Barcelo Maya Grand Resort: Amazing resort

The resort was beautiful, clean and well kept. It was the best resort we've ever stayed at. A great place for all ages. Dining rooms and restaurants were very impressive. The staff was very professional. Absolutely loved our ocean front room. I felt comfortable and safe.

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Amazing resort to stay at!

We booked this resort with privilege and had an amazing time. Our butler Guillermo took care of everything for us and really made our trip extra special. So many pools and bars and restaurants. Will be back

Hotel Xcaret Mexico: Everything was just perfect!

Wow! What a great resort! We had high expectations travelling to Hotel Xcaret, as it came recommended by two families we know, but we were still blown away by how beautiful this resort is, how amazing the food was and how much fun we had with our two kids! We look forward to returning here.

Iberostar Selection Paraiso Lindo: Great vacation

The food was delicious for the most part, particularly the buffet, Italian, and Hibachi. No shortage of food, there are snack bars everywhere and it's all great! The grounds were very well kept. All the staff were so friendly and accommodating, and you can tell they're hard-working. Loved the cappuccinos and lattes. The pool was great - spent a lot of time there. The room was perfectly cleaned every day. Loved their environmental endeavours - shampoo/conditioner/bodywash/handsoap/lotion were all [... read more] refillable containers rather than small throw-away squeeze bottles, and filtered water was available on each floor to put in glass bottles, rather than using lots of plastic bottles. AC worked great in the room. Wifi works everywhere outside, even at the pool - a couple dead zones here and there (eg. by the cafe) but not a concern. Good variety of television channels. Good size safe in the room. I would suggest adding bins outside the hotel rooms for plates/cups to go in. Overall we had a great trip and definitely would like to return to this resort again.

Barcelo Maya Palace: excellent resort

this is a huge complex which now contains 6 hotels of which the Palace is the second newest. It is very well maintained and the food is good to very good. The buffet restaurants offer lots of choice for even the most selective or discerning palates. The specialty restaurants (Brazilian, French etc) are ok but not high end. The swimming pools are first class as are the facilities for the kids of all ages. We have been to this group of hotels many times. Ocean Coral by H10: Decent resort

I had big hopes for this resort after reading so many great reviews. It was a good resort, but not amazing. The good: the rooms were nice. Our room even had a dehumidifier which was nice since the floors get slippery with the humidity. The staff are all very friendly and most speak good English making it easy to order Very close to the airport which is great after a long day of traveling. The bad: The food is mediocre at best. Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun: Gorgeous resort and amazing holiday!

What an amazing hotel to take our family our vacation to! From the beautiful rooms and pools, to the delicious food and drinks! All the restaurants including the buffet were able to accommodate my gluten free diet! Thank you so much to the wonderful staff! We were made to feel like royalty at the Royalton!!

Breathless Riviera Cancun: Average Resort - Super Friendly Staff, Clean Resort

This resort is newer and in great shape. The staff were super attentive and very friendly, food was good for the most part. We received a "raw" hamburger - super rare/red - so be sure to request how you want your meat cooked. The resort was not very full when we were there (went with my husband) making it very easy to get a good location at any pool or beach and no line up to enter any restaurants (a bonus)! This is a good resort for couples, friends, special occasion celebrations. They h [... read more]ad a few odd restrictions, we found strange they wouldn't let you turn the chairs in the pool areas to face the sun, even if you were not blocking anyone, baffled me (told at the Xhale pool). We were told it was upper management rules. They also have a fairly large section blocked off (1/3rd of the pool) in the Xcelerated pool at the end of the resort that is reserved for anyone who will pay for champagne (minimum bottle was over $100 US increasing to $4,000), nuts!! I only saw a few people in that section throughout the week. It was explained that it was to bring in more profits for the resort. The entertainment/DJ is in that area, if want to be in that section buy a bottle of champagne or you have to remain in the pool, very odd. Seemed to be more than half ages 18-35 but there were some more our age which is 45-55 when we were there! If you have been to a Dreams or another Breathless you can expect the same type of resort and service. We've been to a few and find them very similar though not the crazy rules/restrictions. We travel 3-4 times over each winter. Overall it is a nice resort, read all reviews before deciding, this was just mine opinion.

