Melia Las Dunas: Good vacation!

We stayed in this resort 2 years ago and loved it, decided to come back. Since then the service and overall appeal has significantly declined. Things are old, dirty, not kept up. Beach: amazing; Food: enough that u are not hungry, but got tired of the same (no variety). Drinks: plenty, Amazing coffee at the lobby

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: OK Resort

We wouldn't rate this as a Five Star...it's more like a 3 or 4. The buffet was not very good, the Raquet Snack Bar was really good, the a la carte restaurants we very good. The service staff are fantastic very friendly and helpful.

Melia Las Dunas: Fantastic Vacation Experience

Beautiful beach with turquoise waters and white sandy beach. Definitely, need to try the fresh grilled fish at lunch the seafood place. The sports club was amazing too, had a great time playing pool with the whole family.

Melia Jardines del Rey: Great Family Vacation

We had a great time at the resort. Beach was perfect, both pool and beach always had enough space to easily accommodate the guests. We enjoyed the buffets more than the a la carte restaurants, especially the beach buffet at lunch. Very friendly and attentive staff and great live entertainment daily. Resort is suitable for children with a huge kids pool and kids entertainment nightly.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Amazing resort!

We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived that we were upgraded to Royal Service! Our room, the presidential suite, was very spacious, exceptionally clean and at a great location close to RS lobby, bar & buffet, and pool! The beach was awesome!! Overall we had a wonderful stay at the Paradisus Princesa Del Mar!

Paradisus Varadero: Amazing Hotel

We stayed at Family Concierge and the environment is really good. Everyone is so nice and helpful.The hotel has more than 8 restaurants giving great choices every night. Awesome beach and great swimming pools. A very nice place to relax with family.

Melia Jardines del Rey: Awesome beach experience!

This resort is a large and beautiful. Lots of walking which is great. Recommend bungalows near the beach to have a quiet sleep. The ones near the pool get really noisy at night into the wee hours of the morning. The beach is one of the most beautiful I have seen. Stunning colour and clear waters. Some seaweed but not constant most days beach was very clean, and we never had an issue finding a spot the chairs are plentiful. Same with pool. Always a spot to be found which was nice. Unfortunately we could not enjoy the entertainment because of the mosquitos, so I cannot comment too.much on the shows but the music was good.. Bring lots of insect spray and after bite to be safe. Bring lots of sunscreen because it is hot and there is none to be found on the resort!! If u do run out then a short bus ride into the town is doable and u get get good sunscreen there but expect to pay double for it!!! Do not exchange American money at home as they do not accept it anywhere. Buy your peso's here . They do have banks on the resort to change there as well. If u love horses they offer horseback riding on the beach which is truly a beautiful experience!! Just walk and look for the AmigoS with the horses. The Japanese Chinese restaurant on the resort is amazing so be sure to try it. Be aware that they will only allow u to choose 3 al la cart restaurant choices for ur stay and u must make reservations. The French restaurant is also good choice. The buffet is good too as they offer stations that cook fresh meats fish and pasta. The beach is heaven on earth. Be careful in the sand as there r broken shells and be careful in the water there are stingrays always shuffle just in case. The medical facilities are very good and always available. There is plenty of food and they offer it all around he resort...Beach pool and buffet. Some drinks are not available all the time but you can compromise. The only downfall other than the mosquitos is that we had to complain numerous times to have our rooms cleaned. In 7 days they cleaned maybe 3 times. Also found he rooms to be in bad shape for a newer resort. Truly is a beautiful island and a place that definitely shud be visited. I would return for sure.

Melia Marina Varadero: Fantastic resort

This resort was perfect, from start to finish, the staff was very nice, and the variety of food was great. I had a very nice time while I stayed there, I would love to come back, and would definitely recommend this resort to my friends!!

