

Check in was quick and efficient. Our rooms were adjoining as requested and very clean. The buffet food was good but always the same options lunch after lunch and dinner after dinner. Omelette and pasta guys were fantastic and most were efficient! Entertainment was good as well, loved the band that was on tour. Melia Jardines del Rey: Completely satisfied

We got married here. The A-la-cartes were amazing, it was the most beautiful white sand beaches we’ve ever seen. If you’re a vegetarian there isn’t as many options as we had a few in our group. However if you are pescatarian you’ll be fine, lots of seafood and fish to go around. The staff is A++, little bit of a wait sometimes for drinks. Remember it’s island time, this isn’t a North American establishment. We recommend to upgrade to the elegance club. If not then bring your own beac [... read more]h towel. Also bring a bubba or small thermos which make the drinks last and create less bar visits. Rooms were clean, had toilet flushing issues but resolved immediately. The ocean water goes up to your waist, we felt super safe and let our kids (14 & 10) roam freely. We found a deal for $1100 in February, if you want to find things to complain about then you’ll find them. If you’re laid back and enjoy the best beaches, warm weather and amazing staff then you’ll definitely find that. You can also go to other Melia resorts for 5.00 per day. Oh and our wedding was 5 star treatment. If you get married I recommend going a month before for 4 days to plan it all out, this will allow more time to enjoy yourselves when you go with the group.

Hotel Playa Paraiso: Great resort

The hotel was very well laid out. The rooms are clean and spacious. The beach is spectacular and the staff extremely friendly and efficient. the Location is great as its only 10 minutes away from the airport. the food was fair but there was always something to satisfy everyone.

Melia Jardines del Rey: Jardines del Rey - Cayo Coco March 2018

Pools were great. Beaches were spectacular. The rooms were spacious, clean with great water pressure in the showers. Drinking water was restocked daily. They were short on bath towels and bed linens. Overall the staff were friendly and helpful. The live, evening entertainment was outstanding and brought people together in the lobby area. The proximity to the airport was within 20 minutes and a very efficient check-in process was evident. Our breakfasts and dinners were all at the bu [... read more]ffet restaurant with the food being so-so. Some foods were over-cooked while others were undercooked. They were crowded and noisy with long lineups for prepared foods. One of us suffered food poisoning at the beach restaurant and lost a day in recovery. The beer and wine was great...which always helps. We would be reluctant to return to this resort but see that it has many fine features.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Had better

I will not be returning to this hotel. After 1 day I noticed water that was leaking through the lights and ceiling after someone had a shower in the room above us. I asked to move and they moved us to building 24. It was a renovated roobeen to Cuba 7 times and I know what to expect. The omlett, fruit, deserts. Grilled chicken, pasta bar and stir fry, and panini sandwiches on the beach were good. We didn’t eat anything else. A lot of people complained that they were sick after they ate soup. We [... read more] also walked away from the specialty dinner at the pool because they served soup and I noticed the chef touching our food when he was platting our dinner with his hands. The lobby bar had good drinks and coffee. The staff was helpful and great iendly. The diamond club was worth the beach service. You must go early to the beach to get your chairs and reserve them. The beach was beautiful!

Starfish Cayo Guillermo: Thank God the views were amazing

I'll be kind and blame most of my issues with this hotel on the fall Hurricanes. The trees and landscapes were awful. The lawn was knee high. Flowers and leaves were coming back ! We booked the privilege + section with wooden bungalows. The Club section was closed. The room was the worse I've ever seen. The drawers wouldn't close. The gaps above and below the doors let the rain come in flooding the room. The toilet paper holder was all rusted. We showered with our flip flops on because  [... read more]the bath floor was filthy. Since the hurricanes, the agriculture in all Cuba suffered. The buffet had very little fruit and vegetables. We would have to wait about 15 minutes to get a fork. Spoons are non-existant so why bother putting out yogurt and cereals ?? There's a smell in the buffet that was sometimes unbearable. On the bright side, the views of the ocean are amazing throughout the resort. It's a kite surfer paradise. This means it's windy and water is very shallow. Don't expect to swim at this beach. You can only roll in the sand. There's maybe 1'-2' of water. I met a couple that was on their 15th visit to this resort and they swore they would never go back. I won't for sure...ever !

