Ocean El Faro: Ocean El Faro

The resort was very clean and the guest services was particularly helpful. Buffet was great and we enjoyed the Italian, Steakhouse and Mexican restaurants. The beach was difficult to manage so I was unable to go to ocean. Bar staff were great.

Occidental Caribe: Pleasantly surprised!

The facility was very clean. They accommodated my food allergies (gluten). A wonderful choice of food for all three meals. The Japanese à la cart was fabulous! We have been to the DR 15 times-first time beef was not an option on the grill. Only pork, chicken and calamari. Some of the bars had watered down drinks. Our room was not fully stocked-you had to request things. Other patrons did not have that issue. We will definitely return, excellent beach!

Viva Miches by Wyndham: Lovely resort

The resort was very clean , well maintained, very friendly staff . Restaurants were very nice. I am celiac and had no worries on what I could eat ., even in the buffet . Entertainment was good different every night ..

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Awesome holiday!

we had an awesome time - the room was updated, the swim-up pool temperatures were amazing, the sports bar had the best cappuccino and the food and views gave us everything we needed. Thank you we will be back!!! Planning the next trip already...

Barcelo Bavaro Palace: Short and kinda sweet…

Solo traveler looking for something easy. I did have a quick stay and honestly, kinda grateful. The beach is stunnnnnnning and very well maintained, just be prepared to fight for your chair. They are all gone well before 8:30 AM. The walk to the lobby is a walk, be prepared. I checked in late and there wasn’t an anyone to show me to my room. With multiple trips back to the lobby bc I was lost and couldn’t access the door, I was exhausted lol. Room was ok, but definitely needed cleaning! I do tra [... read more]vel with my own sheets and thank god lol. The hot tub on the balcony was disgusting and I didn’t use it. Food was ok, didn’t travel for the food so the reviews were right, it’s hit or miss depending where you eat. Honestly - the sun and weather made up for everything else and the peace and quiet of my quick getaway was so needed.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: All in all a great trip.

We enjoyed our time at the Bahia Principe Grand Punta Cana. Food was really good, drinks at lobby were excellent, pool bar mixed drinks were hit and miss. Cleaning staff did a great job keeping our room. The resort was very clean including the public washrooms. Buffets had a good assortment of food and was fresh, our a la carts were also very good. We really enjoyed the show at the Fantasia garden circus although we thought it was an a al cart and later charged $50 a head. Be aware of that.  [... read more] As two friends on vacation, we requested two double beds and had to share a king.. was given a nicer room and was told to go next day to see if any double rooms available. That caused some grief. It was hard to find beach chairs at beach and multiple pools which left others having to lay on the concrete or sand which is not cool. Most people didn't show up all day to use them because they saved chairs in multiple places. Signs were posted against saving chairs but there was nothing to back it up. I think that was our biggest frustration. Front desk staff wasn't very helpful with booking a la carts or with issues involving our room, they lacked on their customer service skills. Other then that I still feel it was a nice vacation and would recommend the resort with a heads up. I would love to give a 5 out of 5 but due to the few issues we did have, I cant.

Serenade All Suites Adults Only Resort: Disappointed at Serenade (10 Days).

Where do I begin.....Check in we were informed the resort was sold out, however if we wanted an upgrade it would be possible for a side deal of 100$US Cash and we had to sign a waiver stating we got a free upgrade, we were told many times that if we had any issues with the room to only contact the 2 at front desk that we made the deal with.(something shady going on) Staff...Not friendly, no hello's, no conversation, if we asked for anything, it felt like we were inconveniencing them, they wer [... read more]e extremely rude and very pushy around the pool to fill out a google review about the property and staff they wanted 5 stars, I declined on several occasion's stating ill do it later. Entertainment(Pool and evenings) was not communicated properly, it was extremely difficult to know what event was going on IF any. Dominican Independence day was celebrated while we were there. If it wasn't for the loud music on the beach we would not have known about the display of coconut drinks and food being served. Drinks and food....All were hit and miss. Drinks were made differently at every bar some way too strong and some frozen cocktails not frozen at all, not all alcohol were available they would run out of JD and not get another bottle but tell you its coming. same with beer Corona only available in certain bar, or for certain people. FOOD....If you like food do not go to this resort....Every meal was a guess if it was going to be good or horrible, same restaurants different days food would be total opposite....4th floor bar, Day one Fish Taco's were amazing every other time we tried RAW Fish....Mexican for lunch NO Guac. Gourmet Restaurant....Plastic in the food, and a paper Bar code in the Potatoes.... Breakfast same everyday no changes, no themes, definitely not what I'm used to for the money we paid....And try to get any drinks for breakfast, wed be done our meal before we got coffee or Juice(NOT REAL ORANGE JUICE) looked more like powdered and tasted like it. Don't get me wrong I've been to Punta Cana many times....I love the area, however this resort was the worst I have been too, I will not go back, I also suggest they lower the star Rating on this resort to a 2. ALSO Bring your own pillows, what they supply is atrocious. Positives......Met some nice people and the weather was hot and sunny.

