Royalton CHIC Antigua: Just came back.

Where to start... I was only at this resort for 3 nights. I wouldn't have lasted any longer if I didn't get a new room. Our room was in the slums of the resort. Smelled like cannabis daily. It was clean, but very run down. No hot water and any time of day. My walk to my room made me feel like I was in a back alley of the worse streets in a very bad town. Food was good!! Can't complain. Beach was nice, but they don't rake it to clean up all the debris that washes up on shore. Under staffe [... read more]d, but the ones that were working were very nice.. Except for our "bell hop" he asked to carry our luggage to our room, but he was only going to take mine and then he only took it to the top of the stairs and dropped it. Good thing he didn't wait for a tip, cause he wasn't going to get one!!! Vendors on the beach, got a bit annoying....All of them had a "special today" Everything was sold in US funds, which made any and all items too expensive for what they had. Friends of mine had a "pool side" room and it was a lot nicer. Still run down, but nicer. If I were to ever go back, I'd want a pool side room for sure.

Jolly Beach Antigua: Could have been great

Stunning location, probably one of the best beaches I have seen and the staff were really helpful and polite. The whole atmosphere is laid back and relaxing. The resort its self looks a little tired but for a three star rating its good value for money. My biggest beef would have to be paying for a superior room and on arrival being told we would have to down grade with no real reason given. The room given had noise from the nightly entertainment until around 11.30pm and then noise from the  [... read more]kitchen crew arriving around 5am, as we had only booked for a week we just didn't want to spend our time complaining to get another room but it spoiled the stay enough that would not go back.

Jolly Beach Antigua: Great resort!

The resort was huge, a lot of walking on a mile long beach of white soft sand and lots of sunshine. There wasn't a lot of shade to be had but it could be found if you looked. The meals were good, lots of variety. Something for everyone. The staff of the hotel couldn't have been nicer! So polite and accommodating!

Royalton CHIC Antigua: Great Vacation

It was clean the food was great and the staff were fantastic. Dave is very attentive to all guests. Our room was freshly painted and the beach is amazing. Lots of chairs and shade areas. We seemed to miss the rain all week. The Buffett could be a little bigger and the Peir restaurant only allowed 1 booking per week not 3. Overall the price was awesome.

Royalton CHIC Antigua: Amazing location and weather

The white sand , the nice sea, and the closeness to them makes the resort amazing. You can walk on the beach all day long .... But, if you wanted to stay in shadow place , you had to " reserve " it early in the morning. The resort itself is old and badly maintained. The repairs are made if somebody complains ( or not made at all ). There is only one restaurant and to get the table you have to wait , there is not enough staff to clean and set tables in timely manner. St James Club and Villas: Top notch resort!

can’t Complain about this gem Resort was at 90%capacity but we never felt crowded anywhere. The beaches although they couldn’t be called pristine were very nice and not busy at all. Always found beach chairs at any time of the day which was awesome

St James Club and Villas: Truly Amazing!!!

My wife and I just returned from a lovely week-long vacation. We stayed Feb 9th to 16th. We had a blast! Our room was clean and quiet, and close to everything (pool, buffet, beach). The food was great; there was always something new to try. Hearing the ocean at night was amazing and truly relaxing.

Royalton CHIC Antigua: Needs Work

With some updating it could be a nice resort. Needs bigger buffet .The food was good but area too small. More staff needed..pool cloudy and small. It has great potential . the beach is nice. The price was good for the resort would not pay more..the iisland is beautiful and the tour we took was worth what we paid..had a fun time with Terry our tour guide..

Jolly Beach Antigua: Best beach I've ever been to

I normally don't write reviews but when you go to a resort with an incredible beach like this, it's hard to be quiet. The water was warm and had a beautiful turquoise blue colour that looked like a vivid dream from your imagination. The hotel room was a bit dated but to be honest, we were in the rooms just to shower and to sleep. The staff was friendly and the jerk chicken by the grill close to the beach was incredible. Loved it!!

Royalton CHIC Antigua: Excellant Beach!

Resort has excellent beach, good food, & good people. Resort is tired looking & needs a renovation. The pier alacarte restaurant needs to be opened 7 days week not 5 days which puts pressure on the buffet. The beach bar is understaffed!!

Royalton CHIC Antigua: Not a bad resort

For the value the resort was great. It had a beautiful beach. The rooms were ok except for the bathroom. Nice size rooms. We had great food everyday. The only issue was they need to have another a la cart and more staff. Everyone was friendly. Would we go back. Yes in a heartbeat if they keep the price down.

Great place we will be back we had room 605 top floor a few stairs but room was basic great food and the staff was amazing!!!The weather was perfect easy to find your way around !!!The drinks great and I can’t say enough about how good the staff was.

