Iberostar Origin Playa Pilar: Ok

We ( eight of us) just came Back from spending one week at the Iberostar Playa Pilar resort in near Cayo Coco. Not sure what the issue is, but the resort had an infestation of flies. There was also an issue of cockroaches in the Main buffet. I witnessed a cockroach running across the counter where the hot food was stationed as well as on the floor. I do believe the Iberostar should look into why they have this issue. I have been to Cuba before and did not experience anything like that. On a pos [... read more]itive Side cuba has beautiful beaches. The sea at the hotel is calm and serene. However, if you are not fortunate enough to grab a Cabano bed at the seaside, you will be sitting without shade. The staff at the hotel are friendly and helpful. The hotel is in need of a renovation. I have no doubt that when it was built, it was a five-star resort. Now I would give it a three at best. We booked dinners in the A-la carte restaurants. They were in a closed area, so there was no fly problem. We especially enjoyed the Japanese restaurant. We spent one day at the spa. The staff there were truly customer service oriented. The food is kept covered and the pool is a quiet place to relax. Their washrooms are much cleaner than the main lobby. All in all we made the best of it and enjoyed each other's company.

Vila Gale Cayo Santa Maria: Grand Sirenis Cayo Santa Maria resort

We just came back 2 days ago from this resort Aug 23-30. The beach with white clean sand, and the ocean- I would die for- crystal clear water, amazing fishes and ocean life on coral reef that is close to the shore. So many different seashells. Cocktails to my taste were really good. Our room was OK. Rain shower head didn’t work. Everything else in the room was normal. After I complained to “public relations staff “ someone cleaned it. Buffet- most of the days they were opening late by 10-20 minutes and people were just waiting in the heat. NO sauce whatsoever. Food choices very limited. Again- floors NOT cleaned properly. Dust under the tables and around the columns. Servers NOT cleaning dishes on time. They are just standing and chatting and laughing. One server just stepped on the cockroach 🪳 and crashed it and left it there on the spot!! Internet not the greatest but manageable- you are not coming to the resort to be on internet all the time. I would NOT come back to this particular resort.

Hotel Atlantico: Hotel Atlantico. Havana-Cuba. Overall I had a great experience with ; staff was incredibly helpful and pleasant. Front desk staff is extremely efficient , especially Lady Delves. Bartenders : Dayron and Luis are the best at Atlantico.

Lovely Hotel ,very friendly, amazing staff. The atmosphere and service were great 👍 Would definitely stay there again. Great location. I really loved the character of the hotel.,easy ti get to Old Havana.

Melia Marina Varadero: Worest experience!!!

First I want to say, this is not my first time to Cuba. This was my third time, and after this vacation I will not be going to Cuba ever again. The hotel lacked in food, I mean shortage and sometimes ran out of liquor so I couldn't get drinks. The wifi needed to be refeshed ever 5 hour at the lobby. They ran out of beach towel and limited food at the snack bar, I mean they mostly had bun and cheese. This was one of my worest experiences I had.

Gran Muthu Almirante Beach Resort: Gran Muthu Almirante Beach Hotel ..

August 22nd, 2023: We booked Air Transat with agent Janet Merrill. She was amazing explaining every question we needed to know about the booking of our flight. Our flight was safe, happy with kind hostess and experience pilot. Gran Muthu Hotel is the best hotel,we were welcome at front desk friendly staff who help us get settled to our connect rooms. Every day, rooms got clean by kind house cleaners. Food was good, fresh daily. Only orange juice was missing for breakfast. The resort was amazi [... read more]ng with nice palm trees,flowers like a garden of paradise,the beach was excellent, relax, peaceful, lots of entertainment with musicians and dancers. My family of four will visit again.

Iberostar Origin Playa Pilar: The hotel has its good and bad

The entertainment, the pool area, the beach are all great. Great. The à la carte restaurants are very good too. The buffet and snack area are not good as they are full of flies. The buffet area even had roaches on the floor. The food in the buffet area is not even covered which would help prevent flies from landing on food.

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Great resort

We had a great stay at this place, very nice staff and food was good, in season fruits and salads The beach and pools were clean and very enjoyable, the rooms were clean and had AC, overall it was a very nice stay

Playa Vista Azul: Playa Vista Azul

The room was lovely, clean, spacious, well maintained. Golf carts for transportation were efficient and timely. Severe lack of umbrellas at pool. Only 2 days of our 7 day stay were there fresh eggs available at breakfast. Instead, powdered eggs were offered. Very disappointing. Staff accommodating and helpful.

