Sirenis Tropical Varadero: Beautiful resort

This is my second time at this resort....I highly recommend this beautiful resort...all the staff are so very friendly the resort is very clean food was great & of course the beach & the grounds are simply beautiful & also great nightly entertainment.....I definitely plan on returning back to Labranda next April....I've been to Cuba five times & this is my favorite resort....I cant wait to return back there next year ❤

Palma Real: It’s Palma !

This is my 7th year returning to Palma real ! I love the location of the resort . They are slowly working on upgrades and doing a fantastic job( lobby bathrooms are amazing compared to before ) . The rooms could use a little work but they will get there ! I return every year for the location ! The food was great I didn’t starve . I wish the lobby bar was open past 11pm and that the snack bar had French fries .Service from everyone at the resort was amazing . All & all a great trip !

Grand Memories Varadero: Not 'great memories'

Were at resort April 19-27 Let see where to start, first of all we arrived at Grand Memories at noon on Friday April 19 to find out our room was not ready til 4 in the afternoon.Rooms were preselected.When we finally got to go to our room the bellboy didn't help with our luggage or show us to our room ( needless to say he never got a tip ).Once we got in I noticed toilet seat was missing one bolt and the tv didn't work, and closet doors were very hard to open.The next day we went to the 'quiet  [... read more]pool' and noticed it was green,the next day (Sunday ) it was closed,so went to ask our Sunwing rep about it and she didn't know anything and said she would get back to us.So we stopped at customer service and waited outside the glass door and they never even acknowledge that I was standing there,when I finally walked in and asked them about the pool being closed they said it was being cleaned and would be open tomorrow,,,,( 4 days later it opened) 24 hour snack bar took almost an hour to get food and half the time they didn't have pizza. Beach was great but very crowded because of pool being closed for four days.Beach grill food was the worst food we have ever tasted. Buffet plates were dirty on the bottom and servers that filled the pancakes used there hands and not tongs that were provided. 'Party pool' was dirty and had broken glass in it. Maid did not change the sheets that were stained when we asked and room was never swept all week. A/C was not adjustable and was high or off. The majority of the staff at the resort were pleasent but not all. Most of the time we never had hot water. Fridge was not restocked daily . The night entertainment was good but the washrooms were very disgusting,dirty,and the doors to the toilets didn't close and there was no toilet paper in any of them and someone urinated in one of the toilet paper holders. I have to wonder what is wrong with people who pay money to go to the resort and then trash it while they are there. Cigarette butts thrown everywhere eventhough there is ashtrays all throughout the resort,people need to have more respect for others. Huge resort and understaffed. Would not recomend this resort to anyone. Needless to say we will not be going to this resort ever again

Paradisus Varadero: amazing resort

We went with 12 family members to Cuba. This was our first time in Cuba and we went in with lower expectations as it is a very poor country. We were told by multiple people that the food and the hotels are very low quality but went in with high expectations of the beaches. We were pleasantly surprised to eat food that was decent and stay in a hotel room in the family concierge part of the hotel that is nicer than most hotels we have stayed in in Canada. Hotel Los Cactus: Home away from Homw

Another wonderful week at Los Cactus, the staff were at their best as always, the accommodations comfortable, the food reasonable, weather grand and a beach to die for. After some 20 plus visits we keep going back. Hurry up October we need

Melia Las Americas: Best All-inclusive Resort in Cuba!

I absolutely LOVE this resort! This last, was my twelfth time visiting Melia Las Americas which in itself should say alot. Everything from the hotel to the rooms, the pools, the ocean and the food are top notch. Having the golf package is also key to me as I am an avid golfer and the golf course is second to none. The service staff are friendly, efficient and are there to wait on your every need. If you want to feel like a King (or Queen) for a week, Melia Las Americas is the place to go.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: 2019 Trip South

The rooms were great, loved the suite. Grounds are beautiful and well established. Loved all the al carte's with the exception of Cuban. It appears only two people looking after the full restaurant. We would definitely go back again and would recommend to friends. Val was great. Bartenders need a little more experience, some were hit and miss.