Punta Cana Princess: Rejuvenating, and restorative destination

Punta Cana Princess was the perfect place to rejuvenate and escape from a cold winter. This small adult only resort had all of the amenities needed to escape. Everything was located within reasonable walking distance. The grounds were beautifully maintained and cleaned daily. The hotel rooms, although aged, were tidy and comfortable. The pool area was clean and was never overcrowded. The beach was only a few steps away from the pool area, and there were ample chairs for guests to claim in the mo [... read more]rning. The food was exceptionally good with a wide variety of fruits, vegetables, and traditional meat dishes as well. The specialty restaurants required no reservations and served specialty foods like fondue and Steak house items. The main buffet restaurant had a different theme each day. There were several bars throughout the small resort and everything was easily accessible. The beach provided a long sandy shoreline. A sister hotel was only a short walk away if you wanted to change the environment and have a little more action. The staff at the resort were accommodating and very friendly. Lovely resort for a stress free relaxing vacation.

Royalton Splash Punta Cana: Definitely nowhere close to a 4.5 or 5 star at best 3.5.

We travel to the Dominican Republic every year — sometimes twice a year — and this was by far the most disappointing resort experience we have ever had. From the moment we arrived, there were issues. The room smelled strongly of septic, the TVs were not working, and the fridge did not work either. Basic room functionality should not be a problem at any resort. We woke up earlier and earlier each day — even as early as 6:30 a.m. — and still could not secure one. For a resort of this size, this is completely inadequate. On top of that, the pool itself was disgusting. We actually had to inform the entertainment staff that it needed cleaning. The entertainment team was mediocre at best. You would see them briefly in the afternoon — perhaps three times total throughout the day — and that was it. There was very little engagement or energy. Restaurant reservations were a nightmare. We were initially told that reservations could only be made at 5:00 p.m. for the following day. Every time we attempted this, everything was fully booked. After three days of frustration, we were finally told that reservations could actually be made starting at 8:00 a.m. — despite having asked multiple staff members previously. The inconsistency and lack of communication were unacceptable. Food quality and availability were also disappointing. For the entire week, there was no lettuce available at lunch or dinner, meaning you could not even make a basic salad. Three days into our stay, we came down with a stomach virus that was clearly spreading throughout the resort. After speaking with multiple guests, it was obvious many people were affected. We spent four days in our room recovering. What was most concerning was that the resort did nothing to inform guests or attempt to contain the outbreak. They could have enforced hand sanitizing, sanitized shared utensils more frequently, or taken visible preventative measures — but instead, it felt like they were trying to ignore the situation. We will absolutely never stay at this resort again.

Caribe Deluxe Princess: Great resort

Very clean and well kept. Great food, long Beach strip, 3 pools, large rooms. Restaurants are great, Japanese grill was great so was Italian. And one must try the local dominican food. Buffet has great and ever changing chouces

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Great Vacation!

We arrived early am , we decided our room wasn’t what we wanted so we were able to upgrade later in the morning for a fee. So worth it we had a beautiful room closer to the beach. From that moment on everything went great, the food was delicious at both the buffets and the à la cartes. The drinks were delicious at all the bars and great entertainment. Lots to do without leaving the resort. But most of all the beautiful people of the Dominican made out vacation complete.

