Decameron Isla Coral: Amazing Beach, Mediocre Otherwise

Beach was simply amazing, the weather was fantastic (February vacation). The staff at this resort were somewhat nice and welcoming, some bartenders and servers went beyond our expectations whereas some were not very welcoming and didn't want to help with some questions we had. The staff at the front desk reception were not very helpful and spoke little to no English. This was very surprising considering most tourists that visit these all inclusive hotels are Canadians/Americans, who are English  [... read more]speakers. Food/Drinks: very very basic with limited selection. Buffets were constantly the same food every breakfast/lunch/dinner. The a la carte restaurant (seafood) was good, but there is only 1 on the resort and menu is always the same. However, you do have the option to try a la carte restaurants at the other Decameron resorts down the beach with a free shuttle service during the evening. Drinks at this resort were either a hit or a miss. Somedays the drinks were amazing while other days, frozen drinks such as pina coladas/margaritas were served as a liquid and almost warm (they were undrinkable). Room: A basic double-bed hotel room with a balcony. The air conditioning unit in our room was constantly fluctuating the temperature, either freezing cold or too hot. Air conditioning unit broke multiple times and staff having to come and fix it. Bed/pillows were also pretty stiff and uncomfortable. Overall decent vacation, the surrounding town had great restaurant/drink options if you are getting sick of the food on the resort. I recommend Restaurante Pineda or Tonita I, which are close by. Absolutely awesome food and drinks and cheap. Around ~$30 USD for 2 entrees and about 4 drinks.

Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: 5 stars

This was the 10th time in the PV and Bucerias area and the first for my partner. She almost immediatley felt safe and comfortable and the 14 days were a joy. Enough pools and beach areas that you can find the one most comfortable for you and the food changed daily so you never get bored with the same buffet items. Staff are fun to interact with and Tony especially made us feel welcome for every meal we had in the general buffet.

Decameron Isla Coral: Mediocre

I find the resort had its ups and downs when we got to the resort nobody at the front desk spoke any English at all so it was hard for us to check in. We had the ocean view room and were given a different room. The good part about it was the view of the beach was amazing the food was okay overall if I had to rate 1-10 it would 5/10

Grand Decameron Panama: very nice resort

This is a very secure resort. The place is gorgeous specially if you have kids with you. The resort includes two water slides. The food is excellent including many restaurants It is very clean & well kept. The beach is also very nice. People are very friendly. The weather is great....warm & hot Unfortunately it's lacking as far as the water sport (sailing.kayaking etc) why ??? Very nice room

Decameron Los Cocos Guayabitos Ramada: Great Resort

This resort was clean, staff was very friendly and helpful. The shows were entertaining and included a lot of audience participation. I did not like the fact that almost everything was in Spanish very little English even thought there were a lot of English speaking guests. We also liked the fact that we were close to the town and could walk to shop. The beach was great, warm for swimming and fun to just people watch. There were a lot of vendors but they did not bug you, all you had to do wa [... read more]s say no or shake you head no and they would leave you alone. The only thing that I did not like was that by 10:00 am all the beach chairs were marked as taken so it was very difficult to get a seat on the beach. There were also a lot of activities for individuals of groups to participate in. Food was plentiful and a good variety. I would go back again.

Great place Friendly staff grounds and room very clean and well maintained Good variety of restaurants for a la cart and child friendly I definitely suggest everyone to get the upgrade to the Plus as you are able to get access to a few of the private pools and beach Beach excellent and very clean The golf course very nice and affordable All that said we would definitely come back and bring more friends and relatives as the experience was amazing

We had good time . It was beautiful hotel delicious food friendly staff , very good service, hot weather. Nice and clean pools, Nice sand beach. We were there for two weeks it was great choice that Maria from trip central choose for us . Panamanian people were very polite honest people . Rooms were nice and clean and renovated.

