If you want a place that treats you like family look no further then Melia Cayo Coco. This was our second time to this resort and a lot of the staff remember you from the previous year. We have many so many new friends staff and people as this resort is small so you see these people everyday when you are there. This hotel is a 5 plus in our books.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Memories Flamenco
Our stay at the Flamenco was enjoyable. The beach was great, the top pool was great, however the lower pool was only filled with water not even halfway which made the pool virtually unusable by adults, unless you were on a raft floating around. The kiddy pool was full to the rim and looked nice.
The room itself was standard Cuban fare. The building we were in is starting to look dated. However, considering the hurricane, you never would have known that they had been through that.
The f[... read more]ood was standard fare, nothing fantastic but always something to eat. The public washrooms were not the best. Many times they would be closed and you would be forced to go back to your room, which could be quite the walk when you are at the buffet or the entertainment.
I never saw any entertainment on the beach. The entertainment at the pool was the same over and over. It wasn't the best. The nightly entertainment was pretty good.
Even though I am pointing out the negative things, I had an enjoyable time and would go back to the Flamenco again.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Beautiful Memories at Caribe
Feb 7_14
My husband and I took our very first vacation and we choose Memories Caribe. 3 other friends have stayed and loved it. Well we were not disappointed. From first arriving with dancers as a welcome off the bus to the great reception desk with extremely polite and helpful people. We had pre booked Diamond club and went straight to our room. We booked a pool view Jr Suite terrece. when we arrived to our room there was some issues with the air conditioner and lots of water was coming out b[... read more]ut a call to the front desk had someone there in mins..he did a few things and assured us it would be better...well after a few more mins unfortunately I was not at all comfortable and wanted to see about another room. The fount desk was amazing and had us in a beautiful balcony room closer to the ocean and it was perfect. Our bed was not new but comfortable, the bathroom was large with a door and always good pressure for the shower and hot water. As for the grounds they were so beautiful and we made sure we spoke to the gardners daily to tell them what a great job they have done since Irma. We brought alot of work gloves and gave them all away. The work that had to be done after Irma was massive and going here you wouldbt even know a F5 hurricane blew through there, with a few exceptions of new sod and small palm tress in some areas. The beach was breath taking and super clean. The staff was always helpful and things always to do down at the beach. Our bartender Wendy was amazing at rum punches thats for sure and the best pizza is right down on the beach ohhhh and fresh hot churros being brought right to you a few times a day was THE BEST. Also the long walks on the sand bar was most memorable and to see all the star fish and going snorkeling was so great The entertainment was second to none and there was fun and wonderful things to see and hear nightly from amazing dancers and water shows and karaoke nights to the foam dance party on the beach ..you are never wondering what there is to do. We of course we were all told about Cuban food...I found it great..yes the buffet has pretty much the same things daily but it was always good and fresh stuff from the grill and pasta bar or seafood grill you will most certainly not starve here. The staff in the buffets and A la Cartes were so helpful and poilte. I was always told that the people of Cuba are why people go there well they were sooooo right these people especially at Memories always go above and beyound for anyone and do it so graciously and politely and not like they were just waiting for a tip like other places in the Caribbean Ive been told. We were very busy doing alot of excursions so we missed 2 of our A la Cartes and only went to the Cuban one which I liked very much, my husband didnt but hes a wee bit picky...the 24 hr bar had THE BEST fries and their ketchup is good..was warned about it but it wasnt heniz but a damn good second thats for sure..drinks of course are pentlyful and delish..we loved the margaritas in the piano bar and pina colodas in the sports bar are amazing. Tony Tony at the sunwing desk was awesome he helped very much and we ended up very much enjoying Havana thoughly for our day trip and our off site supper at Lennys bar and grill and our horseback riding over at Flamincos. The bugs we heard can get bad but we had none but that could have been because of the wind...the weather was hot and beautiful usually a daily of 28 one morning of rain during breakfast and then gorgeous the rest of the day...animals at resort...I love them so not a problem but we did see a few cats that wonder around and yes even in the outdoor buffet eating area but they dont seem to bother anyone at all...the birds are great singers and do occasionally land on the backs of chairs looking for some food. The cleaning staff everywhere are constanly working and so poilte to always have a Hola for you.. (love it) our rooms had the most beautiful towel art..loved seeing each night we got back to the room. Meeting others there was a beautiful highlight and some have been there multiple times and for sure I can see why. Overall hands down I would visit Memories Caribe again as we loved it very much. The only tiny issue would be that I wish there was more info about Diamond club and how to access the perks..such as private dinner at the pool or private breakfasts we didnt know about these things until quite a few days in..I would highly recommend this resort to anyone who asks and for a first trip anywhere it was GREAT and I sure cant seem to get the Memories Caribe song and dance out of my head..lol..I even taped it to always remember lol. We thank you Memories Caribe..Adios for now

