Grand Palladium Select White Sand: Nicest resort I have been to

There is nothing about this resort that was not fantastic. The buffet was awesome and the hostesses did a great job accommodating our large group whenever we showed up. The breaded chicken cutlets with waffles proved to be a big hit. The New Year's Eve buffet was an actual feast! We were impressed by the amount of time the staff spent cleaning and the resort was spotless. The staff were also friendly and accomodating at all times and the service was great. Even though the resort was fully  [... read more]booked it seemed like we had the place to ourselves. Rooms were spacious with lots of TV channels available. Great job! The only other comment I would make is about the massages provided by the spa. The prices were higher than we normally pay in Canada and we were told that an RMA number would be provided so the massage could be covered by our employment benefit plans and that this would be provided at checkout. This was not true and no RMA numbers were provided so be aware of this.

Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa: Royalton Riviera Maya

We stayed over the holidays for New Years. Service was awful. Food was good. Facilities were clean and okay. We had our daughter who had food restrictions (Gluten) and they made it VERY difficult for us. We even upgraded to Diamond Club and that did NOT improve the situation. Waste of money... never going to Royalton branded hotel again

Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya: Not disappointed

Spent the New Year Hollidays at the Valentin Imperial. Building 4 was at a perfect location, beside a pool, close to beach and main building. Service is good and professional. Best food, Mexican Restaurant for sure. Great taste, big portions and great service. We also tried all the restaurants and found the Indonesian to be the least attractive. Depending on your taste. It is only one negative:The chair game...the management has to deal with this ASAP. We witnessed couple of occasions were people almost trow punches.

El Dorado Royale: Fantastic Time!!

We had a great time. This is the second time we have visited this resort and I was not disappointed. We have never returned to a resort before, and I say We would come even come back a third time. We brought our freinds with us, on our recommendation, so we were a little worried. But that worry was unfounded, because they loved the resort! The food was great! If you are a foody, then I would definetly try this resort. The buffets changed daily and did not serve the "same old, same old" everyday. [... read more] That was a nice change from the last couple resorts that we had visited. I was actually looking forward to what was on display everyday. Loved all the restaurants :) The hotel grounds are very well kept. The room was clean. Most of the hotel staff were very friendly, (with the exception of a couple people who were not very engaging and did not smile). The only downside were the glasses left at the entry to our room and the cleaning cart that we had to navigate around "every time" we came back to our room. The entrance was a little cluttered. There were glasses, napkins, bottles, room service trays etc etc. I think the resort staff should take note of this, because this was the only negative we had for the week and this stuff should have been attended to immediately :( We had a great week and would definitely come back for a 3rd visit.

Iberostar Selection Paraiso Lindo: Enjoyable resort!

The grounds were beautiful and quite large so we could go for a walk at night. The gym had great exercise classes. The pools were enjoyable. There were many families of all ages and there seemed to be something for everyone. They were very helpful with food allergies. It was lovely and we would return.

Ocean Maya Royale: Nice Resort

We were at this resort for 9 days to Jan 4, 2020. It is adults only and the operators did a good job of catering to the crowd. Food is good and lots of live entertainment each evening. We do not hesitate to recommend this one.

Grand Palladium Select White Sand: Great Family Vacation

We were a group of 20 over New Years so varying in age from 1 to 71. There was something for everyone. The resort was large but the shuttle service was great too. The beach was rocky on the White Sands side so we used the pools quite often, especially with the little ones. We hit the Colonial beach a couple times, the water was beautiful! The bus ride was long, approx 1.5 hrs.

Barcelo Maya Caribe: Great resort !

