Las Brisas Huatulco: Great things and not so great things!

We loved the resort in general as it is not your typical cookie cutter resort. All of the stair had the calf muscles screaming for a few days but by the end of the week they were fine. The beach was very clean and water temperature was warm. The rooms were clean but very dark. The lighting was task lighting at best. Room was spacious and our room 2107 overlooked the ocean. Had to climb down about 15 steps to get to it. Had a daily iguana visitor which was nice. The thing that was less than great [... read more] was the buffet restaurant. It was very hit and miss though we didn’t go hungry. Just need to have low standards. Lots of food was cool/cold with varying quality. The Mexican restaurant overlooked the bay and was a nice place for breakfast. The restaurants open late at 7:00pm for dinner which is late when you have a 4-year old with you. The Mexican restaurant opens at 6:30. The kids club didn’t look great so we never used it.

Barcelo Huatulco: Fun and games

Set your alarm to watch the amazing sun rise. Down to grab your towel to claim your spot in an already sea of cranberry towels. Grab a cafe and sweet in lobby. Don't forget your book as you join the crowd forming at guest services to make dinner reservations. Be patient amigos the bar opens at 10. These are the games they don't tell you about. Not FUN. If you can fix these issues I will definitely be back

Holiday Inn Huatulco: Fantastic experience

The hotel was fantastic - friendly and helpful staff, good service, quality food, cleanliness. Room was clean and stocked at all times and regularly. Pool area was lovely and kept clean and organized (although sometimes crowded). I never wanted or needed anything that I didn't receive quickly and efficiently. I really enjoyed this experience.

Secrets Huatulco: EXCELENTE

Secrets HUATULCO... to start the resort is in one word amazing....it fit my wife and I to a tee. The food was fantastic,the grounds were spotless the staff were very friendly very helpful and always smiling. We walked around off resort and felt safe everywhere we went. We liked it so much we plan on returning next year. We fell in love with HUATULCO.

La Isla Huatulco: Dont pay full price

The hotel itself and beach club looked really nice but overall poorly managed. Room key rarely worked - We were locked out of our room 3 times for an hour each time. Running out of food and alcohol was the norm at this all inclusive. The location was great, close to town. Was great to have bikes (when the tires werent flat) staff was great at hotel. Beach club not so much. Usual wait for a drink was 30 mins and it wasnt busy. Food took an hour and a half and still forgot my daughters order.  [... read more]Cant swim at beach club beach due to undertow. so we basically used the hotel as a base from which to explore the towns and bays nearby. Luckily we did get a great deal on the price. Overall i would go back to huatulco again but just not to this hotel.

Dreams Huatulco: Tangolunda, Huatulco is heaven.

The hotel is a short 20 minute ride from the airport. It is clean, comfortable and well run with friendly staff. Rooms are spacious and kept clean by their courteous staff. Food is excellent starting with the ocean side buffet. The 5 specialty restaurants do not require reservations...first come, first served. There are 6 pools situated around the property. The ocean is just steps away from the large infinity pool. The property has many shady spots for those wishing to escape the sun. Every day  [... read more]was sunny and hot. The only complaint was that the hotel does not adhere to requests made during the initial reservation process. Requested highest floor with partial ocean view (paid upgrade), received second floor, ocean mostly obscured. Requested king size bed, received two double beds. Requested banner on door acknowledging return guest, not provided, despite many such banners being displayed on room doors. Hotel claims the request was never received.

Camino Real Zaashila: Relaxing Vacation

Quiet, boutique hotel . Very laid back, no bracelets, no dress code. Only annoying thing was having to sign receipt for everything you ordered for meals and drink. Facilities are a little run down, but the beauty and charm of the grounds makes up for it. Staff is friendly, but a little overworked, they struggle to keep up when things get busy. Dinner a la carte restaurants are nothing special. Breakfast buffet was decent. Weather is always A++ in Huatulco, that's why its my favourite vacation spot, not to mention the natural surroundings and safety of the area. I don't swim in pools, but the pool at this resort was very nice. Ocean swimming is only for confident swimmers because the incline get steep very quickly. Once you get past the breaker waves, the swimming is awesome. Warm, clean ocean with little debris.

Las Brisas Huatulco: Such A Wonderful Resort!!

