Nice resort

Nice big resort, clean and friendly with big pool. Unfortunately, not many facility for young children. There are five restaurants à la carte but just two of them are very good. The food is good, you can eat shrims and languste every day but also have steak or pasta. The service is good also.

Playa Pesquero is our 2nd home away from home!

The resort is beautiful. We have been many times and this trip we found they have made some very nice changes to update decor and gardens. Our rooms were lovely and the food in the a la carte restaurants was amazing. The rooms were very clean and the service was great. Of course the beach was amazing. Also because we were returning guests they held a special Gala Dinner for all returning guests with entertainment and an amazing dinner.

Amazing Resort!

This was my first time at Playa Pesquero (11-18 Nov 2017), and I LOVED everything about it! I am already excited to go back in 2 years for my 40th birthday! Karaoke, ice cream parlour, 24hr beer gardens - what more could you ask for?!!!! The beach was beautiful, pool was clean and the right temperature, the food was AMAZING (like, amazing, not even "Cuba-amazing"), so many meal options, the drinks were always right, staff were wonderful. Excellent Resort

My sister and I and two 80ish year old Moms stayed at Playa Pesquero Nov 3-10. It is a larger resort, but has a small resort atmosphere. There were 6 seater carts to take you wherever you wanted to go. We all had a fantastic week. The staff are so thoughtful and friendly. At the dinner buffet one night a server left the restaurant to get a bucket of ice for my wine!! The food was excellent and lots of variety The pool and beach was amazing. Very good resort

Very nice room. Service very good. Very good landscape, beautiful beach. Good restaurants & plenty of food. Nice tropical fruits. Very nice entertainment every evening. Very friendly people. Very good location.

Moneys worth

A nice place, well kept surrounding. The Sgaff are very friendly and helpful. Most of them speake english. Excellent Lobby. One draw back is their Wi fi awrvice. Very difficult to get connected. In modern days the service they are providing is Extremly poor ans sub standared. Unless they upgrade this service, I will not recommend for people who like to use their phone for data, whats app etc

Play Pesquero- good resort because of amasing beach!!!

Good: Beach is excellent, very calm, coral reef is close, no problems with chairs in the shadow and towels (very good service). Other (could be improved): 1. Room are outdated, air-condition does not work well. 2. Entertainment is very basic, absent several days a week. 3. No entertainment at the beach, except laud music (stretching, water aerobics, other games). 4. Open buffet, without air-condition, lots of fans are not working, huge amount of flies (specially in the morning) - not accept [... read more]able for the 5 stars hotel (even Cuban). 5. Chairs in one part of the beach are plastic (very uncomfortable) - do not exist in many other Cuban hotels. 6. Cleaning of the rooms is not the best (the floor in the room was not washed, at the balcony not cleaned at all). 7. Curtains are dirty, not ironed, missing hangers, look terribly in any place, not acceptable in the 5 starts hotel.

Playing in Pesquero

My husband and I stayed at this resort Oct 6/17 for 1 week and enjoyed it very much. The beach was amazing, always found a lounge in the shade. The pools were beautiful and very clean. The a la carts were very good. The buffet was good for Cuba. The lobby area - including coffee bar and lobby bar was very nice, spacious and a great place to socialize. The staff were amazing and could not do enough for you. Very friendly and happy. We tipped often and they certainly deserved it. We loved this place.

We really enjoyed our vacation at Playa Pesquero. We have 2 small children, and stayed for 7 days. Yes, there are some dated facilities, but very clean and maintained well. Food is great for Cuba. Beach is amazing. Staff is the best. Our issue was with mosquitos, we had to seek medical help for our son. Also it was so hot, but we had amazing weather, so should not complain about that. Not for those seeking luxury, as Cuba offers something different, but equally great. Viva Cuba! Can't wait to go again.

Family vacation #3

Good resort hotel for family a family vacation staff is so wonderful! Had a very relaxing vacation! No worries about finding shade by the pool or the beach. Always found something to eat! Would go there again because the price was so right !!

