Grand Decameron Cornwall Beach: Loved this clean, friendly resort
I heard a lot of complaints from folks, that the coffee was out (for about 3 minutes) to someone who spent 5 minutes complaining about a guest in a bikini top and skirt. So I'll start with the only negatives I saw: 1) a bit of overuse of the megaphone. Not everything needs speakers 2) curtains had some wear and tear with a few holes 3) no toilet paper dispenser 4) paint splatter from previous painting and shower doors didn't close properly. None of these things took away from the fantastic trip [... read more]we had. The things I loved about the resort were 1) the food! So delicious and varied for an all inclusive. Tea and coffee were always available (there were several places to access beverages) 2) staff were friendly and helpful 3) bed was a king sized with a twin, very comfortable 4) the beach was well maintained, sand was soft, there was a bit of a step up out of the ocean but staff were often rushing to help older folks. The view of the sunsets were amazing. 5) someone was always cleaning at this resort. Everywhere and all the time. 6) entertainment- had some wonderful entertainers, singers. One night they had a non-serious casino (chips only, no money). It was lovely to see the staff enjoying themselves as well, appreciating the singing, sharing proudly their delicious traditional food. This is a place I will definitely recommend and return to. But I suppose for some who has a desperate need for fresh washcloths everyday (they always had towels, we had read we should bring our own wash clothes if we wanted them) or you just had to have a toasted sandwich (many guests complained that they had to toast their sandwiches three times) rather than eat the roast beef, jerk chicken, BBQ fish, a thousand sides, and about 5 different kinds of the most delicious fresh bread, then perhaps you deserve to be disappointed.I was not disappointed and look forward to returning.

Royalton Negril Resort And Spa: Best trip ever !
We were there as a group of 10 people from Jan 26 - Feb 2. The Weather, beaches, food, service, staff, entertainment & rooms were all fantastic. I didn't see any bugs anywhere, including mosquitos, sand fleas etc.
I would recommend anyone to go there & consider this a 5 star & was probably our best trip ever !.
We were not bombarded on the beach from vendors. If anything, we had to go looking on the beach to purchase souvenirs.
The service was exceptional, they were even serving us drin[... read more]ks on the beach every day. Room service was also great. We would sometimes order breakfast evening before & they called 5 - 10 minutes in the morning before they brought it.
We didn't have any complaints. We would go back there in a heartbeat !

The restaurants offered a great variety of food choices. The grounds were clean and the staff were fantastic. We particularly enjoyed the steel drum band and the Ragae music during the evening entertainment.

Coco La Palm: Coco la Palm is a nice hotel
Coco la Palm is a great hotel for so many reasons. Very welcoming staff. Very friendly and helpful staff. The food is delicious, nicely prepared. The beach is the best! They have plenty of chairs and shade. You can easily walk to many other hotels for food or drinks. Taxi's are readily available. There is a Hi lo grocery store just down the road. You can buy beer and liquor and many other items there. Take a collapsing cooler with you and fill it with ice for beach. The room has a mini [... read more]fridge. They have a nice weekly managers party and entertainment.
The only downside we currently see is the Canadian dollar is so low and everything pretty much must be converted to US dollar. Yes, you can use Jamaican dollars too. We found that this vacation even though very enjoyable, was very expensive for us as Canadians. We stayed for 10 days and did have 6 meals off of the resort. Some meals were very nice and some just so so. This was our 3rd stay at Coco la Palm and their slogan is We keep coming back. Guests at Coco la palm were all very nice.
They actually give you a tshirt or hat for coming back with their logo on it. All in all, it is a great place to stay.
We traveled to this resort in January 2025 with 19 people including 8 Children ages 5 to 11. The resort over all is Large and Spacious. It never felt crowded and you could always find a Beach Chair. The resort has been renovated in some areas but lacking in others. The Food was excellent but the drinks need improvement. The kids Loved the Water Park and Large Pools. I would suggest this resort but this being our 2nd trip to this resort I would try some place different next time.