This hotel was all that we had expected from reading all previous great reviews. Very clean resort, we had a junior suite which was awesome. All of the Al La Cartes were awesome as was the buffet. Loved Las Brisas Huatulco. I was totally impressed by the towns recycling program. Everywhere you looked there were bins for recycling and bins for garbage. Camino Real Zaashila: Peace and Quiet

We have just returned from a one week stay at the Camino Real Zaashila. What a beautiful resort. Small and quaint, beautiful beach and pool and gorgeous grounds. Great local food: buffet breakfasts, à la carte lunches and dinners. The beach room views are great - lots of stairs though! Extremely clean. No entertainment, no music at pool or beach which is what we loved the most. We would go back.

Barcelo Huatulco: Great resort

Hotel is small and a little dated but very clean. Staff are very friendly. Location is beautiful. The resort is very quiet with few activities but relaxing. Food was good and the drinks were great. Service on the beach and around the pool was fast and frequent. For the price point, it is definitely the best bang for the buck.

Holiday Inn Huatulco: Great location resort

Staying at the Holiday Inn all Inclusive resort in Huatulco ( Santa Cruze) was great!....i’ve Been to Huatulco many times and this was the first for the Holiday Inn. We enjoyed the location, all hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The Sun Wing representatives were great! They were very helpful in providing restaurant suggestion, never pressured to purchase tours and they were informative as tour what the tours had to offer. This hotel was small, but perfect for us. We felt like family. [... read more] The food was tasty, the rooms and facility very clean.the beach was a 5 minute walk from the hotel. What I likes most was the freedom to step outside and walk around in area that had many local artisan work. Everything was in close proximity. I would stay here again.

Isla Natura Beach: NOT 4 STARS!

Isla Natura Resort is quiet and beautiful. But there are some aspects of this place that made me very leery of how resort ratings are awarded/done. My family and I have been going to Mexico for >10 years for our annual winter vacation. I look at star ratings when I shop for the all-inclusive resort. This one really missed the mark. I would say that this is a weak 3 stars; DEFINITELY NOT 4 stars! So let's break down the biggies for me. Beach - Main - picturesque, small but not overly populated, [... read more] rocky, steeply dips from shallow to deep, not for weak swimmers. Second - smaller, more rocks, swimming not recommended. Service - Prepare to serve yourself or practice patience+++. The staff tries but language barrier and lack of staffing may have played a big part. Food - Not much variety, same old everyday. I think my husband and son (who are not picky eaters) lived on cereal and yogurt for breakfast; hamburger/hotdog for lunch. Dinner is a la carte but the loooong wait for food and 'weight watchers' portions (typically fish/meat with some sauce and steam veggies) I deemed ridiculous. But, this is the deal breaker for me, we repeatedly observed unsanitary practices (Recycling unused bread from another table, using used napkins to clean the table, cleaning serving plates by just wiping them, etc.)! Implication of serious health risk - Not cool Isla Natura! ZERO Star!!! Activities - ecological tour guide does not speak English, we did use the kayak x 2 days but night entertainment of 1 singer 3 x a week was very sad!!! We mostly used our ipad for entertainment but wifi only works in lobby. Potential is there but we will not recommend and we will not go back to this resort.

Las Brisas Huatulco: Wonderful vacation spot

Friendly staff, beautiful grounds, excellent food selection, wonderful beaches, well appointed accommodation, fantastic gym and tennis courts, great entertainment. Close to airport, safe and interesting town close by. Definitely will return again.

Las Brisas Huatulco: Excellent Tongolunda Bay Resort

We really enjoyed our two weeks at Las Brisas. The highlight for us was the protected beach with the excellent snorkeling just yards from the shore and the excellent January weather. The 5 alacarte dinner restaurants and two breakfast and lunch buffets provided a variety of food choices and the service staff were excellent. The customer service staff throughout the resort were friendly and well trained. Our room was dated but very clean. The bar fridge was stocked with water, beer cok [... read more]e and pepsi. Our king sized bed was very comfortable and the air conditioning was very good. Brighter lighting in the bathroom is recommended but the shower,sink, and mirrors and size are excellent. We were surprised that our deluxe room did not have a balcony to enjoy our partial water view. The resort was built on a steep slope. Walking up the numerous steps was a challenge but the shuttles are numerous and they will take you throughout this very large resort. We felt safe here as the property is gated and our room had a wall safe to protect our valuables. If you are looking for a hotel on Tangolunda Bay this one provides the best value.

