Sunscape Puerto Plata: Sunscape Puerto Plata

All around everything was great.....friendly staff, exceptional service, clean rooms, clean grounds, two very nice pools, easy access to clean beach, lots of very good restaurants, both buffet style and à la carte, all kinds of drinks were available at all times, great entertainment every night, a golf course across the way and tennis courts on site.

Sunscape Puerto Plata: Terrible experience and food

The grounds are nice but that's about it. The staff make you feel like a nuisance, the food is terrible and there aren't any pool towels. We were told to come back at a later time and even when we came back, they still didn't have towels.

Sunscape Puerto Plata: Amazing Resort

We had the most awesome time! Rooms were amazing! Very clean and all the equipment's were working. The personnel in the Hotel, restaurant, bar , entertainment , housekeeping to even the photo shop were incredibly friendly and helpful. We loved everything!

Sunscape Puerto Plata: Great vacation

I just returned from a week at Sunscape Puerto Plata so I will write this while it is fresh in my mind. This is one of the cleanest resorts I've ever been to. The rooms, ground, restaurants and common areas are immaculate and the service was fantastic. Food at the buffet was good and always replenished quickly. The a la cartes could be quite a long line up so go early and enjoy a drink on the roof deck while you wait. The pizza shop is there as well if you need a snack to hold you over. I trie [... read more]d the four a la cartes and really enjoyed the Asian and Argentinian. The Italian and Caribbean were just okay. The snack bar by the pool was great for a quick bite and if you ask the chef he will make chicken wings fresh for you. (You can borrow some hot sauce from the bartender) My one disappointment with the food was the fish. Usually there is fresh fish you can get cooked to order at most resorts but they didn't have this, there was breaded fish and fish in sauces on the buffet which was good. Being from Nova Scotia I am fussy about fish being fresh. The beach was large and clean but beach loungers were hard to find on the weekend. I love the trees shading the beach so you could get out of the hot sun. I'm not a pool person so I didn't use them, but they looked nice. There is a large pool with a swim up bar and a smaller pool with a volleyball net and a kiddy pool. We stayed in building 7 which is one of the furthest from the lobby so it was lovely and quiet at night and still only a five minute walk to the lobby. The resort is only a short ride from the airport 20 minutes or so and is close to excursions. My only complaint is that I found the bed quite hard and it bothered my back. Not a big deal. I would recommend this resort and would stay there again. It's reasonably priced with a great staff and very clean.

Sunscape Puerto Plata: Nice resort

Very nice hotel the food could be a lot better and service is ok but need more training for the buffet and the steak house and the Italian restaurant . Almost every day never had a replacement Dry towel and always get ask about the spas and the famous free breakfast . The first night we wait 2 hours to get the replacement room because the air conditioning was not working !!!

Sunscape Puerto Plata: More than I expected

The hotel was very clean. Staff was very friendly. Always good choices of food. My family can be picky eaters and we found something at every meal that we enjoyed. Great beach, with the opportunity to have a good walk if you enjoy running or walking on beaches. The view was incredible. A good trade wind, so you don't feel the intense heat. I would recommend this resort.

Sunscape Curacao Resort: Curacao Feb 2019

We were a little worried about going to the Sunscape from the reviews but we actually enjoyed our stay there beach and pool were good, food was ok some days better then others we did not starve!!!! Rooms are dated but we don't go for the room as we are on the beach all day and out and about at night. My grand daughter loved it we were so close to pool and ocean that she could go to either. My husband and I both had massages the were wonderful Nelly and Elisbeth we amazing would definitely would recommend getting a massage. We paid 1900.00 and would not pay anymore than that. Sunscape Curacao Resort: Nice Resort

Suncscape Curacao was a nice resort with pleasant staff who always responded with, 'it a pleasure'. Food was good and plentiful, not an extreme high end gourmet, so if you starve you deserve too! Property including beach was clean and well maintained. Entertainment staff were great, providing day time and evening activities for all. The buildings and rooms were dated, but very spacious. A good paint job inside the rooms and hallways as well as a shower/tub area upgrade would go a long way [... read more]...then I would definitely consider returning.

