Ocean Coral and Turquesa: Great hotel, but dont nickel and dime me on the way out

Pros: Has 4 pools. All of the staff were super helpful and friendly. Food is great if you get there when the buffet opens. If you get there at the end, all the good food has gone. Price was great. Rooms are a little dated, but who is really hanging out in their room at a resort. Provided lots of entertainment if you are in to that sort of thing. Cons: If you want late check out, they want $10usd per hour over late checkout. Why nickel and dime me, when I just spent money to stay at [... read more] your all inclusive place. Obviously I chose all inclusive so I wouldn't be nickel and dimed. Seriously. $10usd per hour isn't going change your revenue much, but it surely buys you a lower review. Knocked a couple of stars off of my review.

Grand Sunset Princess: Very Large Resort!

The resort itself was beautiful and well maintained. A La Cartes were good, buffet on other hand we found that the hot buffet part was not hot(by the time you got to your table the food was cold). We also found that overall the food at the buffet was not really that good. Staff was very friendly and courteous, service was excellent. The beach was immaculate. Entertainment was good with a good variety to entertain all ages. We had a swim out and our pool area couldve been maintained better then i [... read more]t was (had floating debris/leaves that we had to clean out ourselves at times as no pool maintainence was done regularly). Room was amazing- maid cleaned very well and fridge was well stocked.

Iberostar Waves Tucan: Wonderful resort

We both loved this resort. The food was amazing and the staff were all very helpful. The beach was beautiful. Big waves but lots of fun. Would definitely return to this hotel and would recommend it to others.

Barcelo Maya Colonial: Barcelo Review

When we arrived at the Colonial we were upgraded to the Palace. This review is about the Palace. Grounds: Large ( Shuttle comes every 15 mins to take you around). Rooms: Nice and big. AC isn't as cold as other resorts, the coldest it got was 19 degrees. Food: Really good we stayed at the palace and the buffet was really good and the Coral for lunch was good also. Pools: They have an "Adult only" pool its quite no swim up bar, and cabanas you pay for. They also have a kids pool and l [... read more]ap pool. I spent most of my time in the large pool with the swim up bar. Big enough you don't realize others are in it. Beach: Not really sandy, hard rock under some sand. Ocean: Was very wavy and rocky, with lots of fish and sea turtles. Chairs: Lots of chairs near the pool and beach. Bonus hammocks too! Nightly entertainment: We did 3 out of 7. If you have a chance see The Magic Show and Micheal Jackson. So well done! Wifi: Don't waste your money, It works great for day one then it was very choppy after that. Maya Mall: Sports bar has great munchies and large TV to watch sports and a bowling ally. Maya Mall also had shops and a skating rink ($5 USD for 30 mins). Car Rental (Alamo): Miriam was GREAT! So helpful and full of information. Car rental was easy and great price, make sure you pay extra for them to gas up your car. Don't get scammed at the pumps. Air Transit Rep: Wasn't super helpful, I asked where I can rent a car and she did the sign of the cross over me and said don't do it. Its not safe. I rented the car with zero help from her, was so easy and very easy to drive in in Mexico. Download an offline map on your phone and go. SO EASY! Over all a great stay. If you like large resorts this is the place for you. Enjoy!

Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya: Returned visitors

We have been at this resort about 5 years ago and had such a great time we went back. The house band is amazing and there is always something going on at night which we love, as well as more quite places you can spend your night like the piano lounge which we also love. Like who wants to be on a schedule on vacation :) The only things this resort lacks in is the view from your room, the rooms themselves are beautiful however i have yet to find a room that has a nice view even the beach rooms lack the ocean view. The water was pretty rough when we were there, we did not spend much time at the beach.

Barcelo Maya Palace: Family Resort

First impressions of this resort are jaw dropping and over the top. It is stunningly maintained and very structured with lots of concrete, bridges, pools and buildings. The beach is immaculately kept with soft white sand. This is a family oriented resort with kids everywhere. We thought we'd be going when kids were in school. Wrong. The staff work ha [... read more]rd to keep this place looking amazingly prestine. When we travel we are looking for good quality food but we didn't find it at this resort. The quality of the food in the Brasserie a la carte restaurant was excellent. The rest of the food on the resort was very disappointing. Cafe style buffets are where you eat and the food is cold, undercooked and prepared too far in advance. The waste of food is incredible. Kids and families might like the variety of choices but the quality isn't there. When clearing away plates of wasted food I wish they would ask people if there was anything wrong with the food resulting in such waste. Maybe something might change. We tried about 6 different a la carte restaurants and other than the Brasserie, they were horrible. There are some good things about this resort that might make it a perfect destination for families with kids. It is huge with lots of pools and beach areas for swimming. You can walk for a long time along the beach as well as the adjoining resorts so there are lots of places to move about throughout the day. The dolphin area is within walking distance and even if you don't swim with them, you can watch the daily shows. The malls allow for shopping, bowling and internet access during certain hours. If you want nonstop internet access all day and night you will need to purchase it for about $10 US per day. In my opinion, internet access should be free. Even though people are told not to feed the wildlife, they still do. Fish come into the shallow waters as do the sea turtles and pelicans. This resort is perfectly located for anyone wanting to go into Playa Del Carmen, Tulum and Coba. Lots of tours are available. The public bus (Collectivo) comes right to the entrance of the resort on the main road. You can save a lot by taking this bus (van) service to and from the resort.

Riu Yucatan: Good resort!

The resort was small, but lovely! The beach was awesome and the re were always chairs available! You didn’t have to get out there at 6am to score a good spot! Grounds were nice and well maintained. Food was pretty good too. All resort food gets to be boring after about day 5 :)

Barcelo Maya Riviera: Superb Resort

This resort is beautiful. The decor is modern and tasteful with open spaces, plenty of seating and attentive staff. The pools were beautiful. There was activities every hour starting at 10am. Our room was spacious and luxurious. The buffet had many choices and varied every day. The a la cartes that we visited had amazing food.

