Secrets Playa Mujeres: Fantastic Resort

Secrets is a Beautiful Resort close to beach. Great restaurants. Staff is excellent. For golfers the Greg Norman designed course is in spectacular condition with Beautiful ocean views. Spent 7 nights and never felt we needed to leave the resort.

Secrets Royal Beach: Nice resort.

We felt as though the resort was very clean, and well kept. We also thought that the food was exceptionally good. We did not like how much of our time was taken up saying "no thanks" to all of the hotel staff trying to sell us excursions, upgrades, time shares, etc. We were very turned off by this. As Canadians we try to be as polite as possible, which was a downside for us. We would have been far better off just being firm and saying "not interested" as soon as they started talking to us.

Secrets Aura Cozumel: Perfect location for resort. Loved our ocean-view room; which was actually close to the ocean!

The grounds, public areas and rooms were adequately well kept. Loved the fact that reservations for dining were not necessary so we didn't have to feel pressured to be on time anywhere while on vacation. Food was good but would have liked to have more Mexican cuisine, as we love to experience the food of the country we're visiting. Nightly entertainment was a disappointment unfortunately. While we were allowed to attend the shows and activities at the sister hotel, we expected to have nightly en [... read more]tertainment of a better quality at our hotel. While the entertainment crew tried their best I'm sure, it seems that more experience/knowledge in the field is required. As guests, we wanted to be entertained; not to be relied on to be the entertainers. Guest participation should be post formal entertainment, which should ideally be featuring the culture of the country.

Secrets Wild Orchid: Great experience

My wife and I loved the resort we had a wonderful time and everyone was really helpful at the resort. The food was great and drinks of course were awesome. The one thing we really liked is how close everything was we didn't have to do a ton of walking to get to any restaurant or bars.i highly reccomend this resort to anyone who is planning on going to Jamaica. Secrets Maroma Beach Riviera Cancun: Beautiful ! Friendly staff.We stayed 2 weeks.

Swim up was amazing! Only negative re beach was seaweed but the beach is continually cleaned and it didn’t prevent walking but swimming a few days was out. Service was great including beach area— staff go the extra mile. Rooms are excellent with a huge bathroom.Making up of the rooms was an issue most days as by the time it was made up it was almost time for turn down service.Loved the “secret box” in the room — want privacy— room service is delivered to this box .A great idea!! B [... read more]eware —- there are sales people waiting to pounce as soon as you arrive!! Not time share but want you to invest in future Secrets( and affiliates) holidays. Wine choices are very limited. Only 2 each of either Chilean white or red.The for purchase wines are ridiculously pricey .The next time we go I will purchase wine before going to the resort.There is a great cafe ! I had a massage which was fantastic!! Ask for Harvey. Do not get your nails done at the spa— not a good experience for me. There are some great day trips offered if you want to venture out.we were there to just relax and enjoy the resort but did go to Playa del Carmen one day to pick up some souvenirs.We stopped at a jewelry store on the way and yes,I purchased! This place is enormous and has some great pieces— be prepared to negotiate. I have pointed out a few negatives but we would go back so the positives definitely outweigh the negatives. Forgot to mention the resident critters “ coati” or commonly named “ Mexican raccoon”.They are very entertaining! Friendly so don’t worry.

Secrets Huatulco: Wonderful all inclusive holiday!

Upon arrival my room was ready. The showers at this resort are outstanding with large rainshower heads. Beds were comfortable and rooms were modern and very clean. Exceptional ocean views throughout the hotel. The pools were clean and everything appeared to be maintained. Staff were friendly and smiling. The french restaurant was exceptional and we went there twice. The japanese restaurant (Spice) was amazing. One guy from our party caught a mahi mahi and the japanese restaurant cooked it [... read more] three different ways to allow us to have a group dinner featuring our 'catch of the day'. We enjoyed every day at the pool and only ventured to the beach the first day and early in the morning before the sand was too hot to walk on. The bay was rough most days with a red flag out. There is a small portion where it is protected from the rocks and snorkelers were often there. The bars offered an abundance of drinks and the Barefoot grill offered great lunch options. There are no complaints about this resort of the staff and I would recommend this resort wholeheartedly.

Secrets Cap Cana: Fantastic Spot!!

Super clean and ultra chic hotel. The 24/7 room service which you can order via your in room tablet was awesome. In-room they have a convenient butler's door as well in which you do not even need to open your door to get your room service. The food was great at all restaurants although the service was pretty slow from time to time. Overall very clean resort, rooms very super luxury. We would go again!

