Brisas Guardalavaca: Great Vacation

Three girls traveled to Brisas for a week and we had a fabulous time. Thoroughly enjoyed the horseback riding with Juan Carlos through the local village and to the bat cave. We walked off the resort everyday and felt safe and was always greeted with friendly hellos by the locals. Beach was beautiful and clean. We will return

Brisas Guardalavaca: Wonderful Vacation

Three of us girls just got back from a fabulous week. The local people and staff were all great, friendly and welcoming. We went for daily walks off the resort and were greeted by the friendly locals and always felt safe. The resort is very clean with a beautiful wide beach. We will be returning.

Brisas Guardalavaca: Beautiful People, Beautiful Resort

Stayed in a mini villa suite, comfortable King bed, clean, plenty of hot water and pressure, coffee maker and fridge with a beautiful ocean view in Building 5 room 5206 very sweet maid who created wonderful towel art everyday. Beach was very wide and had no problem finding a spot even in the afternoon, met some wonderful locals and would recommend horseback riding with Juan Carlos who has stables across the road from the Villa lobby as well as his son Jose for a carriage ride and off resort dinn [... read more]er at La Maison (awesome food, view and service). Brisas Guardalavaca: Love this spot

This was my second trip to brisas. I had a great vacation . The hotel, food, beach, and grounds are exactly what I am looking for. The entertainment crew are the best of any resort I have been to. The entertainment itself is fun and just enough.. I will not hesitate to go again.

Brisas Guardalavaca: Awesome place!

The beach here is absolutely amazing! Hotel is clean and the food is good. I kept.hearing Cuba has bad food but this place was awesome. If you keep in mind you are in Cuba and keep your expectations there, you can't get good old Alberta beef but it was very nice. Friendly people, older crowd at this place. Would go back for sure!

Brisas Sierra Mar: Had a great time

The Hotel could use a few repairs, Our room had water leak in the ceiling a few times, the toilet door wouldn't close, the toilet needed fixing but, The person who cleaned our room, did a great job every day. It was fine for Cuba. The Staff were nice and friendly. The food was pretty good compared to a few resorts I have been to in Cuba. Brisas Santa Lucia: Thank you Brisas for wonderful vacation

VERY CLEAN hotel. Rooms, cafeteria, garden, beach - maintained daily and spotless clean. FRIENDLY AND PROFESSIONAL STAFF, pleasant, smiling, offering help and solutions to every little problem. I was there with my grandson and sometimes we needed a little extra service, and I must say we were well taken care of. So thank you Brisas, thank you Trip Central and thank you Air Transat. Our money was well spent.

Brisas Guardalavaca: Status Quo and then some!

We've been going to the Brisas for many years. More recently I read a few reviews indicating that things had gone down hill. After much deliberation we decided to book a week. The hotel is 20 plus years old and certainly it does require updating. The beds are typical "cuban fair". More recently I stayed at a 4.5 star and the beds were no better. Hard. We had an upgrade to ocean front however the nightly/daily [... read more] poolside entertainment was too much to handle and we moved to the quieter villa's. The resort is very well appointed and far more user friendly than the other hotel I referred to earlier. If you have mobility issues then the hotel is best for you. It has elevators, unlike the other hotel in Santa Maria. The villas are also showing their age but the rooms are cleaned fairly well so if you aren't upset by older amenities then you will be fine. The television channel selection is VERY minimal. The pools are clean. The bathrooms generally have soap, unlike the other hotel I was at, and the cleanliness was really exceptional. Staff are super nice and all work very hard. The buffet breakfast is very good. Lunch was hit and miss. Snack bar/ice cream/churros kiosks super! The hotel has worked very hard to increase their star rating however in all fairness I think they need to update the rooms to really deserve such. The al a carte options are very good. Ultimately I am really glad we went back. I wouldn't hesitate to go again. I think we need to remember it is Cuba and at times their standards don't match ours. If you can over look a few things you are sure to have a good time. The staff really do their best to help you out with any issue you may have. Our air conditioning didn't work in the villa and the guy never did come back to fix it but we didn't let that ruin our vacation.

As usual Brisas doesn't disappoint. Weather was spectacular. Staff wonderful I did feel they didn't have as much entertainment each nite. Food good as usual. Need new beds though or maybe we are spoiled

Brisas Guardalavaca: Love the resort

Can't say enough about the resort. Unfortunately my experience wasn't what I had planned. I have been to this resort many times. I booked back in October and stated that I was a returning guest and requested 5th floor Oceanview with king bed but somehow my request never got to the hotel. So i was stuck in the 3rd floor with 2 double beds and the hotel didn't know I was a returning guest which means I did not enjoy the privlages that come with being a returning guest. Friends booked last minute.  [... read more]Their travel agent requested a 5th floor Oceanview room. Guess what, they got their request yet I did not although I had booked 5 months in advance. Terribly disappointed. I even had my daughter book her upcoming trip to this hotel thriugh trip central. Thankfully I was able to talk to the hotel during my fiasco so that she will not go through the same treatment I did. Hopefully she will get her request and be treated as the returning guest that she deserves. The hotel assured me everything will be good for her.

Brisas Santa Lucia: Great vacation

Other than some minor things with rooms like broken and dated items. The resort was great, staff was great! Food was surprisingly good for Cuba especially the à la carte restaurants! A remote area for those that prefer being closer to a city but we had a fantastic vacation and would return!

