Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Amazing resort

The room are clean beach is beautiful there is always 3 swimming pools people are very friendly food is good I was there in August very nice weather sunny everyday no rain very hot if someone doesn’t like very hot you need to go there spring or winter time

Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: Fine resort

Food quality could have been better The beach was overall good but the side of this resort were stones and sea weed underneath so we had to go the other side of the beach nearby resort to swim in peace..Overall it was great and staff was helpful and polite.. Boring night parties though

Vila Gale Cayo Santa Maria: Great Resort

I was at Grand Sirenis from Aug 5-12 2023 with my mom and my son. We had an awesome time there. The hotel is clean and the ground is well kept. We had issue initially with the room: the AC and safety deposit weren't working but the staff fixed it and they changed our room. There were plenty of activities to do during the day at the beach or at the pool. Food was pretty good for Cuban standard, there were food for everyone. I brought my own chilli sauce and seasonings to add more flavour. We tried 4 ala carte and french and Cuban were ok, it almost like the buffet food, i love the mediteranian since it has lobster and italian was pretty good. Beach was amazing, white sand and clear water. We saw a starfish and fish swimming around. You can get free boat ride or pedal boat included. There are 2 pools and both of them are pretty good and well maintained. The staff are very nice and helpful. I would like to call out Yasmani for helping fixing stuff in our room, Yenima and Dimay for always helpful in the dining room, Duniels, Irina and many other staff that i couldnt remember each name. You can take a bus from the hotel for $5 round trip to go to the market to buy souvenirs. Here are some tips: 1. Bring toilet paper since the public washroom at the hotel or any place outside usually doesn't have one. 2. Bring your own hot sauce and seasonings in case the food is bland. Also peanut butter or nutella since they only have butter for their bread. 3. Bring your own snacks specially when you travel with kids in case you dont like the food at the buffet or snack bar. 4. Bring a bubba mug so you don't have to make multiple trips to the bar. Overall, we were happy with this resort.

Iberostar Selection Esmeralda: New resort

Overall fair resort, lack of staff, activities, room service , beach is nice , no money exchange available, gift shop the size of my bathroom, and hardly ever open , nowhere to buy cigars , wifi always crashing

Grand Memories Varadero: Great staff and amazing beach!

The buffet staff Arelys and Rigoberto provided great service throughout our stay. Liliana the guest hostess at the front is excellent. Friendly and helpful. The beach is amazing. This is the place to stay with your family!!!

Hotel Playa Paraiso: Good experience

Had a good time and experience overall. Staffs are generally nice and friendly. The buffet choices are ok. The cooks are friendly. The only downside is the internet which is only available in the main lobby and the wifi connection lasts until 11pm.

Grand Aston Cayo Paredon Beach Resort: Great Vacation

This hotel was very clean and the staff were attentive when there was an issue in the room. There was plenty of food and no bugs. Enjoyed the coffee and drinks. As with all places in CUBA there was some issue with food but there was plenty of options. Entertainment was good and everyone made you feel welcome from the front desk staff to the gardeners. Vila Gale Cayo Santa Maria: Great stay at Grand Sirenis Cayó Santa Maria

Great value for money!!! Best beach I have ever been too and I have travelled a lot. Staff at hotel are great . Room was clean and comfy beds. Entertainment was fantastic!!! Booze was good, food was not bad at all and the A la cart restaurants were really good. Only negative was there was always a shortage of toilet paper and to book the a la cart there was always a long line. Hola Sun was fantastic especially Elizabeth .

Iberostar Selection Varadero: Nice vacation

I liked the hotel. Overall well maintained and very clean. The gardens well manicured. No litter. Beaches clean, no algae, tractor with disc harrow cleaning the sand every morning to refresh it. The food was just OK and kinda repetitive. I didn't like any of the sweets, they were too dry. The service was very good. Entertainment was also good.

