Royalton Cayo Santa Maria: Royalton Cayo Santa Maria, best in Cuba

Second visit to this resort. Already planning on returning in 2024. Amazing staff, amazing resort, pool and beach. Food was fantastic no matter where you ate on the resort and always great selection. Butler service is amazing, we had the same Butler Omar Alcantara for trip two. He made our stay comfortable and took every opportunity he could to make it special as well.

Don Lino Hotel: This Hotel should be adveritsed as FOR SMOKERS ONLY. You CANNOT ecpect a lot from a 2 star Hotel

I have been at Don Lino more than 10 times in the last two years. Each time I commented about the lack of accommodation for nonsmokers. I was hoping that the management of Don Lino would designate a little space for nonsmokers. NO such a thing. I suffer from cigaret smoking, because of a bad allergy to cigarette smoke. People smoke even 1 meter from the entrance to the restaurant. All other hotels in Cuba have signs no smoking in all bars and lobbies. The resort was amazing. It was beautiful and clean. The entertainment was wonderful. We found a great variety of food between the buffet and the other restaurants.The lobster dinner was delicious. We had some challenges to find our favourite drinks like margaritas. While the resort experience was great, our flight timing and experience was awful. We lost the whole first day as we arrived in the resort around 11pm. The return departure was so late that by the time we got home, it was around [... read more] 5am. So we lost the whole next day due to exhaustion. Also our SUNWING rep, was not very responsive when we reached out to her prior to our trip.

Melia Marina Varadero: Beautiful beach, old resort needs work

The front entrance is renovated. The bar area has very old chairs. Can be improved, among 4 elevators only 2 works. It was not busy season but they could open more elevators. People at reception are nice and friendly They tried to help. The waiters are friendly as well.

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Very a good resort

Well, we been 12 days with my wife from August 25 to September 5 and there is nothing to complain. Everything (resort , rooms , food, beaches ,services and cleaning’s ) is been very good.. Would go again with no hesitation.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Great Stay

We stayed for a week, Pros 1. Location is amazing 2. Multiple bar and restaurants 3. Staff is too polite 4. Rooms are spacious with good view Cons 1. Food quality is average, more cuisine should be added with spices 2. Not much cocktails/mocktails available 3. Mosquitoes/flies all around on food and in rooms/no fly catcher anywhere 4. Bed bugs in the mattresses- badly bitten during stay 5. Less activities /food options for kids

Melia Cayo Coco: Fantastic trip Meliá Cayo Coco

This resort was great. The grounds were very beautiful and the beach was one of the best I’ve been to. The resort itself is very well run. The room was absolutely comfortable and very modern. The housekeeping staff did a fabulous job every day, the room was always spotless. As for the food, all meals were good. There was a wide assortment of options. The staff made the dining experience even better with their friendly manner. Massive shoutout to Sachy Perez, who was so great throughout my stay [... read more]. She always went out of her way to make sure every guest (including myself) was taken care of. Also, big thanks to Abel Gonzalez and the evening bar manager for their great service. From the many resorts I’ve stayed at in Cuba, this will be the resort I come back to.

Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: Everything was *okay* 3/5

View 10/10: Beautiful resort, beautiful beach, beautiful pool. It honestly captivates you. Food 4/10: Very bland. No spices. No ketchup, no potatoes, no milk. etc. They have a shortage of practically everything. However, the cooked chicken/beef was good, some soups were good, and the bread was great. Iberostar Selection Esmeralda: Beautiful Resort

Easy to get to all amenities. Things all vey close together. I do wish there were more choices than just the sports bar to eat for when you are arriving late in the evening. Wish they had more beach huts along with more beach chairs, found that it was always full in the morning. Not much to do in the area as still developing. Only other tip is that if you are coming in on a late flight, prepare to be eaten by mosquitoes at the airport. Grand Memories Varadero: Tired Resort.

Very tired feeling resort. We were suppose to be allowed to check in at 4pm, our rooms weren't ready until 6ish. Rooms were falling apart and 2 out of the 3 rooms we had, had a bad mold smell. None of the safes even worked. We also lost power in one of our rooms. Many little things were out of order. (Waterfalls etc) The buffet was pretty bad, all the alacarte restaurants served the same things prepared differently. Seemed like they had a shortage of food. Memories Trinidad Del Mar: Amazing Trinidad

Amazing food, staff, and the resort! I spent there the end of the August of 2023. Local staff are very helpful and friendly. Food is the best compare to the other Cuban resorts. Trinidad Memories Del Mar is located a round the mountains which makes this resort spectacular beautiful.

Club Kawama: You get your money's worth

This was our 6th visit to Kawama. We know that this is a 3 ⭐️ and know what to expect. The rooms are outdated. The buffet is so so. The A la carte dinners are much better and offer a higher quality of food. There are days when some food and drinks are not available but this happens all over cuba. On the up side, the beach is truly amazing. There are 2 pools. The staff go above and beyond to make your experience at their hotel a pleasant one. There are many repeater customers. August was not [... read more] a good time to go. The temperature was extremely hot and most of the customers were locals on vacation . This hotel is close to many restaurants on the main street and a few steps from the double decker bus. The currency rate appears to change every other day. Best to exchange money on the ride to your hotel and at the market. Avoid the bank. Better to bring loonies and twoonies and $5's. Tipping a$5 bill is a lot right now. The staff may ask you to change the coins into dollar bills. Remember to bring new bills without folds or rips. All in all we really enjoy this hotel and have made many friends over the year. Best time to go is between November and April. Enjoy!