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Beautiful beach and people....however some serious septic issues!
This was our first visit to Cayo Coco -travelled last week of Feb 2018. This hotel has definitely come far in rebuilding according to others who have stayed in the past. However they have some serious plumbing/water issues. The public bathrooms were overflowing daily and closed constantly leaving only 1 available on the whole resort. Each day was a mystery in finding an open ladies bathroom that wasn't overflowing and very disgusting. (Only once I saw someone actually working in the bathroom s[... read more]o not sure how they are resolving this serious issue?) They finally posted a note for women to use garbage cans in each stall for t-paper which they should have up anyway! However, those were rarely emptied so that added to the mess and standing water! Water pressure was a problem too, shower did not work for 2 days. There is only 1 pool because the pool bar floor was redone and there was only a foot of water in it- Therefore the main pool was packed with everyone. The resort ran out of t-paper, water bottles were low, vodka & beer were not available for several hours until their supplies arrived. Looking at the positive, I hope our booking helped bring in some revenue to get them up an running - it truly is a beautiful spot and the people were very gracious and tried their best to accommodate. Here's hoping that in time they will be up and running smoothly. It is a small hotel with not a lot of activity(no bocce, shuffle board, ping pong, few activities) if you want to just relax at ocean and pool with little choices, then this is your spot.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Major water temperature/pressure issues
The hotel property, staff and food were wonderful. However, we were unable to have a decent shower as the water was cold and lacked any kind of pressure. Quite substandard for an Iberostar property (I have been to two others in Cuba).

Melia Jardines del Rey: Melia Jardines Del Rey
The resort was beautiful but very large and not equipped for all the people. The rooms were always very clean and maid service was excellent. Buffet was not large enough or open long enough hours to satisfy the flow of people. Most trays were empty as soon as they set them down, I waited 1 hours in the pasta line once I got it , it was worth waiting for . Then when you went to sit down to eat all you saw was a sea of dirty tables. Food was always cold by the time you got it. Not enough fres[... read more]h fruits and vegetables. No beach towels for 2 days. No vermouth for martini's. Line up for drinks always, not enough bar tenders. We found one place that was good for lunch by the pool it was excellent but had to wait in line to get in we usually didn't eat lunch until 2pm. the other snack bar didn't even acknowledge our entry and we waited 15 minutes no one came. The topper was that you couldn't flush you toilet paper down the toilets at all or it would back up. I felt I was camping at an outhouse.

Hotel Camino del Mar: My Cuba vacation memories
Well, typical of Cuba the white sand beach was wide and clean, the sun was bright and warm, the water was crystal clear and warm. The resort grounds needed some attention but this was understandable due to the hurricane damage. My room was in need of some T.L.C. some stucco pealing, drawer missing in dresser, toilet would not fully flush !!, but the room service / cleaning was good and my bed was comfortable and clean. Food and drink was what I expect from an "all inclusive", not gourmet but[... read more] adequate and eatable. The employees from the grounds maintenance, attendants, staff, and transportation was great.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Not the best
The resort is not in the best shape, needs a lot of upgrades and is really run down, it also has a lot of risk for injury exposure for being a family kid friendly resort. Some building are upgraded ours where not building 9 and 10 are where we stayed and they should not be used at this point, they are aweful. Toilets where disgusting almost all the time; no toilet paper , or even seats. With that being said positive note the staff where amazing; nice friendly Food was ok, not bad.

