Great resort

Nice beaches, great people. Rooms are just ok. Good variety of foods. Ask hotel about taking a boat ride to a nearby snorkelling adventure. It's a lot better trying to arrange it with hotel than your group.

Wonderful experience

We had a great time at Iberostar Daiquiri, Cayo Guillermo. I have a walking disability and the resort provided me with a ground floor room very close to the buffet. It was perfect for me. The pathways are smooth concrete and there are ramps everywhere so I had no trouble navigating with my mobility scooter. We enjoyed the food, especially the Mexican a la carte. We went for the rest and warmth and that is what we got. Thanks to all the great staff who treated us so well!

Great Location! -- (not so great food)

This is a smaller resort which has its perks … seconds to the beach or pool with great views from the superior ocean view rooms. Always a breeze on the beach and the balcony! Great option for kite surfers. The standard rooms are not renovated and therefore need great improvements. If we had not been in the upgraded room the vacation would have been drastically different-- the value for us was all in the location to the pool and beach -- the views and the room quality. Unfortunately the food w [... read more]as not what we expected and our expectations were already low based on feedback on cuba's cuisine. The meat and fish options were rarely cooked properly ( raw pork burgers are scary!) and the selection at the buffet, beach and pool bar was minimal, flavourless, and rarely rotated. The donut station in the morning was a kid favourite and the pizza station was the safest and most consistent option. Pasta station was plain but also a safe bet unless you got garlic… which was not shucked and roots still attached?!. We expected higher quality at the a la carte options but frankly the buffet was better. The resort may want to consider some food handling training and menu reviews as I find it hard to believe that someone doesn't know how to prepare garlic and that raw meat will make people sick. Service was great and the staff very friendly overall. Our room was cleaned daily. The beach and pool staff were engaging and fun with both adults and kids. The entertainment was great in the evenings with multiple options in the lobby and theatre. Overall it is a good value if you are in an upgraded ocean view room and are only looking for some sun and beach time but if food is an important component of your vacation …this is not the resort for you. I would explore other resorts before recommending this one. However, if the food was improved upon it could be a real contender.

Beautiful Resort

When we arrived I saw a beautiful , clean resort with every Staff being very friendly and with a smile on their faces. Our room was nice and the pool view from our balcony was great. Lots to choose from at the restaurants. The beach was so clean and there were so many activities to get involved in we were busy with quite a few of them everyday.

LOVED IT!

The rooms had been recently renovated and were beautiful. There was a wonderful terrace at the end of the floor of our building where we could look at the beach and the stars at night. Food was great. The size of the resort was perfect - not too big - so if our children went out on there own to pool or the beach, it was easy to find them. By far this was the nicest place we have stayed at in Cuba.

Wonderful trip

Great resort! Had a fabulous time! Staff were very friendly and helpful. Lots of fresh made stations in the buffet. Whole resort was very clean and well maintained. Ensure to bring bug spray for the sand fleas. This could have been helped a little if the staff had raked the seaweed up in the beach every morning. Otherwise we had nothing negative to say about this resort.

Wonderful resort and vacation

This resort was great. It is small in comparison to some and that makes it the perfect size. The pool is clean, plenty of loungers, staff try to get you to interact but don't bug you. The pool bar is not too busy and offers some shade behind a beautiful waterfall. The beach is white soft sand, great for walking especially when the tide is out, snorkelling is good just off shore but there are trips by boat to a nearby island. Water is great for kids to play not too deep. The kite surfers down the [... read more] beach are very entertaining to watch. The main lobby is clean, has a busy bar especially at night. Entertainment is brought in each night in addition to the wonderful shows at night. The entertainment team is great and very talented! If you are use to your meals being prepared specifically for you and to perfection you will enjoy the buffet and al a carte restaurants! The service was above and beyond. The rooms are clean and well maintained, nice patio or balcony. People who work here enjoy it, they seem happy. The vendors on the resort change every four days and have wonderful products. People we talked to seem to keep coming back to this resort, staff recognize them as they arrive, this speaks volumes!!

Beautiful Beaches.

Had a few bumps with this trip to Cuba. We waited several hours for bedding. The most frustrating part was the front desk kept saying, "ten more minutes," which turned into hours. Our shower was plugged up often. They had to come and plunge it a few times. They were prompt with this. Food was average at best. There was the least amount of choices in all the places we have stayed in Cuba. Grounds were well kept. The beach was stunning. More beautiful than Hawaii beaches. The manager did put forth [... read more] a good effort to make things right, though offering a 20 minute complimentary massage for all these problems hardly seems enough. Staff were average. Wifi was pretty good for Cuba. I like that the resort is small and you can always find your friends/family. The worst thing about this resort is all the chairs are reserved by 7:30 am!!! And they sit empty all day!!! There are ZERO CHAIRS for most of the day. I find this unacceptable. Invest in some more chairs!! That is what people go there for!!! Will not be back to this resort, or even Cayo Coco.

