Sunset at the Palms: Lovely Vacation

Sunset at the Palms is a very nice hotel. It is quiet, clean, and the grounds are beautiful. The cottages are lovely. The nature is very neat but if you are sensitive to noise at night, bring earplugs. The tree frogs are loud. The food and drinks were great. Great Selection. Staff was extremely friendly.

Iberostar Waves Rose Hall Beach: Just what we wanted

This was the first time to this resort, eighth time to Jamaica. We wanted something not as far from the airport as we usually travelled and not too large a hotel. What a great place. We booked an oceanfront room. This was on the third floor, elevators ran quickly is you didn't want to use the stairs. Room had a wraparound deck so you could see the court that the hotel surrounds and the ocean. There are lots of trees and sandy area on the beach and the beach was nice. No fighting for shade [... read more] if the sun got to be too much. There's a reef that completely goes from one side to the other which scuba divers seemed to enjoy. Also a lot of people were snorkelling closer to shore. Great food, nice rooms, great service and staff. The people talked you for a proper conversation, not just the polite small talk. We went to the Japanese and Aunt Ruby's Steakhouse (Uncle Tony's was closed for renovation). Had surf and turf - hard to get a steak this good in Canada. Japanese was fun but noisy - they cooked on two grills in front of you and entertained while doing so. Others said they also liked the Cajun Restaurant. We will be back again for sure. Another gentleman said he has been to this resort 10 times, why go somewhere else when this is perfect.

Iberostar Selection Rose Hall Suites: Fabulous!

Stayed from Nov 18 to the 24th 2016. The hotel is beautiful. The staff from the reception lobby to the buffet and poolside were friendly. Immaculate grounds. Maids took care of the rooms. Turn down service was a welcome surprise. Lots of variety of food. Always had a local food station as well as lobster. Meats, chicken, cheeses. Can't imagine anyone complaining. The week we stayed the weather was a bit windy but that's out of anyone's control. We've stayed at many other Iberostar properties i [... read more]ncluding Iberostar Varadero which was excellent but this was lovely for adults as well as kids. The only drawback was the shower pressure in the room was very low.

Jewel Paradise Cove: Definitely not a 4 star!

This was my husband and my 4th trip to Jamaica and we were not so impressed with this resort. Although the grounds are prestine and being located right on the ocean there is definitely room for improvement. The rooms can definitely use an upgrade. Our main issue was the inconsistency with the service. One staff would gladly bring me a coffee on the beach while the other insists they only serve from the bar. It also usually felt like we were a burden on the staff and they didn't want to be there  [... read more]doing their job. Many times we were greeted with a rude "what's up?" when we went to the bar. A few times in the restaurants we would ask for something and after no one coming back after 20 minutes we would ask again and they would simply say they forgot. There was a minimal social scene in the evenings also, we found many groups wandering as the main bar was quite small. The piano bar was nice on a song a long night but would have been better if it was in a more open outdoor space like the Sunset Bar which overlooks the ocean, is a huge space and yet has nothing going on there at night. I was ready to go to a yoga class until I showed up at the gym and the man had no idea what I was talking about saying they sometimes make mistakes on the schedule! We only chose this resort because of the budget price, however, did not feel like we got our money's worth. I would have paid more to not feel so frustrated many times a day. It's a splurge but I highly recommend the Secrets Wild Orchid where you are pampered every step of the way and it is close to the airport. The distance from the airport alone is not worth coming here. Food was mediocre- never once saw plantain and aki and salt fish! Come one priple, this is what we come to Jamaica for!

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Friendly clean beautiful atmosphere

The staff were terrific. Bright clean resort. Very accommodating. Everyone was willing and happy to assist you. Food and entertainment was outstanding. I love the swim up sushi bar. The ocean swim area was good, with little fish swimming at your feet, that was different. I would go back and have recommended to many people already. You can relax join in the fun and games, whichever you wish no pressure. Great vacation resort.

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Great resort and beaches!

This was our 2nd time to Gran Bahia and it didn't disappoint. The water is so clear and beautiful on each of the beaches. Unlike other resorts I've visited, there was ample lounge chairs at the pool and all beaches so you didn't have to wake up early to secure chairs. The food was standard for a resort, but we liked that there was always some Jamaican varieties at every meal. We tried 2 a la carte restaurants, both of which were very tasty. Otherwise the resort and staff were all great and cater to your every need!

Bahia Principe Escape Runaway Bay: Beautiful Place, Beautiful People!

