Melia Cayo Santa Maria: Peacefull Resort

This is a smaller resort, a little older, with upgrades being done, staff is great, grounds are beautiful and clean, beach is great, 2 nice big pools, some of the food was very good but other not so good. There are not a lot of activities on the site, perfect to relax and rest.

Melia Marina Varadero: Very nice resort ... but

Everything was lovely from this resort. The hotel is new and of quality. The beach was hot and clean. The only thing that we did not like was the food at the resort. I would go to other resorts in varadero and Cuba, and my conclusion is that the food was sub par when compared to other 5 star resorts.

Sol Cayo Santa Maria: Great experience in a friendly resort

For our first time on Cayo Santa Maria island, we chose the Sol resort for its smaller size and attractive price. There we found a friendly atmosphere with pleasant staff, good service and all the amenities we needed. The front desk personnel were particularly helpful in answering our questions and accommodating us with a room of our choice (room 2807, higher floor and ocean view is perfect!). Entertainment wise, we much appreciated the dancing group’s evening shows, as well as the occasional social dancing with the participation of the pro dancers. One thing that was missing maybe is information on the different shows and activities taking place in the resort during the week; a posted schedule of those would help the vacationers to better plan their day. This however is a very minor thing! Overall, we are very satisfied of our stay at the Sol Cayo Santa Maria. Obviously, expectations of quality for a 4-star hotel in Cuba has to be different from what they would be in North America or Europe. Yes, buildings and rooms at the Sol could use a facelift… But for us, all our priorities -and more- were fulfilled in this resort. As for the beach experience, it was fantastic… spectacular stretches of fine white sand, not over-developed, not too crowded, and bordering crystal clear water. A great and very enjoyable vacation!

Tryp Cayo Coco: Tryep Cayco Coco

It is an older resort. Rooms very dated and beds very bad. The pools are good, grounds not too bad. The alcarts resturants are very good. The buffet is good many options with grilling options. Service is excellent. The beach is one of the finest which helps even out the resorts age. We are not drinkers but people looked pleased with the bars. Tryp Cayo Coco: Great resort !!

Everyone was so friendly and kind. Rooms felt a bit dirty but the maid came everyday and cleaned everything. Great entertainment at night. They did pool and beach games. The beach was unreal. White sand blue water. Everything was easy to navigate going off the resort everyone was very helpful.

Melia Las Antillas: great getaway

We had a great vacation the resort was beautiful .Being an older resort it was very clean and comfortable . The staff were amazing. The food was good lots to choose from and the fresh cooked fish was excellent. We had the best Pina Coladas ever. We took 2 day trips and enjoyed these .The entertainment was great .It was just what we needed.

Melia Las Americas: excellent resort-people very friendly-clean-activities were outstanding-room was exceptional

there was a variety of food with tastes for everyone the staff was very friendly & helpful and we wanted for nothing the room was outstanding and far above our expectations next vacation to Cuba will be at Melia Las Americas for a longer stay

Paradisus Rio De Oro: 50 th. Wedding Anniversary

Best vacation we ever had. The 5 star resort have thought of everything. Our accommodations were fresh and clean, we had a first level corner unit with beautifully kept gardens surrounding it. The food was excellent with 4 restaurants and the buffet. The people working at the resort were so helpful and respectful. We were there to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary and are already planning our 51st anniversary at the resort next year.

Memories Cayo Largo: Interesting Holiday

Beautiful resort, clean, kind staff. Best food we've had in Cuba. Cubana flight worst. Just don't! 14 hour delay, scary plane. No communication. Rude guests at resort. Budding, spitting, cursing, we were 2 of 15(ish) English speaking guests at the hotel. Never encountered guests as rude as this. Barking orders, snapping fingers. Hard to relax under such circumstances. Felt awful for the staff and ourselves. Ocean was red flag to the point you would get hurt if you went in. Strong strong currents [... read more]. Respect the sea! So many good things at this resort over shadowed by rude guests and as beach goers I wouldn't return. This is common to the area so be forewarned. No such thing as a bad holiday, we make the best of any situation. Unfortunate as I feel it could have been the best week if certain situations didn't occur. Being cussed out by people for asking them to get in line is not my idea of a holiday.

Melia Marina Varadero: Perfect to relax

Amazing. Food is great, rooms are clean, resort is large, and the drinks are strong. The only thing I wish they improved was their beds. Their pillows were very flat, it might be a good idea to bring one. Additionally, it is hard to get new towels, I would also bring one with you.

Melia Marina Varadero: Amazing resort

Remember that when in Cuba you are in Cuba, not some rich country where they have everything, but a place filled with very friendly hard working people. We were really impressed by the resort. Very clean room and friendly staff. Buffet has plenty of choices. The view on the marina is beautiful. Beautiful beach. Sunwing rep was extremely helpful. No complain at all. Simply awesome 7 days.

Melia Marina Varadero: A good time

I like the hotel but needs a bit of reno. Staff was great. Food was great. The restaurants were good except we were very disapoint from the Asian Restaurant which was not what the menu presented and the staff never smile or interact with us. Italian and Mexican resto were good. Beautiful place My only thing is that the beach is far and we had to cross over a highway.