Decameron Isla Coral: Don’t do it

Our stay at isla coral was not a good one at all! No one spoke English, there was no shows or entertainment and not fun to be had! We had one bartender that we enjoyed who put YouTube on the tv for us to have some fun. Later on we got in trouble by the manager saying we were to loud and it was unacceptable behavior. Yet we were woken up by construction constantly. We hated our time there so much we asked to be switched to a different resort. We got moved to la marina which we LOVED!

Decameron Isla Coral: Potentially Amazing Resort

The Decameron Isla Coral has the potential to be an amazing and beautiful resort. The beach area is the nicest of the strip, also the hotel exterior is breath taking, however the rooms are below par. We found disappointment in our room as we did not not receive the room with a ocean view as these rooms were not available due to the resort not functioning as max abilities. During our stay they were still building and setting up parts of the resorts which was very noticeable to guest. In my opinio [... read more]n they should have not opened until they were completely ready. The rooms also lacked any cleaning, despite leaving very generous tips, when cleaners did come in they often just made the bed and did not leave fresh towels or water and we would have to call the front desk and ask for these. The showers were repulsive, lacking functioning shower heads and hot water. Rooms also lacked some basic amenities such as a small fridge. Although the staff tried their best to serve us, it was evident they were still undergoing major training and many did not speak or understand any English. It was very hard to communicate with any stuff during the week, especially during dinning hours. At the beginning of the week there was very little food options and are all unlabelled , and with the lack of English we often did not know what we were consuming. However this started to improve towards the end of the week as they began to label dishes while offering a wider selection in both English and Spanish. The buffet also offers two grill stations, however no man was there to man these stations until half hour to four minutes after opening time, if we did try to ask for assistance such as if someone could make us pancakes at the pancake station in the morning, due to the language barrier this was unable to happen and was experienced during most meals. The last major complaint is the pool. Despite the beauty, we were unable to enjoy it as the water it’s freezing!! Because of the U-shape design of the resort the pool is shaded most of the day and with not pool heater the water never has a chance to warm causing the ocean water to be Several degrees warmer. All and all the resort is beautiful and has the potential to be a perfect intimate southern oasis for families and couples. Towards the end of the week we did start to see some improvements such as a wider Labelled food selection and having the grill stations maned closers to opening times. We also noticed workers working on the water pipes by the pool which I would assume was either to help water pressure in rooms or to heat the pool. I have given this new resort the benefit of the doubt and I truly believe they will work out all of the kinks and improve services with more training. One suggestion I would like to make is to offer more activities for guest. Although we would told we could go to La Marina during the day to use their non motorized sports when we did they wouldn’t have them out. Also Isla Coral has a much better beach area so it would be great if guest could enjoy this on their beach! We would return to Isla Coral and have already recommended to a friend who is currently booking her stay :)

Decameron Isla Coral: Great Resort

We were hesitant to book this resort as it was brand new and had no reviews, but we are so glad that we did. It is a 1.5 hour ride from PV airport to Guayabitos, something to keep in mind. Also if you were on a large bus, chances are they may not be able to get you directly to the resort as the roads are too narrow. We had a 16 passenger van and it made it with no issues. We were told that there was still things to be completed at the resort so we may hear construction noise. They were still completing the top floor. Both elevators were in working order. Rooms are nothing special or fancy, but clean and comfortable. AC in each room. Bed was a bit hard but still comfortable. In room safe was included. All rooms have a balcony. The grounds are always clean, pool was cool but not freezing cold. Food was good. They tried to keep things changed up at the buffet but there was time where things were repeated. Deserts were excellent. Always chairs and loungers available on the beach. Beautiful beach. Staff was always smiling and eager to help even if some them didn't speak very good English. Juan and Jesus always had cold beverages ready for us at the bar and never let the cup get empty. The animation team was very good and tried their best to keep people engaged in activities throughout the day. Entertainment was ok. Karaoke, bands, music each night from 9-10:30. If you are a early to bed person this may not be good as the noise did echo around the resort do to the "C" shape of the complex. Overall this was an excellent resort and it exceeded our expectations and we would definately return.

