Playa Cayo Santa Maria: Beautiful resort!!

I loved my stay at the hotel was big with many options I really enjoyed the ice cream bar the beer garden the snack bar and the choices of pools the main pool is always busy and lively the quiet pool by building 12 was very relaxing and peaceful the entertainment staff was very friendly The shows in the evening were fun and entertaining the stuff did a great job dancing I was very impressed with the Michael Jackson show which is usually over played with this group did an amazing job I would def [... read more]initely go back there again with my friends it's a great family environment as well singles and couples The beach was amazing I found we had the nicest beach front easy access to the beach compared to other resorts in the area

Valentin Perla Blanca: Amazing resort

The resort is quite new (2yrs old) and in perfect shape. The grounds are well maintained on a daily basis by a large number of gardeners. The buildings are easily accessible and low build. The rooms are very spacious with a huge bathroom and walk in shower. Plenty of room. I appreciated the private safe. All rooms have ocean view because of the way the buildings are situated. They do need more toasters, there was a line up sometimes.A wide variety of A La Carte restaurants from French to Italian or Seafood. Plenty to choose from. Book as soon as you arrive though, space is limited. The bars are well situated on the property and the service is friendly and quick. The pools and lounge chairs are plenty and well maintained and clean. Variety of activities around the pool and at the beach. Beach is clean. Evening shows were really good, something for everyone. We certainly recommend booking the tour to Havana (by bus or plane), it was worth it. Internet available only in the lobby and payable (2 pesos/hour). We enjoyed a massage in open air, definitely a must do (charged separately).

Memories Paraiso: AMAZING

The beach was absolutely beautiful !!!! I would recommend this resort to anyone. Talk about bang for your buck!! The locals are very friendly and the food was fair. The only recommendation would be more music on resort.

Roc Lagunas del Mar: Wonderful time

The hotel is new and is very well designed, the grounds are beautiful kept by a fantastic group of ground keepers who all wish you a nice day every morning. The rooms were kept clean with fresh towels each day and set in various designs of towel art. The beach was beautiful the first 4days of our 10day trip but we had a major rain and wind storm which took most of the sand back into the ocean and exposed a lot of coral which made it dangerous and hard to walk the beach, which my wife and I like  [... read more]to do at least twice per day. The pool is fantastic with plenty of very comfortable chairs and plenty of areas with shade if you wanted it. The wait staff in both the bars and the buffet excelled but the service in the snack area was very slow, a hidden gem is the little bar and fish fry facing the crazy lobster restaurant on the way down to the beach. The maintenance of equipment is poor and requires better leadership from management. The entertainment was well organized especially the aquatics show in the pool, and costumes were very colourful and well made.

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Great value Resort

My husband and I travelled there this January for 10 days and would go back! The resort is very clean and modern. The rooms were spacious and clean and the bathroom shower was excellent! The staff was friendly and helpful if we needed anything. The buffet was large with wide variety of options and the a la cartes were always available as another option if we decided to go. The food quality was ok but we knew that as I had been to Cuba before. The beach was beautiful and we took advantage of it d [... read more]aily. The high winds we had for 2 days made it unavailable for us but the pools were a great substitute for those days. As it's a large resort we appreciated the strolling from one end to the other for variety of the pools and activities. There was entertainment nightly with good variety as well. All in all it's an amazing resort for the value and for that reason I would go back!

Valentin Perla Blanca Paraiso: Amazing Resort !

We have been to Cuba before and can only say positive things about this resort. It is very clean and modern. People are friendly and service is great ! The sand is so soft and beaches are also nice and clean to walk. The water is crystal clear and a nice place to relax or have fun depending on which side of the resort you are located. Being close to the Relax pool was great ! The restaurants à la carte were very nice and food was great. We recommend the Valentin resort !!

Valentin Perla Blanca: Great resort

Very nice resort, the food was good compared to other resorts in Cuba surprisingly. The room was clean and nicely done. The beach was beautiful and clean. The entertainment was great especially at the party pool . Remember to bring bug spray , mosquito bites are plentiful and makes sleeping very uncomfortable. All in all I would return to this resort, very good value.

Resonance Blu Santa Maria: Good value for the money.

This was my first time staying at the Starfish hotel in Cuba and I had a good time. The food was fine. The hotel room was clean and spacious. The beach was beautiful and kept clean. However, the washrooms in the lobby and at various areas at the resort were never in working order during our stay. That seems to have been a common theme in the reviews. We literally had to either use the washroom close to the beach, which was closed in the evening, or walk back to our hotel room. That was inconven [... read more]ient when we were watching the evening show and our room was a 10 minute walk away! That would be frustrating for a couple with children and older people. Having working washrooms that are clean and not constantly flooding is a no brainer. So, you get what you pay for and since this resort was at a very good price...I tolerated it.

Roc Lagunas del Mar: Best time ever

I had a blast, met a lot of great people, perfect fascilities, good buffet style food, excellent drinks and unforgettable cappuccinos, the beach was excellent with white sand, blue ocean and clean. My room was perfectly clean, all areas of the resort were well taken care of. I will book again in future, a resort well worth the money.

Its our first time to travel to Cuba and we got the best hotel! We love the location beacuse is out of the mainland. We love the scenery and feels like we are home. Then, great service,great people and amazing hotel! Definitely we are looking forward to come back!