Muthu Playa Varadero: Not a bad resort at all!

Stayed here April 22-May 2nd/19...great staff from housecleaning to bartenders to coffee bar..if this resort had a bit of painting done to update it would easily be 4 star..beds were pretty comfortable..coffee bar in lobby was great! Beach was amazing of course..food was OK. .my husband''s first trip to Cuba and has only been to Jamaica to compare but he said he'd go back..you'll never go hungry..bread is terrific and fresh chicken and pork was great..snack bar was also good..smaller resort so  [... read more]easy to get around..all in all great trip! !

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Iberostar laguna azul

The staff were very helpful! The beach was beautiful, grounds and facility well taken care of. The rooms were a little out of date and we did have to switch in order to ensure we had a safe for our belongings but other than that we had a wonderful stay. Everyone was fun and energetic. The food was delicious and there was always something new to do or try.

Playa Vista Azul: Nice resort

The resort was beautiful areas was also great the room cleaner was amazing but the front desk agent wasn’t to pleasant they could of been more friendly the bartender was amazing loved the fast service

Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: Great Spot

The resort was very well maintained . Grounds were well looked after, public areas were very clean . Room was huge, was cleaned every day and our mini fridge was stocked when required. Beach and pool areas were excellent, always had shade no matter what time of the day. Staff were very friendly and always helpful . Food was ok, a bit of a disappointment however we always found enough to eat. .. All in all it was a great trip .

Playa Vista Azul: Loved the resort

Front desk attendants wernt nice , the cleaners were amazing , i had 3 favorite bartenders Amauray , Alahundro & Alberto . didnt like the wifi situation a 1.00 a hour and the wifi only worked for certain websites . Other then that i would go back to this resort

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: Amazing Beaches

The Hotel is probably 3.5 star....amazing beach and swimming in ocean. Sanctuary pool is very nice...room was average ..upgrade was not worth it...all and all a nice vacay. The coffee at the Sanctuary bar was very good as they serve all types of specialty coffees as well. Bar staff is very friendly as well the employees in general were very nice...only a small percentage of staff are english speaking

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: Our 9th Time and Counting

Just returned from our second home the Sanctuary Grand Memories in Varadero Cuba for the 9th time. We cannot say enough about the staff Hanoy, Yeny, Jesus, Yurilays, Yessy L., Natali, Leosdani, Liusmila & Alec. Pleasure to meet the new Manager Saskia! Pleased to say the Italian restuarant’s food has improved so much I have to recommend you go and have a great meal there. The bruschetta, shrimp pasta with cream sauce and steak dishes are well prepared, delicious and filling. You are greete [... read more]d at the door by Yurilays who is very friendly with a big smile and attentive. She is an asset to running this restuarant. We look forward to going back to the Italian restuarant because of her and now the food. The Rock and Roll band definitely rocks and the Opera duo are extremely talented. Two entertaining nights not to miss in the lounge bar and to meet the Captain of the bar Jesus and his staff Liusmila & Leosdani.

Blau Varadero: Amazing as usual

My 10th at the Blau Varadero and as usual we did an amazing trip. The service is super. Very clean. Beach is gorgeous. The staff is amazing. I feel like home and would like to return anytime. I recommend this hotel!

Hotel Los Cactus: Needs work (april13-27, 2019)