Melia Jardines del Rey: Beautiful report

Resort was beautiful - grounds and facilities well maintained. Drinks in lobby bar were top notch, and staff were friendly and very helpful - very good with kids. Pool area was clean, and always chairs available. Beach area was excellent. Food just ok but this was expected in Cuba.

Hotel Playa Paraiso: Great Time Had by Us all

We stayed at The Pestana resort March 9-17 in block 3 second floor. The two rooms we had were clean and very spacious with two double beds. The bathroom had a tub / shower with lots of water pressure and lots of hot water. Never ran out. No problems with plumbing at all. Maid was very kind and friendly. Food was ok, but then we werent visiting for the food. Always something tasty to eat. The food at the fresh grills were very delicious and cooks very friendly. loved the omlette bar in am and pasta bar for lunches and supper. Perferred the Cuban and Portuguese a la cartes the best.Found the servers and food less wonderful at the Italian one, and I normally love Italian food. But was extremely full after eating at each of them. The beach was amazing. A bit of coral but not required water shoes to go on beach or in water. Yes people do stake out their chairs under the shde early in am, but we always found a chair and place to rest. The bars are all fun and the servers very friendly always Greeting you with smiles. The drinks were very tasty. Bring a large reuseable cup with you and you wont have to get refills at bar as often. There was always activities going on at the pool and on the beach. The evening entertainment was good. Had a rock band one night and a singer with dancers another and rest of nights that we attended watched different types of dancing to different types of music. The pedal boats , kyacts and sail boats were often used . There is a lot of km of sandy beache to walk along. We loved our visit to the Pestana. It is a quieter resort, and smaller.as it has only a little over 500 rooms ( if you want lively you can walk a short walk to the plaza where there is a disco nightly ( ladies night Fridays and free admission on mondays for all) as well as a bowling alley. Coffee is cheaper to buy at dutyfree at airport than in gift shoppe. Vip at airport is worth price. Priority checkin and boarding, free unlimited drinks ( alcoholic and nonalcoholic), sandwiches and chips. Area is cosy with couches and airconditioned. As well has a private restroom. As well they only allow a limited number of people t any given time into the vip area. Went on sugar,rum,tobacco tour. Was worth it. Fun and learned interesting things. Had a cuban lunch including a drink.

We both had an amazing time at this resort. The rooms were comfortable and clean and the amenities were top notch. The pools were always a good time, but the beach took our breath away. Definitely recommended!

This resort is so great that the staff were very friendly, always wear a smile and approachable. Yanet, the lady at the reception is very helpful and attentive to our needs. She always addresses our issues and make sure that it's dealt with properly. Fresh towels and bedding everyday. Thanks to housekeeping. Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Great Value!

This resort and staff are working hard to improve this resort after all the hurricane damage. The grounds are nice. The rooms are decent but some people had issues with leaks and no hot water.The staff are super friendly and will eagerly help you enjoy your stay. The beach was amazing and the different levels at the pool kept the kiddies at one and the adults at the other. We did Diamond club and not to many perks but not having to line up for meals was well worth it, as well as, your own area o [... read more]n the beach. The snack bar was great! This resort is very family friendly so if you want adults only this may not be the resort for you.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: A Wonderful Experience

I went to Iberostar Daiquiri in March, the 7th - 14th, 2018 with my daughter and my granddaughter. We had a wonderful time. Our room was a little tight, with three women, but considering how much time we spent in our room, it was fine. The maid was amazing and the room was kept clean and the towel art was bar none. The food was great, not your usual all inclusive buffet. There were several stations and the food was cooked while you waited. The entertainment staff were fantastic, they never stopped and the shows they put on were superb.. Everyone was so friendly and helpful except for the bar staff, which was disappointing. Even when you tipped them, you were lucky to get a smile. But I would definitely recommend this resort, we will have great memories of this vacation.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Hazy Memories