Melia Las Dunas: NIce resort

We spent one week at this resort the first of April. THe resort is big, be prepared to do a lot of walking. THe beach is amazing, we enjoy d the beer garden! we stayed on the adult side. THe swing up pool bar was nice. The food at the buffet at breakfast was ver good. THe coffee was amazing ! I miss the Cuban coffee When eating at the main buffet be careful of what you eat. Melia Marina Varadero: Worst resort

We have travelled over 15 places in past 8 years and this resort was the worst so far. We arrived there at 11 am and we had to wait for the room till 5:20. Front staff was very rude. Resort is very run down. Sheets smelled like pee and they were smaller than the bed. Food was really bad. With two kids it was the worst experience. Al cart was only allowed 3 nights out of 7 which I have never seen before. Resort was over crowded so Buffett we always had to wait in line. Will never go there again.

Melia Marina Varadero: A good resort for Cuba!

Alright, so going to Cuba, I was warned about the food and I was told not to expect too much of anything. I got to Cuba and I was very pleasantly surprised! The food was good (considering it was Cuba), the resort was big and very beautiful and the rooms were good. Melia Varadero: Beautiful vacation in a lovely peace of paradise

Dear friends at Melia....I have spent a beautiful week as a single person in Melia Varadero at the beginning of April. My time there has been every little bit wonderful as I was hoping. Vacationing alone was never causing a single issue and made it for even more interaction and caring by the hotel staff... Melia Varadero Hotel is kept in excellent shape, well maintained and clean. Everything in the room was lovely, and it w [... read more]as kept clean and welcoming by my sweet maid, Jaqueline and supervised by Balkis....Both where extra friendly and helpful and went beyond their jobs to make my stay wonderful! The hotel is situated on the lovely stretch of white sandy beaches, and even though there are some rocks on beginning of the beach and a bit of walking to "clear sand", it was absolutely georgeous. Landscape, views from the grounds, sunsets and many places to sit, relax and look at the ocean make it for amazing experience. Two outdoor bars are excellent for the morning coffee and breakfast or those daytime mojitos, coffee stops and casual sitting in your bathing suit.... I enjoyed chatting with the wonderful and acommodating hotel staff (Luis, Dania and a few others)... I visited all of the hotel restaurants except for the stake house (dont eat red meat) and can recommend all of them. Food was very good especially when you get to know what are the specialties of each one... My favourite place for lunch quickly became either Trinidad, by the window, with excellent calamari and white Spanish wine or deliceous paella in Brasas...at night I loved visiting Brasas again for atmosphere, food and people; I also enjoyed my sushi experience and an evening at more upscale Fuertaventura with amazing food and nice music... Among best restaurant staff is the trio in Brasas: Erianna, Henry and chef Dashael; preparing great food, serving you with smiles and are so lovely and friendly...! Entertainment in the hotel was very good, excellent young dancers and animation team, active but not too pushy, though is a little noisier by the pool as usual... I joined aerobic classes with Daira which where great... Live daytime music was lovely, thanks to the wonderful and talented Trio Vocal Renaserra... who are awesome entertainers and became my dear friends so quickly... Please keep them !!! Special pleasure were visits to the lovely and affordable art gallery in hotel, as well as chats with Liudmila who will cheerfully book your restaurants and make great suggestions...Reception was very fair - one and only issue with my room phone was fixed right away. The only suggestion for hotel would be a fresh coat of white paint outside and not as loud evening music in disco which didnt disturb me, but can see it a problem for guests on lower floors. The place I did not enjoy was the buffet restaurant: it is too big, too loud (lots of cutlery and dishes dropping) and definitely needs redesigning of some sort....Food there didnt impress much either, but fresh juices were great! ...then I didnt need it much with all the other food options... you can also take the breakfast and eat outside as well....I used to spend most of the time at the ocean, but pool is very nice and clean and makes for great alternative. Plenty of showers, lots of towels.... Smiles, sun and music everywhere... Overall, it was an amazing stay and I would definitely recommend Melia Varadero and people who make it so special...Cuba and wonderful Cuban people never disappoint!

Sol Cayo Coco: Family gathering

The grounds were lush, food was great! Playa Larga beach is calm and beautiful. The employees are wonderful and we met so many amazing people from around the globe.room 2331 had a beautiful view. will surely return :-)

Melia Jardines del Rey: Great amenities, service lacks

I thought it was a great resort, the food quality can improve and the hotel service can improve. There was no towel service all week, no shower head in our room and no room phone or line to call anyone. Other than that it is truly an open mind when you are in Cuba. The weather was great and the tourist groups were great. 7 days are plenty -

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Bird Paradise

My husband and I truly enjoyed the Paradisus Rio De Oro. The Staff was amazing and the whole resort was kept pristine. I have been to Cuba many times and this is the most peaceful and lush place I have been. I have never seen so many birds in one place, they love all of the foliage and their songs are beautiful. If you are looking for tranquility you must visit this place.

Resort was one of the nicest resorts I have stayed at. No problems at all very well run. staff very friendly, food whatever you wanted anytime beach pool all great. Room beautiful. Would love to go again and would definitely recommend resort.
