Beautiful and clean resort

Beautiful , high end resort. Pools were large and super clean as were the rooms, public restrooms, restaurants and outdoor areas. The resort is large but there is so much space and so many places to go, that it didn't feel crowded at all. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Newer Nice Resort

Hotel is fairly new so very clean and beautiful. Food was better than most in Cuba. Room was spacious although we had to change the next day after we arrived as they gave us one bed for two single women. Infinity pool was my favorite. Servers in bars and restaurant were very friendly and accommodating. Front desk staff were sometimes curt and not overly friendly. Wifi access was hit or miss. Beach area limited but very nice. Only went to the theatre once as we found the acoustics too loud. A La Carte restaurants were very good. Transat rep was very friendly and helpful.

Thoroughly enjoyed everything about this resort

The staff were fantastic, the food was GREAT - fresh, inviting, lots of selection - the room was clean and well kept. The pools & ocean beach were all I could hope for EXCEPT, the deck chairs were horrible!! Ratan with no cushion, almost impossible to get on or off of & very uncomfortable. Much better chairs at ocean beach. The service was topnotch. Shortage of room towels & face cloths but staff did the best they could to accommodate.

Wonderful Vacation

We had an amazing time! The beaches were beautiful, white sand and warm water. The grounds were confusing at first, but after your first day you tend to know where to find everything. We stayed in building five and really enjoyed that location. Our shower had flooding issues the first few days, but after we made a call it was soon fixed. The staff was excellent! Everyone was very friendly and accommodating. The only negative was that the check-in process was slow. This had less to do with the staff members service and more to do with the fact that they were understaffed. I always hear how terrible food is in Cuba, however during our stay I was very impressed. Every day I had tons of options for things to eat (and I'm a picky eater). My partner had a fresh omelette made for him every morning and I had fresh pasta made for me multiple nights. We enjoyed the Caribbean a la cart as well, but didn't try any of the others. We did both the Havana tour and the boat tour and enjoyed both. We had our Transat rep set us up with private tours which we felt was worth the extra money. Overall we had an excellent vacation and would recommend this resort to friends.

Beaches amazing

Food was okay but not great. Buffet was very inconsistent. Room nice. Shortage of towels one day. Hung dirty ones back up. Ran out of beer one night at the 24 hour disco bar. Construction going on at the infinity bar so was loud.

Perfect Resort

We travelled to Ocean Vista Azul April 1-8/2016 and had a perfect week of sunshine. This was my first time to Cuba but certainly will not be my last. We loved everything about this resort, staff were so friendly and accommodating, hotel was modern and clean. The view from the Lobby looking out to the infinity pool towards the ocean was spectacular! We ate at all three of the a la carte restaurants and all were good, especially enjoyed the soup at the Caribbean restaurant. Resort was a short taxi ride into Varadero, really enjoyed how safe it was to leave the Resort and walk about the town. We also enjoyed our excursion into Havana, we hired a private driver and guide rather than the bus excursion from the Resort, and it was well worth it! Awesome experience. The beaches were absolutely amazing as well..I can't think of anything bad to say about the Resort or our whole week in Cuba and I could go on and on about all the great things but will just say we can't wait to go back to this Resort!!

Great resort with lots of potential

The resort itself is absolutely beautiful, nestled between two stunning beaches. The resort setting is small and everything is easily accessible. Animation and bar staff work tirelessly and always put a smile on guests faces. Being a new resort there are still kinks that need to be worked out. Front desk customer service definitely needs improvement. The food was good, however very repetitive.

Awesome view

the resort was spotless, the staff was friendly and helpful,the ocean and veiw was gorgeous,the room was a good size and like new, the infinity pool was perfect.i would recommend this place to anyone.

Fantastic resort

Pool bar and pool entertainment staff friendly and service outstanding. Buffet food options at breakfast and lunch excellent and tasty. Unable to get in at a la carte restaurants - no reservations taken and lineups long. Not enough umbrella stands/umbrellas by pool. General lack of room and beach towels noted. More shade on beaches would be another recommendation. Check in could be better organised by hotel reception.

Wonderful Resort..Staff and Experience.