This was our first trip to Antigua and we loved it!Halcyon Cove was perfect for us and went beyond what we were expecting.we had a pool view room that was spotless and the air conditioning worked great .the food was really good too.The staff was really friendly and always smiling. The beach is amazing !! We will be back

Royalton CHIC Antigua: A 3star is a 3 Star

Although this resort is dated and in need of repair it was good value for the money. Spend the extra to be in the renovated rooms on the beach, the room we were in was freshly painted but more needs to be done. The beds were old but reasonably comfortable. The rooms were clean. Tv reception was poor and not resolved with several attempts. Wifi was decent. The food was hit and miss. The beach is beautiful! The pool was small and cloudy didn’t swim in it. Royalton CHIC Antigua: Great resort

I love the beach. It is amazing. The food was great. The staff was friendly. However the room was a bit dated. They are doing some painting around the building. The TV was not working. I made a request at the front desk. The repair man came and put another in, but the reception was not good. No wifi in the room so I will have to go to the lobby to check emails and make calls. I would go back again, but give them a while to get stuff sorted out.

Ocean Point Resort and Spa: Cozy and quiet resort

My daughter and I stayed at The Ocean Point Resort and Spa. We had a lovely week. The staff was very friendly and accommodating especially Vincent. There were a few different events organized that week DJ and dancing , pianist, and a band that came in Thursday night Asher Otto and Itchy feet they were amazing. The food was fresh and delicious with many choices and yummy pasta dishes A couple of nights there was a bbq. Lots of fresh fruit and vegetables. Our room while dated was nice and clean a [... read more]nd the beds were very comfortable. I don’t spend much time in my room so as long as my bed is comfortable I’m happy. The wifi worked well in most places on the resort . I did go to the spa and Melinda was a good masseuse, but l like a bit more of a private setting, the spa was set up off the beach and other people could easily walk in. The resort is rated a 3 out of 5 but I would easily give it more of a 4 out of 5. The resort has about 64 rooms and I personally like the intimate feel of a smaller resort. I would definitely recommend this resort to family and friends.

The Verandah Antigua: Great for Relaxing Vacation

This resort was great for a quiet relaxing trip if you wanted it to be. I chose to spend my time at the smaller Rasta Beach, the Bar and grill were great., try the veggie burger with grilled pineapple and sautéed onion! The water is calm, warm and crystal clear. As a solo female traveler I felt safe leaving the resort to explore Devils Bridge or walk to Long Bay. Managers BBQ was delicious, all drinks and espresso bar were great. The entire vibe was really relaxed almost a cottage vibe in a carribean setting. I enjoyed the land scape, resort and whole island is hilly. Room was great, very spacious with large private Verandah over looking the water, many beautiful birds to watch. This location is great if you are into the laid back water sports, SUP, snorkeling, kayaking...etc. Nightly entertainment was great don’t have to worry about crazieness, it’s just fun relaxing entertainment, like bands etc. I would definitely return.

Food was great! Staff were friendly. Rooms were three star and our air worked. Had a pool view room. Not a fan of the pool. Ocean and beach was very nice. A la carte was ok but charged for steak. Drinks were great depending on bar tender but most were great! I would come back. Barely any water sports but lots to do on the island!

Ocean Point Resort and Spa: Not quite how it’s advertised!

Unfortunately, this resort is not what we thought it would be, based on the research I did before I booked the trip in the Fall of 2018. First of all, there are two beaches; one is maybe 100 feet long and the other is maybe 200’ feet long. If you want to walk, you have to do that on the roads! Secondly, it’s not really an all inclusive resort. On the day I arrived, I ordered a Mojito. It cost me 8 USD! The A la Carte restaurant costs money plus a 15% gratuity and a 10% tax!! Yes, it had that feel, and yes it was run by Italians... for Italians... but unless you speak fluent Italian you don’t get to participate in the exercise classes ( one session, for men only, in one afternoon), the aqua fit (one session in 7 mornings), or the games night ( one evening). Finally, the buffet is good but not great! A lot of the food was unappetizing looking. There was only fresh fruit at breakfast, and what was left from it became fruit cocktail at lunch. Only once was there beef served, and it looked like calf liver and was very tough and chewy. However, there was a lot of fish served, but not seafood. The local Antigua staff at the bar and resto (Vincent, Kalia, Debbie), the lobby and those in housekeeping were amazing !!! The Italian staff were rude, unwilling to speak English ( if I said ‘good morning’, I might have received a grunt as a reply!), and they seemed only interested in their Italian guests. I have nothing against Italy or Italians! I love the country, the culture, and the people, but when a Canadian friend asked to go into the lighthouse to have a look, they were told “No! It’s for Italians only!” Overall, if I ever go back to Antigua, I’ll stay at Jolly Beach which everyone seems to rave about! Ocean Point is clean, in a safe area, beautiful, and very quiet. It’s quite lovely in its location. I think the owners should stop accepting tourists from the UK and North America!

Royalton CHIC Antigua: Great 3 star resort

The hotel is close to the airport. There was a great variety of food. The beverage selection was reasonable. The people where all very friendly and helpful. The beach was amazing with lots of loungers to select from. However the rooms where dated but I wasn't there to stay in my room all day. Overall a great trip.
