Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Pretty good, but not great.
Nice grounds, lots of trees around, beautiful beach with lots of palapas, snorkelling right there, tons of chairs. Same food every night, but I guess that's par for the course in Cuba. We upgraded to Plus to get beside my sister. We ended up having ants in the riom for three days, which were attracted to the sugar packets that were there for coffee.
Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Great resort!!
We Upgraded to the "Plus" aka deluxe package. Excellent rooms, access to VIP pool and VIP bar, great beach, food was awesome, shows were average, grounds were well maintained, always lots of loungers and shade on the beach, bars everywhere, 24 hr snacks- cheeseburgers, fries, hot dogs, club sandwiches, ham and cheese sammich. Main dining area always had fresh made to order- chicken breast, pork, beef, fish and pastas for supper and lunch. Breakfasts consisted of fresh made to order omelettes, ba [... read more]

Playa Pesquero: Cuba: Playa Pesquero
Our friends had been to this hotel for 8 consecutive years so we just had to check its secrets out. My wife and I were at the Hotel February 23 to March 6 2015 for 14 days. Avid birdwatchers with a written list of must see birds. We checked out the layout of the hotel on-line and saw that there were just 4 blocks of rooms that would have a ocean view. Our friends said the hotel would do all they could to grant our requests and they certainly did. We had a beautiful second floor room with ocean v [... read more]
Playa Costa Verde: We will be back
This was our first trip to Playa and we will definitely go back. The a la carte restaurants were good, loved the Japanese best Olivia and Jolee are absolutely terrific. Beach, Pool, lobby bar, snack bar (you have to try the max burger) for lunch try the Cuban restaurant off the beach. The amount of repeat visitors also needs to be mentioned, you have to be doing it right to get that many people coming back. The two young ladies who sang a couple of times for the entertainment were really amazing [... read more]
Playa Costa Verde: Great resort
Resort is older but they are improving things each year. Staff are terrific. The beach swimming area is very good and the snorkeling is great nearby. The buffet has a few good stations where they make pizzas, omelettes, etc. Bars were not busy and have a great selection.
Paradisus Rio De Oro: Relaxing vacation
A quiet, well laid out & well kept facility with very friendly & competent staff but it is starting to show it's age a bit. Swimmers will be disappointed by the beach as there is a lot of coral making entry difficult and quite small & crowded where the umbrella's are. Entertainment is varied & competent. Food is a bit of an issue. While their is lots of it, we found that they need to cater more to healthy eating, not enough whole grains, fresh vegetables, too much salt & sugar but the seafood is [... read more]
Paradisus Rio De Oro: Fabulous
The grounds were beautiful with lots of area to walk and even a botanical garden. The staff were very professional, friendly and good at their jobs. The food was great with lots of variety. The Al a cartes were excellent with great offerings. The beach was beautiful and the snorkelling was usual for Cuba. Our only recommendation is not to fly with Cabanna Air as our plane was in rough shape and caused delays. Although the staff were extremely competent.
Playa Costa Verde: Truly a beautiful vacation!!!!
The hotel was clean and tidy, always someone cleaning the lobby the washrooms and wiping tables and waiting to serve you at any time, the grounds and pool were always clean and someone always busy cleaning, such beautiful & hard working people always wanting to serve you. The food was delicious every time we went to eat and again staff awaiting to serve you. I will definitely be planning to go back to this resort again in the future was one of our best places to visit and would recommend to anyo [... read more]
Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: Beautiful resort with potential to be 5 star
The beach is the star attraction. Immaculately clean, powdery sand, abundance of lounge chairs, kayaks, pedal boats, Hobie Cats and clear gentle water with good snorkelling at the Paradisus end. Since there are only 2 hotels sharing the beach, it never feels crowded. There are 2 grand lobby areas, open to the sea breezes with bars and lots of seating. Entertainment is provided daily/nightly in the lobbies and in a large, airy theatre. There are 2 large free form pools that are very well maintain [... read more]
Paradisus Rio De Oro: Sophisticated resort
Attentive and efficient service from the moment we arrived. Enjoyed a glass of champagn during the check in process while our bags were carefully delivered to our ocean view room. Very impressive start! Facilities and grounds well maintained by a friendly and competent staff. Many spoke english/ french quite well. A excellent variety of food choices including at the buffet, beach and pool cafes, and the a la cart restaurants. Many free activities such as snorkling, archery, catamarans, and pe [... read more]
Sol Turquesa Beach: Beyond expectation
This was the best trip I have ever had. The best food, the best entertainment, the best room, the best staff I could keep going. We were planning our next trip there while we were still there. If anyone has anything to complain about this place it is because they can't be pleased with anything because not a single thing was wrong here. If you want the true meaning of a vacation than visit this place.
Sol Turquesa Beach: very beautiful resort
rooms were very clean and well set up, dinning are very well maintained, food - good, grounds very good maintained, entertainment was excellent. Beach and service on it very good. Main bar lobby needs more seats but piano music - excellent!
Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Great Resort
We stayed in a Villa, it was great. The Villa's are a bit far from the main building, this is great if you want a bit of quiet time. The food was above average with many places to eat. Grounds were very well kept and people were very very friendly. This resort impressed me enough that we will certainly return again.
Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Amazing resort
This resort is really nice. It has under gone some wonderful changes and we loved it. This was our 4TH time we will go back in a heart beat. They have added a new breakfast area, mthere is always something to eat on the buffett. The resort is very clear the pools are beautiful nd so is the beach
Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Nice resort but dated
Al La cart restaurants were great buffet was OK. Rooms were dated could use some remodeling. Resort was clean and beach was great. It would be nice to have an outside bar and snack shop that was NO SMOKING.
Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Wonderful vacation
We were two families with teenagers and there was much to do to keep them entertained. The weather was fantastic and the people were friendly. The food was good, there was a lot to choose from so we had no complaints. We arrived late and were hungry. It would have been nice to have a quick tour but we found our way around. We stayed in the bungalows and they were wonderful. Make sure you keep a count of your beach towels (blue ones) because they charge you if you lose one. (15 pesos) The bank ac [... read more]
Playa Costa Verde: we will NEVER return to this resort
The grounds were lovely, the rooms adequate but the staff and food and the noise and smoke were terrible. The wages must be very high for staff at this resort because no one is interested in serving the guests in order to earn tips. In the buffet, you ask for coffee or water and wait 20 minutes or more. Once in a while it came promptly, but that was the exception rather than the rule. Hot foods were lukewarm at best, cold foods were cool. Cold scrambled eggs are a great start to the morning! You [... read more]
Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Great value
We got the plus and felt it was well worth it. The pool is better, more a la cartes, and the VIP bar. But the best part was the medical staff. I felt poorly the third day and was seen by the nurse immediately. My blood pressure was very high and she called the Doctor. He came within 1/2 hour and gave me a checkup to make sure I hadn't had a stroke. He put me on medication and I was checked out everyday by the nurse to make sure my pressure was going down till I left. Not fun to be sick away from [... read more]
Playa Costa Verde: Very Nice Resort
My wife and I were at the PCV on jan 25th for 7 days. We loved the layout of this resort and found it very easy to navigate. The staff were very friendly and eager to help with everything. If you have been to its neighbour Playa Pasqeuero then you would most likely like this resort as well....kind of just a smaller Playa Pasquero. We would definatelly return to this resort in the future.
