Good place to relax

The place was moderately clean, well-maintained. The staff are nice, the food is decent. Daily entertainment was not good, However, the show at night was better. There's not much of dancing for younger people though.

Cuba Solo 2017

Beach was beautiful. Service was excellent. Pool and the grounds were nice. Food was good. Options to travel to clubs, a club on site would be more convenient however, this setup is what I prefer. I can go to a club back home and the option is available there, it just differs the socializing experience having it off site. Shows/activities were entertaining. They were as inclusive as you choose to make them and the staff made good cases when convincing you to participate.

Disappointing

This was our fourth trip to Cuba, so we felt that we had our expectations in check. We bring extras to survive the culinary challenges and go to Cuba for the beaches and the people. Unfortunately after this experience, I don't know if I will ever return to Cuba again. Absolutely no selection and they ran out of staples (orange juice, mangos, pineapples, gin, ice cream at the ice cream parlour, chicken, shrimp etc.) The restaurants were a constant topic among the guests as most people left during their meal. Pulling something off the buffet and writing "Cuba" in ketchup just doesn't cut it. Every person we associated with during our stay had some form of food poisoning while we were there. The resort is misrepresented on line. The first room they put us in was absolutely disgusting! I didn't even want to sleep in it for a single night. Stains everywhere on everything, holes in linens, unbelievable. This was nothing like the rooms pictured on line. After complaints, the run-around, and promises about the review I'd write when I got home, we did get a room change the next day, but what a way to start off our holiday. I will never visit a Memories resort again and may never venture back to this island. The beach was beautiful, but you had to get a chair by 8:30 am or you were out of luck heaven forbid they let you use one from the "exclusive diamond club" section that had a total of 3 couples there the whole week and a plethora of beach chairs and space. As I said very disappointed by this resort.

Gorgeous beach, resort is ok

The hotel & grounds were really pretty. The pool was large & clean.The room was clean & the bed very comfortable. I barely had any hot water during my stay but my cousins did have hot water in their room. The food was ok. I really enjoyed the Asian restaurant. The only negative was lack of entertainment. After the show there was really nothing to do other then the piano bar. Even at that, there was no music unless you paid the performers. Nice resort

Quiet. Food ok, lots to choose from. Nice beach. Water was warm and clean. Location was good, 10min from airport. Look of chair at beach and pool. Staff was very friendly. Lots of activities. Would go back again.

Great resort!

We visited the Memories Caribe resort in Cayo Coco Cuba the last week of June. We really loved this resort. The beach is amazing! We had a renovated room which was fresh, clean and had a comfortable bed. The service was great and staff were very friendly. Food was average but always enough to eat - mini pizzas on the beach were very tasty. We will definitely be back!

Beautiful beach but that's it!

The beach was amazing. The resort rooms are in desperate need of renovations. the grounds are well kept. MOSQUITOES were out of control, they did not spray until it was too late at night. The service was mediocre, they gave more attention to their colleagues/phones then to guests. The beach chairs were broken and the papas did not protect from sun, they need to put palm tree leaves to create shade.

Great Time at Memories Caribe

Small Fantastic resort, Quick to get from one location to another, good food, Amazing staff, facilities are clean and maintained, rooms are comfortable and clean. Would definitely return back to Memories Caribe, Cuba.

Beautiful beach

Nice resort. The room was always clean. At first we were in Building 10 but we found it very hot. The ac was not cooling down the room. On the first day When we mentioned it to the front desk they offered us another room in Building 15 the temperature was much better- cooler. The food was good. Not a lot of choices but the grill was very good and tasty. Always pork or beef, chicken,fish, shrimp and pasta station. And we did have 2 a la carte dinners while we were there for 1 week. Snack bar was [... read more] open 24 hours a day. Also the pizza on the beach had very good pizza. The staff was fantastic and very friendly and helpful. The only drawback was the bugs. Lots of mosquitos which I think is very common on the entire island.the resort was constantly fogging and spraying in the morning and evening. The nightly entertainment was full of talented people and there were a few days that we know of where there was a live band and a singer another day entertaining us by the pool during the afternoon. And where else could you be entertained by the resident flamingo wandering about the pool.

Awesome Resort - I'll be back!!

Loved Memories Caribe - really nothing bad to say.....my room was 2006 - renovated section, no complaints... People are friendly, 4th trip to Cuba, 3rd time to Cayo Coco since July 2015, 1st time at this resort - I will be back for sure!! Robert the resident flamingo was amazing, really enjoyed my stay - can't wait to go back!!

Amazing

Great place, great beach, great people, love the synchronized dancing it was amazing, would definitely go back with the rest of my family. I have enjoyed so much that I would say after 18 times that I have been in Cuba this one was the best time of my life. We had enjoyed much more than I could ever imagine, we decided to bring along a little extra hot spicy's and lemon juice and the rest is history. We know that different countries have different tastes of foods and we enjoyed spicy food  [... read more]so I brought along a little bit of my Portuguese sauce and lemon juice and it was good, the next time when you go bring along your own touch of spicy's. Thank you to all the staff at the beach bar with the extra ice water with peppermint to my taste and the very special cappuccino and the express coffee to my liking I do thank you to all the stuff from the front desk to the ladies getting our rooms always ready with beautiful pieces of their own imagination always welcoming us home, be grateful for what you have and be good to others as you would want them to be good to you enjoy your time and have good clean fun. Don't worry about the little things.

Great Resort

Absolutely beautiful, the beach, the pool and the staff were amazing. Would definitely return. Buffet was fantastic, snack bar yummy...........Our room was very clean everyday. Loved the piano bar.