Everything went smoothly.. yes there is always a few things that can go wrong.. but its what you make of it.. Stop complaining and get on the beach.. service was great.. our maid was amazing.. no shortage of anything.... only thing I didn't like was the flies that seemed to get into the buffet ..but that's because people didn't close the door when they walked in.

Clean, modern, great food, amazing staff!!!

Beautiful grounds, beautiful people. The hotel views of the infinity pool with the ocean as a back drop was breathtaking. People were accommodating, happy and friendly. Food was tasty, fresh and delicious. It's a newer hotel so some things are in the works and nèd to be developed more. Such as the 25hr beach bar and beach area. Shortage on umbrella stands for the pool. Need shade as the trees are not yet mature and give little shade. Difficult to get into the restaurants but the buffet was deli [... read more]sious. Would stay there again.

Great resirt

Hotel has great potential of becoming a 5, the food is good for been Cuba. Rooms are amazing, the beach is a little far to walk but the water is blue turquoise bestuful. Staff is amazing. I would recommend to anyone.

Wonderful vacation!

Just came back from a wonderful vacation at the Ocean Vista Azul. The resort is beautiful, for the most part staff was great, the food was good and the beach was amazing. Would not hesitate to return.

Fantastic resort !!

We were at Ocean Vista Azul from Mar 30 -Apr 6 and it was all great from room, food, beach, everything was terrific and yes we will be visiting this resort again. All the staff was great and willing to help if we needed anything. Loved this resort.

Beautiful

The resort was great. They need more shade, hard to find any. The food was very good for Cuba, they could do better desserts. There was a nice atmosphere about the place. Very clean, I would like to go back!

Beautiful resort!

As this was my first visit to Cuba and an all inclusive resort, I really had no idea what to expect. However any expectations that I did have we met AND exceeded! I was warned that the food in Cuba could be "iffy", but I found it great! I was assigned a beautiful room overlooking the ocean and that was my 'zen' get away when I needed a time out from the week-long party! I would definitely recommend this resort!

Fantastic from Beginning to End

We have just returned from a truly amazing week at the lovely, new Ocean Vista Azul and I can't say enough good things. Sarah Jean gave us excellent advice and we were very happy with the resort she recommended. First, the facility is new and everything is so fresh and clean. The furniture is not opulent but everything is modern and sleek. There are two lovely beaches to chose from...one is quiet and suited to relaxation. The other is close to the beach bar/disco so it gets a bit more crowded an [... read more]d lively. We had great success at the a la carte restaurants. In particular, the Caribbean restaurant was amazing and the service was exceptional. It was different that you must make reservations on the night, rather than in advance but we made it work. There was plenty to choose from at the buffet and even with a vegetarian in our group, we all managed to find something reasonably good to eat. We were three old friends, travelling for relaxation and time together. This resort delivered everything we were looking for and then some!

Great trip and beautiful resort.

Very nice hotel still working out some wrinkles since they are so new. Would have been a 5 star in my books except there is not enough shade and they need to really change the buffet a little more. Outside of that, fantastic pool and the staff was amazing with great entertainment daily and at night.

Amazing place

Resort was perfect, staff, food and drinks are great. Beach is beautiful. Only negative is no shade on the left beach but bring the umbrella from your room and attach to your beach chair. The view of the rock cliffs is amazing when swimming in the warm turquoise waters. The layout of the resort is great and the large pool is beautiful.

Extravagant Resort

Our stay at the Ocean Vista Azul was amazing, with the enjoyment of all the amenities. The staff always went above and beyond there quest from the maids, cleaning staff, chefs, bartenders and the entertainment organizers. There is a need for additional front desk staffing as it took us more than an hour to book in with only two at the counter. The entertainment was very talented it was like being at a Vegas show (excellent enjoyment). Being there within there six month opening they still have so [... read more]me growing to do eg, more shade umbrellas and pool towels needed and safety railings at some of the pool stairs. Our travel agent Amanda N from Tripcentral really made booking this trip worthwhile and very informative to all our questions. A trip well enjoyed by my wife and myself Highly recommend this resort