Sunscape Curacao Resort: Ok resort.

So this resort is beautiful. Our room was not at all what we were expecting a little disappointing the garden view was terrible and the balcony you could not sit out on. This was a deal of the day room would not recommend. No coffee maker. And a couple days our room was not cleaned by 4:30. The service is slow 2 to 2 and a half hours for supper. Price was quite high for what we got.

Sunscape Puerto Plata: Great relaxing resort

Our group of four enjoyed our stay at Sunscape very much. The staff were so friendly and courteous, especially the bar staff, not once did they not have a smile. We liked not having to make reservations for the ala cart restaurants, there is a perfect place to have a drink in the lovely DR breeze and grab a great slice of thin crust pizza while we waited for our buzzer to let us know our table was ready. Rooms were basic, but clean with nice white linens and towels. One down for me, was the amount of smokers all over the resort, it did have no smoking places, but it seemed to flow all around, but I'm sensitive to smoke, smokers would be happy! Nice entry to the pool on the one side with gradual slope, and deeper on the other side. Beautiful beach, that was so nice to walk for miles, water entry very sandy, easy to get in and out. We enjoyed the nightly troupe of entertainers, that worked their hearts out with a 30- 45 minute show to watch after our dinner. All and all we had a very nice vacation.

Sunscape Dorado Pacifico: would never stay here again

this was our first trip as a family and my 2 year old got very sick. He was sick for the entire trip. then my 4 year old got sick as well. on top of that our room was next to a disco that played very loud music u till 4am. I almost lost my mind on the 3rd day. it seemed like no one cared and they werent eager to help. we had also run into a handful of people whom also had gotten sick. The rooms are also crawling with ants. i would not recomend this hotel at all.

Sunscape Puerto Vallarta: Not up to Sunscape standards

The hotel is nicely located, renovations have made an improvement to bringing this hotel up to Sunscape standards but not there yet. Our experience was troublesome right from the Sun Club checkin. They did not have our room selection available!? They did give us a nice room, however we had to move the next morning, before 11:00am!? It is now 8:20pm and we are just heading to our room! Check in was about 90min!? Next morning...We asked if we were to pack up and they would move our luggag [... read more]e to the new room, when available? We were told no they could not!? We were not offered any solution for storing our luggage, until our room would be available at 3:00!? This is the second day of our holiday and we are basically held captive at the resort as we are detained there because we have no place to put our luggage! We spent another hour of our “holiday time”,discussing this unreasonable request before they agreed to move our luggage to our new room, once they had it ready! Which was what we requested. By this point we are stressed out 🥺 WiFi is only available in the lounge area and not always a strong enough signal, at that. The SunClub food was deserts and sandwiches. Not once in 9 days was there anything else. No vegetables or other food!? Premium alcohol was almost non existent! They didn’t even supply kahlua, it was something else, in a none labeled bottle!? I saw a bottle with maybe 3 oz in it, of Grand Mariner the night we checked in and it was never available or seen again, for the remaining 8 days of our stay, for example. I should have seized the moment! They rest of the trip went about the same. Even in the Sun Club area, we had to ask for loungers, after an entire scanning of the resort, daily there were not enough. The plastic glasses at the bars were washed without a dishwasher. There was never any cutlery at the Grill, to eat with!? Which is probably okay if you want to eat guacamole and salsa, for example, with fingers only😳 Every day there was something not quite up to advertised resort amenities!? The entertainment is lacking also. The quality is fine, there is not much of a selection though. The gym is very small but there is some outdoor space available. Towels, mini bar(I only drank the water) not replaced when room was cleaned, daily. We did tip for every service, every day! JS I could continue with the administrative defects but I’m sure you get the just of my review and how our holiday was. Keeping in mind that Mexico is a different country and service is different there than perhaps Canada and the USA, however the simple basic services and amenities are not where they should be, in my opinion. We have travelled to both the Atlantic and Pacific coasts of Mexico, 19 times now, always staying in 4star hotel chains, all inclusive resorts, as well as previously at another Sunscape, and it is my opinion that the management/administration needs work to bring this resort up to its advertised claims. With that said we were very happy with the food, the staff was all ways Mexico 5star; happy, polite and very accommodating. The rooms and common areas were always very clean. The beds were comfortable and we did get to try out 2 different ones 😆

