Viva Tangerine by Wyndham: Great Stay!

The overall hotel was well kept , other than the terrible water pressure in our hotel room. Rooms were clean , maids came everyday to clean. The entertainment every night never disappointed.Going on the beach was annoying do to the vendors. Food was alright , a different country or theme every night and lots of variety. All the staff was very nice.

Viva V Samana by Wyndham: Love this place - even better 2nd time around!

The grounds are beautiful - rooms modern and clean - beach beautiful. Food is quite good - you can always find something delicious. We have gone two years in a row and it is HUMID. Expect to sweat. Love that there is no towel card, and you can always exchange for a fresh one. The vibe rooms are worth it.

Viva Heavens by Wyndham: Good for the Price!

The best aspect of this hotel were the people for sure. Everyone is always available to help you out in any way you need. Other things to highlight include, the food quality with a la carte restaurants that do not require a reservations, the common areas were always clean and well maintained. The only thing I was disappointed with was that the ac was not turned on when we arrived so the humidity in the room was pretty high; which made the beds feels wet that night. Viva Heavens by Wyndham: Good for the price

Good food. Excellent staff. The entertainment team is amazing. The room was clean. (Even if they don't change our bed in 7 days). Some room have humidity and small bad. The spa time was wonderful. Bad: in the reception they offer you a free day pass in other club. We lost the time. It was a lie. The city is fool the garbage. It's too bad.

From arrival to leaving, I found the service was excellent. The entertainment crew worked from morning to night to ensure a good time was had by all. Lots to do on and off resort. Great value for your money. Would definitely recommend.

Viva Maya by Wyndham: Good experience for the money you pay

Hotel was always clean, facilities were always available, never knew about the wind sailing as it was also included in all inclusive package which made our day at the beach really memorable, excursions offered were decently priced and well worth in trip.

Viva Azteca by Wyndham: Small, peaceful, quite

This is our 2nd visit of this resort. We returned here because we really like the environment inside the resort. It's small, cute, modern and authentic. It has one of the best beaches in Playa de Carmen. 15 minutes walk to Playa de Carmen from the hotel. The food is good, but nothing extraordinary. Rooms are standard - clean and nice. This resort was great. Food was decent. Clean resort, service and staff was great. No big line up at the bar. There is a excellent restaurant at the resort thats not included in the all inclusive but is worth going to. Will go back again.

Viva V Samana by Wyndham: Amazing resort

Staff, food, grounds, pool, beach, rooms. Everything was awesome and clean and well taken care of. Great activities in the day time, also close to towns and excursions. 25 mins from airport! Such a nice resort

Viva Dominicus Palace by Wyndham: Hassled

The resort was ok. More like a 3 out of 5. The food was better in the non VIP section but not that great. Everyday we were harassed every single day to attend information to buy into the hotel's direct purchase program---constantly harassed. While in the pool, ocean, eating---eveverywhere. I would not recommend. Not recommend!

Viva Dominicus Palace by Wyndham: Great vacation

The hotel has a lot to offer. Awesome beach area. Ocean view room that we upgraded to needed an update badly as opposed to 4 years being at the same resort, but a garden view room. Buffet appeared to has less variety, but the food was great

It was à nice and quiet hôtel. The room was comfortable but unfurtunatly had a bad humidity smell. The food was fine but nothing spectacular. The beach was the best feature. Always chairs available. Lots of shade. Safety can be an issue but the hotel mad sure there was security gards all the time

First impression is nice. The resort is small and easy to walk around. The grounds are well kept. The rooms are small but modern and clean. Mosquito nets are not available in all rooms. The food is good but there are less choices than other resorts are offering. The swimming pool is beautiful but it could use more sun umbrellas. Safety is compromised when raining, as the pavement becomes very slippery when wet. Sloped beach with strong waves. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. We real [... read more]ly enjoyed the evening concerts. During our stay there were a lot of mosquitoes and sand flies that have given us a lot of bites and restless nights. It would be nice and fair to provide some warning for the tourists when they arrive so that the ones who are sensitive can protect themselves better.

Viva Tangerine by Wyndham: Great resort

The resort was located in a convenient location. Staff were very friendly and beach was awesome. Very safe area, my family and I walked into town a couple times and lots to see on the beach. Each day you were given 2 bottles of water but there was no station that you could refill them. Since there was 4 in our room it would have been nice to have 4 bottles each day. They must have been having some trouble because they were pumping waste water onto the lawns for the entire two weeks we were ther [... read more]e and the smell was disgusting. Having said all this we would definitely go back to Viva Wyndham Tangerine. The price was good and the people were so kind.