I’m not one for writing reviews, but I think this is one that needs to be read by travelers going to Cuba. First some background information. I’ve been going to Cuba for many years starting in the late 90’s to the present. I always go for two weeks. My girlfriend and I are easy going and well aware of the economic and the living issues in Cuban. With that said, we expect only a few things on our vacation, and that is nice beach, great weather, cold drinks and edible food. We got all that [... read more] and some. Last trip was to Cayo Santa Maria. My girlfriend and I stayed at Grand Sirenis Cayo Santa Maria, from July 26 – Aug 9 (14 days) The following isn’t what I expected. 1. We arrived on a Wednesday. Thursday we were arranging to book our restaurants. Which we were allowed 3 a week. The rep at the booking informed us they were all booked until Sunday, and that we should come back and try on that day. This became a turn off simple because when we went to the buffet that night, the restaurant employees were asking people to leave the buffet to attend the restaurants without a booking. 2. We like Cuban cigars. We went to the hotel store and purchased one box of Cohiba shorts (10 in a box) for15 US or 20 CND cash. The next day when we went to purchase more, a different employee said they were now 35 US for the same box. For the record they sold them at the airport for 15.25 US or 20.64 CND. I bought them at the airport. Note: all items in the shop had prices displayed, except the Cigars. 3. Sexually harassed on the beach by a Cuban employee who worked at the hotels Sailing / kayaking / paddle boat area. I will not go into the details due to it was very embarrassing for my girlfriend. We reported on the above to our Hola Sun Rep at the hotel, Hotel Public Relations clerk, and the Hola Sun Rep on the return bus trip to the airport (only because she asked). This is the response we got: Issue: 1. This shouldn’t have happened. The Hola Sun rep did offer to assist with the booking, but we declined as we were already turned off. I feel for the people who were only there for a week as they would have only had 2 nights at a restaurant if they weren’t full. 2. The Rep did not want to confront the shop employee as they felt they may get fired. I agreed, but felt if not mentioned the person would continue in what I believe was not right. Remember the price went from 15 US to 35 US. 3. As for the beach incident. They really didn’t know what to do other then apologies for the incident. I believe they should have at least let the employees know of someone’s actions so they are aware they are on notice. I’ve been on vacations where I’ve witness similar incidents get very ugly very fast for both parties. Now on the way home the Hola Sun representative did mention two things that caught my ears. 1. This is the off season so hotels are known to jack the prices on things. 2. There has been an increase in Sexual harassments at some hotels, not just the one we stayed at. Now the above incidents don’t surprise me, and I’ve written this so no one else is surprised. Thanks.

Paradisus Varadero: It is truly paradise

I was at Paradisus hotel the first week of August with my teenage daughters in Varadero beach, Cuba. It is truly paradise, the sand was white, and the sea was crystal clear. The workers were very sweet at the restaurants, the buffets and at all the bars in the hotel. The rooms were very good and the restaurants served many foods like traditional Cuban food. The bars had many cocktails with and without alcohol. The hotel is very clean and well kept. The best things about this trip were the beach  [... read more]and the people I met. Playa Pesquero: #1 resort in 30 years plus of travel to the south

1st time to this hotel and we are looking forward to returning. Beach #1 Staff #1 Food is good, selection is good, are you really going south for the food! Rooms were spacious Showers were awesome. Hot water any time every time. I do not think anyone could honestly complain about this resort. Staff and management congratulations on a job well done. Look for Yonlier. (John) he will make your stay one to remember

Melia Marina Varadero: Terrible resort

The resort was dirty and service non existent. Went to same resort in 2019 but this time it was awful. Pool was hot and dirty and had nothing at the bar but rum. Beer was always running out and pool bars had barely enough food and beer. Will not book Veradaro again.

Villa Caprice: Welcoming resort

My days at Villa Caprice gave me the feelings of tranquility. View from balcony breathtaking specially at sunrise. General Manager and staff were remarkable. Beautiful Island, turquoise sea and I could stay forever. Thank you.

