Melia Marina Varadero: Beautiful resort!

Everyone goes to Cuba to enjoy the beach and it was perfect. We spent lots of time at the large pool as well. The resort was very clean and well organized. Even though the resort is very big it was never crowded! Our room was very nice and clean and the staff were very helpful. The buffet was big and offered a large selection and our a la cartes were amazing! Will visit again.

Melia Cayo Santa Maria: We'll be back!

This was our third time at Melia Cayo Santa Maria and it has improved so much since the first time we visited. Cleanliness, food, staff, entertainment has all gotten better. Check-in was super fast. Room was ready before check-in which was helpful. They had run out of bracelets but we never ended up going back to get one. I rather not have a bracelet anyway. I've never eaten at the restaurants but the buffet had so much more this time. The crepe station was fabulous and a great addition. The food seemed fresh and flavorful and there was so much more fruit this time. The mangoes were so good. The ranchon is my favorite. I always had their Cuban plate with a glass of vino. Those servers work so hard and I appreciated how friendly they were with us. The BBQ meat was delicious too. They also could accommodate my friend who is a vegetarian so that was great. The snack bar was also very good. I noticed an addition of hot dogs which was good. Rooms were great as always. So much room and the bathroom is big enough for 2-3 girls getting ready for a night. The beds were comfortable. Fridge and room was always stocked and cleaned. Always good water pressure and hot water. Rooms are one of the highlights of the hotel. So much space to feel at home for the week. The beach has always been the nicest I've ever seen. So clean, so blue and so warm. The beach is a good size. Always someone to help you find and clean a beach chair. Always somone to take your drink order. Compact enough where you don't feel overwhelmed by people on the beach but enough so that you feel like you're in all the action. The pools were nice too. I like that this hotel is not packed with people and there is a varied age group. I like the mid sized resorts and that is what Melia is. The grounds are beautiful. The renovations are really nice and the lobby has such a good vibe and especially at night when you can enjoy a coffee or drink. Or on a rainy day when there are dance lessons happening. There is always something going on there. I love that there is a store on the hotel grounds as well as between Melia Cayo Santa Maria and Melia Las Dunas. Easy to get a taxi and to book excursions. I think that also the reason I keep coming back and I have friends who have returned many times is because of the entertainment and its staff. It's unlike I have ever seen. I have been to many resorts in many different countries as well as Cuba and I have never seen an entertainment team work so hard. They truly are amazing ande always have something going on for us. They are up so early preparing for the day. Carrying out all sorts of activities which are so fun. I now know how to dance salsa! They don't push you to participate but they are so inviting which makes you really want to get up and dance. They always have a smile. Always so friendly. They work all the way into the night and have these amazing shows. Then some of them accompany you to the disco where the fun goes into the wee hours of the night and then they are back at it bright and early. I don't know how they do it!! I have so much respect for them. They make your trip so entertaining and fun that I can't say enough positive things about all of them. Especially Rey and Ernesto! Each time I've been there they both have been so great and it makes you feel so welcomed that you want to return to see your Cuban friends. Thank you to both of them and the entire entertainment team for such a fun week! Our favorite part of the week was the Carnival on Tuesday night. That was SO much fun!! We love Cuba and will keep on coming back. We've been to so many parts of Cuba and love every single part of the county. It hasn't lost its authenticity or its beauty. Melia Las Americas: Not great

This hotel was ok. It wasn't bad but it certainly wasn't good. The view was of course stunning. The food was really really bad. We also had to wait hours to get cod mediocre food. We paid American prices to stay here. I am from NYC and am used to exhorbited prices but the service did NOT match. One hour for cold French fries and grilled cheese that was also cooked incorrectly. Reedming qualities were the view beach and the staff other then the front desk. I wouldn't go back here but I would go back to that beach!

