Royalton Saint Lucia Resort and Spa: Gorgeous resort, great food, absolutely terrible service

Really a shame for such a magnificent new property. It is like they went out and hired 200-300 people who had never worked a day in the hospitality industry in their lives. Restaurants took up to 2 hours to get main course, in a la carte restaurants we went out to martini bar to get drinks as servers would disappear for 30-45 minute stretches. Ran out of everything including bottled water, so supply chain logistics also challenged. Doors of washrooms in public areas and fir-escape doors to stair [... read more]wells missing handles/hardware not enabling locking in washrooms and not allowing emergency exit in case of fires. Glass panels 3 ' x 6' for patios toppling 1-2 stories and smashing as not properly secured, luckily didn't seriously injure anyone. Management non-responsive, GM would not come out to talk. Front desk staff completely incompetent, took 25 minutes to check in as the only patron at the counter with 6 staff members in attendance. Bracelet system took 4 attempts back and forth to room to be able to open rooms. No availability of coffee in mornings except at buffet which doesn't open early. Once inside buffet, could take up to 20 minutes for a server to get coffee, no ability to just get your own coffee at buffet. Not a relaxing vacation, you go away to kick back and not have to think; here you had to constantly be searching/asking for service. I am very low maintenance and not hard to please, resort and amenities spectacular, food quality once you got it A+, but the service level just killed the ability to enjoy any of it. Very disappointing.

Royalton Saint Lucia Resort and Spa: Beautiful resort

We really liked the resort. Very clean, safe, the service was great, new resort therefore everything was extremely clean, they didn't spare any expensed the decor throughout entire hotel including beach and swimming pool lounge chairs and beds were so comfortable and always available. Resort was quiet empty though, if full we could see a shortage of room in beach because beach area is small.if you like a long beach to walk on this is not the resort for you. Only problem is we both got food poisoning from something we ate so 2 days of our trip were spent in bed sick. While we were there we were told 115 people had gone to medical Centre with food poisoning so something must of gone wrong. Food was very tasty that was the sad part because all was so good accept the getting sick.

BodyHoliday Saint Lucia: Awesome Resort

We will definitely go back to this resort. The service was incredible, the grounds were beautiful, our room was lovely, food was excellent. Lots to do or not do. The long drive from the airport was definitely worth it!

Coconut Bay Resort & Spa: Amazing resort

I would highly recommend going here. Food staff grounds and island are all amazing. Have been south many times and this by far is our favourite. Also a big thanks to Teelah Brown at trip central for all her amazing help with our booking.

Royalton Hideaway Saint Lucia: Needs a lot of fine tuning

This resort needs a lot of work. The grounds were mostly bare, most building were not complete (ie: missing finishes, decor, menu items, etc...). The spa was SUPER expensive. All bar's were shut down by 11PM every night and there was zero adult entertainment at night. The beach is TINY and full of sea earchents and eels. Even worse was the restaurants: we waited a minimum of 1.5 hours every night for our food to come out cold. And last but not least this is not an adults only resort. Will not be back to a Royalton, ever.

Royalton Saint Lucia Resort and Spa: Mixed feelings

Beautiful grounds!!!! Food was ok but my fiancé got food poisoning and it was really awful.. service is slow but to be expected I guess for a new hotel tiny beach too.. we stayed in the basic room and we were happy with it

Rex Papillon: Paradise!

Rex Papillon was an amazing hotel, so much more than expected. The staff go above and beyond, very friendly and professional! Smaller resort which was great, you can get to the beach within 5 minutes from anywhere. The beach was clear and aqua blue, always chairs available. The pool was also great, cleaned every morning, also lots of chairs! Food was fantastic, especially for me being a vegetarian. Even though it's a smaller resort, more vegetarian options than anywhere else I've travelled. Stolen Time Saint Lucia: First Class Service Meets Downtime

This resort is Beautiful. It is Set in a lush setting with a wonderful quiet beach and lots of tucked away spots. Perfect romantic holiday for those looking to disconnect, recharge and enjoy the beauty.

