Riu Merengue: You won't regret the decision......

Rui Merengue was an excellent resort....rooms were clean and up-to-date, although no fan in the bathroom made for a very steamy shower!!! Open bar in the room was a plus!!! The food was excellent, offering alot of choice even for picky eaters and many familiar and domestic dishes to try. The facility was so clean, friendly staff and great shows kept you entertained every night. Riu Merengue: Amazing staff!!

We had a amazing stay at the Riu, very clean and amazing friendly and entertaining staff!!! Plenty of seats at both the pool, and beach. Lots of food to choose from at the buffet. Only minor concern was the seaweed at the beach

Blue Bay Villas Doradas: truly a pleasant vacation

the food was outstanding and the staff attentive . the room was spacious and comfortable quite. i took my first tour off a resort and was totally elated with the scenery and the people. there were 8 of us in our party and while we had great fun together the resort was large enough to find quite time alone.

Paradise Playa Dorada: Amazing resort, great people!

The Grand Paradise Playa Dorada was one of the best times I've had and a great first experience at a resort. I went with 2 friends, and the staff was very fun and friendly and kept us entertained throughout the week. We met a guy named Dio (bald guy, white golf shirt) on the beach who saved us $50 (each) in total on off-resort excursions. What a blast they were! Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: Good Resort

The resort what overall what was expected. Good food for buffet style, clean rooms, and friendly staff. expect to be pressured a bit for shopping at off resort excursions. If you can always upgrade as the resort has no go areas depending on what package you buy.

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Perfect vacation

Gran Ventana is a beautiful resort with friendly staff and an overall positive, fun vibe. There's always something to do, and when you feel like doing nothing.. Relax by the pool, on the beach or in a shaded area of your choice! I want to go back!

Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: Scary experience!

My husband and I arrived late Tuesday night and were anxious to start our vacation. The resort looked great and we couldn't wait to see it it daylight. Upon entering our room you could smell mildew or mould coming from inside. We ignored the smell until we went to bed. That's when it got worst. We noticed that the smell was coming from the pillows in the room. They smelled absolutely disgusting and I did not want to put my face or nose anywhere close to it. Our room was on the ground level in Bl [... read more]ock 8. Besides the smelly and damp room everything else seemed to be fine at this point. Friday night we were woken from our sleep by loud banging sounds which we still are unsure of. Sunday night was probably the scariest night I have ever experienced in my life. We were asleep and around 2 am we could hear loud banging noises as if someone were moving furniture or dragging something across the floor. Then we could hear people shouting and arguing in Spanish, close to our room. Security had showed up and spoke with the people causing the noise. They still didn't stop making noise h til around 430am. My husband and I were terrified in our room, afraid that someone would charge into our room from the glass door balcony. Turns out that this hotel allow locals to come on the resort during the weekend. I know that everyone is entitled to do as they please but these locals were so disrespectful and loud. I did not see any reviews or incidations that the resort allowed this and I would warn people of this in the future. I will never return to this resort and I will do even more research before I do another one of these vacations again.

Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: I love this resort. This was my 8th tripv

all good, I have been at this Resort several times and I hope to return again. The stall is very friendly. The one tging I do miss is the entertainment,that is gone,it was very good when they had it in past years.

Casa Marina Sosua Trademark by Wyndham All Inclusive: Beyond Expectations

I loved everything about this resort. Location, food, room location as I had a beautiful room with 2 balcony's close to the pool and restaruants. The staff were very helpful and accommodating. Lots of security which is a bonus.

for its age the hotel is beautiful.Its very clean and tidy.The staff are very friendly and courteous.They would go out of their way too help you.As for the food its the same as everywhere you are not going to like every thing but to be hungry would be your own fault.It was delicious.Were definitely going back..

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Excellent vacation

The resort is less than 20 minutes away from the airport. Surrounded by very beautiful beach. Rooms are conveniently located close to all amenities (pool, beach, buffet, A la carte restaurants etc.) Very friendly staffs. Very good food in both buffet and A la carte restaurants. It was a great vacation for us at VH Gran Ventana. Great value for the money. We will definitely go back!

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Good Resort

Rooms, food and service was great. Rooms are clean. Staff is friendly. Foods was good and choices were endless. Drawback and there are two, as people have mentioned before, the seats at the pool are hard to get and I'm not waking up at six am to snag a spot while on vacation,.. Second, the beach venders they are relentless. They should really not allow it at this resort or any resort. People want to relax and not be hustled constantly. Talk to guest at other resorts and they did not have this pr [... read more]oblem. For those two reasons I would not go back. Reall a shame as the resort is nice. If they eliminated the vendors and the greedy pool guest I would consider going back.

Paradise Playa Dorada: people were amazing

Had a great vacation.it didn't rain during our whole vacation.We visited Jeanette who is the manager of the Restaurant and visited her new baby.She prepared a wonderful snack for us.My favorite drink was the Superman.

We stayed at this hotel from April 22nd to 29th , overall it was a very clean and well kept resort .. I had no issues with bugs in my room and the beds were super comfortable , personally I didn't enjoy the a la cartes and the service was super slow , we waited 40 minutes At edens just for a bowl of soup .... The buffet was great ... A little repetitive and not many breakfast options but we always found something we liked . The music and drinks were great though !!! .... The one thing that drove me crazy was the vendors on the beach they drove us INSANE. I understand that they need to make a living but some of them just would not take no for an answer , very pushy ... The timeshare people are not much better ... Overall we did enjoy our vacation , the staff were just wonderful and very helpful ...3 and a half stars from me :-) recommend to people who are 50+

The grounds were clean and staff friendly. I found that the food was a struggle, not a lot of selection. I enjoyed the entertainment and the beach was nice, i liked that the beach was private and you could go with out being hassled by locals to purchase stuff.

Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: Amazing Time!

My partner and I travelled from the dates of Monday April 20th - 27th. We were a bit nervous prior to arriving as we did not know what to expect after reading the reviews. Luckily, we both had an amazing time! Overall, the experience of the staff and the resort was great! The two events (Thursday and Sunday) are absolutely incredible! We had such a good time! Food was great at both buffets and restaurants and we found the standard room had all the essentials. The only drawbacks were the following: - Hot water was not running in the room every evening. There were only three days where we had warm water. - The sewer drainage form the report runs past the rooms, which we could smell in the room if we kept the doors/window open. - You must bring a hardcopy printout of your confirmation upon check-in, they will not allow you to use your phone/tablet to reference. - We found there was not enough shade provided on the beach area which left us usually by the pool during the majority of the day. I would recommend this resort despite the drawbacks!

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Amazing resort - 3 times the charm!

This was our 3rd time at the Gran Ventana, and we were not disappointed. Lovely spot and very quiet, for "older" couples, although we did see a few young couples as well. The beache are beautiful, and we were given a room at La Catalina (new section, updated). Food is amazing and you won't go hungry! The staff is amazingly kind and will go out of their way to make sure your stay is perfect. Although we were able to find a nice palm tree to sit under at the beach, so it was OK. Weather was fabulous during our 7-day stay (April 19-26). Would definitely go back!

Over all, this was a pretty good resort. If you are looking for a place to go on a family vacation, this is the resort to go to. Very kid friendly, clean, rooms are a decent size, wide variety of food.

When we stayed at the Bahia Principe, the people were amazing as well as the grounds. We found everything to be pretty clean but I found my bed to be quiet dusty. The food was pretty good in the buffet, a bit repetitive but the a la cartes did not live up to the expectations. We did have a very fun trip and there was lots to do on the resort. It was an hour and 30 minutes from the airport which to me is too far.