Sunscape Curacao Resort: Outstanding resort

This resort is marvelous. The food was great, especially in the specialty restaurants. The staff were very accommodating and very friendly. For those who are snorkelers the break wall has an abundance of sea life and it is not very far off shore. The waters are calm and good for swimming. In some places it is hard to enter the water, but one needs to walk about 100 feet and enter in the sand. Great resort our 5th time here.

Sunscape Curacao Resort: Fun for Everyone

Wayne and I were not sure about a resort that was not adult only but this resort is set up so well we really did not find it interfered with our activities at all. The food was well cooked and the choices though repetitious from day to day had enough variety to ensure we were satisfied. We ate in the main area which served breakfast, lunch and dinner for most meals. Wayne had lunch at the beach bar once and enjoyed his burger. The Italian restaurant was a nice change from the buffet and the portions were just right and hot as sometimes at the buffet your choices cool down before you return to your table. The only thing that may turn some people off in the main eating area would be the birds that fly in and out of the area and at times land on the food platters. Wayne and I especially enjoyed the snorkelling on the beach. Even though it is always very windy, the breakwall in the water stops the waves from reaching the swim area but still allows many varieties of fish to inhabit this section of sea. We were able to snorkel every day, not having to worry about rough water or jellyfish!

Sunscape Dorado Pacifico: Great vacation!

The SDP never disappoints! This was our second time a this resort and we love it. The service was excellent, the rooms were clean and the pool was very nice. The food was plentiful and we could always find something that we liked to eat. The snack truck was one of our favorites places to grab a quick bite. If I had to recommend anything, I would suggest that you try and book a room that directly facing the ocean or just off to the side. I would also recommend for couples to book a king  [... read more]bed as they are more comfortable than two double beds. Ixtapa has a lot of places to eat outside of the resort but I would recommend going into Zihuatanejo as the food is slightly cheaper and fresher. We ate at a place called Daniels and it was fantastic but don't get me wrong, great places in Ixtapa as well. Overall, we will continue to come back to this lovely part of Mexico!

Sunscape Curacao Resort: Great resort

Yes this resort is older, however the rooms are clean, there’s hot water for showers, options for meals, fantastic beach. The staff is super friendly. The resort is about a 10 minute cab ride to Will instead, where there’s plenty of shopping, restaurants and bars, and the floating market.

Sunscape Dorado Pacifico: Wonderful resort

WE just returned from a 11 night stay at the wonderful Sunscape Dorado Pacifico in Ixtapa. The resort was great. Rooms were comfortable, food was great and the staff were excellent. The beach was great and the pool and swim up bar was great. There was enough of a variety of food to chose from. The only problem we had was in the bar inside the hotel. The poor bartender had to call the entertainment director to change the channel on the TV. For some strange reason, he wouldn’t let it stay  [... read more]in the bar area.

Sunscape Puerto Plata: Nice resort

The rooms are very spacious, clean,& beds comfortable. The resort staff were friendly and hard working, and eager to please. Food was plentiful and decent something for everyone! Beach is beautiful. However the resort need to get more lounge chairs for beach as well as more beach towels! The resort is quite large so there is a lot of walking if in the far complex ! Our vacation was great, really have no complaints!

Sunscape Dorado Pacifico: Love the Sunscape

This is our 5th time in Ixtapa and our second time at the Sunscape Dorado Pacifico. It does not disappoint. The food is excellent, service fantastic and the location is ideal. We see ourselves coming back again and again.