We loved our stay. The hotel was immaculate & luxurious. Attention was paid to every detail. The food choices were excellent; from casual poolside to fine dining. Above all, the staff were cheerful and attentive, ready to respond to your every need. We would highly recommend this resort.

Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton: Beautiful resort!!

From the moment we arrived and until the very end I felt very welcome and at home. The staff was very friendly and everyone greeted you with a smile. Just keep in mind this resort is HUGE however they do provide you with a shuttle to take you around. When my boyfriend and I arrived at the resort they took our baggage for us and immediately fixed us up a drink, after we were escorted to our honeymoon villa.... My jaw dropped. There are a few things I would change. Don't get me wrong I still had an amazing time and was amazed by the resort however, there was no culture/music or jamaican food. I went to jamaica to experience Jamaica... You can't do that at this resort. The music they played wasn't jamaican music or even a mix. If they did attempt to play jamaican music, they would play Bob Marley (I love bob marley don't get me wrong). Unfortunately there is a stereotype that this is the only music they listen too. Trust me it's not. As for the food... The food they had there tasted amazing however they barely had Jamaican dishes (they would have one or two dishes) and if there was they made it very bland. Despite the food and lack of culture lol I do highly recommend this resort but just a tip, if you want to experience Jamaica it is safe to travel with the taxi there at the resort and please do it. We had a great time!!

Sunscape Splash: Amazing Time In Jamaica!!

This was our first time to Jamaica. We absolutely had a fantastic vacation. The resort was wonderful. Our room was spacious and we had a fantastic view of the ocean. We loved everything! Staff and food were amazing

Couples Swept Away: Couples Swept Away Nov. 2016

As this was our 12th time to Jamaica, but our first time to Couples Swept Away, we did enjoy most of what the Hotel offered. We were under the impression that there was 24 hour room service, but found out on our late arrival, that room service was only for breakfast. That was disappointing, but no big deal. Our coffee maker didn't work, found that out on morning #1, and considering we get up at 5:30 am every day, it could have been an issue. The weather was great, we were hoping for an upgraded room, because we are Couples repeat guests (been to Couples Negril), but that didn't happen, and that was fine also. We paid a ton of money for our 5 day trip, and as I said, we've been to Jamaica many times. We would not return to this particular property, unless it was on sale, because we have been to many RIU's and Sandals, and other Couples properties, and we didn't feel that this one was worth what we paid. The staff was great, the room was okay, but just not worth what we paid.

Iberostar Waves Rose Hall Beach: I recommend

Friendly staff, clean resort, great food (coconut crispy fish was unreal), beach was nice, pool is clean and huge, espresso was surprisingly good, everyone is in a good mood, all good things to say. Highly recommended

Melia Braco Village: Great Resort!

This resort is newly renovated and the grounds are kept very nice. Very modern looking and pleasant staff. There is a VIP section called "Level" and if you are staying at this resort you should definitely book this section as it has it's own pool, beach area and butler service. I would recommend booking an ocean front room on the first floor. I would definitely recommend this resort to my friends and family.

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Simply Paradise

Prior to our trip I sent an email directly to the hotel requesting something special for my friends 50th birthday celebration, they did not disappoint. We arrived to receive VIP check in, robes and slippers & pool towels in our room and al a carte reservations already booked! The resort was breathtaking, every square inch of it!! The food was incredible, our favorite was the Don Pablo (you have to have the Chateaubriand). Kevon (pool entertainment), Evrad & Winston (lobby bar), Gilly (watersports), and Maycelinne (housekeeping) were amazing; the hotel should be proud to have such amazing people in their employ. I would recommend this hotel to everyone, it was a relaxing & fantastic place.

Sandals South Coast: Fantastic resort

Dining and staff were top-notch. Incredible customer service by all staff. No line-ups or waiting for food or drinks. The drive from the airport was an hour and a half which is quite long. The long drive was definitely worth it. If you like shopping this resort is likely not one for you as there is no shopping close by. Vendors do come on site twice a week with a good variety of stuff to buy. Sandals Dunn's River: Good Resort.

We stayed at this resort recently for our honeymoon. It was a very nice resort! The food was great, especially the a la carts. The staff were very friendly. The only downfall was that we went here because our travel agent told us it was good for honeymoons, but we didn't really feel that way. We weren't acknowledged for that at all.. We told the front desk we didn't like the location of our room as we were right over the parking lot which was really loud for us, and they responded with telling u [... read more]s we would have to pay extra per night if we wanted to move. We felt like they didn't really try to work with us or accommodate us at all. Other than that, good resort :)

Riu Ocho Rios: Ok Resort....