Visited the Barcelo Maya Caribe resort on December 21st to January 4, 2020. This resorts gives you access to 3 other resorts the Maya Beach, Colonial and Tropical. This resorts is huge, it has many a la carte restaurants, Japanese, Spanish, Seafood, Steak etc..The 24 hrs sports bar called Strikers is very nice, lots of large TVs and big screen and has 24 hrs snacks like hot dogs, hamburgers, fries , wings and cheese sticks. The buffet was also very good, lots of selection and drink were self se [... read more]rve like beer draft, coffee machines, mimosa. The room was basic but ok and nothing fancy. The only thing that is really bad is the check in which took 1 hour and I was the first in line. The grounds are well maintained, the pool are all great, there is even a lap pool which was nice and also a small Adults only which was very nice to get away from the kids. The beach was ok but you need water shoes there is some areas where there are less rocks. There is plenty to do like bowling, mini golf, surf rider, zip lining etc at an additional cost. You can get discount on the bowling from 10 am to 1 PM which is 2 for 1. The mini golf is free till 7 PM. There is free Wifi at the mall from 10 am to 5:30 PM. The service was ok.

Riu Yucatan: Disappointed

Upon arrival to the Riu Yucatan we were told there was no staff to assist with luggage. We had 2 rooms for our family of 6 on the second level. There are no elevators so we had to carry the suitcases up the stairs. We expect more from a 5 star resort. The fridge in one of our rooms did not work. We tried using the phone in our room many times to inform staff but no one answered calls. We told staff throughout the week but it was never fixed. So the fridge was filled with all inclusive beve [... read more]rages but we never drank the warm beer and sodas. The liquid soap in the shower was only partially full. It ran out after a couple of days and was never refilled. Tried calling to have it refilled but no one answered. The air conditioning was extremely loud and set to a very cold setting in both rooms. We could not adjust it. Again, tried to call for someone to adjust it but no one answered. Throughout the night we would alternate opening the patio doors to warm the rooms up and closing them to cool the rooms back up. We booked one night at the Mexican restaurant. It was a disaster. There are 2 seatings. We were only able to get the late seating. We have 4 kids and yet were the last table served. By the time we received our main course, other parties were already done their desserts and had left. Our kids became very grumpy, they were tired. We ended up cancelling our dessert order because it was so late. We ate one night at the Italian restaurant. The menu was very limited and the portions were small. We all preferred the buffets. The weather was perfect, the beach was beautiful. The pools were great. The staff at the buffets and bars were friendly and helpful. The buffet food was very good. Unfortunately 5 out of the 6 family members got diarrhea. We suspect it was due to exposure to the water .... brushing teeth? Ice cubes? On our final day, the kids and I had cleared out of our rooms by 11:30 and waited in the lobby for my husband. He had a tough time leaving the room due to the diarrhea. When we got to the front desk to check out we were told that we had to pay an additional hour for each room for being late. My husband and I travel regularly with work and stay at 5 star hotels across North America. We have never physically had to check out, an electronic bill is always sent. I realize now that going to the desk is a procedure to have wrist bands cut off at all inclusive resorts. As first timers however, I would expect some leniency. And I would expect the front desk staff to be very clear upon check in of the late charge policies. For customer satisfaction, a charge for one late room charge instead of two, especially considering the one room was empty before check out time, would have been reasonable. The front desk staff member was very stern and dismissive about our situation. Very unfriendly. A very disappointing way to end our weeks stay. Our shuttle was not picking us up till 6pm so we asked if there was luggage storage. There was. Of course we had to take it to the room ourselves. The room was an unlocked room down a low traffic hallway. No lock on the door. Anyone could walk in and out of the room. A courtesy room was available to shower and change but closed at 3pm. Again, our shuttle was at 6pm. So we did not use the courtesy room. We loved México, really enjoyed our excursions off site. Sunwing staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The Cancun airport was effortless. We will definitely return to Mexico but will not be returning to the Riu Yucatan.

Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya: Awesome Resort!

