Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Absolutely beautiful!

The lobby as you arrive is massive with a beautiful marble floor, the staff at reception were warm and welcoming. As soon as you arrive they work very fast at getting you checked in and carry your luggage to your room. The grounds are impeccable with gardens and green grass along the walkways. The public areas (pool, restaurants, washrooms) are very well cleaned by the maids who are always friendly and smiling, sometimes singing. Our concierge Carlos was checking up on us to make sure we always  [... read more]had everything we needed and although we arrived very late, room service was fast and delicious even at 1am. The pool and beach were cleaned daily and the white powdery sand feels great on your feet. All in all this resort is wonderful and would return in a heartbeat.

Occidental Punta Cana: Good Value if you dont want fancy!!

Resort was clean, someone was always cleaning the bathrooms, especially at the beach. Grounds are well manicured. Pack your patience for service at the lobby bar. You will need to sweater when having dinner as all the restaurants and buffet are extremely cold.

Breathless Punta Cana Resort: Unforgettable trip!

Breathless Punta Cana was amazing! The grounds and beach were pristine and the rooms are very spacious and clean. The staff are what made this trip unforgettable; they are friendly and willing to help in any way at all. The entertainment crew ensured that there was never a dull moment, but there was always opportunities to relax on the beach or the main pool. I had absolutely no issues during my trip. Barcelo Bavaro Palace: Great resort that has something for everyone.

We loved the hotel it was very big so we did lots of walking exploring all the areas however, if you can’t walk there is a train shuttle that goes around. We had a junior suite room that was very nice and had a jacuzzi on the balcony which we enjoyed. The food at the buffet and restaurants was amazing and plenty of options. Staff was amazing and the hotel was very clean. We can’t wait to return.

Lopesan Costa Bavaro Resort: Major kinks to iron out

It's a smaller resort with about 1000 rooms. The hotel and grounds are beautiful, as was the beach. The food and drinks were very good. Staff was friendly. The resort offers 3 levels of service: "Unique", "Adults Only" and the rest of us. We were "upgraded" to a "Unique" room but were told we were not entitled to any of the "Unique" amenities, which are private beach bar/restaurant, private lounge, and private roped-off beach area. There were less than two dozen people who were actual "Un [... read more]ique" guests, so many other people were also upgraded (without the amenities) - mainly because the rooms were empty. This created problems for all of us. The beach area reserved for the "Unique" guests was the same size (we paced it off) as the area for the regular guests. So you had maybe 24 people in the reserved section, and then over 1000 guests crammed into the same sized area further down. Every morning, there were people arguing and trying to find chairs and spots to sit. There were simply not enough chairs, and not enough space for all the guests at the beach or at the pool. Unbelievable! You had to get up before dawn to get a chair, or you were out of luck. There are two beach bars, one for the "Unique" guests - which never had more than a few people (in fact, often more staff than guests), and a smaller one for all the rest of us. Can you see the problem? Another minor issue was the refrigerator. It never got cold. We brought it to the manager's attention, but nothing was ever done about it. Yes, the fridge is stocked with 2 beer and 2 coke every day - but it's warm. Yuk If people are looking for night entertainment, they won't find it here. There is a live band that plays from 8:30 to 9:30, and that's it. Also, the casino wasn't open.

Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa: Royalton Bavaro, Dominican Republic

Had a problem with check-in. Was supposed to check in at 3 p.m. Room wasn't ready until 4 p.m. Offered me late checkout but I was leaving after breakfast for a pickup back to Toronto. Service at Steakhouse first night was terrible. My order was taken but never say the waiter again after waiting 45 minutes and then asked to speak to Manager. My table was avoided as I was a single female. Also, at the bars, if it was between a male or female customer, the bartender would take order from male [... read more] first. Service was terrible. Good was good. Activites terrible. Would never go back to Royalton.

Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa: Good resort for families

The hotel was ok, I would upgrade next time I stayed for more space with two kids. I was happy to have block 19 which was close to the pools and the beach. However it was far from the lobby. Food was ok, nothing too amazing. I have been home for two days and the first day home I got sick. Not sure if it was the food I ate or something I picked up from the airport. Over all I would rebook at this resort but upgrade my room.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Good value

The beach is quite nice. The beach bar and pool bar are quite handy. Staff is good, any requests for services to the room were attended to quickly. Food was good, I felt comfortable eating just about everything.

