Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Clean, Attractive, Compact Resort

Went second week in May and the weather and temperature of the pool was perfect. Beach has a lot of seaweed (raked daily), crushed shells in sand, and there was a considerable amount of wind pick up usually around 11:00 a.m. so cannot comfortably stay at beach past noon. Daytime entertainment good as well as the entertainment staff. Evening entertainment could use some improvement as not as varied as Iberostar Punta Cana / Dominicana - i.e. band for dancing each evening, and there was not any professional shows the week I was there only audience participation. Locals come in on weekends and national holidays which makes it very busy and loud. Staff on the whole were very pleasant.

Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: no peace

Good food, good pool but you could not relax with the contast harrassing from the staff day and night it did not stop. Buy this buy that come with me i need to show u something. Will not be making a return trip to that resort

Viva Tangerine by Wyndham: Fantastic Stay

After reading reviews of Viva, I was hesitant to book. But I've been to this beach before so I took the chance. And thankful I did! Grounds/Room - Room 2516. Room was white/turquoise theme. Very pretty. Small, but who needs lots of room in the hotel? You don't spend much time in there. Had a mini fridge that our maid always stocked with water. Patio with chairs and a table. In the mornings, there was always lots of fruit, pancakes, French toast, sausages. Lunch and Dinner had many pastas, salads, fresh cooked burgers, pizzas, etc. Fruit and desserts were always available. I didn't get sick from anything, and I have a sensitive stomach. Service in the buffet was okay. We weren't catered to but our plates were always collected. The bartenders were great (but we always tipped them). They started giving my fiancé the "good liquor" which was captain morgan. Entertainment - The entertainers at this resort are fantastic. The Michael Jackson performer was fantastic, and they include guests whenever they can. They were constantly doing something around the pool, whether it was playing darts, marco polo, dancing, water aerobics, or yoga. Lots to do if you don't want to just lay around! The entertainers also were very friendly with the guests. Would sit and chat with people around the pool. Beach - AAAHHH... the beach *sigh*... I had been to this beach before. I knew how long and beautiful it was. The seaweed that washed ashore was cleaned up every morning. It was always clean. Water was warm and crystal. Amazing beach for windsurfing. Overall, this stay was fantastic. If you are without super high expectations and have been south to an all inclusive before, you will be pleased with this small but lively resort. We were here in low season, so I can only imagine how fun it would be when at full capacity. Would DEFINITELY go back here!

Riu Merengue: Cant wait for my next visit!

Food was great, beach is amazing, staff friendly. A little too much North American music for my taste but still a wonderful vacation location. Safe and clean, rooms were well kept. Planning my next visit and have others interested in going as well. Wish our direct flight season in the Atlantic was longer tho... have to wait longer to go.

Blue Bay Villas Doradas: Excellent Resort

The Blue Bay is a beautiful resort. The grounds are clean and well kept. The dining is great. The beach is a wonderful place to see the sunrise and spend the day under your palapa. It is an adults only resort. People from all over the world are there and we met some fantastic people. This was our second visit and we will certainly be going again.

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Great resort and good food!

We recently stayed at the CH Gran Ventana and loved it! The resort was beautifully renovated and well kept. Beach was nice but windy at times. The food was good and had a good selection of items. The entertainment staff were wonderful and very engaging! Loved it!

Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: Relaxing way to end an undergrad :)

A couple of my friends and I came down for graduation. The resort is so clean and everything is fairly close to one another which makes for ease in getting places. There is one pool which is always kept clean. There was a variety of people there including families, people our age (early 20s) and older couples. Overall, amazing trip. Would definitely return again.

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Amazing resort

Perfect spot to relax and enjoy the beautiful grounds and beach. Staff were amazing. Rooms were cleaned daily and fridge restocked. Pool was large and lots of chairs...just move them around to get some shad. Take a short walk to the left on the beach and go to the "Orange Market" lots of shops and fun to look around. Can't wait to return. Thanks to all the staff :)

Paradise Playa Dorada: An amazing place

There was nothing bad about this place I would have no problem recommending this place to friends or going back their again .We have been on several trips this year and this was by far the very best one

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Wonderful Resort!