Secrets Huatulco: Interesting resort

This was our first time in Huatulco and our first time at a Secrets resort. It was recommended to us as an amazing resort. In fact, we spoke to many people at the resort who were repeat guests, some even as many as 6 times. While the resort is quite beautiful in many ways, we were somewhat disappointed in several areas. The room was clean and spacious. The food, while not the vast variety of choices we have experienced at other resorts, was always very tasty. It was some of the best tasting food we have had at a resort. There were lots of umbrellas and chairs around the pool and the grass covered shade structures and chairs on the beach were plentiful. The grounds are well maintained by a cheerful group of gardeners. However, there were a few things that affected our enjoyment of the week completely. First, there are visible signs, from the lobby through to our room, of neglect or shoddy repairs. The lobby is underwhelming and the fountain at the entrance isn't operating. The pools are in need of refurbishing, there is mold under the swim-up bar, and the waterfall between levels is just a series of pools. The elevator in our building (3) was hot and dirty. The stairwell next to the elevator was dark. The motion sensor lights only come on when you reach the top of the stairs. In our room, the sliding wall between the bed and the jacuzzi tub is warped and the mirror is water damaged. Pretty sure someone is having second thoughts about that idea. And the stairs between the two pool levels are downright dangerous! Finally, Castaways restaurant was our worst food experience of the week. Breakfast was extremely slow and supper was slow and the only meal I did not enjoy. I had the steak and shrimp skewers and could only eat the shrimp. I asked for not potatoes and so I got 2 skewers and that's it. Not even a few limp vegetables. The cooks in the Market Grill sure don't work up at Castaways. Also, this was the only time the service was so poor that we actually got angry. Will we go back? To be fair, we don't tend to repeat visit as there are so many places we have yet to go, however, considering the extra money we paid for this resort package, we will definitely not be returning.

Secrets Akumal Riviera Maya: Secrets Akumal Paradise!

This is our second visit to Secrets Akumal, as we went for a week in November 2018, and then a 10 day trip in March 2019. Both booked with Jenn Black at Trip Central. This adults only all-inclusive resort has everything we want in a vacation destination, situated in a ‘jungle’ of palm trees and other foliage. There are wide walkways in amongst all of this fauna which connect all of the buildings to the eating areas, the pools, the beach, and various other places. Any of the staff we interacted with appeared genuinely happy to be doing what they were doing, and our housekeeper, Sebastian, was so friendly and full of smiles. Our room was so bright and airy, and immaculately cleaned every day, with the fridge restocked. We enjoyed a few days of room service for breakfast, which we took on the balcony, as the birds chirped and the breeze was blowing through the palm trees. We loved when they would set up for an outdoor buffet, of which were the Mexican and Italian buffets. They set everything up to the nines with fresh linens and decor. Three pools to choose from and a large beach area. The beach can get noisy as many tourists from other areas come to swim and snorkel off of the beach to see the turtles. Many tour groups as well. The resort staff have a good process in place to keep non-Secrets visitors out of the Secrets beach area and loungers. Fantastic resort, and worth the hour and a half drive from the airport. Will definitely be returning.

Secrets Akumal Riviera Maya: Fantastic resort

This hotel is wonderful. There is a wide variety of restaurants which allowed us to try a different restaurant every day of our stay. The food was always delicious and they clearly care a great deal about making sure everything is both tasty and well-presented. They don't have a lot of vegetarian options, but they're clearly working on it and have more than other places we've been. The pools are great too - they have a couple of pools with more noise and activities, but they also have a beauti [... read more]ful one that's the designated quiet pool for peaceful lounging. The poolside drink service is top notch. They don't provide straws due to the local sea turtle population, so we brought our own reusable metal ones which worked great. Speaking of sea turtles, we saw four of them snorkeling off the beach, so they're definitely around. The location allows for day trips to Mayan sites, including Tulum and Chichen Itza, which are worth visiting. Overall, we had an incredible time.

Secrets The Vine Cancun: Beautiful but needs more...

This hotel was beautiful, well kept and the beach is outstanding. I really don’t have anything bad to say as a vacation is what you make of it but it would have been nice to have some dancing and a little more to offer in the evenings. By 10 pm the place was dead and there was really nothing to do. But all in all it was a fabulous resort and I would recommend it!

Secrets Puerto Los Cabos Golf & Spa Resort: Wonderful resort!

This is a beautiful resort. We like Secrets resorts generally, but this one was particularly good. The service was friendly everywhere, the rooms were clean, and the food was excellent. The beach is nice even though you can’t swim in the ocean. We would definitely return to this resort.

Hyatt Zilara Riviera Maya: Fabulous!

We recently returned from a one week stay at Secrets Capri. Everything about this resort was just wonderful. The resort is a bit smaller but I think that allows the staff to add a personal touch to the guests. The room was large and exactly as shown on the web site. The food was terrific and each restaurant knew when my husband had specific food allergies without us even mentioning it. The beach is nice and we went for long walks to enjoy the weather and view. We spent a lot of time by the p [... read more]ool and were impressed with the daily entertainment. On most days they had something different but it was tasteful and very fitting for the resort and its guests. The evening shows were also really impressive. They hire professional entertainment and most of it was great. We especially liked the Queen tribute and casino night was a blast! The best part of our experience was the staff. They are all outstanding and hard working. We were very impressed by their professionalism and attitude. If you’re looking for a huge party resort, where they blast loud music all day, this is not the place for you. But if you are looking for a chic, and elegant experience then I highly recommend it. I would certainly return to this resort.