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Disappointed

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. There is a nice pool area but the beach area is less than expected and the ocean water is on swimmable. There is a lagoon about 15 minutes away that’s beautiful but if you have any issues with mobility you would not get to see this lagoon. They have a policy at this hotel that you have to be there at 7 Am To reserve for the à la cart restaurants. This is absolutely absurd to have to wake up at six in the morning to reserve a meal for the next day an [... read more]d you can only do one for the next day. I say 6 AM because this hotel is spread across quite a distance and you need to walk from one place to the other which can take about 15 minutes . For anybody with mobility issues and or an injury or disability this hotel is a nightmare. I found many areas where it was not well lit and dangerous for all ages and even the main pathway was not lit in the early morning hours when you’re trying to go to a excursion. The staff are friendly and do react quickly in an emergency situation. This is a positive. However the bathrooms near the pool and beach area are extremely dangerous and slippery and there are no hooks behind the bathroom stall doors to put your belongings. I did appreciate the automatic flush , Sink and paper towels to keep illness at a lower level. The fact that this hotel only has one place to go late at night on the beach is unbelievable because they have a beautiful black-and-white bar that is semi indoors that could be used when the weather is unfavorable. The nightly shows were overtaken by the backdrop And constant video that runs over the dancers and performers which is very distracting as well as the music system not being of high-quality. The French restaurant had the best food and service. The other food is good but the Buffay does become a little bit monotonous. After making a Written complaint they did try to accommodate us by upgrading us to a suite and by allowing us to book all our à la cart restaurants at one time. This was very kind of them however it was a little too late as my three friends and I were already very disappointed with our experience for the first few days. My friends had no air conditioning for three days in their room. The Jacuzzi in the updated suites was small and almost on functionable. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone I will not return to this hotel. They do have a shuttle that goes to and from playa Del Carmen but the last shuttle returning is at 6 PM so if you want to go into town to experience the nightlife you need to take a $25 taxi ride to playa Del Carmen and a $25 taxi ride back which is not so great if you’re on a budget. The fact that the very first morning they called us three times in our room Around 8 o’clock in the morning was ludicrous. I’m post to be on vacation and I was having to get up earlier than I do for work at home. This was frustrating. I could continue with many many more observations and criticisms of this hotel but for the most part please don’t send anybody there. Thank you for your time and energy.

Barcelo Maya Riviera: Really good resort

Overall this resort is excellent. New resort so all amenities and rooms are excellent ! Service during the day was fair not great. Still some work to do here! Restaurants excellent and food is really good . Room service was expensive and the wine lists were very over priced ! Over all liked the resort !

Ocean Coral and Turquesa: Amazing family resort

Overall this resort is very good. It is big yet very accessible. The food is delicious. The pools are spacious and clean. The service is 5 star. Safe and secure. The beach is good, although they have the occasional days with seaweed problem, they are working non stop to clean it.

Riu Yucatan: Amazing Trip

A group of 8 of us, ranging in age, enjoyed a 7 night stay here. The resort is a great size, beautiful beach, and never had a problem finding a spot at the beach or pool. No towel games, which was nice. The rooms are average, but make up for it in cleanliness. We don't spend much time in the rooms, so we were fine with them. Highlights of this resort is the staff, food and the animals.

Riu Palace Riviera Maya: Excellent service and food.

Service is excellent. Food is great. They have updated the hotel but preferred the old look. The resort is clean and the beach is well maintained. Asked to change rooms only because first one was closed in by concrete wall with no view and became very hot.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Great Resort

Great resort, very nice staff, property kept very clean. Always doing maintenance to make everything look great. Pools are nice, rooms are nice and always clean. Food is good, can choose from all other locations as well so there is lots of options available. Not beach front, but get shuttled to private area on the beach which was nice and have access to all the pools and activities on the other properties which was nice as well as nobody can come on your property. Great place to getaway.

Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya: A happy vacation

Our family stayed in Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya last week. It was great. This is our first time to Mexico. Here are our reviews: Pro: 1. Resort is nice and beautiful, service is excellent. 2. Pools are nice. Both the noisy pool and quiet pool are good for playing (noisy) or swimming (noisy and quiet), or just doing nothing. Sea weed isn't a problem, at least when we were there. 6. Main buffet restaurant is good. Con: 1. Like many people mentioned, there are stones in the sand. Only a small part is powder sand beach. Need water shoes for sure. 2. We tried 3 A La Carte restaurants, Mexican, Mediterranean and Japanese, the Mexican is good, we are disappointed about the other two.

Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya: Fourth Visit

We and our friends have visited Valentin resort for the past four years and are still impressed with the resort. The food is good and there is plenty of various restaurants to choose from. The grounds are kept very clean and the layout of the resort is so well thought out that you can easily walk to pools, the beach and restaurants.

Grand Palladium Colonial: Awesome resort

Food and service was excellent. Room was always kept ver tidy. Resort was very clean. Staff very friendly and helpful. Alot a activites going on. Never a dull or boring moment. I will definitely be coming back here for years to come.

Riu Palace Mexico: Amazing resort

The hotel is very beautiful, clean , the personal are great and helpful,the food is amazing,so many different dishes and very tasty, food for everyone. We will definitely go back there.We have been in many all inclusive vacation in different places, but this one is the best.

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: The Best One of the Bahia Principe Resorts

This was a very clean resort, especially the rooms. Every member of the staff was friendly and helpful, and most of them went out of their way to accommodate requests. The food was better than I had expected...but still not great. Other than that, this was a great resort!
