Grand Oasis Riviera: Amazing view

The view was amazing/ breath taking. Small quiet resort ! Not for young people wanting to party! Make sure you stay at the grand oasis. Met a couple who were way at the back of the resort and not everything was included in their package!!

The grounds were nice, pool was a good size that would work for families or anyone else. The beach, as in all of Varadero, was excellent. Food in the buffet was better than anywhere else we have been in Cuba but that is just OK (except for the Italian A La Carte restaurant which was really good). Be Live Turquesa: Great resort for a quiet Veradero vacation

This was a smaller resort than we've stayed at in the past which meant less selection in terms of food and less nightlife, both of which we were fine with. Rooms were basic but clean, and air conditioner worked fine. Safes cost extra - 2 CUC per day, which is the first time we've seen this. One thing we would have liked to have known in advance is that the only place to change money is at the front desk and it's cash only. We weren't prepared with enough Canadian cash, as all other Cuban resort [... read more]s we've stayed at had a regular bank with the ability to use credit or debit cards to change money. We had to go to a mall 3km down the road to change money.

Grand Oasis Sens: If you are 40 and above with bad knees do. Not go

The beach was beautiful but with bad knees you could not get down without a lot of pain. I did get down once and it was just great, if my knees were good this vacation would have been 30% better. I did tell my travel agent we had bad knees. This resort to me out of the last 12 places we visited in Mexico is number 12.

Grand Oasis Sens: Not very good hotel

Food was poor and room air conditioning did not work. You had to book most of the restaurants a minimum of 48hrs prior to going and the buffet restaurant food was not labelled so you never knew what you were eating. Our room had a water leak near the window that never stopped leaking. This is suppose to be rated 4.5 stars resort, more like 2.5 stars. Grand Oasis Cancun: Nice beach and pools. Try to avoid March break!

On the plus side: beach is wonderful, lots of restaurants (two buffets, steakhouse, Mexican, Chinese). On the minus side: too noisy for us. The 5 buildings are built such you hear a closed door not only from your level but from all the 10 halls inside the building and believe me, there were lots of closed doors because we caught the US March break and there was a lot of screaming in the middle of the night! Paid $30 USD to get internet access. Be aware: inside the resort there are at least 8 travel agents working 8 to 5 from a travel agency Lifestyle…something , who are trying to lure with a tequila welcome package into a travel membership with them. Overall experience: 3.5 -4 stars.

Brisas Del Caribe: if they treated first time guests" half as good"

Starting from beginning....this was my fourth time to Varadero...i have stayed in some less désirable areas and have been more satisfied. OK.... front desk.  Terrible service.  I have never felt more ignored or disrespected when asking for anything here.  We arrived at 10..waited til 4pm for our room and then the just threw the keys on the desk and didn't even tell us what direction it was or where it was.  Getting money changed here was horrible.  They ignored us most times and hoarded o [... read more]ne dollar pesos like they were gold. I personally love to tip.  I ended up tipping with 3 and 5 dollar pesos for at least 3 days because i was dying for good service and ones would not be given to us.  I could complain more about the front desk- but its a waste of time. ROOM...We stayed in main building on second floor.  Our maid was amazing!  Loved Lidia.  She was one of the best maids i have ever had. And kept our room fresh with cute towel art.  Lots of water replaced daily and towels and toilet paper.  Our bathroom door handle fell off and was not fixed.. It was extremely quiet in room 220 because we weren't facing the pool. This room was really convenient and close distance to almost all things at the resort. Beach.- perfect and beautiful.  Its why I go to Varadero.  Watch very closely to the locals walking up and down the beach.  There are tons of drug propositions happening and we were haggled everyday to buy things...and offered to buy drugs at least 5 times in one day.  The security is present there...but allow these people up on the beach To Hassel the guests.  It really upset me.  Also one of the security men tried selling me things - also tried to get us to pay him to take us to Havana. We left the beach and went to the pool most days because no matter how far we moved back on the beach, people were still being allowed to come up and Hassel us to buy things.  I have never had this problem in any of my trips to Varadero..it just really upset me- because this is why i stopped going to Dominican and coming to Cuba....there was actually an instance that a man was swimming in the water, and asked my boyfriend where he was from and that he had weed...cocaine...or whatever he "needed". Food...I'm used to Cuban food and actually enjoy it...i just question the food safe practices there...as most of the stuff is not kept hot and Left to sit.  I dodnt get sick and i ate lots.  Like I said...I'm not picky. Best place to eat is at beach grill ' Caleta Grill.  Much tastier than buffet. Pool bar closes as 6pm..lobby bar at 12. They ran out of alcohol every day...no beer....no vodka....and no sorries...lol there is also a "secret" piano bar on the third floor that serves MUCH better drinks.  Lots of elderly people up there.   Overall...i see a lot of older returning guests....and from what I understand ...unless you are a return repeat guest...you don't get the same treatment or warm réception. I never go to Cuba expecting mighty things...but I guess i was expecting a bit more...in terms of friendliness and didn't get it this time unless i was waving money around.