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Beautiful resort

We stayed in the royal service area and it is well worth the upgrade. The rooms were modern and clean. The beds were firm and comfortable. The pillow menu, though it seemed silly, was the best. I slept like a baby. Our room was cleaned twice a day every day. I'm still not sure what the Butler was supposed to do as we never saw her. It was sas to see [... read more] so many swim up beds unused and we couldnt access shase. Our bartenders were amazing. Not only friendly but they got to know us personally. Lili Nacho at the beach bar was great. Annarayas at the pool bar was definitely our favourite. We avoided the royal buffet and a la carte as we found the choices limited and the staff less than friendly. Most a La carte restaurants served the same foods cooked differently. The grand Terraza buffet had the best selections. The Cuban restaurant and Japanese restaurant were our favourites. We enjoyed the entertainment most nights. There were some amazing waiters that were very fast and attentive and some who forgot drinks. I wish I made note of their names to recognize them. All in all we had a wonderful vacation and I was pleased to see the resort smoked it's mosquitos. The reviews we read about bug bites was scarey. We had a bug free stay.

Melia Marina Varadero: Waist of money

Don't go there room cleaning should be improve and food is repetitive and terrible ..kitchen staf add food to late.will not go back hotel need serious improvement and better maintenance.Entertainment poor very boring resort

Melia Cayo Coco: Worthy of a return trip

Great experience. Great food. Great entertainment. Great amenities. Will return. Better WiFi a must. Resort must have an ATM. Staff were welcoming, warm and friendly. Met many Canadians who were repeat customers. A couple has been there 60 times. 6/7 trips / year to Amelia Cayo Coco.

Melia Jardines del Rey: Fantastic Getaway!

Wonderful service! Awesome drinks! Food was excellent - especially the fresh fish! Pool and ocean - spectacular! The market right outside the resort gate was a great place to get souvenirs. The disco was fun! The entertainers were very inviting and fun! Oh! And the Foam pool party! So fun! Will definitely be back!

Paradisus Varadero: Great resort !

Hotel was very nice, service and housekeepers need some help, pools were clean, chairs were organized. Only complaint would be the bar fridge was never refilled, never any clean towels. Necessities you require for a weeks stay weren't focused on by the hotel. Overall the stay was Good!

Paradisus Varadero: Interesting Experience

The hotel itself was absolutely beautiful; however, upon closer inspection, you could see that time and care really had not been attended to in the presentation of this place. 2/8 days we didn't have running water, and there were cockroaches in the a la carte restaurants and their bathrooms. Those things aside - the beaches and grounds were nice, just not 5 star nice. The staff were inconsistent in their attentiveness. The resort is advertised as having 24/7 room service. 9/10 times they d [... read more]id not show up. The WiFi is terrible, and you have to pay for it (even though it is terrible). If you're looking to lay out on the beach and unplug from all technology, then this is the place to stay. If you're looking for a little more out of your experience - I would recommend staying somewhere more consistent with what is advertised in relation to what is actually at the resort.

Melia Las Dunas: that was last year

considering that we we where there 3 years in the row this time the food end the sea 5 star..... all the rest was a resort of 2 stars with out joking. sample.... the water in the room was cold for a couple days ,no toilet paper in the washrooms. water was dripping from the ceiling in the rooms...most of the plumbing was not working properly... the resort that was good... today is terrible.and I want to stop here

Melia Cayo Coco: Great place to Relax

Melia Cayo Coco is a very quiet hotel. Good food... I recommend the Italian and the International a la carte restaurants. The food was fantastic. The hotel is close to the airport (15-20 min). Very clean and the service is great. Very friendly staff. Beach is very nice and you can go for quite a long walk. Rooms are a little dated but everything worked. We liked the fact that everything is close. Not a lot of walking wherever you wanted to go. Our room was close enough to the beach th [... read more]at we could use the facilities in our room if we needed to. I don't recommend it for younger adults though who love the night life. That wasn't really there although a couple nights they involved guests in the shows and we were up dancing. Disco was open every night from 11pm but I didn't see anyone using it. Great hotel though, I'd go back...many people are returning guests, we know of 2 people that have been 60 times and met a couple others who have been 8 or more times.

beach towels: missing for days music at the pool : very poor, no Cuban music fridge inroom: not filled consistenly with water and beer grounds: not to much green and flowers buffet: not consistent in providing vegetables guest room before leaving was a disaster: unable to unlock the room after three attempts, no towels provided, no phone, no hair dryer

Melia Las Dunas: Such a great vacation!