Sol Cayo Santa Maria: 1 week is not enough

Every review you read talks about this hotel needs a little TLC and that is so true but if you look closely you will see that they are trying. For example over the last couple of years people complained about the boardwalks to the beach, well while I was there they were just about to finish the last of 4 new boardwalks and after touring the three closest resorts they are the best of all three. The food is Cuba, I have been to Cuba 4 times and all at different places and only once found better. It is what it is, but you never go hungry. I have to say one thing, the management has GOT to get the birds out of the buffet hall. I am not fussy but it was just unacceptable to see a bird eating the hard boiled eggs at the buffet, can you say "cannabird" The staff are the most wonderful part of the resort, the welcome and smiles never stopped, they were super! The beach is beautiful as most of the beaches in CUBA are. Water was a little rough most of the days except for two calm days. The resort is a bit quiet but being 62 years old this was just fine for me. I won't mention all the other good things about this resort just check some of the other reviews for those details. If you are satisfied with nothing but the best do not go to this resort, but if you want a quiet relaxing low cost 3 star vacation give it a shot.

Melia Las Americas: Amazing vacation

After a 5 star resort stay in Mexico I was told to lower my expectations on Cuba as it would not be comparable. I would have to say for the most part that is not true. The Melia Las Americas was at least a 4.5 star resort. The food was amazing - yes I said amazing - The a la carte restaurants exceeded our expectations and the buffet was fantastic - they even changed out the food every day so you did not get bored with the selection. There is a 24 hr bar on site that has the best onion rings I've [... read more] ever had and the French fries are amazing. Raul and Simon at the lobby bar are show stoppers! The only down side I encountered referring to the rooms was the bathroom in the room we had was very outdated and dirty - not dirty in that it needed to be cleaned but hard water stains on the tiles that need to be cleaned weren't. The service is not what we expected either - compared to Mexico I would rate it a 4 in service - the people were friendly for the most part but never went out of their way until the last day when we left a bag of goodies for them. The Grounds are amazing and the beach is a 5+star except there is a small access point on one half of the beach that is public and it amazed us that the public comes on to the beach and takes the beach chairs from the resort to the public side and that the resort patrons are left with no where to sit while the security guards walk around and do nothing about it .... This was really only an issue on the weekends but still we paid a lot of money for the beach and someone should be policing that more effectively. Our Hola Sun rep was no where to be found - she was an hour late the first day and we looked for her to ask some questions on other days and never saw her again... Also be wary of the pick up time they note in the binders - our pick up was t 445 and they showed up at 4 we had top get dressed in the airport because we were still in our bathing suits, no shower salt water hair and skin for a 4 hour flight home was disgusting !! ...... Other then the few items noted here the place is amazing I would highly recommend it

Melia Marina Varadero: Good Resort

The resort was very nice and well maintained. The food was good just not a lot of fruits or veggies. The beach was amazing. The staff were not very helpful. Our door lock ran out of batteries and afterward the room keys only worked about half of the time. The room was a 10 minute walk to reception and we were not treated well when we woyld tell the staff.

Melia Cayo Coco: We love the Melia

We have been here a few times and are never disappointed. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel is clean. The food is pretty good. And the beach is great, you can walk for miles. It has been widened now with sand from the ocean and there are some broken shells in it so be careful walking. There are enough activities to keep busy if you like or you can just lounge about. The only problem was getting loungers around the pool. It was windy when we were there this time so a lot of peopl [... read more]e stayed by the pool as opposed to the beach. They did bring in some brand new white loungers and 10 new sunbeds though. The roof on the Cuban restaurant was damaged by the wind and was out of service until repaired. They have added soccer at 5:30 daily, it is played with staff at the back tennis court so bring good running shoes. The staff are pretty good players and all young...lol. This is not a party resort, it is an older age demographic...40 and up it seems. A good spot for a relaxing vacation.

Sol Cayo Coco: Generic Resort

The resort was fairly small but staff was quite courteous and usually willing to go the extra mile to serve you, especially if you tipped well. Entertainment wasn't too bad. The beach wasn't what we had expected. The sand was light brown and filled with a lot of seaweed. When we were in Veradero last year, the beach was full of bright white sand and long stretches of clear water. Not the case here. Hotel Vigia: Good Resort

Very nice beach. Food was good. Good selection, 2 nice a la carte restaurants. Staff was helpful. Great night shows and music. Very nice snorkelling trip by resort aquatic centre (not included in price). Good resort overall.

Melia Las Dunas: Great time away!