This hotel has wonderful staff everywhere, from the entertainment team to the snack bar servers and guest services. The beach is beautiful and chairs plentiful. The pool is a lot of fun but not as many chairs and you have to get up at the crack of crow to secure a spot at the pool. Always found something to eat at the buffet, but there was a lot of weird looking prepared items that just were not appetizing. Took a few days to enjoy the buffet. The rooms are tired and worn out. We were pla [... read more]ced in an absolutely terrible room in building 10 and overlooked garbage from the hurricane. The patio door lock was broken and the door did not open without some strength to get the glass open. It took from 3 pm arrival until 6pm the next evening to get into a new room. It was a much improved but still tired looking. I was shocked when I read somewhere that this resort is only five years old. The public bathrooms are quite dark, the floor wet, and the smell was not pleasant. There were ladies working constantly to keep them clean. Maybe the hotel needs to provide a sheet to people new to resort about the unique etiquette of paper handling. I would not go back to this resort.

Sol Cayo Coco: Great resort!

Great place! Very nice weather. Clean environnement. Friendly staff. Excellent service. Great food. Nice clean beach. They are working to improve the place. We recommend this place to our friends. We would go back anytime.

Melia Costa Rey: Highly recommend

Pullman Cayo Coco is a beautiful resort, the staff super friendly, the beach = Paradise! Could use a few improvements like NO Smoking in the lobby as it's harsh for children, people with breathing problems, and those who do not wnat second hand smoke issues. No washrooms at or near the beach though the beach is only a 2 minute walk. No parties or bbqs at the beach either, sort of disappointing Food was great, could use improvements as well, more choices... Entertainment could include guests. [... read more] Wifi is a huge problem, nearly non-existent! Overall a great vacation, great resort, great people, amazing beach!

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Loved it!!

Stayed here March 7-14. Stayed in bldg.25....newly renovated room...only thing it didn't have a bathroom door which I heard about before booking,and almost didn't book here because of this.Travelled with my cousin and my 17 year old daughter..very awkward at times, but we brought tacks with us and the beach towel in the room fit perfectly!! Anyway loved the layout at this resort...our bldg.was so close to the beach...and the best beach I have seen in all my visits t [... read more]o Cuba.(been there 12 times).The food is typical for Cuba...always try to stick to the fresh cooked stations. Bit of a wait in line,but worth it. Everything is kept very clean here...the staff for the most part are very friendly and helpful..the entertainment here is great...nice shows at night and lots of activities during the day if that is what you want. Don't miss the bar called Route 66...best drinks on the resort.We found it 2 days before we left.Kinda hidden away, and only open 3-11pm. Nice beach bar and snack bar makes the best pizzas for you. I will definatly be going back to this resort again...loved the quietness here as well....no kids makes a nice change...not a place if you like to party...gets very quiet at around 11pm. All in all I would highly recommend this resort to anyone. ..

Hotel Vigia: Repairs Needed after Irma

We spent March break here and it was the roughest hotel we have been too. First room barely had any water function for flushing the toilet or washing your hands. The shower sprayer was broken, tv was not hooked up and the phone didn’t work. We changed rooms which was better but the patio doors on most rooms had huge cracks in the glass which made you nervous to open them. We didn’t go in the pool once because loungers were all sitting empty but “reserved”....very annoying. Beach loungers were available so we stayed there. Lots of sea shells on the beach if that is your thing. We will be back to Cuba but not likely this resort unless it is completely fixed up. The one next door looked much better Iberostar Daiquiri.

Melia Jardines del Rey: Great Resort

I must say I loved this resort as it was more up to date then any I have visited so far. Our Room attendant was amazing and friendly. The room was very clean and we had tons of water compared to other locations we have stayed. I do recommend they offer more of a variety of drinks at the bar. The Beach was amazing and I didn't visit the pool once as I loved the beach and the swimming.