Brisas Santa Lucia: Good times

No complaints at all. Food, staff, beach, pool, bars, shows, rooms... were all as expected or better. Excursions were fun and great value. 3rd time in Cuba and have not yet been disappointed. The rooms will need to be updated in the next few years, but still very functional.

Brisas Santa Lucia: resort meets more than my expectations.

Exquisite landscaping. Better than expected food. Outstanding service. Very clean room. cleaned daily. Entertainment well done. Outstanding coffee bar. Spotless, larger than life pool. Stunning coral reef. Very nice beach raked daily. Variety of excursions offered. Ready to go again next winter. My luggage got lost on the way to the Camaguai airport. I got a generous compensation. Luggage got delivered to the hotel no problem. I recommend this place!!

Brisas Sierra Mar: Wonderful people, relaxing vacation

Brisas Sierra Mar is a very nice resort, by Cuban standards. While it is a little dated and not in an excellent state of repair, the staff are very friendly and hospitable, the food is very good and the entertainment is diverse and talented. The prices are affordable and the location is great, so I would recommend it to anyone who can appreciate the culture in less than a 5 star resort.

Brisas Guardalavaca: Villa Experience

We had a large spacious room in Villa #9 which is central to the grounds.Enjoyed the patio mornings to watch tennis players or catch the rising sun. It was also close to the beach and main hotel. The room was clean and everything worked. Happy to have hot water ! Our maid service was excellent.The villa bar and pool area are very relaxing and quieter than the main pool area near the hotel.

Very nice place had a great time staff was amazing food was great can't beat 15 paso lobster dinners walking distance to the local market with lots of vendors great little bar thier too gorgeous spot lots of shad

Brisas Guardalavaca: Extremely Relaxing Experience

Well kept resort. Staff is constantly working on updating something and seem to be very proud of the property and their work. We stayed in the Villa section which is very quiet and a completely different experience to the hotel and was just what we wanted. Food was good, entertainment was good and people/staff were outstanding. The beach and the area in general was the highlight. Brisas Santa Lucia: Really a 3 star hotel but a 10 star plus camping!

The beach was like most beaches in Cuba, amazing! Soft sand, clear waters and lots of chairs with the palm leafed umbrellas. The hotel is not too big and everything is located around the center pool area. The lobby, the rooms, the coffee bar, the stage right at the pool and the snack bar are all located around the pool. Easy to navigate and we were less than 3 minutes to our room from the beach. The exercise room is not up to par, equipment is old, not working or missing pieces. No free hand wei [... read more]ghts, no mats, no water dispenser, no clips for the plates on the lifting bar and the bench press is bolted into one position only.Now when In Cuba, you may get no toilet seats on the toilet, so squat. You may have a broken chain to flush your toilet in your room but it has been repaired with a fishing line and you pull on the knob. The beds are foam but great after a long day out in the beautiful sun! Slept like babies. There seemed to be a creature defecating on my balcony lawn chair so I just swooshed it off. There is plenty of food if you love seafood and fish, wish we do not. But, we could always find chicken, pork or beef. You can ask the chef to refry meats that are not up to your standards. Lots and lots of salads and always rice and beans for gluten free individuals. If you are into eating omelets, pancakes, or fresh spaghetti, you are in luck but plan to wait. It is a long process. Do not look for jam, peanut butter or Nutella but you can bring your own if you like. There were several special buffet nights since we were there at Carnival time and Valentine's Day! Food piled sky high! I did see a complete cow splayed out including its tail being barbecued on a metal bed support hanging on ropes. It has presently turned me into a vegetarian. The pool is super active with music and activities if that is your seen. Lots of security but you should bring your own towel to the beach. There seems to be towel theft and if you lose yours, you must pay $25.00 which is about $34.50 when converted. Using your own towel helps you reserve and find your chair. Coffee bar was amazing. My husband drank Spanish coffees endlessly and there were herbal teas for caffeine free lovers. We loved our trip because we needed to get away and we had the same sun and beach of any other hotel whether it is a 5 star or a 3 star, we all have the same weather. We would go back for sure. If you need everything perfect and can't accept a few not so perfect standards, then it might not be your thing. If you love the outdoors and camping then we rate it a 10 star plus experience. We had everything we needed and got amazing tans, made friends, we did not starve were safe and did not starve! The staff were very, very accommodating. One hour and 5 minutes drive to arrive to hotel from airport but one and half hours to return due to locals on bikes, and horses and carts on the street. Transat was an excellent resource person and always available.

Brisas Sierra Mar: Good resort

The hotel was good, very clean and comfortable. Awesome beach, I love the water, so warm.The paddle boat was fun and relaxing, my husband enjoyed snorkeling We really had a good time I would definitely return, for a much longer stay

Brisas Santa Lucia: Not bad....

Only one bottle of water given at arrival. The rest of the time I had to refill the empty bottle at the lobby or snack bar. The layout was pretty good. Always something on the go. The disco was off the resort and had to pay for drinks there. No free drinks at disco. The best pool that I've ever seen in Cuba. Very clean and deep. The ocean was very shallow. Almost had to walk a 1/4 mile to find deep water. Food was good for Cuba.