I thought the resort was spread out perfectly. The food variety and quality was great. The overall service was great as well. The pools were clean and not too busy , the beach was clean and close to the pools. Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Fantastic Stay!

My partner and I stayed here for 7 nights and it was amazing! This was our first time in the Puerto Vallarta area of Mexico. We flew with Air Transat both ways which was a breeze! The package booked through Tripcentral was both easy and convenient thanks to Rachel Guindon who made it all happen. She was there to answer all of my questions very thoroughly and chose perfect flight times for us. Thank you! There were signs outside of the airport that lead us to the shuttle that took us to the resor [... read more]t. We even got a little history lesson on the bus by the Air Transat Rep! We had to wait a couple of hours before checking in since we were there before the time but the Decameron staff held onto our bags for us while we used the time to eat. The staff actually upgraded our room to one with 1 king bed on a top floor by the adult only pool. We were so thankful for this. The service here is incredible by the way. They always had smiles on their faces, willing to help and were super efficient. Special shoutout to Leo, Vidal, and Yair for your great service. Also to our housekeeper (so sorry I forgot her name but she was our housekeeper from feb 8-15th room 5424) And to Samantha & Ignacio (On site air transat reps) who helped us choose the perfect excursions and were super educated and hilarious! The beach gets packed earlier in the day so finding side by side chairs in the shade can get tough but people on the beach were super friendly and made room for us when they saw us searching for a place. There are quite the number of iguanas around the resort. Do not pet them or feed them. They’re super cute and harmless though! Let them do their thang. On our second day there we saw fireworks at the resort which we loved and another day we celebrated Mexican Fiesta day throughout the complex. Every restaurant and bar had something special going on one even had a Mariachi band! The food was okay to be honest we didn’t expect 5 star meals as this is not a 5 star resort but LOTS of options for everybody! The best buffet is the one by building 4 pool close to the beach bar. They have the most options including pizza and create your own pasta. The snack bars are great too. Burgers are there are good. They always have chips and guac so if you’re on the hunt for that then go here. Overall we loved this trip. The weather and wonderful staff made us wish we were still there. We will be back for sure. TIPS: -Stay in block 4 or 5 for quieter adult pool & bars. Also close to a nice snack bar , theatre, disco and local shops & towel exchange. -Must wake up early as the staff start booking reservations for a la cart restaurants at 8:30. First come first serve . We went to Rodizio, Piccolo and Jap Jap. The Italian Piccolo one has the best tasting food. -Just down the road (toward the disco and theatre) is a convenience store which has snacks, and cigarettes for cheaper than the resort and better selection. - If your package includes a city tour DO IT! You will get to go to some cool places including a few local shops, flea market in downtown Vallarta, a beautiful church and an authentic tequila experience in the mountains. -If you think you’ll be leaving the resort or buying literally anything while you’re there , have lots of pesos. The hotels exchange rate isnt terrible but might as well exchange money before you leave. When we went to Cancun we found that there was more chances to use USD but not here. Pesos is the way to go. - If you’re looking for a party resort, this is not the place for you. We found a lot of the other vacationers were more senior who enjoyed fun but mostly relaxation. Perfect for us but not everyone. -The gift shop charges 10 pesos for plastic bags (good for them) so bring your own if you need them. -The room safe also costs about 30 pesos a day and phone calls even local ones aren’t free. You can see the cashier (also is the one who does currency exchange) to set this up. -Go to the buffet when it first opens or after 8 pm if you’re looking to avoid the line ups and busy times. -Check out the daily theatre shows at 9:30PM everyday! They’re great! - WiFi in common areas only not in the rooms.