Ocean Blue and Sand: Wonderful resort

The whole experience was great, the staff was very helpful and the resort grounds beautiful and the food is amazing. Exactly what you want out of a holiday in the sun and the beach. Would go back in a minute.

Majestic Colonial Punta Cana Beach Resort: A great resort

This is a beautiful resort. Very clean. A beautiful big clean beach. You can walk on soft sand. There are activities available. Great drinks. The food was very good and fresh. The staff were available to help. The Theatre was big and had good entertainment. The disco was small but we had fun there. The Sports bar was small but had good food and the staff were nice. Sanctuary Cap Cana Luxury Collection Adults Resort: Wonderful Week

We had a wonderful week at Sanctuary Cap Cana once again! We stayed at this resort back in 2021 and were lucky to stay here again this past month. It was as beautiful and relaxing as I remembered. The staff is amazing and extremely accommodating. The only downside to the trip this time around is the way they are now doing reservations for dinner at certain restaurants. You have to make reservations at 2 restaurants on the resort, and not at the 2 others. The entire reservation process is extreme [... read more]ly confusing and takes a long time to do and after sitting with the concierge for an hour to make 2 reservations, as the day(s) came around for the reservations, they were apparently no where to be found and we were told we were out of luck and no longer had an option to dine there. It is an unnecessarily complicated and ineffective process. This system was not in place the last time we stayed and it honestly tainted our stay overall because of the frustration. We have stayed at resorts that had either no reservations at any restaurants and were first come first serve AND also at resorts that were reservations for all dining. Either is fine. But this system they’ve adopted is not good at all and would probably affect my choices to stay again, I was that frustrated and disappointed with it.

Ocean Blue and Sand: Very good resort

Big clean rooms. Not enough lounge chairs and umbrellas. Need more shaded areas by the pool; suggest awnings. We'll kept grounds. Entertainment too late at night for some people. At the beginning the food was too salty but was okay once we pointed it out. Service was very good in the restaurants and bars.

Punta Cana Princess: Very Relaxed Vibe, Great Staff, more like a 3+Star

Overall, we had a fantastic stay at Punta Cana Princess. The staff are all wonderful and go above & beyond to provide anything you desire. The resort is small, average age is 40+, relaxed vibe, some night life/music but no disco. Beach area is lovely and nice big pool, you don't feel crowded in any area. Restaurant food was much better and nice to not need reservations! Definitely recommend this for dinners. Beer is Presidente, liquors are no name unless you upgrade to VIP. Although personally I don't that it's worth $35/USD per day, we were fine with no name/generic liquors. Nice that you have to option to visit the 2 family resorts, them seem more up to date style wise and have a coffee bar & ice cream shop to visit. Trolly available, or short walk on the beach. I would recommend this resort to anyone who wants a nice low-key getaway and doesn't mind not having all the bells & whistles- if the price is right, grab it for a relaxed holiday!

Majestic Elegance Punta Cana: NOT A SANDALS RESORT.....BUT A VERY CLOSE SECOND!

We have been to several southern resorts over the years (Panama, Jamaica, Puerto Plata, Bermuda, etc). The Majestic Elegance is by far the absolute best resort we have ever been to (excluding Sandals - in Bermuda). Here's the thing........IT WAS HALF THE PRICE!!!!!!! Dollar for dollar, this is the absolute best bang for the buck anywhere south of Texas/Florida. Full stop. The food was not bad, it just wasn't great. It was okay. Otherwise, we had zero complaints. Barcelo Bavaro Palace: Going back

Will absolutely return, which is the best recommendation I can think of. Trip Central's Monique, was a great help with the booking to help put our minds at ease by answering all our questions so we could enjoy our trip.

Secrets Tides Punta Cana: Lovely Adults-Only experience

Secrets Tides was a beautiful resort, lovely facilities and great beach. Buffet was very good, restaurants were a bit of a mixed bag, some very good some just okay. Adult-only vibe made it much easier to make friends as people weren't preoccupied with their kids and we enjoyed the relative peacefulness. Only serious detraction was the ridiculous "reserving" of pool loungers at stupid times in the morning for the whole day whether people were actually in the pool or not.