Iberostar Origin Bella Vista Varadero: Poor

No good service, they never have towels , in the bathroom the door could not be closed , …… the food very poor . This hotel is not recommender , .. the person who puts the chairs on the beach is very rude and has bad manners

Iberostar Selection Esmeralda: Beautiful Hotel, sucks for entertainment!

Good people, Beautiful hotel, beautiful beach everything is brand-new but the food is not good at all, and there is no theater or hall for entertainment. They always run out of something. One thing for sure if you want to loose weight come to this hotel. Bring your own kitchen

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Holguin: Great resort but some disappointments..

Overall the hotel was VERY clean, service was good and was greeted well upon arrival with champagne and accommodated us with WIFI, directions, & attended to requests quickly. Hotel rooms were 5 star to me. Absolutely beautiful & clean. Service was amazing and had plenty of hot water. Fridges were well stocked in room and towels clean including swim towels available in rooms .. . No bugs & AC was great. No toilet paper for 2-3 days in whole resort. Not much entertainment at night and not well or [... read more]ganized. Family resort was mixed with adult resort and noise was carried on until late at night. A lot of adults were annoyed by loud noises. The resorts should’ve been separated. A la carte restaurants were great and the beach had a lot of seaweed, not clear water, very dirty, too many crabs. I travelled alone and they don’t honour one person and don’t serve you right away. Had to ask to be served several times. Snack bar did not have enough options and wasn’t a 24 hr bar. Overall great resort

Melia Las Americas: Great resort

Been going there for years, there’s been some great improvements since Covid. Staff is friendly as usual.accommodations very good , only thing is the entertainment is a bit lacking since they close the theater.

Memories Jibacoa: Great resort for snorkling

The grounds of the hotel are well kept, the rooms are spacious and comfortable, although the air conditioning system could use an update. The personnel is courteous and friendly and the food is diversified and tasty. The beach bar is charming and great to grab a bite at any time of the day. At night it transforms into an ¨A la carte¨ restaurant where you can dine while looking at an amazing sunset. Now for the activities. If you like to look at fishes, you should bring a mask and a tuba because the choral reefs are 15 feet (3 meters) from the shore. You don't need to pay anyone or reserve a catamaran; you just go in the water and watch your personal Jacques Cousteau documentary! You can also borrow a peddle boat, a kayak or a catamaran. There are activities in different area of the resort. They are inscribed on a big panel in the lobby where you can get a great expresso, cappuccino or a drink. I loved my experience and I'm sure you will love it also.

Iberostar Coral Esmeralda: Very Good Resort

I just returned from a trip at this resort (Aug 2023). The resort itself is in very good condition and clean and the grounds are in excellent condition. The resort is small and all the buildings are quite close. The beach is beautiful and there was never an issue getting a chair under an umbrella. Coffee and drinks were available in many different areas of the resort. The food was ok, better than I expected. There was a beach bbq everyday which was the best option. Breakfast was also good [... read more]. The swim out rooms are a nice bonus if you can get one of those rooms. The nightly entertainment was a lot of fun and the staff did their best to keep us entertained. I would definitely recommend this resort if you're looking for a simple budget getaway.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Great Time

Had a great time at this resort. Goes without said that Cuba's beaches are on top of all. The resort itself is really nice. Friendly staff, good maintenance overall on most things. My room was really nice also. Of course there can definitely be room for some improvements but overall its good. Anyone that leaves 1star or poor reviews is an idiot. Plain and simple. Cuba is Cuba. Go there, enjoy the culture, the people, and the efforts that are done for us to have a great time

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: A good resort.

I was not happy with the room we were assigned to. The lower part of the wooden entrance door was decaying (probably water damaged) and the entire door was in dire need of painting. I wanted to ask for a change in room. My husband encouraged me to not so we try to look beyond that and focus on other things. Needless to say every time I had to enter the room seeing that door left me with an unpleasant feeling. The room itself and bathroom needed so updating also but was not a big issue. They made one feel welcome which made up for the negative issues.

Iberostar Coral Esmeralda: Beautiful resort

We were at this hotel for 14 days, the service vas very good, the room vas clean and cold, we enjoyed the beach and pools, the food-well it's Cuba, they did their best with what they had, we didn't miss anything, we would like to have more vegetables , but it vas not that bad, the drinks were good, we enjoyed the drinks made by Alfred at the cigar bar, also the drinks at the lobby bar and beach bar. Thanks to all the staff of Coral Level for the good service.