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: poor service

When we got there most of the people at the front desk did not speak enough english to be able to understand us. When we had problems there was no "leader" who could be found to truly help us. Many of the times there were places without staff for the problem (ie for the shuttle to the airport)

Catalonia Yucatan: Fantastic Resort

The hotel was a smaller style resort, the design of which we loved because it felt truly authentic. The service was AMAZING and truly made our trip. The food was also exceptional. If you're looking for a truly relaxing vacation look no further.

Dreams Jade Resort and Spa: Excellent resort

Overall a great resort with friendly staff and excellent service. Enjoyed the proximity to the beach. The food was fantastic and always fresh. I would return and would recommend to my friends. Only criticism I have is from other guests slamming room doors at all hours of the night, but hey we’re on vacation so it’s not a huge issue.

El Dorado Seaside Suites: Beautiful Resort to Celebrate Our Honeymoon

My husband and I traveled to El Dorado Seaside Suites to celebrate our honeymoon in early January 2020. For the most part, I would say it was fantastic and we cannot wait to return. - The facilities and resort grounds are kept up impeccably. There's so many people working tirelessly to ensure that everything looks beautiful and it certainly pays off. The only neg [... read more]ative experience that we had was at the Gourmet Pub. Not sure if it was an off night but both the ribs and steak were extremely over cooked. Other than that there is tons of variety and the staff is extremely attentive to dietary restrictions - The pools are wonderful and they provide lots of options for relaxing around the water. We never had an issues finding a place to put our towels and enjoy some reading - The beach is a bit disappointing... They block off the water (probably for safety purposes, so that is appreciated) but you can really only go "swimming" at a wading level. Plus it's not the best beach to walk up and down (lots of rocks and the sand isn't soft). This isn't a break or break for us but it could be for some people - Concierge adds a nice touch to your stay but I would say some are more attentive than others to their guests - AMAZING entertainment. No matter what there's always something going on and it is really great quality Thank you so much to all of the people that work so hard at the resort for their guests! You truly gave us a wonderful time and we are very grateful.

Catalonia Royal Tulum: Good resort too quiet and boring

This resort is small, quiet,they do not play music on the beach except for an hour a day when they do water arobics....there is a bar in the main lobby tucked away in the corner with no patio to sit on no music playing except at night when they have either a violinist or a guitar player...ect ect The beach front at this resort is beautiful ...not many trees for shade no palapas on the beach...the beach is very close to a bar and the pool..... Pool always looked busy but just passed by as we do [... read more] not sit at a pool.... The buffet was okay nothing great not a huge selection lunch was better than dinner.... you have a choice to go to all restaurants for dinner, no reservations... Except the beloved restaurant which is for upgrade only,did not upgrade so cannot comment, the rooms were really nice nothing fancy but updated and clean the walkway is in middle of a rainforest setting on either side only 6 bldgs 3 on each side There is a little animal called a coati (racoon family) very friendly will be roaming around when people walk by especially when fed, (you are not suppose to feed) they can bite The resort is just about in the middle of the 2 cities Tulum and Playa Del Carmen you can take the collectivo too both places.... Distance from airport to resort is approximately 50-60 min The steak house was very good The photographers were really annoying constantly trying to take pictures of you One night during the week the resort has a few vendors in selling on the pathway They also have a store at the pool and in the lobby .

Catalonia Riviera Maya: Family Vacation

We stayed in a 1 bedroom suite, spacious with everything we needed and a very nice big bathroom. The large balcony with outdoor tub was great! We liked all the pools, nice to be able to sit in different areas of the resort throughout our stay. We found the service and food good value for what we paid, especially the 'privilege' perks. Beach is small but nice, lots of fish that were easy to see even without snorkels. The staff in the kids club were great.

Platinum Yucatan Princess: Awesome time!

The platinum side of this resort was pretty awesome. I've been to the grand sunset and the riviera and now the Platinum. This was just a touch above the others. Booked a swim up room which was very unique and lots of fun. Not too noisy but not too quite. Great time overall!

Occidental at Xcaret Destination: Beautiful!

If you love nature and all it has to offer, this resort is for you. We spent hours and hours just walking on the trails at the resort and at the park. The rooms are beautiful, the pools are great, the adult section with the natural pool is awesome! Superb meals all around. Will definitely return.