Iberostar Coral Esmeralda: Wonderful vacation!

My husband and I stayed at Iberostar Coral Esmeralda for a week, July 25-August 1, and had a wonderful time. The staff was wonderful, very caring and proactive in anticipating our needs, especially Ariel and Juan Carlos (thanks again for making our stay so lovely!). The grounds are beautiful, our room was very clean and the bed was super comfortable. The food was tasty and plentiful, as were the drinks (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic). The pig roast at the beach bar was fantastic and would  [... read more]highly recommend. The beach is gorgeous. 23 km of white sand and clear water. We spent hours in the water each day. People complain about the lack of variety in the food, however, I feel like we need to keep in mind that the political situation in Cuba is the worst it has ever been and locals barely have enough food to survive. Staff did a fantastic job with what supplies they had. If you have a complaint about the food, complain to upper levels, not the staff that are working 16 hour days (Yup - 16 hour days!) to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Also, while Cuba has a very good medical system, they are in dire need of supplies. If you can, bring some extra Tylenol and whatever else to leave for staff. Thanks again to the staff. We look forward to visiting again in the future.

Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Amazing resort in Varadero

Very nice and well maintained grounds Staff was extremely friendly. I will mention here just a few:Laurita, Barbara, Maria and Ana. Food was normal for Cuba, but the lack of AC in the buffet made eating unpleasant. AC in the room was all the time above 25 Celsius, which was at the limit for being comfortable.

Iberostar Selection Holguin: Beautiful Clean Resort

We just came back from Iberostar Holguin. It's a beautiful 7 day vacation. The hotel is beautiful and clean we are in the 3rd level and 2 connected rooms. Beautiful modern big and clean. The room attendants changing lenins everyday and towel. Everytime we came back room is nice and clean. With fresh bottled water. Beach is really nice two beaches for a small children near the hotel and the other one is in the other side and you have to cross this beautiful wooden bridge. Or you can ride. On  [... read more]the club car. Lots of them so all you have to do is pick up the phone and tell them to pick wherever you are. Or if you are at the beach let the security guard know or life guards. Food at this resorts is abundant. No shortage for sure. Lots of choices. From breads cold cuts cheeses meats seafood pastas and different kind of rice . Lots and lots of selection. Plus lots of desserts and fresh fruits!!! Amazing fruits and fresh juice. And delicious coffee I always get cappuccino .the manager at the bar and buffet and 4 other restaurants is Hippolito amazingly friendly man. Keep up the good work sir!! all servers is nice and helpful. They're always happy to serve you. Mayelin always takes care of us. And the others too. Cocktails and wine.. rum vodkas and whisky.. you have it all. From checking in Yemina is their to help you and Christian. Any other questions the public relations, Wilkyns is so amazing kind always happy to help you in anything. I love people at this Resort. Everyone of them even I didn't even mention names. They are very lovely people. Resort has a 24 hr snack Bar and 24 hr bar as well. Beach has bar to get drinks. And snack. Over all this place is beautiful it's has 3 big pool and other one is for kids. It's fun here too entertain ment every night. And lots of daytime activities. For people who wanted to know if there's mosquito? My son is sensitive to a mosquito bite and he didn't have any single one. It's a beautiful vacation. Occidental Arenas Blancas: Cheap and beautiful

The grounds are pretty well maintained, the hotel it self is dated and the rooms could use a little perk ups, but everything was perfect. For the price your paying you are treated with respect and clean rooms.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: The good, the bad and the ugly.

Damaged hotel unrepaired. A la carte not worth it. Bad food indigestion for 4 days and closes down 2 days after. Privilege section without supervision. We pay (300$ extra approx.) but anyone went there. Room was ok. and we were lucky ones because we heard of horror stories. No more Cuba for a while, until they get their things together. Beaches need some taken care of before they disappear
