Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Super hotel

Found the hotel and grounds to be very clean, constantly being cleaned, the Dominican people are so friendly, the staff are so helpful, nothing is to much trouble for them, the updates (pool bar) where good, the food was varied you could always find something you liked, but at times could have been hotter, overall we had a great time, the weather was a plus and we hopefully shall return to this wonderful hotel.

Iberostar Selection Paraiso Maya Suites: Amazing resort and vacation

Overall a great resort vacation from the flight, hotel transfers and the resort itself. More than enough things to do and see at the resort for adults and kids. My son loved the kids club program. The dive shop at the resort was a bonus for getting in some great diving. The a la carte restaurants were great and food selection and quality was also great at the buffet restaurants. Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: not overly impressed

The food was ok not great but you didnt starve. Not much variety Had to keep close eye on bartenders as they would put alcohol in minors drinks and I am referring to 7 and 8 yr olds. The drinks were not consistent. Every bartender had their own version. Entertainment staff not very friendly unless you were 20 years old in a bikini Not overly impressed

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: First time at Daiquiri

We've been to Cuba about 30 times now, we found this resort to be a very good buy for your travel dollar. We opted for the Superior room (#3149) which is located in the Camaquay Villa section which is located close to the buffet and the beach. It was very modern and kept very clean by the cleaning staff. The beds aren't great but It came with a free room safe, flat screen tv and we always had hot water. The beach has nice fine sand with a gradual walk into the weed free ocean, you can enjoy  [... read more]long walks along the beach. There is a snack shack close to the beach but we didn't use that as we usually prefer a buffet. I went in and it appeared to be a mini version of the buffet. The food was excellent with fish, beef and pork cooked to your specifications on open grills. Lots of great veggies and tons of fruit. Bring your appetite as the desserts are wonderful but the table wines we found were harsh. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were all very good. Don't forget to try the fried yucca with butter. We went during the rainy season in September and expectantly we had some rain which passed by quickly allowing us to enjoy each day at the beach...no idea about the pools as we didn't go there. Our only complaint was the mosquitos, they were relentless little buggers even though the resort fogged twice a day. It may have something to do with the rainy season but more likely to the swampy areas of the entire area. Take some repellant with you and enjoy this place.

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: 2nd visit

Returned Sept 16 2016. This resort is excellent in almost all aspects. The food was excellent the rooms were clean the service by staff outstanding. Stayed in Spa section.the beaches the most beautiful. Air Canada Rouge get some padding for your seats. Great vacation.

Iberostar Selection Cancun: Good hotel

First time at an Iberostar. Arrived before room was ready and was sent straight to a concierge who began telling us about this great promotion that week. It turned out to be a time sharing presentation to join their club. Was not very impressed. We had a few issues with our room - TV remote defective, no hair dryer, and air conditioning was not working properly. However, these were taken care of shortly after they were reported. The one thing that freaked us out was the sliding glass door  [... read more]on the mini balcony, the door came completely off the track one night when we returned to our room after a show. My husband had to hold on to the heavy door whilst I called for maintenance. It took them over 15 minutes and 3 phone calls to respond. Due to a miscommunication, we felt as though we were being blamed in some way for the door coming off and an argument ensued. When I pointed out the potential hazard and injury that could have resulted, their solution was to offer us another room, this was 2 nights before we left and we were not interested in moving. So we chose not to use the balcony for the remainder of the vacation. Overall, staff was very friendly and the hotel and beach were very nice.

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Good family vacation

We have been to this resort before when it first opened. The service is about the same the food a little better, but it is Cuba. Generally there's a lot of walking though you can take a cart when it's available. The most outstanding feature of this resort is the Ensanachos beach. The beach is shallow for quite a distance, generally calm and clear, snorkelling right off the shore with many varieties of fish where you can simply feed the fish.

Iberostar Waves Rose Hall Beach: Fantastic Resort!

The STAFF IS A+.. we went with another couple and had one of the best vacations of our life's. The food was good, the people were awesome. Great place to vacay as a family or as a couple with lots of daily entertainment and prizes. The nightly shows were awesome but after the show the resort was kind of dead- only complaint. Lastly, the rooms in the beach resort are mehhh.. but suites and grand rooms looked amazing. Especially if your bringing young ones, worth the upgrade. Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Wonderful resort

Very big resort with a gorgeous beach. Lots of friendly staff and and amazing service! I love this resort especially because there are a lot of activities available so you will never be bored. Definitely considered this a 5 star hotel if the food was better. Only con was the food but the a la carte was not so bad. Recommend this hotel forsure!

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Good Resort

This was our first visit to Cuba. I have to admit Cuba was definitely not at the top of my list of travel destinations, I was also told to lower my expectations and I did, but it turned out to be better than expected. The grounds were really nicely kept, the room and food was ok. It was the same meal everyday but we ate at the a la carte 3 nights out of the 7. Everyone has a different idea of what beauty is, but if your idea of beauty includes old structures, old vintage cars and the like then Havana is one of the most beautiful City's and you must visit! I will definitely go back to Cuba.