Viva V Samana by Wyndham: Nice small resort

My friends and I stayed a week at this resort. It is very small and no matter where you are you do not have more than a walk of a couple of minutes. The rooms are clean with nice showers however the pillows are awful and then beds are hard. The pool area is beautiful but small. They do have beds and igloos along with lounge chairs and a couple of umbrellas. If you want a bed or igloo you must get up at 6:30 to lay claim. Otherwise enjoy the scorching hot sun all day. It is the same situation dow [... read more]n at the beach. Towels are not an issue and you can take as many as you like. The drinks are great - not watered down and many options. Food is fine. The buffet has decent choices for breakfast and lunch but it does not change much day to day. The coffee is awful. Service is good but you cannot get your own drinks and often you wait half your meal until you get a drink - even just water. There are 3 restaurants - Mediterranean, fusion and seafood. We did not like the seafood one except for the dessert. You do not need a reservation and can go as many times as you like. The food is much better than the buffet and you have 4-5 choices of appetizers, first, second courses and dessert. Most of the workers are extremely friendly, the grounds are immaculate and the entire effect is paradise.

Viva Tangerine by Wyndham: Fantastic resort

We spent the March Break here and loved it! The resort is very clean and the resort staff are very helpful, even if they don't all speak English. If you know some Spanish before you go that would be very helpful. The pool and the beach were both spectacular. Expect to be approached several times a day on the beach by people selling jewellery, cigars etc as they are allowed to sell their products there. Just say, "No, gracias" if you are not interested. The only problem I encountered was that my room key wouldn't work several times and my room door lock broke but it was fixed right away, after I went in person to the front desk. I would definitely go back.

Viva Tangerine by Wyndham: a great family resort

just returned from a week long family vacation. we had an amazing time and would definitely recommend this hotel to others. check in was fairly smooth, the staff were very friendly and helpful with luggage. There was an issue with one of our rooms at check-in but we were upgraded to a junior suite at no additional cost. the grounds were very clean and there were always staff about cleaning and performing maintenance. the rooms were clean and bright. Every staff we talked with reminded us not to drink tap water. the beds were firm but not uncomfortable. there was only one bar but the staff were competent and even during busy times we only waited a few minutes. The buffet was pretty good and had a theme for each day. the a la cartes were very good, although you need to make a reservation early in the day to get a spot. The only thing i will say is if you have a large group it is hard to get reservations. The snack bar has foods like hot dogs and burgers and fries for the picky eaters. We traveled with Sunwing and our representative was amazing, very informative, told us the best excursions to go on. We did the waterfalls(Damajua) and they were amazing. the puerto plata city tour and cable car, paradise island and horseback riding. All tours were done well and tour guides were friendly and informative. the beach was a public beach so there were vendors there, they can be persistent but with a firm no thank you they will leave you alone. It was usually very windy hence being a good spot for kite surfing and the waves were pretty rough. while we were there we weren't able to swim some days because of the strong currents and riptides. the hotel has signs saying they don't staff lifeguards but there are people on the beach most days monitoring swimmers and would get people out of the water if the current was too strong. the beach was very nice to walk along, great for finding shells along the way. the pool is where we spent most of our time. i would recommend doing the water aerobics they do a class every day and it's very fun. the entertainment crew has something going every couple of hours. The nightly shows don't start til 945pm but for the most part they're entertaining. Mostly they do them outside near the pool or if its raining they move them upstairs to the theatre. overall a great resort, family friendly

Viva V Samana by Wyndham: Very nice place!

We were very happy with our stay here. Beautiful location! Resort very clean and beautifully decorated. Staff were amazing and so friendly! Mix of guests, most expecting quiet...some need to be friendlier and relax and have fun!!! Loved being on ground floor with patio and plunge pool. Food was very good, we do not agree with other complaints of food, as many options including the 3 a la carte restaurants. Viva Azteca by Wyndham: Simple, comfortable hotel

We enjoyed our recent stay at Viva Azteca. We are repeat guests who have previously stayed at both Azteca and Maya. The rooms were dated, but clean, cool, and quiet. The mattresses and pillows need replacement. Food was decent, we ate most diners in Playa del Carmen as pre planned. Buffet Waiter Alfonzo was most kind and helpful at breakfast and lunch. (Tractor did not come near the shore due to erosion concerns.) I was only able to swim in the ocean 1 day, next door at RIU Lupitas oceanfront. (They worked hard at raking daily.) We were happy with the value we received aside from the seaweed problem. They are charging an eco tax, (20 pesos per room per day,) but the beaches were only raked once in 9 days buy a local clean up team that did the entire Playacar beach. There are 335 rooms at Azteca at 20 pesos per day..... My expectations were not met as far as beach conditions/maintenance. Viva should participate in the clean up beyond the tractor & burial.

We arrived at 3.30 pm room not ready till 5.00 pm , Hotel management no help Buffet food very cold Ask for money exchange at front desk got the run around for 3 days before I could get but only 100.00 peso . Only one bar open for guest the front bar was only for the buffet staff Management staff very un friendly Will not return to this resort Poor service at this hotel And the weatjet rep. NOT HELPFUL
