Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: Best Vacation Yet!!

We travelled to Be Live Marien, Puerto Plata, DR. The resort was way better than expected. The room was very clean, stocked with water, pop, and beer daily. We observed them cleaning the rooms and they did a fantastic job. The food was amazing, different buffet theme every night, complimented by fresh salad and fruit, both my 8 yr old and 14 yr old were happy, especially with the snack bar, burgers, fries, amazing chicken nuggets and chicken wings. My only issue is the local people walking the beach trying to get you to shop at their store, to aggressive. The Entertainment was excellent, great group of talented young people running the activities and nightly entertainment. " Aye Chihuahua"!! We will definitely come back to this resort in the near future.

Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: Awwesome resort

Rooms were fabulous.. Very clean and safe..great service.. Alot of steps to walk but shuttle sevice was great..excursions were great as well as the entertainment..staff was friendly and helpful.. Restaurants were well organized and food great..

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Wonderful Vacation!

My husband and I stayed at the Iberostar from April 3rd to the 10th. We had a room overlooking the pool in building 7 on the second floor, as requested. We found the service wonderful from the front desk staff to the bartenders! The layout of the resort is great - not very large and easy to find your way around. The food was better than most all-inclusives we have stayed at and the nightly entertainment was above-average too. We hired a taxi and took the cable car up the mountain which was close by and enjoyed some amazing views - well worth checking it out! We liked the beach as it was wide and offered lots of areas for shade or full sun. The pool was very nice as well - large with a whirlpool in the center and a great swim up bar. We are confident we will return to this resort!

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Awesome Resort!

Beautiful resort, clean, friendly staff, good food and very energetic entertainment staff. We even liked the ride from the airport to the resort, it gives you another perspective of people who live in the area, the driver even stopped to re-stock whoever wanted another beer, very impressed. While at the resort, staff were very accommodating and they work very hard to impress, always making sure we had enough to drink and that we had everything we needed.

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: First Class All The Way!!

From the delicious food to the clean room (housekeeping visits twice daily), the beautiful beach, friendly staff and the many activities offered by the hotel, this resort was amazing!! Did I mention how good the food was?? Best I've experienced at an all-inclusive yet!! The excursions available we're fantastic as well. Will definitely be going back!

Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: Resort was cosy, quite small but had the amenities

Hotel was nice, although plumbing was slow. Dining area was large and plenty of seating, food was good, although breakfast was the same daily. Grounds were well maintained, beach was close by, easy to get to and was clean.

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Great vacation for everyone

Five of us travelled to this resort April 1-8, 2015. My grandparents, my husband, my son, and I. We had a nice and relaxing holiday. There was a lot to do. The animation team was very friendly and busy with volleyball, archery, bingo, water exercises, yoga, etc. My husband took part, but I'm 6 months pregnant and really just wanted to lay back and relax by the pool with my 14 month old boy. They also enjoyed the night entertainment. My son LOVED the main pool, where he could just walk in until he got deep enough for his comfort. He was swimming (with help of his water wings) by the end of the week. The room was dated and a little smaller than what I've had at other resorts, but it was clean. I was told that all of the suites are in the "A" block, which are those closest to the beach. We had a beautiful view of the beach. We were pretty far away from the lobby. They had originally given us two bedrooms with a door connecting them... I spoke to Juan Reyes in guest services on our second day, and he put us in the suite that we had booked. My grandparents were next to us and had to move closer to the lobby, as my grandfather needs a wheelchair for a distance like that. They were very accommodating. The food was good. We always found something to eat. We all enjoyed the omelette station. The staff at the restaurants were super accommodating to us. They loved our baby, and kept him smiling and laughing during every meal. It was a very nice trip.. The only thing is that it was a little dated. I hear they're closing May 5th until sometime in October to upgrade, so I'm sure that after their renovations it will be just perfect. I would recommend this resort for couples of any age, and families. There is something for everyone.

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Amazing vacation

Fantastic resort, with amazing staff. The entertainment staff are the highlight with Shorty, Coco, Carlos. Food, rooms, resort are excellente. The vendors at the beach are a bit of a pain, but if you're assertive enough, they leave you alone. We would definitely go back.

Emotions by Hodelpa Puerto Plata: my kind of resort

The resort was a perfect size. It was convenient to get around easily. Staff was great. Buffet wasn't large but food was better than other resorts. Room was renovated and clean. Entertainment staff was very good

Casa Marina Sosua Trademark by Wyndham All Inclusive: Wonderful place to stay!!

Rooms are nothing great and grand, definitely could stand some upgrading, but remember that this is only a three star resort. Everything else is five star quality!! Grounds are absolutely beautiful, immaculately kept, the food is great, the liquor is strong, everything is in close proximity, from rooms, to beach, to pools, to restaurants is just a very short jaunt!! Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: Great Vacation!

This resort was clean and the food was very good! Beautiful scenery and beach. The only downfall (which was not a real biggie) was the replenishing of towels for our room as we did not get clean towels until late afternoon. We would definitely go back!