Relaxing Time in Cayo Coco

Overall we enjoyed our stay at this resort. The staff was amazing. The food was not spectacular but still tasty. Our room, the grounds, and restaurants were kept clean and neat. This is a very windy area of Cuba so be prepared to have a constant breeze the whole time you are there. There always seemed to be a shortage of long chairs at the pool and at the beach with guests selecting chairs as early at 7 am. Once we figured this out, we made sure that we selected our "location" early. If you are  [... read more]interested in working out at the gym, take your own towel. Of the four times we were there, there was only towels available once. The public washrooms were usually out of soap and the paper towel dispensers were filled with toilet paper. Not the best for drying your hands. All outlets are 220 volt, so you need to take a converter with you. If you plan on booking an excursion during your stay, you should think about taking cash with you. If you use a credit card, first they add 3% to the cost, then convert CUC to US funds when billing your card. That means you will also have to pay the US to Canadian conversion as well.

Resort was nice, staff were friendly and helpful.

The resort was nice, it is not too big. Service was good, staff were friendly and helpful, always pleasant! Our room was okay, the beds were so comfortable. We enjoyed the beach and sitting by the pool. It was a relaxing holiday.

the grounds were beutifull the staff were very freindly the room we had was very clean the food was very good they had plenty to eat the hotel facilaties are very clean the pool area was very nice and pool bar was awsome and very freindly

3.5+ Resort

I would rate it an 3.5+. Good - Employees were very nice - Food was good - Pools are great. - The shows were very good. The one in the pools. - Mexicain restaurant was the best one. Not so good - First night was in an old room, too old to sleep in. Ask for a better room and we landed in a renovated room on the second night. This was better. Should get more new chairs - No beach towels for 2 days - For an Iberostar, it sould be better.

The people were just great .

The washrooms need alot more attention .Everytime you went in the public ones they were out of toilet paper .agoring to say the lest . The people are very friendly and helpful Enjoyed the water exercise .Sunwing need to update their airline updates more often.

Had a great time!!!

Staff were awesome. Treated us like Kings! Travelled with 12 total. Always found room for us all, actually waiting for us with table ready. Food was very good. Beach was awesome! Lots to do if you wanted to with Star Friends. The wait staff were always around to fill your drinks. Hardly used my Bubba as they were always looking to get you drinks. Pool water was a little cooler than I like but the weather was cooler before we arrived, but not the resorts fault. We stayed in a standard room and it [... read more] was fine. The layout of the resort is nice and the villas had nice views that you didn't have to pay extra for. Great trip, would go back tomorrow if I could!! Excellent experience

This resort was very clean well maintained grounds and buildings the service was great you could get good food at any time of day. The evening theater shows were great .Bar service was excellent special thanks to Denis The hardest working guy i ever met.

Small but nice

The resort was small and easy to get around. Not much to do,but that was ok we wanted RR time. Staff received you well, always accommodating to your needs. On some occasions you needed to ask for a drink when the bar staff was cleaning up your table. We found the maids were not very friendly, what I mean by that is they never smiled, they would reply to your good morning and even that didn't seem sincere. Rooms kept clean, we only had to ask for towels and the fridge re-stocked once. We had room 2239 great ocean view. The pool bar was great, mind you it was cold, so used a lot. I do have to say that the a La Carte restaurants did not disappoint and the buffet was good.

An Older Resort on a Beautiful Setting

Room: We arrived late evening and were without the use of a toilet that flushed until afternoon of the next day although I reported the situation immediately. Others had similar experiences. The room was clean and the cleaning staff friendly. Grounds and Beach: A beautiful white sand beach surrounded by well cared for surroundings. Restaurants: The buffet food was very good with many choices for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Cooking and serve staff very good and friendly. The bake shop produced [... read more] excellent bread and cakes. Their sweet rolls were the best I have tasted. Lots of fresh fruit was available as well a good selection of fresh salads. The Italian Restaurant served an amazing pasta dish as well as chicken. The Beach Restaurant was well stocked with a variety of hot and cold foods throughout the day. Entertainment: My wife and I enjoyed the nightly shows. My favorite was the magic show. Final Thought: Other than the initial check-in experience we had an enjoyable vacation. However, I fail to understand why the management are not more pro active in making sure the rooms are ready for occupancy prior to the arrival of the next guest. The toilet was a simple fix,

Amazing Resort

I loved this resort. It's size makes it easy to get around. The people and the grounds were great. The beach was beautiful. The pool was small, but never full. The food was excellent and the drinks were perfect. I will be back :)

Amazing Resort- my home away from home

My 4th stay and it has definitely become my home away from home. Exceptional staff and nightly entertainment is excellent. Boogie night show awesome! And iberoawards show is awesome , great food. A must return :).

Excellent place to visit a had a very good time there the staff is terrific recommend for families and couples food is also very good rooms are average for the price I think is worth it beach is super clean I will be back