This is out 10th time at Los Cactus, and I would say our most disappointing visit. Upon late arrival (midnight), we were given a room in A block. We quickly asked for another room due to the mould in the air conditioner, and were given a room in F block on the second floor. The only issue with this room was that the air conditioner leaked, leaked so much all our bathroom towels had to be used to catch the water. Had to turn the air conditioner off at nighttime to avoid the constant dripping no [... read more]ise. Again asked for another room. Day 2 they had maintenance try to fix it but no luck, by day three we were moved to B block to a room with no issues. Would love to see them clean up the mould in the shower area, around the window The beach was great as usual, and the golfing was good, which is one of the reasons we go to this resort for the inclusion of golf, albeit you must pay for your golf cart. There was an issue of running out of wine, no Sambuca this year, which we had last year. Day time entertainment was mostly non existent, but there were also not many People around the pool. The resort appeared to be half full. Many of the staff we have gotten to know over the years, have left, most out of Cuba. Martinos. A la. crate is now split between Italian and international food, the food here was much improved as was the Cuban restaurant. The buffet was ok, less food options, which in my mind is good as less waste The pool needs a complete overhaul, the liner is a mess, the steps to get into the pool need to be replaced with more access points to the pool. We were told In 2018 that the pool was going to be replaced, probably not in my lifetime. unless we see some positive improvements, will probably not be returning to this resort any time soon So sad to see this small resort going constantly downhill. I would say this resort should be rated about 2.5 stars

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Loved it!

This resort is very clean with excellent service and lots of friendly smiles. This was my 7th trip to Cuba, 3rd time to Varadero and it's the first resort I'd say I'd go back to a second time. The only thing I would recommend is to bring your own beach towel, getting a clean one proved to be difficult at times. Pools were always clean, beach is absolutely amazing and the staff at this resort work their butt off to make sure you have a pleasant stay. Tip them well !

Starfish Jibacoa: Great Resort

This was our first time in Cuba and we loved VIllas Jibacoa. It is a low key relaxing resort. The food would be the only downside but we found it good enough and never went hungry. Great friendly staff.

Where to start Rooms: first room 87 no hot water , to no water to smell of sewage . Got a new room, 30 bungalow, clean, beds are not pillow top but they were not too bad. Did bring our own pillows good thing as there's are like pancakes. Beach: private yes, most beach chairs broken, fairly clean of garbage, lots of seaweed. Snorkeling amazing! Went out with the resort lifeguards, they know the spots and what dangers to avoid. Pool: clean, ok size, lots of chairs, bar, snack shack. Food: [... read more] for the most part sucked. Rice, rice, more rice, fish, sloppy fish, mystery meat, lots of bread, mushy pasta, mango for fruit. Not much for veggies. Desserts varied some good some really bad. Breakfast was probably the best meal of the day. And at that needed help. Bring your own ketchup they have none! Good restaurant at the top of the hill from the resort walking distance.12.50 for lobster dinner. Very good! Resort: staff very friendly and helpful, for the most part the resort was clean. Maintenance men seemed to always be fixing something or cleaning up. Dogs and cats at resort looking to get fed. There harmless and cute. Please feed them! Entertainment: Bbq, horse show from the local horesmen, yoga, dance lessons, night shows sucked more like karaoke. Was not crowded resort if you wanted to be alone there was space to do so. Mario is the go to guy. He can help you with all your needs. Location: an hour 10 from havana, hour and a half from varadaro. Few towns in between cab needed to get there. There crazy drivers to. Over all: not a bad stay. Weather was good, drinks were cold i would not go back for a week but perhaps 3 days. If you book Any excursions with the air transit rep be VERY specific as to want you want. She booked us swimming with the dolphins and wet got ripped. Not even 10 min in the water with them. She is not very knowledgeable.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Great Varadero resort for adults

We stayed the week of April 30, 2019, the weather was beautiful, as was the beach and the hospitality of the staff at this resort. Mostly middle aged couples, very quiet, always space at the beach and pool. The food was very good, many options for everything at all meals, no complaints what so ever. We stayed in the royal service area, and it was worth the upgrade, less crowd, no line ups and lots of other extras, check it out . The rooms are more like a 3 star, if you want a 5* room this is [... read more] not it, but it was clean and comfortable, and spacious, we had a balcony with a breeze and a great view, spent little time in the room so not an issue at all. There is no wifi in the room, they give you a card for one hour at a time which by the way is included in the royal service, you pay extra for that in the other areas. Even with this, the wifi is on and off, which I was told is typical throughout Cuba. We would go back for sure, very nice relaxing vacation.