Grand Oasis Sens: Good time but wouldn't go back

The hotel was nice - rooms and pools were clean. Most of the staff were friendly and the restaurants were for the most part fairly good. Only complaints are that we basically had to beg for water bottles as they never filled up the mini bar in our room. The nightclub was good on the nights there were performances. Otherwise, the place was pretty dead after 11pm.

Brisas Del Caribe: Above Expectations

We were very pleased with our holiday at Brisas Del Caribe. We were in the oldest part of the resort but the rooms were clean, had hot water, AC, hair dryer and were quieter than in the newer areas. There was a small pool away from the main area and we enjoyed the semi-private feeling of this area next to the 24 hour snack bar. The best surprise was the food - the best we have have had in Cuba (this was our third visit to Varadero)

got there bye 11am told room will be ready at 300 pm than told us the restaurants are fully booked for the week.now im not happy. go back at 3 pm now tell us 330 .330 comes now 430 for sure .430 walk in to the room not cleaned at all wet towels on the floor, bed not made, dirty dishes,no water or beer in the fridge.i lost it on the manger 6pm room cleaned.no water or beer til nexted day.the next day the manger booked all4 restaurants for us (fully booked bull!) maybe stop booking with you u sell [... read more] bad resorts

Be Live Experience Hamaca Suites: Disappointing

Weather great. Water calm. Small beach. Hotel run down. Mold on bathroom ceilings, leaky taps & toilets on resort. Little storage, 4 hangers. Poor service. Faulty keys .Beach far & 45 stairs each way!

Grand Oasis Sens: Average Resort

Older high end building - lots of marble. Partially refurbished, plumbing is old, stairs lack handrails. Resort was full, long lineups for coffee, for meals, for meal reservations. Pool chairs claimed early each day, people leave, chairs sit empty. Food is only ok - mostly bland.

Grand Oasis Sens: Find another hotel!

The ONLY reason for 2 stars is the Mexican and Italian restaurant had good food and the hotel grounds are well laid out and very attractive. Also the beach and pool are great- no drink service though- you have to go to the bar to get your own drinks. Those are the only saving graces for this hotel! Service was HORRIBLE! The rooms didn't have blankets ( we literally had to call 3 times) and they charge for Wifi (it's 2016- if you consider yourself a 5 star then wifi should be complimentary). I will not be going back and I suggest anyone looking to stay at a 5 star in Cancun do the same. No one tried to make our experience better after we went to customer service and they were apathetic at best.

Grand Oasis Cancun: Great stay!

Our experience staying in the Pyramid was wonderful. The room was clean and the staff throughout the resort were accommodating. The variety of eating establishments provided us with good choices for all meals.

Brisas Del Caribe: Not bad, bit noisy.

