Iberostar Waves Cozumel: Awesome as Usual

We have been coming to this resort for many years and we have never been disappointed- we couldn't get our usual room but one directly behind it which was fabulous as well. Food was great also and the grounds are amazing- another reason why we keep coming back. Absolutely no complaints at all- we will always come back.

Iberostar Selection Cancun: Great vacation

Nice hotel Clean hotel . Room was very clean food was ok beach you could not walk or swim due to coral and rocks Drink selection could be better Great staff very helpful I have been three times I will not be back due to the poor upkeep of hotel . Very dated

Iberostar Selection Esmeralda: Very nice resort. Much better than I expected.

The area was nice as well as the grounds. The buffet restaurant and the a-la-cart were everything you would expect. The two pools were excellent, however new chairs are needed around the pool. The chairs at the beach were much better. The beach itself was excellent . I just can't say enough about the staff. They were always there to help. Food was good for Cuba.

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: So, so resort!

Beach is okay for adults but lots of dirt in the water and choppy. Definitely not for children. Room in Section 3, suoer humid even with AC constantly running. Mold started to develop on bags, visible in bathroom. Also, water dripping on head in the bathroom from high condensation. Pool okay and so is food. Not sure if it was coincidental but lots of people from our group got stomach issues, even a hopsital visit. Service staff is various. Some folks seem being there against there will. Not many [... read more] smiles. Bar servers fine, reception depends who you get. Ground overall clean and maids are doing their best with what they got.

Iberostar Coral Esmeralda: Best beach but not a 5 star resort

We just returned from our 9 day vacation at Coral Esmeralda. I must say this is Defiantly not a 5 star resort as you indicated. We were very disappointed with the description listed in your site and with one staff member there. The good. - Beast beach I have ever been to. White fine sand on beach and in the ocean. No need for water shoes here - Our room was huge and beautiful. We had the roof top suite - Massage at the spa are perfect. Great service and prices. Keylin and Ernesto are amaz [... read more]ing. - Lunch at the beach BBQ and the snack bar where the best meals on the resort. Freshly cooked and cooked to perfection - Waiters, cooks and bartenders are always friendly. Even if you don’t tip The Bad. - On the second day Ariel the butler manager made a racial gesture to my wife 3 times even after telling him the first time it was offensive. This set a negative tone for the rest of our stay and really spoiled our trip - Beach has no washrooms and you have to walk over 3 minutes to get to one - Lack of supplies (that’s all Cuba) - Told there was turn down service when checked in but never happened (had to go change beach towels every day to the non-Coral side) - No VIP Dinner at the resort's best spot as stated when we checked in - A la carte dinners are pre made that always come out warm not hot. Better off at the buffet - No Complimentary hydrotherapy access as stated when we checked in and according to the booking agreement - Butler service was not really there as we have had at other resorts. - House keeping was really bad (shortage of towels every day, room not made a few days until after 5pm) - Shower for the pool and ocean to wash up were mostly broken (non on the beach worked) - Maintenance at this resort are slacking with multiple items not working - Room towels are old, non-absorbent, and smell like feet

Iberostar Waves Rose Hall Beach: Not a 5*

There are 3 resorts side-by-side, each more luxurious, the Beaches being the least expensive. We arrived on a Sunday evening to a lobby that displayed yesteryear luxury. A porter took us to our room, dropped off our bags, got a tip and took off with no information or direction about the room or hallway which we found to be like a maze. There is a large pool with a swim-up bar with several lounge chairs to slow roast in the sun. The sandy beach has a large number of lounge chairs and lots of shade if desired. There is 1 bar and a jerk chicken shack with service provided. The resorts share a well stocked work-out centre and nearby, tennis courts and 8 very nice pickleball courts (though the provided paddles are poor quality). There was no promotion so you are on your own to find playing partners. What little I saw of the entertainment was very good. MOST of the service staff are very good and friendly, happy to please. Overall, the place was kept very clean. The food (yes I am critical, I expect good tasteful food): Breakfast offers many different foods, something for everyone. The fruit bar was not great…frozen fruits, tasteless watermelon and pineapple. There was good kiwi, apples and bananas. There was a good juice selection but getting a glass was sometimes a challenge. Lunch and dinner at the banquet hall offered a good variety. However, the taste was hit and miss. Most were very good, others not so much.. I found the roast port overdone and dry and some fish the same. They had mayo as a tartar sauce!!! So simple to make a tartar sauce. The dessert section was interesting. They listed black forest cake…it was chocolate cake, brownies…it was chocolate cake, chocolate cake…yep, chocolate cake. Some desserts were tasteless, a select few worth eating. However, the salad bar was excellent. Lettuce was fresh & crisp, the variety was terrific. The self-serve juice dispenser sprayed juice all over instead of the glass. Not sure if it was ever fixed. The Japanese restaurant did not serve real Japanese food but the ambiance felt Japanese. The food was fairly good. The Italian restaurant was a disappointment. The salmon was good. I had a penne dish with shrimp. The sauce was like a paste and the shrimp still had the tails on!! Second time, I had chicken with spaghetti. The chicken was fine but the pasta was sticky and the sauce tasted like tomato paste with no spice. The smokehouse served huge meals and the food was very good. The hotel expects everyone to be tech savvy with a smartphone to use their QR code. It is not seniors friendly and they do not use printed material. We asked for a map, one we could download on our computer….no. What nobody noticed was a map of the resort at the end of the service counter! Reading a map on a 5” screen is not going to work for most seniors.Navigating the maze (hallways) is an adventure until you travel the hallways a few (or several) times. The room we had (and others said the same) a bathroom that smelled of sewage. I put my hand on the handrail in an elevator and it fell to the floor. The tv we had in our room was broken but replaced later the next day (and this was all on our first 24 hours). For those that like coffee, be prepared to have it black. No creamers are supplied in the room and the service at the lobby bar early in the morning is non-existent. The person ignores you until he stacks all his liquor bar, then no smile or good morning. You feel you are annoying him. Service is late so sleep in. It was hard to gauge whether everything opened at 6 AM or 7 AM. It seemed nobody really began to function until after 7 AM. Overall, this is a decent 3.5* resort at a 4* price