Riu Reggae: Amazing resort
I would recommend Riu Reggae to anyone that wants to do a vacation to Montego Bay, Jamaica. I can’t explain how pleased we were of this hotel. I definitely would give 5+ star. The grounds were extremely well kept, the food was excellent, the entertainment was fantastic and the activities during the day was great. Never a time to be bored. The staff was amazing and very friendly. I wouldn’t hesitate to go back there. Thank you for making this a wonderful vacation.

Riu Reggae: RIU Reggae - a great place for a vacation
This resort is spotless with cleaning staff being very attentive to both our room and outdoor amenities. Response to our request for additional pillows, blankets and towels was quick. The hotel offers an APP that you can use for just about anything you may want! You can also make your restaurant reservations and book services using this feature.
There are also plentiful security, attendants and cleaning staff roaming beaches, pools and general premises to ensure safety and cleanliness thr[... read more]oughout. Staff were exceptionally friendly, courteous and attentive to our needs. Buffet and restaurant food was high quality with tons of options to satisfy the most discerning of palates.
Having some cash on hand also helps if you want to recognize individual efforts in providing services. The daily activities organized by the hotel are also fun and help you get the most out of your experience.
Access to other nearby RIU resorts is also handy.
All in all, I would highly recommend this resort and would not hesitate coming back for another vacation.

Royalton Negril Resort And Spa: Wonderful beach
The check in was quick and easy, we did not get the room we booked in building 3/ ocean view due to lack of inventory. But we were upgraded to a family suite with some ocean view . The food at the resort is good but not outstanding, very boring sometimes since you have same dishes again and again.. especially for lunch.
The service is good , ala cart restaurant are ok nothing out of the blue. I have to mention few people that were outstanding with their service, Latouya, Shandol from Grazie!!![... read more] And Tevin at the bar on the main lobby they are at a different level.
At the front desk I will mention Damian the supervisor, great to deal with.
The resort appeared to be tired and needs some updating. The rooms, facilities, stairs..ect.
One of the managers Fred, needs some courses of how to deal with issues ! He noticed us dining for breakfast at Grazie and came to the table to lecture us that we're doing wrong by having breakfast there, since we are not a Diamond club! And it's for Diamond only! He stopped us from dining and kept going on and on! As guests we didn't know that! And we expected a bit more respect.

Riu Ocho Rios: Vey Good resort
We liked the time spend in the resort. The room was comfortable, big enoiugh. It was cleaned every day. Bathroom was very good. Balcony was a nice addition to the room. The beach was perfect, just enough space for everyone, no need to book a place, as the shade was widely available. Food court was good, with good selection of different food. The personal in the court was very helpful. Italian restorant was the best from all others.
Generally speaking, we enjoyed our stay in the resort and would[... read more] not mind to come again.

Riu Ocho Rios: Ya Man
We spent a week at Riu Ocho Rios! Such a great resort! Friendly staff and cleanliness. A good variety of food at the buffet and a la carte. Very safe as it’s on a private beach. However, it’s 1.5 hours from airport but it was worth it.

Ocean Coral Spring: Great resort
Visited the Ocean Coral Spring for one week in January. The restaurants are all great and our room was amazing. We spent the money on the oceanfront and are certainly glad we did (although there are good views from many rooms). The beach was not that great in terms of swimability as there's a lot of coral, so you have to walk around it. However, it was very easy to secure loungers on the beach probably because of the lazy river and the pools, which looked amazing, but as we aren't pool people -[... read more]- so we didn't spend much time there. We enjoyed the bowling alley and lots of other activities. The staff seemed to be hit or miss -- many were great and friendly but some were abrupt and standoffish -- we've not experienced this in Jamaica before. Overall we had a great time!