Tryp Cayo Coco: Great beach but resort not so much!
We had booked this resort based on recommendation from travel agent. Hotel was very old and dated. Although much has been done since Hurricane Irma I believe the hotel has much to improve as it appears that it was hurting before the storm. We booked premium ocean view. The view was breathtaking and the beach was incredible. With premium ocean view we were to have priority check in. This did not happen and we were last to be checked in. Upon arrival to room we were very disappointed. Front door [... read more]would only open a foot after forcing it. Cupboard doors would not close, tv had to be replaced as it would come on and off by itself on a channel that was not in operation so would screech, so had to unplug it. No towels including beach towels and fridge were not stocked as promised with premium package. We also did not have a phone in the room so would have to go to front desk to resolve issues. Customer service were very quick to change tv, stock fridge and towels apologizing for error. On our last night we had to be moved as our door could not open at all. We were moved next door and the room was so much better. We also realized we were able to breathe better making us wonder if the other room had mold in the air conditioning unit. Being that we booked premium we had ala cartel reservations for suppers each evening and one night a lobster dinner was included. We are so thankful for the ala carte resteraunts as the buffet was horrible. The food choices lacked variety, were cold and did not look appetizing. Service was horrible and you could finish your entire meal and never be offered a drink. Right outside the buffet and snack bar was a lagoon. The smell that came from this area was putrid and would turn you off of food! The men’s washroom outside these areas was also not working the entire week so the women’s washroom was used by. The ala carte resteraunts were very good. Service was wonderful and food was good and hot. The international was our favourite and we were lucky to eat there three times. Bar service was slow and drinks were never the same when ordered. Entertainment in the evening was good. Pool and beach area had no washrooms close to the area for people to use and it did appear that the pool may have been used as a toilet. Luckily we are beach people and the beach is just amazing. We could spend hours and since it was so large you felt like you were the only one there. We made the best of it but I cannot recommend this resort to anyone. Many may think I am being picky as “we were in Cuba†but there needs to be standards met to keep people safe ie) food prep, hygienic conditions.

Hotel Camino del Mar: Very pleased all around with our stay at the resort
The beach was wonderful. Food was plentiful and if you like seafood, very good. Staff were extremely helpful and pleasant. Rooms were clean and well kept. I had some very very itchy sand flea bites on our last day and first day home. I certainly will be going back again, for our 6th year there. I did have my towel stolen n the beach. However, because we were returning guests, the cost of the towel was covered by the resort and they also gave us 2 hours extended time on our room the last day for[... read more] free. Hotel Camino del Mar: Awesome resort and great staff
We found all areas within the resort very beautiful even after the recent hurricane. The food was great lots of choices even for us vegans! The beach was stunning and the dock was a great addition! Most of all the staff were very beautiful friendly people which made our stay even more special. We would definitely go again and recommend this resort! 5 out of 5!
We were bit disappointed at first as we went with 2 other couples whom were put in the same building while we were in a different building at the other end of the resort!
While they could not move us right away after 2 days they did relocate us with the other couples. We were extremely greatful.
The hotels and grounds did have some small issues but as we understand they are still recouping after the Hurricane, what we did notice is that they were always working hard to fix these issues, but o[... read more]verall the location was beautiful and the staff at the resort is what made our experience so memorable!
The BEACH!!! Was the most beautful thing I have ever seen. We could have sat on that beach forever.

Hotel Playa Paraiso: Needs tuning up
Great beach. Overworked staff. Food ....subpar at best. Sand fleas awful. Just rum and beer at beach. Pestana as an international resort operator...I expected more. Been to cuba 5 times and know what to expect. We tried a more "cost effective" resort and lost. To bad because the beach is outstanding and the staff really try their best to work with what they have.

Tryp Cayo Coco: Somewhat Disappointed
Might return if I thought the rooms were upgraded. I was in a ground floor room a five minute walk from the lobby. I had requested something closer as I have a back and neck injury, but the buildings closer were closed for renovations I assume. Lots of noise at night from the machinery on the beach, so was difficult to walk the beach as areas were cordoned off. Beach was great though compared to Ibostar Mojito where I stayed last year. Service at lobby bar was so slow, due to not enough sta[... read more]ff and the size of the bar.