Iberostar Selection Playa Mita: Fantastic Resort

Not much not to like about this resort. Very friendly and efficient staff and everything is done well. Definitely a 4.5 star hotel. We went off season in early September but the resort was fully staffed. Food was very good; can't comment on the quality of the alcohol since we drink almost exclusively beer but I did notice that they had premium alcohol and I didn't hear anyone complain.

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Greatest Vacation

Iberostar Costa Dorado is a wonderful resort. Loved our room (building #5 ocean view), beach, food and service was great. Only complaint is with all the technology and rechargeable items guests carry with them on a regular basis, they MUST get the card reader problems fixed!!! We had to get our card recoded every time we left our room even when carrying NO electronics with us as they were mostly locked in our safe in the room. This became very inconvenient especially at the end of the day when a [... read more]ll you wanted was to go to bed. Otherwise, no complaints and believe me even the card reader issue is resolvable and my husband and I would go back again! Thank you for our first child free / no babysitter vacation!!!

Iberostar Selection Paraiso Lindo: Amazing resort

The hotel is clean and tidy. The breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets were awesome. The restaurants for dinner in the evening were excellent and service was exemplary. There is a lot of entertainment for kids and am sure kids would not be bored here.

JOIA Rose Hall by Iberostar: Couldn't be better

This place is absolutely the best at everything. You never had to ask for anything they have it together at iberostar. Will not disappoint!!!Grounds and accomadations are immaculate .Can not wait to go back

Iberostar Waves Paraiso Beach: Amazing resort

This was our first time in Mexico and we had an awesome time and we can see why people are return visitors to the area. Our hotel room was always clean, the staff very friendly and helpful and the resort overall was very impressive. The al la Carte were all good except for the Cajun night which seemed totally disorganized and our server totally forgot about our meals. The Japanese night was the best out of all the al la carte evenings with its excellent entertainment and food which even mad [... read more]e our 9yr old daughter want us to try to book a second night!!! We never struggled over where to eat at any time of the day. Best to book your al la carte as soon as you arrive if possible so as not to be disappointed. This was a tip we read off Trip Advisor website and there was a number of topics which we also found useful during our stay. We had initially booked to be in the Paraiso Beach but our initial agent was retiring and didn't tell us that not ALL restaurants were available to us if we'd stayed at the Beach and it wasn't till I spoke with a second agent who took over our file who advised us and we subsequently upgraded to the Lindo. We succumbed to greed and did the supposedly 1 1/2 hr presentation/breakfast for the Iberostar Plan....we'd been assured it would only be 90 mins and if it wasn't for us we could leave. We were too polite and finally at the end I had to firmly put an end to it in order for them to stop coming back with another offer to keep us there!. We used the voucher from this painful experience to enjoy a great morning snorkeling.

Grand Memories Cayo Largo: Not Bad At All!

This Resort its fine! I like it! The staff is VERY friendly! Always ready to help! They even gave me a surprise birthday cake, how nice of them. The food is ok, i mean its Cuba....any resort in Cuba you are going to have issues when it comes to food. But still I would go back to Iberostar Playa Blanca.

Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: an overall good resort

The hotel was nice, with its colonial architecture, the food was good, and all accommodation accessible, a direct access to the beach, and the bus stop not far from its entrance, people were super nice and friendly, always smiling and warm, But I think the hotel was short stuffed, we definitely had some issues with the overall service, we have been given a 2 beds room while we asked for a one queen, and when we have been told someone will come to fix it, no one showed up, the very next day, o [... read more]ur room got flooded because of a storm and we woke up in a big lake in our room, we been told that an other room will be ready the same day and we can check in at 2pm, we went at 4:30pm and the room was still not, we have been given another room an hour later that was, the next day, water was leaking in our bathroom sealing, and the power circuit would go down each time we turn the lights on, they sent some one to only take the lamp out and let it leak for 2 days. other than that, the experience was good.

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Bed bugs nightmare!

This hotel must have been great...10 years ago, when Iberostar actually cared. This is NOT a 5 stars hotel, even for Cuban stadards (we have been many times in Varadero before). The service is only good if you tip. The food selection's very basic. Always the same stuff over and over again ( buffet and restaurants). Had problems changing the beach towels. But the definite worst was the bed bugs/fire ants in the room. We even changed rooms but had the same problem. Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Met expectations

This is our second time to the resort but first with 2 teenagers. We stayed in both the Spa section and the Grand Villa 2 bedroom unit. If you enjoy a more tranquil vacation within a beautiful environment surrounded by nature, this may be a good choice for you. Not a great choice for those who struggle with walking.