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Quite a Fun Resort

This Hotel has it all mostly. Great service and staff and good food. Good choice of restaurants although the Mexican bfast and lunch is not open on a regular basis. the Japanese restaurant is quite popular and people wait in long lines to book a dinner time. There is good entertainment, teen room, tennis and batting courts. The rooms are quite spacious and one big benefit is no mosquitoes when we were there. There are a good number of swimming pools. I love that there is guy who makes crepes n [... read more]ear one of the pools for a good part of the day. The beach side restaurant is also pretty good. My only point about the resort which is quite long and has a shuttle service too is the Beach. There are a lot of small rocks and when the waves come in, they really hurt and hit hard which can be quite painful. My advice would be to dredge the beach area to ensure there is soft sand only instead of the small pebbles and rocks that keep making it very inconvenient to walk around.

Ocean Maya Royale: Consistent

We have been here three times in the last 18 months. Food and drinks are great. The only thing better is the staff. The 4 restaurants and buffet will not leave you wanting. The beach is clean and seaweed free most days. Will return again.

Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya: Great resort, amazing service!

We stayed at VIM from January 2-9 2020. A This was our first visit to Mexico, but we have been to Cuba many times, the Dominican twice and Antigua a couple of times. We are a married couple in our mid 30’s. The age range here is vast. No certain age range seemed to dominate. There were young, old and everyone in between. We booked a deluxe junior suite but we were put in a silver in building 1. The room was nice and big, updated, built in bluetooth speakers, separate toilet area a rainfall [... read more] shower, and a separate jetted tub. There is only a thin curtain that you can see through separating the bathroom from the bedroom area. This wasn’t a problem for us. The grounds are stunning and amazingly well kept. Absolutely love the “jungle” feel of this resort. The main pool is HUGE. The towel game is the same here as anywhere. I was usually up around 8am and there was always lots of chairs to choose from at the pool (sun or shade). 2 mornings they did come around and take all of the towels off of the saved chairs though. The beach was beautiful. White sand, turquoise water. It was rough most days because it was quite windy. But the waves were fun. There was zero seaweed. Even without seaweed, a tractor still cane every morning and groomed the sand. Excellent beach volleyball court on the beach (although the net is a bit high, likely to prevent spiking). The service here is what really stands out. It doesn’t matter what room type you are in or if you tip or not, the service here is amazing. There are no “2nd class citizens”. The waiters/waitresses are constantly walking by asking you if you want drinks at the pool and at the beach. At the restaurants, I always had a fresh drink before mine was empty and they were very attentive to us. The food was really good. We ate at Taman Sari (Indonesian), Ginger (Japanese), L’Alsace (French) and L’Olivio (Italian) and La Havienda (Mexican). Our favourites were the Indonesian and Japanese. Italian and Mexican were also really good. The French was good, but not stand out. I would skip the buffet they have with the show. We did not enjoy it very much. For lunch we had the buffet but were not too impressed. We loved the food they had at the main pool every day. The tacos are incredible!! The main pool is basically split into 2 sides - the quiet side and the party side. We opted for the party side - music playing, activities going on, lots of people at the swim up bar having a great time!! I usually opt for the beach, but loved this pool. Always something to do. There is also the small silver pool and the golden pool (lazy river) that are both VERY quiet if you want total relaxation. The GO team was awesome. Loved playing Beach volleyball twice a day!! They would leave us the ball so that we could keep playing passed the allotted time. They were always walking around getting people to participate and announcing the activities at the main pool. A shout out to Memo and Jesus!!! The nightlife here is good. There is usually live music in the square before the show and also after the show. The imperial band is really good. We only saw a couple shows - they were ok. The Michael Jackson show was fantastic and I highly recommend not missing it. The resort was close to capacity, yet it never felt crowded or busy during the day or at night. Don Miguel’s was great for a before and after dinner drink. Some very cool drinks are made here. The martini bar outside the lobby was also good. The sports bar had playoff football on and it was packed. An excellent atmosphere for the games for sure!!! The one negative that stands out is the Coffee. It needs improvement. There are besides so machines in every room and in the lobby, but the coffee isn’t great. Cappuccino from the martini bar in the morning was good, especially with a shot of 1921 in it. But we love our morning coffee and were a bit sissPoibted by it. I hope that they seriously consider adding a coffee shop to this resort, that would make it perfect!! There are too many amazing things about this resort to let the sub par coffee bother us though. A lot of people we talked to that have been to Mexico multiple times said this is their favourite resort. This was our first trip to Mexico and would absolutely return to the awesome resort.

The Sens Riviera: Great Resort

Grounds well maintained. Rooms were nice, staff super helpful and friendly. Food was nice. Should have kept lobby bar open after 11pm. Could use more entertainment. Beach was nice and clean for swimming with young children.