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Very Nice place

We had a great time at this resort. Rooms were clean and nice, but ac could have been a bit better in our room. Food at this resort, we found to be good. You could always find something good to eat. We went to the Italian and Japanese, restaurants, but they are not that great. We found the buffet to be much better. The people working at this resort were very pleasant, and helpful with everything. Pool was large and nice and never felt crowded. The beach is huge and you can find lots of shade, an [... read more]d thats a huge bonus. You can walk a long way either way on the beach. The water is not clear at all, but was warmer than the pool. Not a place for snorlelling AT all. The shows at night, were a disappointment, we found them HOOKEY at best unfortunatly. All and All we really enjoyed our 10 days there and would ABSOLUTELY return.

Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: Great Resort, Great People, Great Vacation Spot

This is my second time to Varadero and first time at this resort. The staff were amazing, the food was good, the rooms were clean and beach was spectacular. If you are considering a trip to Cuba, I would highly recommend this resort.

Iberostar Selection Varadero: Great Resort and Staff!!!

Just got back from a week at this resort and had a great time. There were no shortages for us on anything, food was good. The staff at this resort are amazing from the front desk to the gardeners. I would like to shout out Eli and Yanelis, servers in the lobby bar. Such great welcoming service and smiles, they really go above and beyond for you. I would definately go back to this resort again and would recommend to anyone.

Iberostar Origin Bella Vista Varadero: Fantastic Vacation

Iberostar Selection Esmeralda: Amazing resort, will be returning

This resort was absolutely amazing. I was so impressed by how well kept and clean it was! The room was absolutely beautiful and surprisingly modern. The food and drinks were great, the staff were all so kind and the beaches were amazing. There was a perfect balance of relaxation and entertainment. The “ Cuba day” was definitely a highlight for us! We will definitely be returning in the future.

Iberostar Coral Esmeralda: Awesome resort

The grounds were very well maintained and the staff were very courteous, food was very good and top shelf drinks the rooms were clean and the adult section was absolutely peasefull which os what we were looking for ,we will definitely be back.

Iberostar Selection Holguin: Great place

Very happy with the overall experience at this resort. Beautiful room, food was adequate despite food shortages in Cuba, beach was excellent and pool was clean and huge. The staff was extremely welcoming. Make sure to bring Canadian bills to exchange their coins because the bank doesn’t accept them. We used $1 tips in USD and brought larger bills to exchange with the locals/staff to help them go to the bank.

This vacation was alot Better the only thing i noticed is that we were returning vacation and didn’t receive any perks they talk about, but hopefully when we return next year it will be different. We were also told about the renavations that were done to one side of The resort so we are hoping next year we will have the chance to experience those. The Food was great you never went hungery and there was a wide variety of selections and the derests were So good and we tried many of them. Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Great Resort!

Just came back from 10 days at the Iberostar Costa Dorada. This is my 4th time at this resort and we always leave happy. It's a small resort which is exactly what we wanted as my boyfriend has issues getting around. The food is good and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. We initially got a room on the 3rd floor and after a few days realized it would be a problem for him. The hotel was extremely accommodating and gracious in getting us into a new room on the main floor. The beac [... read more]h is adequate, but can often be rough given the location. I found the pool a little in need of a good clean this time but otherwise, it was great and we would definitely go again.

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Nothing special

Resort was small with very few servers. All the bars were very busy constantly and almost impossible to get dinner reservations. The food was decent but absolutely no wow factor. The plating was very poorly done not giving it the picture perfect feel. The beach was ridden with garbage and the sand was also packed of it when you look either way from the hotel. It was actually a very rude awakening of how bad it really is.

Iberostar Coral Ensenachos: Paradise

This resort exceeded our expectations, from the rooms, to the beach and Food! The food was incredible! Yes, that's right, I wrote the word incredible. The staff went above and beyond, every day. The entertainment was great and kept visitors engaged. We will DEFINITELY be back.

This resort was 10/10. There was always lots of food. The room was comfortable. The branch was absolutely beautiful. All the staff was super friendly and helpful. Jorge and Wilfred were very kind and helpful. My family and I will be returning

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Exceeded expectations

Surprisingly, after so many bad news in the media about various shortages, this resort had everything. The food was fresh and variated, rooms were very clean and cleaned every day, the bar had what we wanted and no waiting lines, the staff amazing! Cannot think of negatives for this resort, 4 star indeed.