Decameron Isla Coral: Up and Comer

The location of the resort was amazing! Beautiful beach and a very lively and friendly city! Overall the resort itself was a big disappointment. I did find out that it wasn't fully open yet and was still "working out its kinks" so I do give it some mercy there. The rooms were clean and spacious, the food was overall good but repetitive. And don't expect any food or drink after 10 pm unless you're wanting to walk the town at that time. Decameron La Marina: Not what we were expecting

We have not experienced an all-inclusive holiday quite like this one. We believe that this hotel should not be renting their rooms out as they are still under renovations. We were on the sixth floor Oceanview which was beautiful But that was the only good thing about this hotel. Every morning we were woken up by people working on rooms above us on the seventh floor. It was constant banging nailing drilling hammering noises. They opened January 20, 2020 and still have not installed railings on th [... read more]e stairs. We only had one working elevator the other one was not in service our whole stay. We had one day where both elevators were down and we were forced to take the stairs which I was very frightened by got dizzy stuck to the wall and by the time I reached the sixth floor I wanted to puke. It is very dangerous as it is all concrete and a huge opening where anyone could fall all the way down. The pool was freezing cold as it only got an hour of sun a day. Because they had buildings on each side of the pool blocking the sun. Luckily for us we were considered a four-star which allowed us to go to the other three resorts. Our food wasn’t great so we would walk to the other resort where it was a little bit better. There was only one entertainment show a night which would be Mexican music, karaoke, a live band one night and only for an hour to two hours. Our first few mornings we couldn’t get any coffee until the restaurants opened up at 8 AM. We didn’t have a mini fridge or a coffee maker in our room. By the third morning they had coffee in the snack area starting at 6 AM. It was so hard to find a staff member that spoke English Which made it hard to order food, drinks, or ask any questions. The staff were extremely helpful where they could be an extremely Pleasant. We are very glad that we didn’t spend the extra for our three kids to join us. There was nothing to do there for children. This was our first time at an all inclusive resort in Mexico and I am sad to say that we will not be returning. We have been to several all-inclusive resorts before and never ever experienced anything like this.

Decameron Los Cocos Guayabitos Ramada: Minor irritations.

Overall pleasant experience. Food, fairly good, room big, comfortable and clean. Grounds, well maintained. Staff, work hard and friendly. Irritations, we had to buy our own tonic water as the upstairs bar seldom had any. Ridiculous method of reserving a table at the a-la-cart restaurants which required joining a lineup at 7.30 a.m. to get a numbered card to make the reservation at 8.00 a.m. Didn't bother. Grand Decameron Panama: Enjoyable Trip!

Vacationed at the Royal Decameron for two week at the end of January. The resort was very close to the airport which was a plus. The resort had lots of low rise villas that were spread out over the resort. The room was simple and clean. There were lots of stairs and sloped roads between the lower level of the resort and the higher level of the resort. If you have any mobility issues you might have a problem. All the a la cart restaurants were very good and so was the service. The beach was great to walk on. Try to walk early in the morning or later in the day because it is very hot. The pools were good but did not have a lot of shade. We enjoyed the trip to the Canal and Panama City, as well as the Tram trip to the Rain Forest. Both trips we had to travel to Panama City which is about 2 to 2 and half hours depending on the traffic. I would recommend both trips. Overall the trip was good, especially if you like it hot and sunny.

Although this resort is older, it is so clean , with beautiful grounds, hardworking staff, and a great beach. Total relaxation is here! Nightly shows are excellent. The number of repeat guests is amazing - a true testament for this resort.

The resort was satisfactory, The food was good but had to always ask for bacon as that was never offered easily, The resort had this thing about all-inclusive but seemed to make the security box extra and WiFi in your room extra as well unless you where in the all inclusive plus area. The main language was Spanish with most of the workers not understanding English at all, but we where able to get by. The entertainment was also mostly in Spanish but where able to have some of it translated [... read more] during the show. Over all good to great but would have second thoughts about going twice.
