Excellence Punta Cana: A 5-star experience!

Positives - Superior to excellent staff. Food choices & quality first-rate. Very good evening entertainment - don't miss the Queen tribute! Worthwhile to upgrade to Excellence Club - pools, beach service, exclusive restaurant, higher quality booze & amenities. Downsides - Most of the beach not swimable because of nasty surf & undertow.

Hyatt Vivid Punta Cana: Exceeded my expectations

I have been to punta Cana before and I wasn’t to thrilled but Dreams palm beach was a nice smaller resort that was very clean and the staff were amazing. Highly recommend this resort if you like smaller resorts. No reservations required for any of the 5 restaurants. Sea side grill had very good steak and seafood. Transportation to and from resort was very good. Only thing I didn’t like was no live entertainment in the main lobby and the pressure to sit through a time share presentation. Impressive Punta Cana: Amazing Resort

The grounds, rooms, were awesome!!! Pizza bar was sooooo good!! My only complaint is they closed down all the pools at 6pm and all the bars except for one—The Lobby Bar! Which unfortunately always had a huge lineup and only 2 bartenders! Other than that we loved it! Def would book again

Excellence Punta Cana: Awesome Resort

We just returned from our 3rd trip to Excellence Punta Cana and they did not disappoint. Everything is just kept so clean inside and out. The staff is very friendly and helpful.Special thanks for Reyue in the office for her help with getting our boarding passes and to Melanie who kept our room impeccable.

Catalonia Royal Bavaro: Good value for the $$'s if you're looking to just relax

Our 1st all inclusive resort (other than a cruise). Rooms were large and kept clean, altho' a bit tired (sliding doors to closet and especially to the patio were very stiff; shower floor not well sloped to the drain). Brought my golf shoes as the resort offered one free round per day at their adjacent course (club rental & carts extra), but was not able to book until after 11:30 on any day so we did not due to afternoon temps. I had emailed the company about 2 weeks prior to arriving to inq [... read more]uire on golf but had not received a reply, and therefore had not pre-booked prior to arriving. So if you're looking to golf, make sure you have this pre-arranged. Very disappointing to me on this issue. Staff are friendly (we made sure to bring a large # of $1 bills to keep the tips flowing) and those doing the bar tending and evening activities were engaging. Beach activities included Hobie's (only 2 of the 4 were in operation and we used them a fair bit), kayaks and apparently snorkelling, altho' I'd not waste too much time on the latter at that location - nothing to see. I'd recommend they get some paddle boards as the location had a few very calm days on the water. I also saw some persons doing scuba, but again, this is not a great location for that. So we enjoyed the beach which was well raked daily by staff to keep the weeds at bay. Two pools, one with a swim up bar that was active in the afternoons - dance lessons, etc. Food was fine, and I'd steer more towards Thalassa than any other of the restaurants there. Sushi at the beach was a nice offering, the Japanese restaurant was disappointing (weak showmanship and very salty), steakhouse was satisfactory. Casino was small and not anything to get worked up about. All in all it was a good stay for the $$'s, and a good winter get-away, but I'd have preferred a bit more to do other than sit my butt on a much sought after lounger - I got thru 5 books while there.

Barcelo Bavaro Palace: Second visit, and not last for sure!

A lot of thing to do with the very active 5 years old boy. Hotel is big, but once you get familiar with the layout everything is very convenient to get to. Nice evening entertainment, restaurants selection, shopping area. Food is ok. Stayed in the building 5, nice clean room, patio with jacuzzi and ocean view. Kids club is free, spacious inside and outside playground. Kids water park, Pirate Ship park is extra fee though. Not all things were working this time. I wish they have free wi-fi in the most public areas, not only in the Casino. We bought room wi-fi, was ok, but limited for one device. Another downside is NOT free room service, as all other hotels have.

Royalton CHIC Punta Cana: Great resort

Resort was great , food was the best Ive had at an all inclusive! Room needs a re vamp and time share rep aka concierge was quite pushy. Staff was super friendly and service was quick! Otherwise we had a great time

Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa: Top Family Friendly resort

Absolutely stunning resort. Staff were all wonderful and trustworthy and somehow remembered everyone’s names. The kids were so impressed. So much to do. So much variety. Food at the buffet was so good that we never felt the need to do the a la carte. We did end up trying Hunters - we ended up waiting 1.5 hrs to accommodate 16 ppl. That was a big downer for us since we had 8 hungry and tired children. Food was mediocre. Score bar food was meh. Enough free activities by the beach. Beach was superb. Will definitely be coming back.

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Fabulous!

This was our 5th time at this resort!!! Just love it!! The rooms, food and staff are all wonderful. The beach is amazing! We walk over an hour in the morning then again in the afternoon. After that we go to the swim up bar in the pool before going out for dinner and entertainment. Excellent resort!

Barcelo Bavaro Beach: Amazing Adult Only Resort

Visited this resort for a week Jan. 27, 2020 to Feb. 03, 2020. Had wife ,my brother and 4 sisters and there spouses party of 12. Great weather 7 days in the 28 deg range. Had 5 great Al a Carte dinners. No complaints as it met all of our expectations. 4.5 to 5 stars. Was nice to stay at a quiet resort but visit the Palace for the entertainment. Alexander in guest services was very helpful in making our trip the best it could be.