Las Brisas Huatulco: Great time

We had a great time for 2 weeks at Las Brisas. Hotel was great, service good, pools and beaches were great. It seems big but nicely spread out and easy to get around. Staff was friendly. Lots to do. Nice to have private beaches and always lots of loungers.

Secrets Huatulco: Fantastic views

The resort was very clean and well maintained. The views were amazing from all parts of the resort. Trying to get a pool chair was a challenge. The staff were friendly and helpful. We purchased the privilege club and it was a waste of money, We saw absolutely no advantages. The weather was perfect everyday.

Secrets Huatulco: Best all inclusive ever!

The hotel was exactly as advertised. Great food, top shelf drinks, super comfortable beds and a wonderful attentive staff. The infinity pools were the right depth for doing water aerobics and "walking with drinks"!!! The beach is a bit iffy but the little bay a few metres away, down a short pathway was lovely and you could watch the local fishermen. We will definitely go back next year perhaps for 2 weeks!

Dreams Huatulco: Love this resort! We'll be back.

Beautiful beach, good food, clean facilities, and excellent service. Weather was fabulous every day. Super quiet resort that's good for older adults and families. Would be boring for party crowd. The staff are super accommodating. Only complaint was lack of shaded chairs at pool and beach. Too hot for full sun and we love heat. People were getting up at 6 am to save chairs and then never show up. We really enjoyed our vacay and wished we were there longer.

Camino Real Zaashila: Beautiful, quiet, secluded resort

One of the most beautiful, comfortable, and peaceful resorts I've stayed at. Close to nearby towns, more than adequate snorkelling right off the (not private but) very secluded beach. Generous drinks!

Camino Real Zaashila: Perfect Escape !!

We found this hotel just before booking a trip to the Mayan Riviera and were instantly intrigued by its size and overall aesthetic - and thankfully it ended up being exactly what we wanted. This hotel is small compared to most tropical resorts particularly those built nowadays which was perfect ! Our group consisted of my girlfriend and I (both under 30) and my over 75 year old father. The hotel is stunning, the buildings and grounds are beautiful and well maintained - and reminded us of the [... read more] Greek Islands - While the rooms could be considered "outdated" like in some reviews because the furniture wasn't brand new - but for us, we spent minimal time in the room anyways. The bed was extremely comfortable, the maid service was on point and our room worked perfectly for our "base camp". Because the resort is so small all the rooms are within close proximity to the ocean, pool, restaurants and bars which was lovely. The Beach is absolutely stunning and the vibe between other guests very much ensures that no one is blaring terrible music from the Bose a couple palapas downwind (Huge Positive in Our minds !) The Bar service is equally as exemplary - Premium Booze - Canned Beers that can be delivered right to your chair in a bucket of ice very easily by there wonderful staff. The restaurants are all A La Carte with the exception of the breakfast buffet (SideNote - The gentlemen who cooks the omelets, pancakes and quesadillas is a champ and should win the award for best flattop cook in the history of all inclusive hotels) The food overall is very good - but can get a little repetitive after a full week - so don't be lazy and take the $5 cab ride into La Crucecita and enjoy of the wonderful and affordable dining options that the town has to offer ! Or if not, and your lazy order room service which is also on point and available 24 hours a day to your door. While we are not lazy, we did however take advantage of some late night ice cream and cheesecake room service and some breakfast in bed that was phenomenal. The Beach is stunning, the pool is proper if pools are your thing (they are not ours) The Gym is lets say slightly outdated, but there is a bench, weights, a couple treadmills and its all functional The grounds are stunning and bursting with tonnes of birds, iguanas Staff were all very very lovely, sweet and hardworking This is NOT a party hotel Free Wifi in the Lobby and sometimes in other areas in the resort $5 Cab ride to town is a must Quick & Easy transport from the Airport to the hotel (15 minutes) Good Food - Great Alcohol Selection As noted in other reviews the hotel is a combination of All Inclusive guests (mostly Canadian) and Regular guests who seem to be largely from South America - In case you care. Overall none of our group has any major concerns and really enjoyed our stay at the Camino Real - and would definitely visit again and recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a relaxing week in absolute Mexican paradise !