Melia Las Dunas is a terrific all-inclusive resort in Cayo Santa Maria, Cuba. The resort is impeccably clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. They offer so much to do for all ages. Our family ranged in age from 22 to 53 and every one of us had a great time! The beach was beautiful, but the shade seats were very hard to procure. Lots of loungers with towels on them for hours without people on them. Not really fair. We wished "holding" was not a thing.

Melia Las Antillas: Nice resort

Very clean resort. Same food all the time at the buffet, nice staff. Buffet tables were slow being cleaned off and made ready for others. Beach nice but had to get up early for shade. Need more huts for shade. Need more entertainment and music around the pool. Rather quiet. We had a wonderful maid. Our flights sunwing were late both ways. There was a great show by the poolside, we had an overall nice experience there.

Hotel Vigia: Great experience

No major complaints. Was a small quaint resort, close to the beach and easy to get around. The staff was amazing and friendly. Food was what was to be expected in Cuba, not gormet but good. We managed to fill our bellys. No long lineups or waiting anywhere. Room was nice and cozy, no major issues. Had a wonderful stay!!

Melia Marina Varadero: Awesome hotel

We stayed at the Melia Marina Varadero April 21-28, 2017, the resort is beautiful although needs a bit of repair. The food was good at the Level but the buffet was not as good, food was often cold. The staff was awesome. We will return for sure. The entertainment could be reviewed for sure but overall it was a very nice vacation.

Tryp Cayo Coco: Tryp Cayo Coco is a wonderful family and friendly resort the people on the resort make this hotel a home away from home .

Tryp is a resort we go back to often because the resort is full of charm and beauty the staff at this hotel make you feel that you are in there own homes .The beach is so beautiful you can walk and enjoy the warm sand on your feet . The ground our filled with beautiful plants and flowers and are maintained by workers who care about there work and can make beautiful things out of the materials from the land they work on .the rooms are well maintained and are clean and very charming but when we we [... read more]re there we saw the new rooms they will be started this month and they amazing the team there has thought of everything for the new rooms up to date and we thought out as they proceeded with these new rooms can not wait till next trip to see how the progress is with new rooms . The whole staff from management all the way down the chain is a total family package everyone there works together to ensure people are there number one

Hotel Camino del Mar: Awesome week.

Another fantastic week at the Melia Cayo Guillermo. Love the people. Love the beach, cold beer and beautiful beach. Was quite surprised at the amount of work that went into expanding​ the beach but wow what ana approvement. Great food as always. Rocky, Barbara, Tommy, Maria at the front desk just to name a few thank​you thank you thank you for helping make my hard earned vacation perfect. If I had a complaint it would be there needs to be more shade things at the beach. See you in the fall.

Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: Great nature, beach and snorkeling

Pros: + hotel is close to the beach and dining hall + gardening is well maintained with various plants and flowers + great beach with enough shadow, snorkeling + fish is close to shallow water if you throw bread to them + national reservation area within 5-min walk to the east Cons: - white waters after the rain (probably from the roofs) - room with broken shower switch - room floor was not cleaned regularly but was clean in general - food variety was rather repetitive - service at  [... read more]dining hall is sometimes bad if you don`t give tips (should give a tip at the very end, not at the beginning or middle of the service)

Melia Jardines del Rey: Second time around.

This was our second trip to the Melia Jardines Del Rey, we thought that we would give this resort a second chance as our first trip the resort had just opened. This time the resort was full when we arrived but after the Easter weekend the crowd thinned out so this should have made things easier on the resort. The pool desperately needed cleaning, not even the pool deck was cleaned at night even though the pool closed at 6 p.m. They have not yet figured out the food service. The a la carte  [... read more]was extremely slow, the second buffet only opened if the first was full and the staff shutdown early and stood talking to one another. Even if you managed to get in when it opened your food was usually cold as they did not know how to keep the steam tables working. The overall impression we got from customer service, the front desk and most of the staff was that they did not care. 2 people on the front desk were great and the lobby bar staff and management were outstanding we went for coffee in the morning and drinks in the evening. Would definitely go back to Cayo Coco for lobster at the Playa Prohibida and to take another tour with Pepe's Island Tours (williamstaxi@nauta.cu).