From the moment we arrived we felt very welcome. We were greeted with a drink while checking in and although there were many of us who arrived at the same time, check in was quick and efficient. Our room was clean and comfortable. My only complaint is that our fridge wasn't really cold (but didn't really spend much time drinking in the room). The grounds were beautiful and well maintained. Other guests do wake up quite early to reserve chairs but we didn't have any trouble finding lounge chairs at the beach or the pool when we were there, you might have to walk around for a minute to find one, but honestly, I was in no hurry. The entertainment staff work very hard to make sure that everyone is having a good time. You can choose to be involved in the activities or not. They are not pushy at all if you say no. We were a little uncomfortable with the amount of people on the beach trying to sell things but I was aware that it would happen from other reviews and quickly learned to say "no thank you" and they would leave you be. The food was good, we certainly didn't go hungry. The fresh fruit was amazing and the sushi was great. If you get a chance to eat at the Japanese restaurant, do it! The food is great and it is very entertaining. We travelled as a couple but would not hesitate to bring our children to this resort. There were always activities going on for the kids. A big plus for this resort is that it is a quick 20 min drive to and from the airport.

Riu Merengue: Amazing resort!

My best vacation ever! Amazing rooms, beach, food, drinks etc.etc. Absolutely no complaints about this resort. Only problem was the bug bites at night on the beach, forgot to take bug spray?! Perfect place and I would recommend to anyone. Cannot wait to return!

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Fantasticvacation!

This resort is a perfect size; not too big, not too small. The staff are very friendly and make you feel welcome. Great time had by all - highly recommend the Japanese dinner; go twice if you can. I would also recommend the cable car ride - fantastic views - memorable!!!

Sunscape Puerto Plata: Barcelo Resort

Facilities were really nice, the cafeteria food was pretty horrible but the a la carte restaurants were fantastic. Staff was mostly friendly, felt safe the whole time in the resort. Maids were friendly

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Phenomenal Couples Trip

My overall rating is a combination of experience and resort. The staff was very kind and never insisted/nagged for gratuities. The food was hands down the best I've had in any of my down south trips (including 3 resorts in Mexico, 1 in Cuba, 1 in Punta Cana). The Mexican a la carte was filled with amazing flavours, but the Japanese a la carte had great food and an even better experience that included entertainment and interaction. The beach was very nice and included some great snorkeling less than 20 yards out. We also took the tip top catamaran day trip which included snorkeling; such a great experience that I would highly recommend for anyone that enjoys snorkeling. There was always always something to do during the day and the staff was very entertaining. Night life was decent, although we never attended the disco. Overall, great trip. Highly recommended.

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Lovely grounds nice resort

The grounds are wonderful,lush lots of Palm trees. Rooms some what dated very clean,and quiet in our section. One thing I really enjoyed was how you could always see the ocean while eating,only one al a carte didn't have ocean view. Lots to do kayaks paddle boards .we took snorkelling tour from the beach really recommend this it was well worth the money. Food was fine,no one got sick .

Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: amazing resort

Restaurants and buffets are very good pools are exellent and good people all around good hospitality rooms are good but only junior suites other rooms are average and not properly cleaned not a good beach to swim

Hotel was great and food excellent, pool was very warm! Needed more bartenders during day, loved the beach, everything was very close n the room was amazing very large, more people needed to pick up garbage from pool area, grounds were beautiful

Blue Bay Villas Doradas: loved it

Awesome...very relaxing...loved the room and our location. Service was excellent... just a very good vacation. Loved it!!! Weather was awesome. Had a massage which made our vacation that much better. Lots of activities to chose if you want to. Just loved relaxing by the pool and taking long walks on the beach.

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Clean, fun and Friendly

This is the first experience my boyfriend and i have had in an all inclusive resort... we would definately go back.. The Staff we very friendly, we had alot of fun with them.. (I miss them) Efron, Blackie, Chocolatte, and Luci... we done the dune buggy and Snorkeling excursions, the tour guides on both were very helpful.. The food was great.. Brazilian, Mexican and Japanese Ala Carte were very good... Good bang for your buck...

Casa Marina Sosua Trademark by Wyndham All Inclusive: definetly a 3 star

The grounds were beautiful, the pool was good, the bars were good but the rooms could have been a little cleaner. Bathrooms need an update. No washcloths and no shower pressure. Hardly any water at all for showers. One day after excursion all day we came back to find out no water at all for shower, sink and toilet. Apparently this is a regular problem we were told by front desk people who didn't seem to care about the situation. Food was OK. Some reservation restaurants the food was not good.
