Great resort

This hotel is family friendly, with a nice shallow area in their pool for young children and a short trolley ride to their water park area. It's perfectly located near the beach and has wonderful options for a la carte and buffet meals. If you get bored of the ones on the resort there are many to choose from elsewhere on the other Bahia resorts. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The only thing to keep in mind is if you are looking to take advantage of the a la carte options for dinne [... read more]r, you should book well in advance. A suggestion would be to book on your first day for the rest of the week, in order to ensure you get a table at a convenient time.

Amazing resort, staff and beach!

Only negative was the timeshare sales team. Otherwise, the resort (Esmeralda) was beautiful and the closest unit to the beach. The staff was very friendly and food was great. I would definitely return to this resort again!

Definitely a 4.5 Star

Excellent facilities.service & ambiance.....I suffer from mobility issues & our little corner of the resort had everything I could want.....Pool, Restaurant, Pool Bar & a lovely room.....es Excelente !!!

Loved this resort

This is a superior resort with very good service and delicious food. We especially enjoyed dining in the outside section of one of the buffet dining rooms in the evening. Great friendly service. They also informed guests around the pool by leaving a paper on each chair at night that they cannot install their towels at the crack of dawn to reserve their chairs around the pool for an indefinite period of time. So everyone could enjoy the pool area and its chairs appropriately. We appreciated this  [... read more]approach to a very common frustrating problem at most other resorts.

Amazing resort

What to say but Great, personnel, food, beach, we where there for 2 weeks in April 2014 and we will return in August. The resort is big, get a map this will help. Thanks to our waiters they are all great. We loved Esmeralda.

Great resort

My friend and I, both in our 30's, stayed at the Esmeralda and it was an awesome time. The shuttle comes often, the rooms were always clean and very large, the food was amazing and the sports bar and disco were always a great time. I would recommend this resort to anyone.

A must see 5 star resort

The compound is big, but with all you could ask for in a holiday get away. We found the Esmeralda to be THE resort to go to for a couple or a family. The food, drink, rooms, beach, pools, entertainment were all top notch. There was nothing to complain about ( oh yeah it was hot and sunny ;-) , no snow here ). We didn't even have any mosquito or sand flea bites as with our other Caribbean trips, so go and enjoy this location as it was well worth the money spent.

Luxury at every turn, pure relaxation

Loved our beautiful large spotless room, all public areas are fresh and relaxing, the resort lends itself to happy gathering of patrons, easy quick transport throughout the resort, gorgeous beach and lively pool areas, food was very good, plentiful, the staff are quiet, friendly, quick to smile, airport is casual, pick this resort if you want rest, sun, totally satisfied!

Beautiful but crowded!

Hotel was beautiful and food was good. Service was hit or miss - sometimes excellent, sometimes disinterested. It was a much more lively and busy place than I expected - beach was like walking down 5th avenue in NYC - beautiful but swarms of people! People were having a great time - but it was just difficult to find some peace and quiet. Just wasn't what we were looking for but lots if people would love it.

Awesome!

Great time, clean room friendly staff. Close to the excursions, beautiful beach. Would recommend and would live to come back!! Best girls trip ever!!!!!! Get to beach early to get a good seat as they go quickly

Excellent resort!

Huge resort with enough space and diversity for everyone! Food was excellent! Tons of pools and great beach! Great service. So much effort put into entertainment, which was excellent! Only complaint are the rooms- the one I stayed in was clean but outdated, with VERY thing walls- I could hear the neighbours' conversations and more... Just embarrassing for both us and them. Overall though I would recommend it because there are a lot of other good things and I had a wonderful time!

Amazing Vacation..Amazing Resort..Amazing Team

My Vacation was for two weeks, I traveled alone, and I felt safe on the resort. Reception and lobby were very welcoming. The room was beautiful with a king size bed sitting area, and a Jacuzzi tub. The house keeping staff was wonderful, and always provided me with extra towels for my long hair. The room was always clean, by the time I went up for lunch. The Pool Bar staff knew my drink after the first day, and when they saw me coming, it was already on the counter for me. Now that’s Great Serv [... read more]ice. The food was tasty and a nice variety. I like that they also provided a good ethnic choice of food at most of the sittings. This vacation for me was for relaxation and the fact that there was not much hop-la and commotion was great. The pool side music was at a good level, the only thing was the pool chairs always seemed to be scarce. I am not a morning person, so if you come out after 7 am the lounge chairs were gone. OH WELL… I guess I need to wake up earlier. The Night Entertainment Team was always Great; and the shows were Amazing. Disco was fun and plenty of room to dance. There was a Carnival Night, which I did not go to, as there was an additional charge for that, I felt it was a bit much to ask for $15.00 USD cover, when I paid quite a bit to stay at the resort. Overall impression was Wonderful, and I will be going back. I would give the Bahia Principe Esmeralda 5 Stars

Awesome resort and friendly staff

Everything was perfect! Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The food was was good, lots of choices and it was nice and fresh! The room service was good! The beach was clean. The entertainment was really fun for the kids and adults!!! Best trip I had!!

Amazing resort

Except for the fact that an accessible room was not available for the first two days of our holiday the resort was one of the finest I have ever had the honour of staying in. The food, fabulous, the staff, most courteous, the accommodations excellent.

Wonderful Resort

We just loved the Esmeralda. The service and food was great. The staff were very friendly and could not do enough for you. We loved the location of the Esmeralda it was close to the beach and you after dinner you could walk to the other resorts which was wonderful. Loved the idea of the shopping center in the middle of the resorts. We would go back in a minute.