Our stay at the Melia Las Dunas was from May 4-May11, 2017. The weather was beautiful, sunny every day and 30+ degrees celcius each day. The cool ocean breeze made the sunny and warm weather very comfortable. The hotel staff were very friendly and accomodating. The food was nice and plentiful. Our room was a little worn, but comfortable. The property boasts an amazing swimming pool, great for kids. Plus, the layout of the property is very quaint, with lots of great walking paths. Melia Las Dunas: Great Vacation!

This was my third time at this resort. It is one of my favorite places to vacation. The food was amazing and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were comfortable. The cold beer and the hamburgers at the Beer Garden were excellent! The lobby is huge and open 24 hours. They serve the best specialty coffees in the lobby and we enjoyed them every morning. The animators were great fun and there was lots of dancing at night. The beach is second to none.

Paradisus Varadero: Upgrade to Family Service

There are two distinct parts to this hotel - the original side, which has beautiful beach front and quick access from the 2 story buildings located there, and the new side where the Family Service and Royal Service buildings are located, which are closer to a rocky area of coastline. You are never more than a ~500 meter walk from the beach however even at the furthest point. We booked in the original side of the hotel, but were not happy with our room and were given a $400 voucher to apply to an [... read more] upgrade, which we took, but had to pay an additional sum of money over and above the voucher. The upgrade was worth it, and I would recommend paying the extra to be comfortable in the Family Service section of the resort. The entertainment was outstanding, but there wasn't a great deal of nightlife. Food was good by Cuban standards and it was mango and guava season, which was a treat. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Melia Jardines del Rey: Melia Jardines del Rey- OK

The resort is great and very interesting excursion to Moron and Pilar beach. The room size is great. Nice beach The customer service and food can be improved. Resort in tropical like Cayo Coco should more fresh fruits for clients The major issue: MOSQUITOES. I have no enough word to express the need to curb the MOSQUITOES menace. I am very sure your organization is quite aware of this shortcoming. Paradisus Rio De Oro: Treated regally at the Royal Service

We keep returning to this resort because of its superb class of service, beautiful grounds and excellent cuisine. The rooms and amenities on the resort side named "RS" are indeed superior albeit more expensive than the main side. I feel safe and secure walking alone at night and one can always use transportation (electric carts) that are always available. The rooms are breathtaking. I especially love the outdoor Balinese shower. I am a strict vegetarian. When no veggie options are listed on the  [... read more]menu, the cooks at all the A la carte restaurants are able to accommodate my dietary needs with a smile. The resort has a botanical garden and friendly talented gardeners who work tirelessly to preserve the beauty of the resort. This resort is spotless is common and private areas. It is classy and totally relaxing!

Melia Buenavista: Horrible experience

Everything was bad from the beginning and on the second day we've moved to Royalton Cayo Santa Maria, which was perfect. Now, let's list some of the bad experiences we had at the Melia Buenavista: - After 2 hours on the bus, we weren't offered an welcome drink and a cool towel. - We were assigned a junior suite even if we paid for the "romance ocean view". We complained and they changed the room to one with a bad view of dirty rocks. - We had the dinner in a restaurant with no table cloth,  [... read more]only plastic place mats, we had to ask 3 times for napkins, we couldn't get cocktails from the server and when my husband went to the bar to get them, the server told us that we are not allowed to do that. - The breakfast was the same bad. The omelet was plain, the crepes were thick, burned, full of oil and syrup and nothing else. We asked for cappuccino which was on the menu and they said the machine is broken. I said "OK, regular coffee is fine", but the coffee never arrived. - For lunch we decided to try the pizza by the pool, but no luck here either. I eat only veggie pizza, but the only veggie they had were some pickled peppers, olives and mushrooms from the can. A fly got stuck in the pizza sauce and the cook just picked it up and continued with the pizza. - They have 3 beaches, but none is great. The sand is rough on 2 of them and the middle beach has a better sand, but the water is full of plants. - The mosquitoes are eating you alive and the shower on the balcony is unusable because of them. We've been to dozens of all inclusive resorts and never had any bad experience. And the funny part is that this resort was the most expensive one by a lot.