Dreams Rose Hall: Beautiful Vacation
Just got back from this resort, I had an awesome stay, staff were friendly, room was clean, food was decent. I’m very fussy with food, but I always found something to eat. Their dinner rolls were amazing….The grounds were kept tidy, the beach was kept tidy, a daunting job keeping up with the seaweed and garbage that comes ashore every night. I would go back tomorrow if I could. The only complaint I had was the evening entertainment was terrible.

Iberostar Waves Rose Hall Beach: Not a 5*
There are 3 resorts side-by-side, each more luxurious, the Beaches being the least expensive. We arrived on a Sunday evening to a lobby that displayed yesteryear luxury. A porter took us to our room, dropped off our bags, got a tip and took off with no information or direction about the room or hallway which we found to be like a maze. Here are the good and less than good points we experienced.
The standard room is a decent size and appointed with what would be expected. There is a nice size ba[... read more]lcony with 2 rattan chairs and a table. We had a quiet garden view. There is a large pool with a swim-up bar with several lounge chairs to slow roast in the sun. The sandy beach has a large number of lounge chairs and lots of shade if desired. There is 1 bar and a jerk chicken shack with service provided. The resorts share a well stocked work-out centre and nearby, tennis courts and 8 very nice pickleball courts (though the provided paddles are poor quality). There was no promotion so you are on your own to find playing partners.
What little I saw of the entertainment was very good. MOST of the service staff are very good and friendly, happy to please. Overall, the place was kept very clean.
The food (yes I am critical, I expect good tasteful food): Breakfast offers many different foods, something for everyone. The fruit bar was not great…frozen fruits, tasteless watermelon and pineapple. There was good kiwi, apples and bananas. There was a good juice selection but getting a glass was sometimes a challenge. Lunch and dinner at the banquet hall offered a good variety. However, the taste was hit and miss. Most were very good, others not so much.. I found the roast port overdone and dry and some fish the same. They had mayo as a tartar sauce!!! So simple to make a tartar sauce. The dessert section was interesting. They listed black forest cake…it was chocolate cake, brownies…it was chocolate cake, chocolate cake…yep, chocolate cake. Some desserts were tasteless, a select few worth eating. However, the salad bar was excellent. Lettuce was fresh & crisp, the variety was terrific. The self-serve juice dispenser sprayed juice all over instead of the glass. Not sure if it was ever fixed.
The Japanese restaurant did not serve real Japanese food but the ambiance felt Japanese. The food was fairly good. The Italian restaurant was a disappointment. The salmon was good. I had a penne dish with shrimp. The sauce was like a paste and the shrimp still had the tails on!! Second time, I had chicken with spaghetti. The chicken was fine but the pasta was sticky and the sauce tasted like tomato paste with no spice. The smokehouse served huge meals and the food was very good.
The hotel expects everyone to be tech savvy with a smartphone to use their QR code. It is not seniors friendly and they do not use printed material. We asked for a map, one we could download on our computer….no. What nobody noticed was a map of the resort at the end of the service counter! Reading a map on a 5” screen is not going to work for most seniors.Navigating the maze (hallways) is an adventure until you travel the hallways a few (or several) times. The room we had (and others said the same) a bathroom that smelled of sewage. I put my hand on the handrail in an elevator and it fell to the floor. The tv we had in our room was broken but replaced later the next day (and this was all on our first 24 hours). For those that like coffee, be prepared to have it black. No creamers are supplied in the room and the service at the lobby bar early in the morning is non-existent. The person ignores you until he stacks all his liquor bar, then no smile or good morning. You feel you are annoying him. Service is late so sleep in. It was hard to gauge whether everything opened at 6 AM or 7 AM. It seemed nobody really began to function until after 7 AM.
Overall, this is a decent 3.5* resort at a 4* price

Ocean Eden Bay: Lots of fun & tons of amenities
Rooms are a little tired and rough. Really great food and selection, excellent service. Love the restaurant street set up. The disco is a blast ? Beach is very natural, maybe a bit rocky so bring water shoes. The best watersports services on the beach for kayaking and glass bottom boat was a highlight too.