Rex Papillon: Good Value

This was a small but nice resort. I got a great price. $$$$ The staff were friendly, especially Elfrieda in the Sunset Bar. The shower stall is very small, I'm a small person and found it difficult to shower in it. Solution, get wet, turn off shower and then lather and rinse, otherwise there is no room to move around and the soap just falls off of you without getting washed. The knobs are kind of wonky too. I had a hard time getting luke warm water. My curler iron did not work even with [... read more] an adapter. The voltage is 220. When I returned home, it worked. I was told you can rent an adapter at the front desk. The A la Cartes were good. Buffet was small but good. Don't need a lot, because there are only around 100 rooms. Games to play for prizes. I won the Easter Egg contest and won lots of stuff. My husband won the Washer Toss Game and won a small bottle of rum. We went parasailing in front of the resort. I contacted the Tour Office and made arrangements for one hour after the Tour Office contacting them. They picked you up on the beach in the red boat. Pigeon Island was great, climb to both peaks. It was quite the hike!! It is very hot in St. Lucia, bring lots of sun screen, it was 30 + everyday we were there. Beds were super comfy. Air conditioner worked great. If you are doing any excursions, there is a lot of driving up and down mountains!!! But lots of scenery....

Coconut Bay Resort & Spa: Comfortable and casual

Pros: Overall, I found the resort to be comfortable and the vibe to be very casual. Resort staff were very friendly. The beach is great for walks. Walk towards the Surf Shack for a nice morning or evening walk. The view from the room was amazing- well kept gardens and the sea. All the rooms (2nd floor and above) have an ocean view. Lots of lounge space-both on the beach and in the lobby. The resort did not seem crowded, even though it was fully occupied. The room and the resort, in  [... read more]general, was very clean and tidy. Bed were super comfy. The balcony is great. Rooms are cleaned everyday. I found the shower to be small, but adequate. I would prefer a door for the shower, instead of a shower curtain. The drink service was excellent. Cons: Power outages: I was surprised by the power outages!!!! We would have 3-4 power outages per day. It would take 5-10 minutes for the power to come back. Found it annoying, especially at night with young kids around. Take a small torch with you. Food was okay at the resort restaurants. The buffet restaurant definitely needs air conditioning. It was hot and humid and I found it very uncomfortable eating breakfast and lunch at the buffet restaurant due to the heat. The lobby is also not air conditioned. But, there was good cross ventilation and the breeze from the sea helped. Guests had to reserve restaurants physically at the restaurant booking area. The resort has 3 restaurants (Calabash, Silk and Capri) without additional cost, and some were fully booked for two days. The lady at the restaurant booking office informed me that they have 600 guests at the resort and they have space in the 3 restaurants only for 100 guests!!! Guests do have the choice of going to the buffet restaurant for dinner (no booking required). But, I would expect an all inclusive resort to have fine dining restaurants to accommodate all guests. The resort has 2 more options for dining-for which guests would have to pay extra: La Luna and private dining option. The food and service at Calabash and Silk were great. Not too impressed with Capri. Food at the antipasti buffet was cold. That being said, I would definitely consider going back to the resort.

Sandals Halcyon Beach: Beautiful, Tranquil and SpectacularTropical Paradise

The grounds are lush, park like and immaculate. The beach is beautiful and the staff cannot do enough for you. The food is excellent. It was fun to visit the other Sandals properties. If you want to be surrounded by beauty and luxury in a quiet paradise setting then the Halcyon is a great choice.

Coconut Bay Resort & Spa: TOP NOTCH RESORT

ABSOLUTELY EVERYING ABOUT THIS RESORT WAS AMAZING. WE HAVE NO COMPLAINTS WHATSOEVER. FROM THE MOMENT WE ARRIVED WE KNEW THIS RESORT WAS GOING TO BE A PLACE WE WOULD THOROUGHLY ENJOY...AND WE DID. WE ARE ALREADY PLANNING TO GO BACK NEXT YEAR.

Rex Papillon: Classy vacation spot

Very dignified service- seated by hostess for meals in excellent buffet restaurant. Beach grill a little formal with menu service at the table but meant no food litter in the beach. Staff are extremely courteous and always ask how the stay is going. Plastic cups provided for drinks when leaving the lobby. 2 very good a la carte restaurants with authentic fresh food. Our only suggestions are to provide water stations in the lobby and near the pool, and a garbage can in the lobby.