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: OK resort

The grounds and public areas were clean and well taken care of. The food could have been a lot tastier and more variety. Pina Colada was a cheap mix. Restaurant food was not much better and the portions were small.

Riu Republica: Truly a 5* resort!

The food quality and selection was unbelievable, the grounds were spotless. Short drive from the airport, 3 swim up bars, good entertainment, twice weekly off resort sponsored (free) parties, great friendly staff and a beautiful white sandy beach. Just be weary of the waves, thos area of the beach is a little rough. Would definitely recommend!

Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa: Amazing Resort!

Recently stayed at the Royalton with a group of 12 people at the end of January. We loved this resort! Rooms were clean and nice, always had hot water and fridges were stocked everyday. The beach was beautiful, though it was hard to find chairs unless you put your towel down early in the morning. Pools were clean, lots of chairs regardless of the time of day. Food was great, we loved the Brazilian steakhouse and the Asian a la cartes. We also loved having the food truck right by the  [... read more]pool, most of our lunches were from there. Sports bar was a riot at night when the karaoke was on, they also had live bands at the martini bar every night which was great. Only complaint was that with such a big group it was hard to get into the a la cartes at night, but did not break our trip. Service was good, some bars were better than others. Lots of stuff to do, lazy river, wave runner etc, especially for families, next time we are bringing the kids. Will definitely be returning to Royalton Bavaro!

Excellence El Carmen: Even Better 2nd Time Round

Second visit to Excellence El Carmen and it surpassed expectations again. Food, service, ambiance, beach ... the whole package was 5 stars. The spa has one of the best hydrotherapy programs we've ever been to (and we've done a few!) Shout outs to Kinmay, Francheska, Andres, Oswaldo, Alma, Dianne, Jennifer, Zobeida, Diosmery, Grace for making our vacation "Excellent".

Riu Republica: Awesome Resort!

Riu Republica is an amazing place to stay at! It's grounds are massive and nicely kept. There are many pools to choose from depending on your mood of the day and the beach is just steps away! The pools could have been cleaned more frequently. The nightlife at the resort is awesome as they have shows/dances/parties each night and there is also a club that opens at 11pm. Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Beautiful Resort!

The grounds, restaurants, our room and beach were all beautiful and very clean. We found booking a la carte dinners frustrating. We love the dinning out experience and found even though we were booking within an hour of checkin, places were no longer available and if they were they were booking between 8:30-9:30pm. When we would walk by the restaurant, half the tables would be empty. The best was the Brazilian meat place and Mashua Nikkei. It was our first time in Punta Cana so maybe it’s normal but there were a lot of people trying to sell you something. Overall it was a good stay but I wouldn’t rush back.

TRS Turquesa: Beautiful resort!!

The TRS Turquesa is a beautiful resort! The rooms were very nice and clean. We had a swim up in building 54 (near the back but only 3 minute walk to the lobby). The only downside to the room I found was the shower. Good pressure and heat but I didn’t like that there was only a wand vs shower head in ceiling. It would be nice if items were labelled better at the buffet (or if they had a vegan section – maybe one day :) ) The Indian restaurant was yummy (the chef came to our table to discuss what vegan dishes we could have, that was nice!) Italian resto was good as well, yummy wood oven pizzas. We checked out CHIC Cabaret show – definitely worth seeing, very fun! I believe bookings after 2019 guests have to pay $20 ( it’s more if you are not TRS hotel – not sure it’s worth more than $20 though) This was our first time at TRS and we will definitely go back!

Grand Memories Punta Cana: When can I go back!?

We booked this resort during the Black Friday deals. Originally looking at the Royalton but were able to get Grand Memories for a better deal so we went for it. This resort is absolutely beautiful. The grounds are so well kept, it is very clean and you can tell the staff take great pride in its presentation. We stayed on the Grand Memories Punta Cana side, but you had to walk over to the Splash side for the buffet and social plaza for shows so we spent most of our time on the Splash side. The wa [... read more]ter park is so much fun, even for a 28 & 30 year old, I think the adults were having more fun then the kids! All of the staff (entertainment, servers, maids, front desk) were so friendly and helpful. Accessing the beach from the Royalton side was very easy, and if you didn't want to take a trolley the walk was very quick, and if you go early enough you get to see all of the peacocks and ducks that call that area home. The food was quite good, always a good selection at the buffet and the Italian a-la-carte was delicious. Of all of the resorts I have stayed at while travelling this is definitely my favourite and I would go back tomorrow if I could!

Hyatt Zilara Cap Cana: Amazing resort

The resort is spectacular! It’s brand new and beautifully designed. The room was spacious with lots of storage and double sinks and vanities which proved to be helpful for two woman with lots of products. The food was excellent and the staff were helpful and courteous. The beach is unbelievable with just a small amount of seaweed. There is not much in the way of entertainment so if that’s what you are looking for, you may be disappointed.

Riu Republica: Fantastic resort

I love that this resort is large, but doesn't feel it. There is so much selection in terms of pools, restaurants, bars and activities. All of the staff is friendly and helpful. They are literally always cleaning the grounds, particularly the washrooms, pools and dining areas. Second time I've been to this resort and would happily return. Nothing bad to say really.