Vila Gale Cayo Santa Maria: Beautiful resort

Clean and comfortable hotel, amazing firm beds .Grounds were beautiful and well kept. Pool clean and fresh. Food average for Cuba never starved . Staff wonderful always going above and beyond to satisfy guests .Drinks amazing especially the pineapple vodka and pina colada’s slush. Best beach ever , calm and clear but may encounter sand flees. Overall this hotel deserves a 4 star !

Playa Pesquero: Love it!

This is my third time at this resort and it was a joy to return to Playa Pesquero! The people, the ocean and a friendly atmosphere bring me back. I enjoyed the spacious room (all my requests about the room location have been honoured by the travel agent and by the hotel staff), wonderful shows, cappuccinos, conversations with local people, well-educated and polite staff, beautiful picturesque views. I just love this place and want to come back.

Staff are very friendly and don't demand tips, contrary to other comments. I recommend tipping because they work very hard. Had too many issues with wifi, and reserving food places within the resort. But aside from that, great experience!

The rooms were very nice and clean kept very clean every day. The service was very nice friendly staff at all times I was there for you when you need something. The two pools were really nice. Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: disappointed

I was traveling with my daughter and her 3 year old son. This was my 7th time at this hotel. The first rooms we got were in buidlings 21, my daughters room was ok but phone didn't work and no water. My room had a stained bedspread, dirty glass table top, no toilet paper. Moved us to 2 other rooms in building 25. My room was ready and was good. My daughter and grandsons room was not ready and we went back to pick up keys at 5:00. When we got to her room there was No bedding, all the small furn [... read more]iture had been pushed into the bathroom, and the fridge was pulled apart. Never did they offer to drive us to any of these rooms. I called the front desk and told them the room was not good, They said they would give us two more rooms. I said can you send someone with the keys and take us to the new rooms. My daughter went to check out these rooms before we hauled all of our luggage there again.. These rooms we at the far end of the hotel, rooms 3623 & 3624 were better. All this back and forth made my arthritis flare up. I was in pain for 4days had a hard time sleeping. we found out that the building we were in only had 1 other person, there was no outside lighting. At night you could not see anything pitch black. - There is no hand soap in the bathrooms. - No hot water. - Rooms were not cleaned only came in to make beds and empty garbage can. - There is No toilet paper in common areas, or hand soap. - Twice a day without any warning they would use a truck to drive by whether you were walking or not and would spray a fogger of bug spray. We had to run for cover with my 3 year old grandson. - One day when leaving the kids pool a truck came flying around a blind spot and all most hit us.. I had to yell out at them. - Food was not good very limited. Drink very limited.

AMAZING beach & water - crystal clear, plenty of fish. Resort OK, nothing special, although pretty new (built just before 2020) is plain and ugly, looks unfinished, especially the big swath of land between the buildings and the beach, scorched grass and nothing else. Everything else (bars / restaurants / food) is waaaay below standards, even for the low standards one expects in Cuba... We were unlucky enough to be there (the last three days of our vacation) during the "Santa Clara Music Fest [... read more]" and everything went from bad to worse! The hotel filled with Cuban guests (went from around 45% to more than 100%, they had to send guests to other hotels as far as Cayo Coco in the middle of the night!) - if before the food was bad, at least there was food... The last 3 days were a complete mess everywhere, not enough of everything, overcrowded mayhem is how I would describe it. Huge lineups to enter the buffet, only to find empty trays of food, with boiled plantains, potatoes, rice and pasta being the only options available - plus a mess everywhere. Trying to get a drink in the evenings at one of the bars was a futile exercise too... Luckily they had Pringles and crackers and plenty of Crystal and Buccanero at the hotel shop, so we made it :)... I suggested they order some "I Survived Sirenis" t-shirts - the most appropriate souvenir one could buy after a vacation with Sirenis! Look for something else please - not worth taking the risk with this hotel. Happy travels!

The hotel was advertised as 4.5 star. The service was not. First when I checked into the room, there were no towels at all except for a foot towel in front of the bath. I told the front desk and half an hour later when I was back in the room, they had placed bath towel in the room but no hand towel. The next morning I walked to the front desk and they very politely apologized and ensured me that it will be there. I talked to the front desk the second day to no avail. Then on third day I asked straight for the manager, and he again apologized and ensured me. To no avail. On the second day I dropped some drinking water and I used the foot towel to clean up the mess and left the wet foot towel there and also informed the manager in my conversation that the foot towel has not been replaced and the mess is still there. Short story, they finally removed the wet foot towel on day 5 with no replacement so each time I wanted to get out of the showers, I had the likelihood of a fall. For the whole 7 days, I had no hand towel. Additionally, they never changed the bath towel during the 7 days. Easy to fix, but I do not understand why they did not.