Beautiful resort with well planned and landscaped pathways right down to the speakers disguised as rocks. Hotel buildings were only three stories high and hidden from view by lush, natural landscaping. The beach area was long with many loungers and the best bartenders around; the next pina colada was only moments away. Guest rooms were spacious, comfortable and extremely clean. We especially LOVED the Imperial Band and they are actually the reason we decided to spend New Year's at this resort. I have been at this resort twice and would highly recommend it to all my friends

Grand Sunset Princess: Large, busy resort

This resort was exactly as advertised. Good food, friendly staff, lots of wildlife (monkeys, Coatis, Iguanas. Pelicans etc.) Expect to do a lot of walking since it is about 900 metres from the Restaurants to the beach. Golf cart transportation is available.

Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun: Very Disappointing

I will never go back to the Royalton Rivera Cancun Hideway ! The staff in the hotel is not friendly or helpful! The cleaning staff is very nice and the rooms are very clean and the property! They staff in the Royalton only cares about selling you shares for you to return to the diamond club and only if you stay in the diamond club you get exceptional service other wise no one cares about your needs or complaints! Iberostar Waves Paraiso Beach: Great resort and amazing staff

Great hotel with lots to do and wide selection of restaurants to choose from. Location is within 30 minutes from the cancun airport which is convenient. The beach was crowded but very nice and the pools were amazing definitely the best of the various resorts we’ve visited. The resort staff was incredible especially the entertainment team who always had lots going and and did a great job interacting with people. The shows were top notch especially the New Year’s Eve show and after party.  [... read more] The resort is large but never felt busy (except the beach) even though it apparently full. Only 2 areas for improvement were the rooms are a little dated and not as nice as other places we’ve been and the the Paraiso beach doesn’t give you access to other resorts for drinks and food (we didn’t know this going there but likely this was our fault for not reading up on the resort because everyone else seemed to understand and accept this). This wasn’t a major issue since there was lots to do at our resort but if your thinking to venture over to the lindo or maya resort this may be something to consider. Would definitely return to to this hotel.

Barcelo Maya Riviera: Exceptional Resort !

We loved the resort ! It was always clean! Everyone at the resort were very friendly and helpful! The food was amazing! Buffet had so much selection each day , you can’t get bored of the food. The restaurants were flavourful as well and the chefs were accommodating which was lovely . The beach was beautiful ! Some parts did need water shoes but overall it was perfect . I give this resort a 10/10 we both have nothing negative to say about any of it. The theatre always had something on and on certain days they also provided buffet and it was really good and a lot of variety ! We have already discussed going back ASAP because we were beyond happy with everything this resort had to offer ! It being adult only was a plus !!

Barcelo Maya Palace: Large kid friendly resort

The good: Food is average for the price. Great selection but typical resort quality, not much taste. Plenty of beef, chicken, fish, shrimp etc.. Lot's of space, chairs, activities for kids. Beach is wide, sandy, and shallow and no seaweed problems during my stay. The bad: Service is slightly below average for Mexico. Most staff really just can't be bothered. Room was often not made up, missing towels, etc.. No "towel art". Calling for service was always "we'll send someone" who never sh [... read more]owed up. Reception often does not answer the phone. They have obviously been told that they should deal with problems by agreeing with anything the guest says and then promptly ignoring it. Rooms are typical 3* beach resort. Clean but not impressive. Because it is a good resort for kids there are a lot of them and the rooms have terrible sound proofing. There is a lot of screaming and running. Entertainment at the Palace is poor, high school production quality, but there is better available at one of the other resorts. You have to pay (a lot) for wifi unless you are "Premium Level". Decent quality alcohol but wine is usual cheap resort stuff.

Paradisus Playa del Carmen: Excellent resort

WE travelled in many different all inclusive, 5 stars.Our expérience at Paradisus Esmeralda Satisfied all of our expectations.We were very satisfied with all aspect of the resort.Amazing service, very professional and pleasant staff. Food and service at all restaurants and buffet excellent Nothing negative to say. Rooms very clean .

Grand Sunset Princess: Amazing Christmas Holiday

The resort put on a fantastic New Year’s Eve party for all ages including food and entertainment. The resort was back to normal by morning. Impressive! The entire week was great from food to beach.