Princess Senses the Mangrove: Heaven on earth!
We have travelled a lot to the Caribbean and this hotel by far exceeds all expectations! We stayed in a junior swim up room Platinum that came with a butler. Historically we have stayed in privilege and platinum room resorts throughout the Caribbean and not one of them can touch this place or even compare to the level of service and love! From the moment we arrived at the hotel everyone made us feel welcome and comfortable. They are heavily staffed to cover your every need and desire. This is th[... read more]e first place (in the world) we have stayed where everyone that worked there was happy, always said hi to everyone and always asked if we needed anything from the bellhop, groundskeepers and up! Truly incredible customer service. Our amazing butlers (Andre and Jessica) made it extra special (if that’s possible) and brought us stuff we requested from off the resort if it was not available! They decorated the room for my birthday and boy oh boy was it ever decorated! Even the staff as I walked around that day wished me a happy birthday. The level of service is over the top. We for sure will go back and have a new favourite place. I highly recommend this hotel! As a Canadian we don’t like to ask for things and just do it ourselves but they make it really easy and usually think of it before we can. They quickly remember your routine and likes and make sure you have them. Truly incredible experience. Don’t hesitate! GO! I can only speak of the Platinum club vacation but the extra money is without hesitation worth every penny.

Royalton Blue Waters: Nicely maintaned, awesome staff, great ocean views.
Grounds/Beach/Pools: Lots of beach area, sand hand raked daily, landscape and lawn very well kept, pools cleaned and chemical balanced every morning. Lots of loungers at beach and pool areas and re-arranged every morning. Public bathrooms clean, fresh beach towels daily and no silly towel cards. Nice kids wading pool with small water slides, and four large tube slides for older kids/teens.
Needs Attention: Palapas (sun shelters) some canopies need repair. Several backrests broken on beach l[... read more]oungers and lots of cushions missing, dirty or torn.
Inside: Rooms are still new looking and meticulously cleaned daily. AC and Fan work well and have bedside controls along with light switches and the reading lamps are a nice touch. The TV is KEY to not just watching movies but also to checking weekly activities. Make sure your bell hop shows you how to use it. Beds are very comfortable and covers clean. Towels replaced daily. Nice bathrobes but one size. Some may require extra blankets if too cold. Dual rainfall shower heads are a very nice touch. Whirlpool tub in the middle of the bathroom area (draw curtain for privacy). Separate water closet (toilet). Balconies have two chairs and a table for relaxing anytime. Mini fridge has soda, beer and water.
What Needs Attention: Some in-room lights not working. Broken shower head holder that was not repaired during our 10 day stay.
Food: Excellent variety but try not to sample everything first day. They have theme days and vary the menu quite well. The restaurants must be booked via the inhouse APP loaded on your device and it could be frustrating the first time so get help. The restaurants food is very good and most have upgrade ($) options for entree's and wine. They should allow guests to partake in one or two more specialty restaurants available at the neighbouring Hideaway section. (We do not like Indian food and that left one less restaurant available to us). Overall food was very good.
Needs Improvement: Some portions are too large. (Steakhouse, Pasta). We found seasoning too salty and/or creamy. (Diabetic).
Bars: Tropical cocktails menus very popular but take too long to prepare. Martini bar is probably the best and most popular in the evening. Lobby, beach and pool bars always busy as folks just hang around sipping drinks on the stools, thus hampering other guests trying to order drinks.Get your drink and move on. Take advantage of the drink service. (Staff walking around Lobby, Pool, Beach) to order your drink.
Needs Attention: Not all bars carry same inventory like Fernet-Branca (excellent digestive amaro). Some often run out of Sweet Vermouth, Campari, or Aperol.
Summary: This is a five start resort that is well kept. At the most basic level it's very good. You can indulge in extras ($) from spa's to personal chef experience, daily cabana rentals with private pools right up to the Diamond Club package, especially if you enjoy high end drinks and liquors.
