Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Perfect paradise
Everything was exquisite. Cleanliness was impeccable in the rooms, dining facilities, walking trails and amenities.
The food was fresh, safe to eat and options a plenty. A la carte restos were top notch with service, style and taste.
Met some great people and the golf course was gorgeous. Highly recommend the hydrotherapy and athletic massage. I would definitely go back.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: A wonderful, worry free holiday
We had an amazing time at this resort. The place is VERY well run, clean and comfortable. We were in building 2 and appreciated the 1.2 km walk to the main buffet restaurant! We have zero concerns regarding our stay and would not hesitate to recommend this resort to others.

Not to happy with this resort !!! They ran out or Red Wine 4 days in a row...in various restaurants.
They ran out of 4 different types of alcohol at the lobby bar...very disappointed with this resort. The beach's are just OK....nothing special...they all have rocks....and stones in them. The food was good...the service was good...the rooms were clean and were the grounds were in good shape.
Staff were always saying sorry for the wine shortage...

Bahia Principe Grand Samana Roulette: Great time!!!
First of all when you arrive to this resort you are welcomed by the staff dancing and given a welcome drink which is a nice touch and you definitely feel welcomed. The views surrounding resort is stunning of Samana Bay and town. The staff are amazing on this resort. So efficient and friendly and hardworking. Can't say enough about them. They truly made our trip. The resort itself is beautiful. Very clean and pretty. The food and drinks were great. Big selection and very tasty. The only negative [... read more]thing about resort is the beach. Very small and Stoney, not soft sand and the ocean is brown. Not the typical turquoise water we are use to seeing in the Caribbean. So because of this you can't really snorkel. Don't see any fish. As well because the resort is on a cliff, anywhere you need to go has many stairs. There is an elevator to beach which is nice but to get down to the restaurant that is open when buffet isn't, it's 150 plus stairs down. There are little golf carts that they can take u down but very few far between to get one. Besides these couple things the resort was fantastic. We really did have a great time!!!!

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Very good resort; you will get your money's worth.
Grounds well maintained, good service by staff, good selection of food. Rooms could use little face lift (i.e. painting, some updated furniture). Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Mix Bag
Well,
Not only did I have to pay the single supplemental, so I paid extra with no views of the ocean or pool:
- broken handle on my luggage upon arrival in Punta Cana complete with dented suitcase
- I arrive to my room only to have someone in my room taking a shower
- Over an hour later I check in my room, the locker did not have any slot for card
- Called front desk and they sent someone to look at it since their was no instructions on how to reprogram the locker. Staff tried and could n[... read more]ot open safe
- Staff called another individual who dismantled the lock from the wall only to find out that the batteries are dead. He then left and returned with new batteries.
- He left than no electricity, no one told me that I had to put my card in
- So far wasted over 3 hours
- I paid extra for my seat which should of included a bottle of premium Rum ....... Never received!
- The ceiling fan stopped working on the third night, called front desk and they fixed it the next day.
- I tipped very well, room was clean, but maid never refilled my fridge with beer for 2 days and coffee for 1. I called front desk and it was resolved.
- The signage to get to my room was brutal, kept on getting lost the first few days.
- For the +2k I paid I expected a better bed. The sheets were not clean every day, I had to put money around the stain that was on my sheets in order to get it cleaned
- Aside from the alacarte food (Mexican & Japanese were great) the rest of the food especially lunch was disgusting.
-We took the buggy and catamaran toors which cost me $218 in total since I was single but I was with a group of 14 which 8 of us went on the tours
- The buggies/cart on the brochure were "Razors" and new ..... what we ended up on were piece of crap 1980 odyssey..... Rip Off
- The catamaran ..... what a joke .... it was a double deck boat with a glass bottom. A catamaran is a sail boat! False advertising again
- The people were mostly Nice, the waiters, bartenders were all extremely friendly! But that's because I tipped them well
- The travelling on the golf cart/bus was atrocious, Dinner in the back, lunch in the front, clubs in the back etc... I spent at least 1/3 of my time travelling. Waiting sometimes 20 to 30 minutes especially at night.
- I would of like to visit Esmeralda, Ambar Blue and green, but not allowed even though I was told prior to the vacation that I could tour those resorts, but to no avail.
- Huge cockroaches in my room the last 2 nights, I thought it was because I was on the ground floor, but my friend had some on the second floor in his building.
- This trip cost me over 3K since I was single and I don't think the value was even close
- Beautiful beach, minus the hook worms, beautiful people, I wish the club played a little more English music
- Night Club smelled like ass complete with sticky floors