Sunscape Puerto Plata: Great Week at Barcelo, DR

We had a great time, food was good, pool area was great, beach was good I didn't go in, not as nice as Punta Cana but I'm a pool person. We paid under thousand each so I can't complain. Don't listen to negative reviews, nothing is perfect.

Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: Quick get away for two!

We loooooooved our stay at this resort. We read a lot of reviews before booking. Keep in mind we were searching for a great deal and hoping we we would get lucky. For this resort the price was right for our last minute retreat and we were prepared to get what we paid for. In the end it exceeded our expectations. Meeting people around the resort we heard stories of people not having hot water, hating the food, finding bugs in their room. I would agree with some of the reviews I had read before leaving, which was this resort is not for you if you don't want to climb some stairs. The beach is all the way down and the main pool and buffet is at the top. We didn't mind as or room was in the middle. The beach was just ok, you can walk down the beach, go for a swim and there were lots of activities such as parasailing, tubing, etc. but the main beach area that is shown in some of the pictures is actually up off the beach in a glass fenced in area so you weren't as close to the water as I would have liked. We ended up spending the majority of our time at the pools which was great because there are lots of them!:) All in all we had a great trip. Nice room, good food, friendly staff. I would go back again!

Blue Bay Villas Doradas: 80% Pleased

80% Pleased. Food was not the best, rooms were ok. Beach was good, bars were good, entertainment was good. All excursions were very good. Staff were very accomadating and friendly. Next time our group travels, I will do my best to convince them to do a 5 star and do it in Puenta Cana.

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: we loved it

Everyone was so nice food good, loved the beach and the pools very pretty grounds, . The only thing was sand flies, bring bug stuff for before and after the bits. Also when you buy WiFi keep that little card you get sometimes you need it to re log in, And the fried cheese is amazing, wish they had it everyday

Blue Bay Villas Doradas: Excellent place for vacation.

We had a great time. Well keep place staff where amazing. The only thing that I had an issue was the Le carte were not all free. It was an all incluse vacation but 2 of the dinners. The best food on the menu you had to pay for. The Japanese restaurant was amazing and all free.

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Welcome Home to my Dominican Place

This is a Great Resort if you want a smaller resort to stay at. The rooms have been renovated & are well kept. Food is VERY GOOD with lots of variety to choose from. There is always HOT WATER to shower !!!!!!!!! We travelled on March 26/15 and the flights were on time........transfer to resort well managed and our room was ready when we checked in. Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: Nice resort, but very hilly.

We had a nice room overlooking the ocean. Make sure you get the upgrade because the rooms in the older section are very small and outdated. The food and service at the buffet and the Italian a la carte were excellent. The beach had a lot of seaweed and was quite murky, but the pools were good. The whole resort is built on a hill, so from the beach up to the lobby was a minimum of 5-6 flights of stairs with uphill pathways in between....a bit tiring if you're making that trek several times a day. [... read more] We enjoyed our trip for the most part, but would not book at this resort again.

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: One bedroom master suite was awesome!!

We had 2 one bedroom master suites and both were awesome, with two bathroom, two balconies, two a/c, king beds and living rooms. We had no problems with either. Food was good and altho repetitive, we always found enough to eat. A la carte restaurants were pretty good, but I have had better at other resorts. Liked having vendors at the very end of the beach just off resort and not bugging you constantly!! Beach is over a km long with lots of chairs and palapas as well as shade trees all along it. [... read more] The resort runs the entire length of beach and can be quite a walk if you're at either end of resort. We were about 10 minute walk from main areas but there are also pools on each end and we were next to the snack bar,but didn't really mind the walk as it gave us some exercise. We were a 30 second walk to beach where we spent most of our time. Beach was darker sand, but powder soft and never needed any beach shoes when swimming. The long beach meant no crowding and beautiful to walk on. Locals were allowed in resort Good Friday to Easter Sunday causing pools and Buffet to be VERY crowded,but still lots of room at beach. Great bar service even if not always tipping! They did miss our rooms 3 nights with turn down service, but not a big deal for us. Mini bar stocked every day often with extra and our room was ready when we arrived at 12:30pm. Bit of a drive from airport,but a very nice resort at a decent price with nice little extras in our rooms!! Had a great vacation and would return and recommend!! :)

Paradise Playa Dorada: Lots of Food and refreshments

I only go to Dominican for the weather, and spend little time in the room, but the room I had at this resort was great, it was designed to be a permanent condo, and there was price list in the room if you decide to purchase, which I thought was cool, the property is fairly big and we would do several laps around the place after dinner to burn off fuel, it has nice walkways and lighting. Negatives are that the allow local vendors on the beach....everyone has to make a living,....but they have the [... read more] same stuff I can purchase here...I did purchase a flask made out of a actual bull horn, and if your there take the Rum factory tour its nice and you get Rum slushies at 9am..........if I drank them at home at 9am Id be scheduled for rehab.......overall great trip, I don't visit the same resort more than once though, as it takes away from being new and exploring the unknown......