Playa Luxury Cayo Las Brujas: Terrible Resort

TLDR: We got what we paid for but will definitely never go back or recommend this resort to anyone. The Rooms: Our toilet was broken upon arrival but we fixed it ourselves. All of the lights appeared to be on the same circuit and it was a constant game of will this switch work today? We also found one cockroach in our bathroom on the final night despite being tidy people and cleaners coming in everyday. The Food: The buffet is open from 7-10 for breakfast and 1-3 for lunch every single day [... read more]. During our stay it was a mystery if the buffet would be open for dinner that day so to play it safe we booked reservations every night at the al a crate restaurant. If the buffet was closed and you did not have reservations you were stuck eating dinner at the snack bar. Our party had a few dietary restrictions so eating at the buffet was difficult as most items were poorly labeled, if labeled at all. The Pools: Dirty. Balls of hair at the bottom of the pool, empty drink cups floating in the water, trash in the drains & no one around to care or clean. The Beaches: We only went to the hidden beach on our trip so we cannot speak much about the main one. We enjoyed how secluded and calm the hidden beach was however, our only complaints were that the beach had much more debris than expected and the beach bar was only open/staffed Friday-Sunday. The Staff: Very sweet but surprised at how little English was spoken. We had a huge language barrier because of it and almost every food/drink order at the snack bar was wrong. The Experience: We unknowingly went during a popular Music Festival weekend so our resort had a large number of native Cubans. Everyone was nice and we enjoyed how it made the weekend very lively. However, the resort seemed understaffed during this time as it was difficult to get attention from servers. Little to no activities/entertainment but we were happy for the relaxation nonetheless.

Playa Pesquero: Loved, loved, loved our vacation at Playa Pesquero!

We are a family of 4, three adults and one teenager and booked a 2 weeks Cuba vacation in Holguin, at Playa Pesquero at the recommendation of our friends who vacationed here 3 times. It was our best Cuban vacation to date, and we cannot wait to go back! This is a wonderful resort with beautiful grounds and amazing people that work hard to make sure guests are happy and enjoy their time at Playa Pesquero! The ocean was picture perfect, with turquoise, crystal clear and warm water. Beach towels are always available! We didn’t spend much time at the pool because we are beach lovers, but the Canada celebration at the main pool was a great party, with a live band, drinks and so much fun! We made tons of friends at Playa Pesquero and we would have loved to party more and dance after dinner, in the lobby, but there was not much entertainment for adults and kids at night, beside the show, between 8-11pm. Hopefully the management will think of this and add a night dancing scene.The breakfast was great, we ate mostly omelettes, pancakes, and fresh fruits in the morning. We didn’t really care for the food at the buffet for lunch and dinner (quite repetitive and not a great variety), but the a-la-carts were all amazing for dinner. For lunch, we ended up eating almost everyday at the place by the beach, on the patio. The food here is all great: pizza, fish, pork, beef, and chicken was available the second week we were there. The food at beer garden is also very good, their chicken tastes like KFC! Our 2 connected rooms we stayed in (top floor in building 11) were nice and large, with ice cold air conditioning and big balconies. Beautiful resort and, I have to repeat this, what makes this resort different from other resorts is all the amazing people that work here! All staff, from managers to gardeners, greet you, smile to you, ask if everything is okay, make you feel like home and like part of the big Playa Pesquero family! We brought gifts from Canada and tipped everyone because we wanted to show our appreciation for their hard work! They appreciate monetary tips, but cannot buy much with money in Cuba so please, if you’re going and have room in your luggage, bring gifts they can use: toothpaste, toothbrush, make-up, toys, baby stuff, toys, chips, sweets that don’t melt easily, Nutella, crackers, fishing stuff for the gardeners, etc. You can get more gift ideas by reading reviews on TripAdvisor website, if you want. We are in love with Playa Pesquero and highly recommended this resort!

Playa Vista Azul: Cuba 2023

The resort is beautiful. The staff are amazing. Shout out to Arasay, Diana, Jose, Yuri and Carlos. Thank you for taking care of us. Food is rationed, but still an amazing trip! Jim O'Neill thank you for all your help for getting us down there! You are an angel and a godsend.