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Just Okay!!
This was my 6th time to this resort and the quality is going in the wrong direction. Too many things going on around the pool, food is never warm and for the first time one of us was very sick from a bacterial infection in the stomach from the food that required hospitalization......overall not a great experience!! Not the place if you want quiet and relaxing. It has gotten too big and the personal touches are all gone. Some of the customer services staff were great (Ronny in the Ambar blue [... read more]lounge) and others were rude and unfriendly. Definitely time to take our business elsewhere.

Service flawless. Grounds, pool and beach all well kept.
Very good entertainment; love that it’s in the large lobby where there’s no smoking. The singer who also played violin was amazing!
Brand name liquors included.
Free Wifi all over, even at beach.
Ice cream cart on beach in afternoon.
Our week went by way too fast!
Our only wish is that the bed wasn’t so hard.ðŸ˜

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Fun in the sun
Beautiful resort, we had a wonderful trip. The resort is older so you expect some things that need fixing, example we had a crack in our sink. Did that bother us no....petty things like that are not worth complaining about. The only complaints we have is that the beach is not a nice walking beach and the grounds are not big for walking and seeing different things. We like resorts where there is a lot of walking to see different things on the grounds. With that I must say the grounds are beautifu[... read more]l and well taken care of. Food was great, always something to eat for everyone’s different desires. The village is awesome, great for shopping if you want. Pool is beautiful, they were always entertaining you with something if you wanted to take part. Overall it’s a beautiful resort.
Amazing! Everything was perfect! I would recommend this to anyone who wants to go away to Dominican republic!!! They excursions were great and the workers are so friendly ! Would recommend this resort to everyone!

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: great vacation !
this hotel was beautiful in all areas , the only comment about the room is that it needed a little updating and I would have liked to have English shows on the TV to be able to relax before going out for supper . The people working at the resort were outstanding ! We were catered to which made our vacation relaxing and extremely enjoyable .

Bahia Principe Grand Bavaro: Huge Complex
The resort is huge. I got lost several times but it gave me the opportunity to look at everything. The gardens are beautiful. The resort is really clean. Everywhere you go you will see people cleaning and making sure everything is neat and tidy. The rooms are nice. The beds are a little hard but I found them to be quite comfortable. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating. The serving staff work very hard. Tipping also goes a long way. These folks make very little money for[... read more] all of their hard work. I don't mind giving tips for such great service. I would also leave the lady that cleaned our room some money and chocolate each day. She deserved it. The resort has entertainment day and night. There is always something going on. Food and drinks were great!
The only issue that I had with the Bahia Principe was the beach. It is extremely overcrowded - almost claustrophobic. I am a beach bum so I was very disappointed with this. Instead I spent my week by the beautiful quiet pools that are there. Overall I had a wonderful vacation. I would recommend this resort to anyone that doesn't mind a lot of people and prefers to sit by a pool.

