Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: great vacation, will be back a fourth time!

Great beach and scenery, clean rooms, nice people, great stay, will be back! Weather was not great, but that is not something one can blame on the resort... Food OK, not great, but you won't starve, good hamburgers, pizza, omlets, fruits, yogurt, juice..

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Nice resort but ...

The rooms were clean and nice and the food was really, really good. Nice array of drinks as well. Beach was long enough to have a good walk but near the hotel it was hard to get out far enough to swim as lots of rocks, coral, etc. further along the beach swimming was much better. The resort itself is beautiful with stunning views. Night life so so. Usual dance shows and early entertainment in the lobby. However, disco seriously smelled of mould and so using it was impossible - rarely did I see  [... read more]anyone in there. They really need to add more dancing music at night, other than Cuban and perhaps karaoke or something as you pretty well have to make your own entertainment after 10 pm. The spa was great but massages too expensive for Cuba given that the CUC is on par with American dollars. The spa was never busy and that's probably why. I had an massage and it was great. The private beach at the spa is great as well. Then water for showering is hard and has a lot of Chemicals in it and very hard on the hair so if you have colour in your hair beware. Also, Internet sporadic at best, only available in the lobby and expensive (this may be different at the Royal suites) Staff were great and very accommodating. If I went again I'd stay in the royal suites end.

Playa Pesquero: Amazing stay

A beautiful resort with well kept grounds and exceptional great service. The people in Cuba are just special and despite the political system and their standard of living, they are always friendly and make you feel welcome and special. We won the trip by participating the Trip Trivia with Tripcentral and wouldn't have chosen this place by ourselves, but with that great experience we would go back there any time.

Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Very good resort for the price

Very good beach, but lacks restrooms and service. Also lot of rocks, so need to take water shoes. Hotel service was very good, rooms were clean and well maintained. Food generally OK, ranging from really good to below average. Buffet used for most meals was generally quite good. Long, rough ride to and from Holguin airport. Grounds are beautiful. Staff were terrific.

Sol Turquesa Beach: great resort

The resort was overall good. The internet access was not available for 3 days and the food was..well..in Cuba not to expect much. Staff was very good. Nice pools and beach and overall good value. I would go again.

Sol Turquesa Beach: resort is amazing

spent a week with family and friends at this resort and I cant say enough about it...the grounds are kept beautiful, and the food, oh the food, was everything we expected, not like other resorts we have been too ....the staff were great when we complained about our mattress, it was replaced right away We will go again with more friends this time.....

Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Great staff

Overall the "plus" side of this hotel was very good. The cleaning staff and the grounds keepers kept the inside and outside in top shape. The bar and restaurant staff and especially the activities staff went above and beyond to make this stay very enjoyable.

Sol Turquesa Beach: Best points and areas to improve

In my opinion, based on stay Nov 26-Dec 3 2014, the resort has strong points superior to many other resorts, but also areas to improve. What made a good impression: 1. Large territory with grand common buildings and lots of greenery 2. Beach with beautiful trees 3. Spacious clean rooms 4. Desserts in the buffet (these surprised me - the best out of many resorts including Melia and Iberostar in Spain) 5. Caliber of entertainment shows (e.g. opera singing) 6. And at last, but far from the least - [... read more] cheerful, helpful staff and management: I was especially happy with Public Relations representative Ariel and his associates (with regard to possible change of our accommodation based on my health problem) Problematic areas, fixing of which does not seem hard, but would greatly impact the overall impression: 1. Beach (cleanliness): - GARBAGE (e.g. plastic) on the beach or visible in the nearby greens - Sea weed cleaning (amassed piles were left for 4-5 days); one person solely responsible for ongoing maintenance should be enough! - Some umbrellas required replacement of the roofs (other resorts have much better ones) - Soupy white matter noticed in the sea water on the right side of the beach (please check for a possible source not to allow the problem to grow if it is local) 2. Buffet restaurant (smell, birds) - At least, a short wall should be built between the stale water area (which smells) and the food area - Birds on the tables (they are cute and tolerated, but there is a potential hygiene issue here) 3. Territory (Landscaping) : gradually cutting some thin trees with mouldy trunks and planting more exotic plants (e.g. coconut palms, aloe types of plants, generally anything with large or juicy leaves and/or bright colors). Playa Pesquero: Up to the good reviews.