Rex Papillon: Wonderful small resort in beautiful St. Lucia

For my friends and I, this resort met all our needs for an unforgettable vacation. Tasty food made with fresh, local ingredients. Rooms were comfortable with good air conditioning and very comfortable beds. The beach was beautiful, perfect for swimming and walks. Extremely clean in all areas. Easy access to shops in Rodney Bay and the public buses. The staff are what really make the Papillon special.

Royalton Saint Lucia Resort and Spa: 6 star!!!

The staff were amazing, so personable , caring and involved. Played volleyball with us. Pool activities with us . Made some great friendships. Some of staff can even join you for lunch if you invite them. Great way say thanks to them. Its covered by resort if they are with a guest. Buffet is incredible , fresh meat, fish, pasta , ete etc . With a trombone player !!!! Be sure take Pigeon Island 930 am hike --- wear off some that food. Staff take you there -- amazing views of Rodney bay . If too ,much you can get cab back --I did . About 45 minute walk there. Acquafit around 11 each morning - 30 minutes--perfect ! Around pool and beach so much variety of lounges , some umbrellas , some with bed style with coverings. The sunsets -- unreal !!!!!! Would go back for sure !!

Sandals Grande St Lucian: Wonderful Place

We had a wonderful time at the Sandals Grande St. Lucian. The staff everywhere were amazing, particularly the dive staff and Delia at the Italian Restaurant. Everyone was very pleasant and professional and we felt very safe and in good hands on our dives.

Harmony Marina Suites: Very good

Rooms are quaint, very clean. Grounds are very lush with pretty flowers and lots of greenery. Enjoyed the peacefulness and quietness of the resort. Staff were always pleasant and especially enjoyed our many conversations with Sharon at the front desk. Enjoyed our many walks into Rodney Bay and to the beach. If I had one suggestion for the management, I would recommend they make good quality perked coffee available to buy in the restaurant as they would get more guests to eat there in the mor [... read more]ning. We are Canadians and walked every day a fair distance to get our latte.

Harmony Marina Suites: location, location, location

This resort was perfectly situated on Rodney Bay, you could not have asked for a better location. 2 mins to the beach & 2 mins to "town". The staff are lovely and the grounds impeccable, great view of the Bay and mountains. We enjoyed the short walk to the beach and found great places to eat with the locals. Look for Liz on the beach, she has the best homemade Roti's! Only suggestion is to add a microwave to the room.

Windjammer Landing: Wonderful week at the Windjammer!

We stayed at Villa 107 without a plunge pool with the all-inclusive option and found everything to be great! It had a lovely patio where we could enjoy early mornings with coffee or catch the beautiful sunsets before heading out for dinner in the evenings! The interior was very fresh, clean and comfortable. The food was good to very good which we found the Upper Deck to be our favourite. Service was exceptional, nothing seemed to be a bother to anyone! We also enjoyed the breakfast buffet and fish fry at the Dragonfly and lunches at Embers or Jammers. Premium alcohol was included. Lots of watersports are available which we enjoyed kayaking and snorkeling. Entertainment every night as well! We were never bothered by timeshare sales and found the rep to be quite pleasant! We would definitely return to this hotel!!

Secrets St. Lucia Resort and Spa: Everything we hoped for....and more!

We had a fantastic stay at the St James' Club. It was a bit of a drive from the airport, over an hour, but I feel it gave us a greater sense of the Island as a whole. We participated in several of the resorts excursions, which gave us an even greater sense of the 'true' St. Lucia. Everywhere was a bit of a drive, so if you're prone to motion sickness take Gravol as you may need it on the windy roads. There were lots of options for quiet space if you wished: The Choc Bay Cafe was a great gettaway, and they made a great Cafe au Lait, and Irish Coffee. There was a quieter pool hidden away behind the tennis courts with a fantastic restaurant (Plum Tree) which was like a hidden gem. I felt it had the best food of all the restaurants. The nightly entertainment was a fun option, but went on a bit too late for us. Our days were full and we never stayed up past 10 any night. The entertainment went on until 11:00. A bit late for families. The staff was extremely helpful and was always there to help. I would definitely recommend it to friends with children. My son, 9, did not participate in the Kids Club, but guests who used it spoke very highly of it.