It was very noisy in the foyer area...difficult to have a conversation especially in the evening when there were many people around. The first room I was in was on the ground floor and was mouldy (smell), but I was able to change the room the next day to another room on the 3rd floor. This one stunk of cigarettes, but at least I could open the door without worry of any intruders entering and air the room out. The beds were hard, and the pillows old and flat, but I did get used to them by the end [... read more] of the week. The bathroom was clean and so were the towels and sheets. The food was ok, and there was no shortage at all. One doesn't go to Cuba for the food, and I was fine with what was served. The staff were mostly quite friendly, especially after you tipped them, which I did sometimes. The drinks were good. I only watched two shows, one of which was disappointing and the other was very good. There was a regular band that came around in the evening to serenade us which I enjoyed and bought their music. Staff at the front desk were for the most part good, but one or two were a bit jaded (and what I mean by that is that they appeared tired of responding to the questions from the guests). The Air transat rep was good. Would I recommend? Yes, and I would also give some warnings too.

Be Live Experience Hamaca Suites: Fantastic Resort

Our room was 315 in main building and looked straight onto the ocean, it was just lovely...It was quite a large room with king size bed, two comfy chairs and a small coffee table...The balcony was huge with two wooden chairs and a small table...There was a large walk in closet and bathroom with tub and shower... The beach was just beautiful, and water crystal clear...The food and drinks were plentiful and very good !!!

Grand Oasis Palm: So so Bad Experience.unclean resort.unhelthy food

Me and my family never forget this resort.standard resort We travelled to Mexico on Feb 3th to the Grand Oasis Palm...Don't stay here unless you want to get sick My family of 7stayed at the Grand Oasis Palm in Feb2016 Within 3 days 3 members became violently ill with vomiting and diarrhea and 2 more members became sick in 5th days of our trip. The lab tests showed salmonella poisoning. When reading the reviews of this hotel, we read that many people have gotten sick here. There is no responsible [... read more] manager in this resort . Resort's staff never used gloves and hair cover . When we got sick in resort I asked and I knew that almost 75% of people in resort were sick but unfortunately nobody complained. I went to talk to the manager and I complained to him about unclean and unhealthy foods but he told me the problem was because of the weather. The answer was so ridiculous and S T U P........ If this resort was in Canada for sure I would of sue to Grand oasis Palm We will not return.

Grand Oasis Sens: DIRTY RESORT

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 [... read more]WERE VIOLENTLY ILL., AND THEY DID NOT EVEN HAVE GINGER ALE FOR US, BUT SAID THAT I COULD GRAB A TAXI TO THE STORE.

Brisas Del Caribe: Would never go back

Our stay at the resort was ok. The room at the south part was so updated and very filthy. Stained bed sheets were never changed during our 7 day stay. No hand towels. One piece of ceiling in the bathroom fell down on my head. No apologies from receptionist after my complain. We liked the beach and the night shows.

Brisas Del Caribe: Not a bad Stay at the Brisas Del Caribe

We Stayed at the Brisas Del Caribe, from Jan 27th to F2b 6th. the overall stay at the brisas was good.. Food was so so.. lots of the time it was cold but other wise good, you could usually find something to eat. The hotel has two sections the North and South, The North section is the main building and is closest to the beach, lots of entertainment at night so if you want a quiet early night, stay in the South Section. Both sections have undergone renovations and they are still being renovated o [... read more]n. We Stayed in the north section on the 4th floor Room 415. Its was a nice room with a view of the Pool and you could see the Ocean.. Only real complaint about the room was the lack of hot water. It was usually luke warm to warm.. Staff at the resort were nice and friendly. For 5 cuc you can take the double decker bus into varadero and ride all day on the one price. Good places to eat in varadero are Lili's its a Chinese restaurant and the food is very good, its located across from the Main Flea market around 22nd st. Also Casa de Miel has great fish and pizza... its located a few blocks west of Lili's.