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Great resort

We had a few hiccups at the beginning of our stay but still had a fabulous time, well maintained grounds and the food was amazing. I wasn’t impressed with the a la carte booking, when we first arrived they were all full, leaving us with very late bookings and who wants to eat a big meal at 9 or 9:30 at night especially for someone with stomach issues.

Riu Republica: Best Vacation ever!

Best vacation ever! The beach, pools and grounds all immaculate! We didnt attend the restaurants as the buffett met all of our food requirements. Our servers were the happiest people with super friendly personalities. Angel and Valentina! Yorgi looked after all of our pool side hydration and loved to call my husband "papa" very impressed with the whole vacation and we will be back!

Lopesan Costa Bavaro Resort: Good and bad

Hotel rooms were good. New and in good shape was good bedding and very satisfactory bathroom shower area. Pool area was very nice but very important lack of lounge chairs. Also bar service and pool service was slow. All meals were good but not outstanding and service was slow

Breathless Punta Cana Resort: Great Resort

So let's start off with you get greeted with a fresh towel to freshen up! Very nice offer! They check you in fairly quickly and deliver your luggage to your room! The room was a little musty smelling but not horiable. The room I was in was nice needs a little touch up here and there nothing major or worth calling front desk about... The one down fall was my shower would not drain fast enough but it did get fix along with the tv remote not working couldn't turn on or off the tv. Not what I was expecting for the price I paid could have been better quality however the French and Italian restaurant where the best out of all of the restaurants. Now the party scene at this resort is great! Always had music going late into the night the theme nights and night club where great and the bar tenders where awesome this is where in my mind the resort stood out! If you are looking for a fun time and to let lose this is the place to go!

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Average

The hotel is average not a 5 star equivalent to mexico but ok. Food average and the same everyday. Entertainment was below average not professional at all. No room service for the price of the hotel it was not good rooms not close to the pool for a premium room and liquor was watered down as I am not heavy drinker but took alot of drinks to feel anything slow service at the pool bar

Majestic Mirage Punta Cana All Suite Resort: Amazing resort

The resort is excellent and staff works hard to keep it clean as well they remain friendly always offering Hola. If u go to the restaurants you will be lucky to have Sonny as a waiter. Manny was our butler during the week and he was great and very knowledgeable about the hotel and surrounding area. Will definitely return

Hyatt Vivid Punta Cana: Absolutely Incredible

The grounds are meticulously tended. The beach is continuously tidied of anything that is washed in or left on the sand. The lobby is warm and inviting with tropical ambiance. The rooms are a bit dated, though well cleaned. The beds are comfortable. The closet space is small. However, with the natural beauty of the resort we rarely spent time inside. The staff is absolutely INCREDIBLE. There isn't enough space to explain how amazing they are. They want you to feel more at home there than at h [... read more]ome. But at home we cook and clean, and our every wish is not answered. It makes returning home difficult and we dream to return already though it's been less then a week.

Riu Republica: Amazing resort Great staff

My wife and i stayed at the Riu Republica last week Jan. 30 to Feb.6 and enjoyed our stay very much.The staff and employees could not have treated us any better. The resort it self was kept amazingly clean and up to date with all of the facilitates kept spotless.For some reason the air conditioner was not working as good as it should have been. Paradisus Palma Real Golf and Spa Resort: Amazing Resort - Not too big!

I enjoyed this resort totally - she grounds were superb. the short walk to the beach was great. The staff was amazingly friends and I would recommend this resort to anyone. The pool was great and the service was excellent.

Grand Bavaro Princess: Amazing!!

No complaints on this resort, food was great, people were great, beach is amazing and drinks were great. My only recommendation is the Platinum should be 16+, the Platinum pool has no shallow end and little kids were in there with water wings, other pools and the water park would be better suited for the Children then the Platinum pool. It is a bigger resort but we never waited more than 5 minutes for a train.

Grand Bavaro Princess: Amazing resort

This newly renovated resort is one that you do not want to miss out on. Paying the extra for a Platinum room was well worth the cost. The beach, ocean and pools were perfect and the food was particularly good

Occidental Caribe: A great hotel with character

The grounds and access to the ocean, including views was absolutely stunning. The beach is a shimmering white, not even a hint of seaweed or debris anywhere. The Occidental Caribe is an older facility which is well maintained and has a flavour of the Dominican. There are s me other beautiful newer resorts but the Caribe has old work beauty & character. We enjoyed using it early morning and late evening. It is a family resort that accommodates everyone from young to more senior with a wide variety of things to do. There are 5 great a la carte restaurants, we tried them all and the food was great. It is a location we would go back to again.