This resort was one of the best places I've been to Cuba so far. Not super-luxury but everything you'd expected: clean, well maintained facilities, variety of foods, drinks, good entertainment. The beach and the ocean were superb; I didn't use the pool area but in passing it looked clean, nice, lots of people enjoying it. There were a variety of dining places, bars, stores. The staff is polite, helpful and skilled. As points to improve would be more choice of fresh fruits; the fountains at the l [... read more]obby area would be spectacular if they were working. All in all I recommend this place full-heartily.

Playa Costa Verde: Another Fantastic Time!

This resort is very well kept and has very beautiful grounds! The buildings are a little dated but fairly well kept and the food is as good as any I've had in Cuba! Staff as always are exceptionally friendly and helpful. I love this resort and wouldn't hesitate to go back....in fact I wanna leave now!

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Great hotel

Weather, food, staff, entertainment, amenities were all A1. Great market place next door for souvenirs. Take a buggy ride and see the surrounding area and meet the friendly locals. Looking forward to our next vist here.

Sol Turquesa Beach: Riu Playa Turquesa

This hotel is not a real Riu and it's not a 4.5 star. The room are poor. The pool are excellent. The service and staff are very good. The beach chairs were well organise, you arrive and a man bring your chair where you want them, and when your done the chair are pick up. No empty chairs on the beach. The beach was not nice. I will not go back.

Sol Turquesa Beach: Too much loud entertainment. There was no escape.

Service and resort staff were excellent. Rooms good and clean. Food decent. The entertainment was incredible. The opera singers were world class. My only real complaint was that they are catering to a few party people at the bar around the pool, but most of the people there were over 50 and would have preferred some peace and quiet for at least part of the day. Even on the beach and as far away as my room, you could hear the PA system from the pool. There was no escape. Playa Pesquero: Great trip

After a late arrival (midnight) the check in process was quick and easy but it was too dark and too big of a resort to find our room, instead we found a golf cart trolley who delivered us and our luggage . Room was clean and spacious. We headed over to the Beer Garden for some food and enjoyed Cuban meatballs (my 11 year olds fave) and fries and drinks. The next day we explored more thoroughly. Everyone at this resort was friendly and Alex at the kids club was so fun for the Tweens. Food was good (for Cuba) and I like that they cook your meat as you ask rather than leave it lying around. Great weather, great people, great trip!

Brisas Guardalavaca: Love this resort!

Stayed in the villa section, room was amazing! Clean, comfortable and ocean view from the balcony. Maid service was incredible. She left us water without being asked. The food was great, lots of variety. The a la carte restaurants were terrific as well!

Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: amazing resort

nice resort, very clean, super good food and entertainment.The beach is OK but a lot of rocks from beginning, no problem with chairs on beach. I loved "a la carta music" show every evening before main show. The best was water ballet. Like the tours the resort offered, very interesting to see country, catamaran tour was the best.The staff very friendly, always smileing with good English. I will go there again.

Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: More than hoped for!!

I found the rooms to be very clean. The beach was quite extensive and never had a problem finding a wonderful spot to lay. The food was exceptional, especially for the fresh seafood every day!! Also the variety of meat that could be cooked to your liking was a bonus! A favorite of mine was the pasta bar at night and the omelette bar in the morning. The staff were very friendly and helpful specially Robert and Suzi from the excursions team.

everything was good people friendly grounds neat sun wing great husband went deep sea fishing had a good time entertainment was good-- liked the dark and white shoe but would like to hear more english songs

Playa Pesquero: Amazing Resort

Beautiful grounds. Outstanding pool. Beach was great. Staff was so friendly and helpful. Rooms were a little tired looking and could use some updating, but overall a fantastic vacation. We would love to come back.