Secrets Maroma Beach Riviera Cancun: A Wonderful Resort

We stayed for one week in Late March. We absolutely loved and enjoyed the week. The staff was the highlight, in my opinion, courteous, accommodating and kind. The best service ever! The rooms were spacious and the king size bed was very comfortable. The entire property was spotless! The food: Although a matter of taste, we did not enjoy at any of the restaurants. The meat was tough and everything else was tasteless. The buffet However, was delicious with a decent variety of dishes. The service in all restaurants was exceptional. The nightly shows, except the Mexican show, we’re not enjoyable to us, but everyone seemed to have fun. We loved the grounds, the beach and the pool area, but the music filtered throughout the pool area was unnecessary. The only quiet area was the beach. Overall, we loved our stay and would highly recommend this property to our friends.

Secrets Huatulco: Amazing Resort

The whole resort was spotless, the staff were super friendly, the food was fabulous. We would definitely go back again. The views were spectacular, especially from castaways restaurant where we could often see whales jumping out in the ocean. There was also great snorkeling right in the bay.

Secrets Puerto Los Cabos Golf & Spa Resort: Nice place

The hotel was nice, clean and had a beautiful view. We decided to pay extra and get the preferred club amenities. Most days we stayed by the preferred pool and enjoyed the view of the ocean, spotted some whales and watched some golfing. It was a good thing we did because the other pool was loud with blaring music and was very busy which is not what we wanted. The service was good overall, but they needed another wait staff at the preferred pool. It took a really long time to get drinks. The [... read more] yoga was excellent, and it was lovely to have a class at 8am and 9am. The weather was also fantastic. There was no humidity and it was clear and beautifully sunny when we were there the 2nd last week of March. The food was good, but they needed one more restaurant to have good variety. Usually Secrets has a French restaurant, but Secrets Puerto Los Cabos does not. Overall, it was a great vacation if you don't mind not swimming in the ocean (it was too rough).

The Secrets Resort in Los Cabos is a prime example of how a vacation resort should be operated. All the staff and employees were of great service, and they went above the mark to keep their clientele happy with offering service with a smile at every level during our stay there.

Secrets Akumal Riviera Maya: Beautiful Resort

Secrets Akumal is a beautiful resort located in Tulum - Riviera Maya. Please note anybody interested, this is almost 1.5 hour away from Cancun Airport. Kindly, factor that in based on your flight schedule. We were at the resort last week for an early anniversary trip and had a great time. It feels like you are in a rainforest with lush green surroundings and birds chirping everywhere. Occasionally, we even spotted Iguana (Huge Garden Lizard). We really enjoyed dining at Market Cafe for breakfast and lunch. For dinner we preferred Portofino and Himitsu (they have enough choices for Vegan/Vegetarian/Seafood). Beach is beautiful with white sand and clear water - al lot of seaweed that cleaners are constantly clearing out. It's a great place if you enjoy snorkelling and other water sports. There is one point I would like to highlight - the beach is not as private as one would expect. In Mexico beaches are public and hence, you will see people from other resorts sitting right in front of you on the beach - really wish the resort staff can set some boundaries. For this reason alone, I would not want to return to this resort. Overall I give it 4.5 star rating (would be a full 5 star if the beach was even partly private)

Secrets Aura Cozumel: Very Tired Resort

Overall, my experience was positive however it is not up to the Secrets brand. My husband and I were happy with our room although others in our party we’re justifiably not (rooms not what they reserved). The food was very good in the restaurants and the Sky bar a lot of fun with beautiful views. There was an obvious lack of staff in all areas but those working were working very hard to keep up. Entertainment team top notch. Pool cleanliness was a real issue. We never saw anyone skimming the Ma [... read more]natee Bar pool and it’s condition deteriorated during the week. The day after the foam party the pool was never cleaned broken balloons, lime wedges, glasses etc. were still on the deck. On our last day the pool water was covered with scum, leaves, twigs and cigarette butts. It was so bad we asked for a skimmer to clean it ourselves. About an hour later a staff member arrived and we assisted him in getting the junk out so we could enjoy our pool time. Beach was lovely and you cannot beat the views. Hopefully, Secrets should puts some money in this property and gets its up to the same standard as other Secrets properties. Until that happens we will not return or recommend.

Secrets Akumal Riviera Maya: Paradise

The Secrets Akumal was absolute paradise. We visited in mid March. The resort has incredible service, with a very dedicated and friendly staff. The rooms are extremely clean and beautifully decorated. The grounds are gorgeous, with very lush trees and plants throughout. There are three pools which are all very well maintained. The beach is gorgeous, and the staff keeps it clear of seaweed. There is snorkel gear available all day, and if you go early in the morning you can watch the turtles feed  [... read more]without swimming very far. The restaurants were all wonderful and the bars had a great selection of drinks. The coffee shop is lovely and has snacks available all day. The resort has a lot of activities, including a snorkel tour, kayak tour, paddle board tour, and a bike tour through Akumal which is about two hours and very worth doing! There are many fitness classes throughout the day including CrossFit, yoga, spin in the pool, and many others. I would go back again tomorrow if I could!