The hotel is a little dated but clean, not what I had expected from the photos. Definitely wouldn't rate this higher than a 4 Star resort. The housekeeping and mini-bar staff, not very helpful or consistent. When we arrived the first day we had a one litre bottle of water which we had drank the second day we were there and we were there for 6 days. The bottle of water, the mini-bar and the glasses in the room were never replaced nor was the mini-bar restocked throughout the entire trip. I had [... read more] even left money and a note asking the housekeeping staff to please ensure the water was replaced. On day 3, I specifically spoke to the housekeeper on our floor who sent me to speak to a housekeeper on the 2nd floor, as she told me she was the one who would clean my room, who then told me it was not her job but the min-bar attendants job to replace the water and re-stock the mini-bar. On day 3 I just resorted to taking a bottle of water from the cart the mini bar attendant was pushing around on another floor. And on day 5 I resorted to doing the same. As I said the water, the glasses and the mini-bar were not restocked for our entire trip. Although they have bottles of liquor in the room as this is a RIU and what they are known for, its kind of hard to make a drink without glasses! Not at all what I am used to. We have travelled many times all-inclusive and I have never felt this frustrated! The beach was ok..not great but ok. I will say though, that the food and the rest of the staff were amazing! The restaurants and the servers were outstanding! Overall, if we were to go back to Jamaica we would stay at a different resort.

Grand Palladium Jamaica: The Only Way To Vacation

From the moment we landed in montego bay there was a representative waiting to take us to our bus. We left the airport right away and to about 40 min to get to the resort Check in was fast and when we opened the door to our room, paradise. Food was amazing and the staff truly made our vacation the most relaxing one we have had yet They really do care about the people who visit.

Samsara Cliff Hotel: Time of our life!

This was truly a dream vacation. My son, 12, and I, spent 3 weeks at Samsara. Our home away from home. The staff were lovely, friendly, fun, very professional. The grounds were lush, pretty, incredibly well kept. The Grounds Keeper worked so hard to insure a beautiful property. Rooms were cozy and imaculate. We were in a jungle setting, surrounded by flowers, birds, lizzards, massive trees, such greenery. Making it feel that much more authentic. Private. Peaceful. Quiet. We felt safe and very well taken care of at all times. If you're looking for excitement, only a few min drive to the hustle n bustle. This hotel offers a free Shuttle to their Sister Hotel, Legends, right on 7 Mile Beach. Such a nice added touch, best of both worlds. Food, home style cooking made with lotsa love. Kitchen and Wait Staff are fantastic. Happy, always singing and dancing, welcoming, efficient. Breakfast omelets were the bomb! Fresh fruit everyday. Local cuisine. Amazing Italian Restaurant on site as well. The Hotel is surrounded by a vast array of other restaurants close by which is always fun to venture and experience. The pool was perfect size, very clean. It's a quiet resort so never a shortage of lawn chairs. I cried for 3 days leading to check out/departure, dreading to leave this piece of paradise, slice of heaven! There aren't enough words to describe my love for Jamaica, the people, the culture, the vibe and energy but also this quaint, family operated gem. I can't wait to return to my happy place!

Grand Palladium Jamaica: Great Time!

Note: To those who do not like large resorts and lots of walking, you may want to look elsewhere. We didn't mind the long walks. Also, be advised that the resort is currently undergoing some renovations (which we were not advised of prior to booking or departing) in November 2016. The disruptions were minimal however. Other than that, [... read more] we had a great experience at the Grand Palladium Jamaica. The pool is one of the best in the Caribbean we've ever had the luxury of using. The beaches are okay (clean and spacious), but are not on the sample level of beauty as Mexico, or even close to Cuba. The entertainment and serving staff go above and beyond to ensure you have everything you need and are comfortable. Food in the a la cartes we visited (Italian, Steakhouse, Indian, Mexican) was exceptional, however the quality and variety in the buffets need improvement. By no means will you starve, however. Rooms are spacious and clean. We were fortunate to have a 3rd floor, ocean view room given to us upon arrival and could not have been more pleased.

Riu Ocho Rios: Not too impressed

The hotel was outdated, a few people from the front desk were rude and not very helpful. They did not decorate our room for our 15 yr anniversary even though it was mentioned at the time of booking and also 5 different times once we arrived. They gave us an oceanview room even though we payed for OceanFront. The kitchen staff was great, Kimarley from the buffet was very nice. They were not conscious of vegetarian food being separate from meat dishes, nor were the serving spoons separate. Being a [... read more] strict vegetarian, I cannot eat anything that gets contaminated with meat. I was very disappointed about this.