Memories Caribe

The resort was clean and well laid out. One of the best beaches I have ever been! The staff was friendly and helpful. The coffee bar was great! Food was okay, not amazing, but good enough for the week

Absolutely Beautiful Beach !!!

The grounds are kept meticulously... The renovated rooms are very nice and comfortable. I would specifically ask for an updated room. The pool is lovely, enough chairs for everyone. Guests are mostly French Canadian. For the price this is a great place for a vacation.

Great Vacation, would return!

The grounds and public areas of the resort are great and very well kept! We were upgraded to a mini suite but disappointed that we couldn't get a renovated room. We had a few spiders daily in our room but not a major issue, we did not complain. Food for Cuba is great! The service is amazing, get churros and drinks brought to you while sitting on the side of the pool. The staff at the meals is also very attentive.

A vacation to remember!

The Buffet was very good - but didn't like the al la carts. Renovated rooms had terrible lighting & no doors on bathrooms. We changed rooms - hotel staff was very accommodating and Sunwing staff very helpful. New rooms were good - lighting, air conditioning, view and bathrooms. Disappointed - no disco or club on the resort. Beautiful Beaches and great pool.

Charming Resort with a beautiful beach

I recently spent a week at this charming resort in Cayo Coco. The resort is small with a beautiful salt water pool, well manicured grounds, friendly staff and outstanding entertainment, but it was the sparkling blue waters and white powder sand beach that took my breath away. If you like to snorkel, I would recommend spending the 20 pesos to have a guide take you to the reef on one of the hobby cats. There are tons of fish and brilliant corals and the 45 minute trip out to the reef gives you  [... read more]a great view of Cayo Coco from the sea. I loved the fact that this was an adults only resort and that singles could stay without a huge single supplement fee. I stayed in one of the el fresco suites with an outdoor shower. The suite was spacious and clean, but the amenities and decor were a little bit tired. This was not a big issue for me as I do not spend a lot of time in my room, and the hotel itself seems to be going through a process of updating all of the suites. The food in the buffet was well presented and the staff always accommodating. There was nothing too out of the ordinary, the fresh fish, grill and pasta stations were very popular and my preference and the roasted meats were always succulent. The buffet and salad bar always had something appealing, at least for me and I was more impressed with the main dining buffet than I was with the A la carte choices. The lobby bar features a grand piano centre stage and was a great place to enjoy a special coffee, quiet conversation and beautiful music after dinner. There was a wine store on site that featured a good selection of international wines to enjoy either with your meals or in your room for a mere 10 pesos per bottle. I booked the diamond club package and I'm not sure it afforded any real benefits, other than a designated spot on the beach. The resort could do with some no smoking areas for those of us who don't enjoy breathing second hand smoke and I would recommend that they stop the practice of allowing smokers to bring their ash trays into the patio section of the dining area and smoking during meals. This was the first resort I have ever stayed at where vacationers smoked in the pool and at the swim up bar and I found that a rather unpleasant experience as well. The tennis courts and spa were off in their own quiet corner and very nicely maintained and appointed. All an all a very nice Cuban resort with a stunning beach and very kind staff.

Beautiful beach

Beautiful hotel and beach. Food okay. Poor lighting throughout the resort making it unsafe to walk at night. Mosquitos a real problem. Communication lacking among most of the staff making it difficult to ask for directions, drinks etc. The biggest thing was the constant spraying for mosquitos starting at 6 a.m. and continued throughout the resort during the day. Great Vacation

Resort is a short drive (20 minutes) from the airport. The resort is a nice size, not too large. It's quick to get from your room to the beach, pool or main building where the buffet and a la carte restaurants are. They could use a bit more signage showing where the churro guy is, the ice cream parlour and beach snack shacks are located. The rooms are cleaned very well and water replenished daily. The food in the buffet was decent and we always found something to eat...the pasta station was very popular and that is because it was always very good. The a la cartes are hit and miss....we tried the Mediterranean (not very good) and the Asian (liked this one a lot). The Asian books up quickly, so book early. I really enjoyed the food at the snack bar....fries, hot dogs and pizza were my favourite!! Drinks were good and the bar staff was excellent....they served us at our loungers at the beach and pool...very nice touch and prompt service. The beach is absolutely gorgeous. When the tide is out, you can walk for miles on the sand bars. Take a walk and look for starfish and other sea life that you may not have a chance to see when the tide is in. The pool is a nice size. The entertainment staff are really good. They interact with the guest nicely. They made the afternoons by the pool very enjoyable. The Micheal Jackson show, by the pool, was really good. Very talented dancers. The nightly shows were very good. My favourite was the Aqua Show.

A,azing Beach

We loved the resort, mostly the beach, you could walk for miles and crystal clear. The buffet was nice, loved the stir fry, pasta and fish cooking stations. We did one a la carte, food was great but no overly impressed with the cleanliness of the table. Tablecloth was disgustingly dirty and when my husband had a plate taken away there must of been food on the bottom because it left quite a mess. Main one across from lobby bar was always dirty when I went in. Our room was amazing over looking the lake and watched the sun rise every morning. Our maid was very attentive with clean towels every day. Entertainment was good for the most part although we did not venture out too much in the evenings as the mosquitos were terrible this time. Would recommend that the coffee bar be open longer and earlier in the morning, that goes for the lobby bar too, closes way to early for an adult resort. I would go back again, the price was right and we went for the beach and relaxation and we were not disappointed.