Resonance Blu Santa Maria: Amazing resort

Beautiful resort, very helpful staff, stunning beach! Food was good, typical Cuban style. Room was always clean and they are very spacious, best time to shower was early morning and later at night for hot water. A lot of walking! Pool are very nice and had some fun stuff for the kids. My teen girls loved to foam parties (day and night). They also had a beach party one night. Never a shortage of booze. My only negative was the entertainment and TOO many rude French people (Montreal French not France) oh and the bathrooms were never working, they tried hard but their system cannot handle the amount of paper! If you needed the bathroom you were best to go to your room( which =a lot of walking) . The excursions were great! Highly recommend the "two colonial cities tour" and the "sugar,rum and cigar tour" and "swimming with the dolphins tour". Room 339 had a great view of the pool. And close to everything

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Good trip

Amazing hotel. We got an upgrade without asking. Beach amazing. Only thing I would have changed was the early evening entertainment. In Cuba we are used to hearing Cuban talent in the lobby and dining rooms. Loved that in the past. This was the only resort where the talent was poor and very little of it The food was the best I have had in Cuba. Sunning rep great.

Playa Cayo Santa Maria: Great family resort

Great hotel! Very family friendly resort. Gorgeous, stunning beach and pools. There are always enough chairs and shaded areas to sit no matter what time you go to the beach. Nice and clean rooms, beautiful landscaping and nice staff. The evening entertainment was also great with a kids show and very talented performers. It's Cuba so the food is ok but everyone will find something to eat...no one will starve. The coffee is amazing!

Melia Las Dunas: Very Nice

It was larger than I had imagined....the grounds were lovely especially Central Park...the rooms were nice(and we just had a classic room).... the resort was divided (for lack of a better word) into a couple's side and a family side each having a large pool area ....the resort was very kid friendly.....anyone with mobility problems shuttles were available or were there to deliver you to your destination if you got lost.....food was typically Cuban (which we don't mind)....we ate at the 24 hour r [... read more]estaurant quite a bit......beach was good but would be hard to access for some.... we enjoyed our stay at Melia Las Dunas and have no complaints

Grounds well kept and lush...everything in our room was new and very clean and lots of hot water ..staff very friendly and helpful .. .trouble with bathrooms in lobby. Closed a lot of the time...food is typical Cuba

Memories Paraiso: Great week!

Recently my friend and I stayed at this resort for the first time. We had a great week. The resort is so much bigger than we thought, which is great! The market is lovely, great for people who doesn't feel totally comfortable leaving the resort to go to little shops. The grounds were kept very clean, no garbage anywhere. The staff was so nice and helpful when we needed anything. The beach and the pool were great and always kept clean! The food is okay, we always found food to eat but found that  [... read more]it didn't keep us full for very long, LOVED the BBQ by the beach! Overall it was a great experience, would definitely recommend this resort to anyone.

Gran Muthu Cayo Santa Maria: Lovely experience!

No complaints! Staff was amazing! Cappuccino was best I've ever had! Extensive buffet with tons of options. Playing in the ocean was so fun, and the excursion to Santa Clara/Remedios was great! Lobby bar was a fun time every evening. Perfect vacation. Booking through trip central was very smooth.

it is a new hotel so the place was very clean, room etc.. but it was very difficult to get a chair near the pool (near 24 hr snack area)... was not at all impressed with the nightly shows... maybe 2 out of the 7 were good. I think this hotel has alot of potential if it gets organized but the buffet area was soo unorganized... lines going everywhere...i stood in line for over 10 min for pasta and when i finally got up to my turn they ran out of sauce with 2hrs still remaining in the buffet hours [... read more].... Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Ocean Casa del Mar, Santa Maria

Carman and I booked our trip knowing from past experiences what to expect and are happy to report that this resort did not disappoint. Our trip from the airport was a couple of hours but uneventful. Check in was easy and we had to wait for our room so we headed to the snack bar for a bite to eat. Fabulous service and food was good. Once we got our room keys we headed up to a clean and nicely decorated room. It was comfortable and that was all we needed since we don't spend much time in it [... read more]. Would of liked a room with a bathtub but it was likely under the Privilege Club package which we didn't upgrade to. Buffet was typical and we most certainly were cautious of our choices, but we could also eat at any of the "a la cartes" that were opened. We stuck to eating mostly from the stations when we went to the buffet, where we could choose what we wanted and watched the chef's cook for us. We had a wonderful hostess named Leidy who provided us with a table, wine and a special hug when we came. She was wonderful. The pool bar and snack bar were very accommodating providing us with great service and I can honestly say they went above and beyond to make our stay accommodating. The only complaint we have is the internet was very frustrating. I had purchased a package from Bell ($75 for 30Mb of data) which lasted less than a day. So I had to contact them and get another 30Mb so I could download my emails. Internet was down 90% of the time it felt but I could turn my phone off airplane mode, download my emails and turn it off without any problems. Not sure how that works but that is what happened. The other complaint is that we only brought Canadian money as we figured we would just convert into Cuban currency. We were told the exchange rate that we were being charged would be based on the US currency exchange which is about $1.30? We all know that the Cuban dollar is not par with the US. I hope my review helps someone. Honestly, if you want to go enjoy a beautiful beach with crystal clear water, great pools and fantastic staff, this is a great place to go.

Roc Lagunas del Mar: Children galore

The Warwick Hotel on the Cayo Santa Maria is a very new, clean, impressive hotel. I was charmed by the numerous lobbies, snack bars, a la carte restaurant one can visit in the resort. The gigantic pool had plenty of room in the shade and the staff kept you supplied with cold drinks. Everywhere, young children and babies could play and swim and the young parents and grandparents could entertain them without stressing out about disturbing the other tourists. Nevertheless, people seem to prefer the counters where the cooks made pasta, fried fresh fish and meat, fried rice and other delicacies. There were sporadic line-ups, depending of your luck. The young staff in the cafeteria was especially friendly and wanted to communicate but their english was not sufficient to support any kind of conversation. I would strongly recommend this resort to families with young children.