NICE TRIP BEFORE HURRICANE IRMA

Hotel playa pesquero is nice and clean. The beach is nice on some parts of the resort. The left side is full of rocks. The rooms are well kept. The pools need to be clean better. Too much junk floating in the bottom. The food was the best I ever hate at Cuba. The hotel itself his a good 4 star for Cuba. I was farley impress. Some of the staff needs to be more happy if they want more tip. Has for Cubana Airlines, let's just say it was awful. Never again!!! Mediocre

In sum, the resort is nice (if you like big resorts). ROOMS are outdated and crawling with ants. we paid extra for superior plus rooms & were told we would be close to everything, we were farther than the regular rooms and had to walk forever to get anywhere. FOOD was awful, not even salad bar with lettuce... BEACH to die for:) WORKERS were great! OVERALL would not go back.

Beautiful resort

The resort was very nice and clean, restaurants were okay, but the beach was amazing and the pools were great. Lots of activities daily to keep occupied. Rooms were clean and cool. Bar service was quick even during busy times.

Good Resort, some ups and downs

Large ground, spacious, lots of walking making good exercise. Food is mediocre; the a la carte restaurants were really good, especially if you like seafood. Personal favourite would be the cold entree shrimp dish. Great beach front and large pool. Plenty of bars available, pool bar was nice to have available. Great ice cream bar. Great place for families. Rough for those who sweat a lot as there are very few a/c areas. Waiters and waitresses were overall great and attentive. A good resort with a few areas to improve upon

When planning a trip to Cuba, my girlfriend and I researched several resorts and locations to make sure we chose a vacation that would be right for us. We settled on Playa Pesquero after reading several reviews that promised clean rooms, beautiful beaches and a well maintained pool, and a good variety of food. We went into our vacation with realistic expectations, we knew that even with a highly rated resort, the food was not likely to be gourmet, but we mainly were travelling to enjoy the warm  [... read more]weather and relax on the beach. For the most part, the resort lived up to our expectations, and we had a great time during our holiday, however there were a few things we noted that would have made our stay even more enjoyable. First, and most importantly, we had extreme issues checking into our room. We were given keys to our room that did not work, and when I returned to fix the issue, I was given a second set of keys that again did not work. After returning to the front desk a third time they finally called for someone to go examine the lock, which they had to completely replace. From the time we arrived at the hotel to when we actually were able to enter our rooms took over 2 hours. After a long day of flying and travelling, this was not how we wanted our vacation to start. What made it particularly frustrating is that there was no apology given to me by the front desk throughout the process of fixing this. On our first night we did not feel particularly welcomed and both of us were worried about how this type of customer service would reflect on the rest of our trip. After this night however, the service we received from the staff (waitresses, housekeeping, etc.) was always friendly and helpful. The beaches, as promised, were crystal clear and beautiful, and we spent each day of our seven day vacation at least partly enjoying the ocean. The food was, as we expected, not incredible, but there was a large variety, and you could wait for fresh cooked meat at each buffet. The 24 hour beer garden served delicious finger foods at all times, and we visited this almost every day. One negative we noticed is that the cooks at the buffet would sometimes use the same tongs to handle raw chicken as they did to plate their cooked meat, which made the food unappetizing to my girlfriend. The only other negative I have to say is that when I exchanged currency at the booth at the resort, the person assisting me tried to give me 20 dollars less than I was exchanging for, and while he claimed it was a simple error, I believe it was possible he was trying to take advantage of tourists who do not know the exchange rate and was going to pocket the extra money he tried not to give me. Although this was likely an isolated incident, I would advise people to pay close attention when exchanging money at the resort. Once we got over the shock of our treatment the first night, and were able to relax and enjoy the surroundings it was a great vacation. A little more attention to detail when it comes to customer service from the front desk and things like food handling would go a long way to making this a nearly perfect resort.

Amazing Resort!

Playa Pesquero checks all the boxes, Grounds were nice, staff friendly, beach, food (lobster incl in most restaurants) everything worked well in the rooms. Good food, good friends, good time! One of the best resorts to visit in Holguin.

Great Resort for a wonderful family holiday

Had a wonderful time. Great place; great people. Resort was beautiful. Overall great place but few arrears for improvement - 1. Plenty of food and drink, however, I found that bottled water was tightly controlled. Room was only stocked with 1 bottle of water and needed to ask for more. 2. Room bathroom had plenty of really hot water but the cold water seemed to trickle. Cold water is more important in summer. Would surely go back and recommend it to others. Great resort :)

The beach was amazing, the hotel grounds were great and even the food was very good (first time I can say this about Cuba) Make sure to visit the a la cart restaurants as they offer some delicious options (although I would not recommend The Grill). Awesome holiday!