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Amazing resort!!
If you're looking for a great dining experience and lovely grounds look no further than the luxury Bahia principe akumal resort in Mexico. We stayed in the adults only building that were upgraded. The rooms were roomy with a jacuzzi tub. The little touches like pillow service and aroma therapy scents added to the details that make this resort stand out! The alcarte restaurants were all fantastic with a wide variety to suit every need. The beach was not Cuba but warm and crystal clear. It is a bi[... read more]t of a bus ride to the resort (1 1/2 hours) but well worth it. The only thing that I would say is that everything closes at 11:00pm. You can still get snacks at the 24 hour bar but no music. If you're looking for a relaxing vacation this is your place.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Overall Great Experience
Overall we had a good time at this resort. We stayed at the Grand Bahia Principe Tulum resort in the past and thought we'd try this one since the kids activities and waterpark were here.
Positives:
- The kids club, teen club, theatre shows, several pools, and waterpark were all great for families.
- Pool chairs were relatively easy to find shade as long as you were out grabbing chais before 10am.
- Beach was gorgeous. They work incredibly hard to keep up with the seaweed on the beach. Th[... read more]e sand was soft especially directly in front of the gran Tortuga restaurant and Dolphins on the Tulum resort.
- You're allowed to bring your own floaties into the pools -- some resorts don't allow it.
- Pools were warm and no matter what pool we visited they all had shallow shelf areas for young children (we brought our 3 year old).
- Rooms all have mini fridges and are stocked daily with water, pop, and beer.
- Hacienda market area on resort was nice for shopping.
- Dolphinarium on resort with free show at 11:30 AM each day was also a nice perk.
- Staff overall throughout the resort were very friendly and welcoming.
Negatives:
- Bad service in the main buffet for most of the week. We eventually stopped tipping on day 5 because we were so tired of it. The wait staff barely acknowledged our existence. It was like pulling teeth to get water or place settings. I don't know if they were understaffed or what was going on but the service at Tulum buffet was never like this on our last trip.
- Food at main buffet was underwhelming. Always seemed the same day-to-day and not the freshest. Tulum buffet seemed better laid out and more attractive, fresh, and better variety.
- No chips/snacks delivered to the rooms. Although they had this for us at the Tulum resort.
- If you're staying at Coba don't bother visiting or checking out Akumal resort which is attached -- you will be kindly asked to leave.
- If you're not paying extra for prestige or privilege club at Coba you will feel a difference in that there are extra "special" trolley services door-to-door for those who have it -- we found this out by asking for a ride, they looked down at our bracelet, and said sorry this is for prestige guests only. We just did a ton of walking and waited for the regular trolleys at the lobbys like the rest fo the "peasants" haha.
- Got food poisoning at the Gourmet restaurant -- I'm sure the stuffed chicken with lobster inside was not cooked enough as I was sick all night afterwards.
- They don't provide drink service at the pools as in you have to go get your own drinks if you want one. They don't come around and take your order as other resorts we've been to have.
- Our room had a soft spot in the bathroom ceiling that you could literally push lightly on and it would move. Looked like mold that had been painted over and the room had a strong musty smell.
- Rooms were cheap on coffee, I could never get more than one pouch of coffee which meant if I had an evening coffee in my room I knew I'd be sacrificing the morning coffee. And we were tipping $5 US per day so it's not like we weren't tipping. I even left a nice note one day asking for two per day, got it once all week....maybe it was a different maid each day. It should be standard to always stock two pouches regardless.
- VERY UNIMPRESSED with Grand Bahia Principe's decision to eliminate all theatre shows on Thursday nights for their "Mexican Night" at the Hacienda (resort market area) which you then have to book and pay extra for....so much for "all inclusive". There were a lot of guests that were angry about this. All other resorts we've ever stayed at have done a Mexican night and went all out for their guests and have included it as a special experience for everyone. Money grab if you ask me and very poor decision on their part.
Overall we'd recommend this resort for families but if you enjoy the beach and good service, book at Akumal or Tulum as you'll be closer to the ocean feeling less closed in and seem to get a higher level of service at the buffets. Also Akumal gives you 7 a le cartes (one per evening) whereas you only get 3 for the whole week at Coba or Tulum. Had we known all the differences we would have paid the $100 each extra at the time of booking to stay at Akumal for the week opposed to Coba.
Bottom line if it's not a significant savings to stay at Coba choose one of the other two resorts you'll be happy you did.

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: A week in paradise!
Our room was bright, clean and spacious. Toilet was a bit leaky so our bathroom floor was always wet. Our bar fridge was stocked every day with beer and soft drinks.
Our villa was close to dining, pools and beach. Beach is a bit rocky, so not the best for long walks. Always lots of chairs available - beach and poolside.
Good selection at buffet, great drinks. Good variety of a la carte restaurants. Entertainment at night was enjoyable.
Staff was friendly and helpful. A good offering of[... read more] excursions (we did the catamaran and tours of Mayan ruins).

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Overpaid trip in comparison
Everything was perfect for the exception of the amount paid for this trip.
I met and discussed the cost of trip with others in Ambar Blue like me.
No amount exceeded $1700 for the week double occupancy; direct flights and all services available.
My weekly cost was $2,295. for the same trip for the exception of being single.
That is a difference of $595. per week more for my trip.
For a 2 week vacation, I had to put out an extra $1,190. more than others
I find this quite unacceptable.
As [... read more]a test, I was able to google the same trip exactly for the 2 last weeks in February as a single occupancy for $3,100. without Trip Central as agent.
Please do explain such exorbitant fee on your part.
