We loved this hotel. It is newer and very clean. All the staff are very nice. The rooms were beautiful and cold. The food was amazing and the a la carte restaurants were all good. The beach was the softest I have ever seen with lots of shade and sun. The pools were fun and the entertainment games were different each day. The night entertainment was the best I have ever seen ( you have to go just for the RIU party - OMG ). The waterslides were a nice change for something different. Best resort I [... read more]have been too so far. I will be back.

Haven Riviera Cancun: PHENOMENAL
Excellent customer service everywhere in the resort, nice and modern rooms, cleaning service was perfect. Food was good but can be better, the variety of food in buffet can be increased. The round pool was the best pool we ever had in any resorts before. Overall experience was perfect.

Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun: Definitely not 5 star hotel
First off, this is the second Royalton hotel we’ve stay in and we know the quality that Royalton offers. Unfortunately, this hotel fell short of that expectation.
The workers are friendly, servers are great! The issue is the hotel smells like sewage in a lot of sections. The furniture and doors of the rooms have water damage from so much cleaning. The smell of mould hits you when you walk into the room. The buffet could improve specially on Mexican night.
Caribbean restaurant and sports bar [... read more]didn’t have AC so you’re sweating your face off!
On a good note the beach was amazing the week that we were there Sept 22-29/23

Riu Latino: Beautiful Ocean
Best part was the ocean!
Ocean was clean. Minimal to no seaweed made for lots of swimming! Long shoreline in either direction was ideal for long walks.
Pools were nice and but only swam in 3/5. Water slides were a blast!

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Unbelievable Resort
We were at the resort the week of Sept 23-30.
This was by far the best resort we have ever visited and we generally visit 2-3 properties per year.
The food at the buffet was absolutely incredible.
The a la carte dinners and fine dining were the equivalent of eating at fine dining restaurants here in Canada. The food was absolutely fantastic and the service matched.
The Eden pool was so nice and warm and the drinks were top notch compared to most resorts.
Room in Eden was extr[... read more]emely spacious and clean and having a jacuzzi on the patio was an added bonus.
We didn’t do the privilege but truly didn’t need it as the resort was not crazy busy.
If there was anything we would fix about the resort it would be the following to make it absolutely perfect.
The service at the buffet for breakfast was pretty bad. We would have to walk around to find a server to get coffee as no one would come to our table.
They only operated 1 trolley cart all week from the beach to the Lobby and staying at the Eden wing made for a lot of walking as we would wait 15-30 mins for the trolly to show up only to find it was full and have to end up walking anyways.
The Sunwing Vacations Reps Juan Carlos & Antonio were the rudest most unhelpful men we have ever met in our lives. We went to find out the departure time and they would not help us at all. Told us to come back later and we’re rude and ignorant about it. It took me 3 minutes to get this information on the sunwing app after walking away from them. I then went back to get their names so I could report it to Sunwing and they fabricated a story that I called them Assholes to the Air Transat Reps and that they were going to report me 😂. They should both be removed from this hotel and do not belong in the vacation industry. We have travelled with Sunwing multiple times for years and would never travel to Mexico with them again after this experience.
The resort more then made up for those 2 items and did not make them an issue that had any impact on our trip.
This is 100% a 5 âï¸ resort and one that we will definitely be coming back to and recommending to family and friends.
My wife and I both celebrated our birthdays on this trip and the staff went above and beyond to make it memorable.

Barcelo Maya Palace: Disappointing
We were a family of 6 travelling to BARCELO Mayan Palace. Your Agent suggested we upgrade to The Palace as it would be well worth it. Last year we stayed at The Colonial.
Anyway, our rooms were lovely and spacious although the food was absolutely horrible. Poor selection, some stale food like the Truos and flies sitting on some of the fruit. Service was really bad. We had to pile our plates up as they weren't taken away quickly. The Restaurant barely had anyone in them. So much do that Staff we[... read more]re standing together with no people to wait on.
We decided to try the Colonial.Restaurant that was so good last year. Again, poor everything. The ice cream in all places was runny and more like liquid.
To he honest, we were so ready to come home and get some good HOT food!!
We will not go back again and disappointed we had been encouraged to book this property

Riu Dunamar: Fantastic resort
Just returned, this resort is fabulous. Food was delicious, service excellent, the resort itself is very well taken care of and clean. The beach is beautiful. We did not spend any time at the pools so I can't speak for them. I would definitely go back at the same time, the resort was not busy and was mostly families.

Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Would not go back!!
We have been to The Royal Decameron 5 times and this past experience will not make us go back there again. We have always kept an open mind when travelling to Mexico (ie: food, drinks, cleanliness, pools, spa and service) Royal Decameron was lacking all of these factors!
Let’s start with the positives: 1) The transfer from the airport was excellent and very efficient 2) unfortunately that was all the positives.
Now let’s get to the “needs improvementsâ€:
The food: although we didn’t[... read more] starve the food was less than appetizing. We found ourselves dining at restaurants outside of the resort. The food was “recycled†what the guests didn’t eat for dinner was “recreated†for breakfast, then lunch then round 2 for another dinner. Heaven forbid you wanted to take a pastry out of the restaurant to have with your coffee….the guard at the door quickly reminds you of the strict policy.
The drinks: Let’s just say we drank more water than alcohol! The drinks were a) watered down b) inconsistent c) unavailable d) ridiculously sweet or e)all of the above.
The service: What service?? At The Royal Decameron you don’t matter. They could take ya or leave ya! Not hospitable, not friendly and definitely not a priority!
The cleanliness: The grounds used to be impeccable…not this time! There was garbage, used cups, uncut grass, hundreds of dead bugs and cigarette butts everywhere. Our gecko friends felt free to come and go from our room because there is no seal around the doors. A complete renovation of the furniture, decor, painting and plumbing is recommended before someone gets hurt. Hard beds, and squished pillows made for sleepless nights.
The pools: although very warm, they were disgusting! All of them had sludgy water with no sense of urgency to clean them.
The spa: the massage itself was actually quite nice but they were not set up to let us use the amenities. The “waterfall†was
not turned on, the sauna was cold and there was more humidity outside than in the steam room.
Like I said, we are pretty easy going travellers and we have never wanted to leave a resort so bad as we did during our recent stay at The Royal Decameron. The sad part is, with the price of travelling these days we paid more then we ever had to stay there. LESSON LEARNED! Such a shame!!

El Dorado Seaside Palms: Wasn't as what was thought
Started by us not having a ride from the airport to the resort. Got there and it was pretty good for setting, for weddings, honeymoons and anniversaries. Not what we went there for but was alright! The staff was all over the map though... the booking staff was straight lying about proper times for dinners. The food was hit or miss. I enjoyed having a swim out pool, with bar, from the floor rooms, and the rooms where phenomenal.
The people on the phone, or in the 'help' desks where terrible on h[... read more]elp, unless you know spanish. The hotel had recently been bought out from another company, which made it not in full operation.
Otherwise the hotel grounds itself was amazing and very well cleaned , they had random stuff happen at night ( saxophone was a plus) beach was great
We went to the host the day before to make sure we had a bus ride to the airport, they told us they will have staff come and pick us up at 7 with luggage straight to travel bus
In the am we went to the front around 645, just to be sure and the front desk staff told us it left at 630 am every morning. So the host staff do not know how to communicate one bit and we had to call another cab for the airport. Even when I broke out in hives I asked for some dry oatmeal, they said it will be ordered, yet they never did. I personally told the food delivery hours later for some and they easily brought it.
Either way we did meet some great people and had fun, even with the skunks
4.5 star, not 5

Riu Tequila: Great resort
The Tequila is a beautiful resort, with excellent staff always willing to serve you with a smile. The a la carte restaurants offers delicious food between the Steak house and Italian. Don't be shy to request anything you want and they will try thier best to accommodate you.
Great resort.
PROS:
Liked the attitude of people running the place. Everyone, from reception to housekeeping, were very accommodating, very polite and did their best to try to make you comfortable.
The grounds appeared to be well taken care of. Not too much lush but plenty to make view pretty. I noticed constant attention to details for hotel upkeep ( cleaning, ornamenting, repainting, etc.)
Rooms were comfortable and clean though, some of them, like our first room (we were given new one later) needed [... read more]some new furniture pieces, such as the sofa couch which looked so old, it appeared dirty and overused. Also, and as it is expected due to most usage, the washrooms on both rooms we were in had some faulty issues such as leakage or doors not closing properly. The decor of the rooms was practical, to the point, clean-looking and thus, pretty.
Some rooms have stunning view of either the ocean or the lagoon, especially if you are given room above 2nd or 3rd floors.
We had an issue with an elevator which was immediately taken care of and the hotel staff tried in all ways possible to compensate for such issue. They were very responsive and attentive to our needs.
The food was superb! The dining space always looked impeccable and tidy. The attention, very good. Never upset stomach issues like in our previous stays in different huge 5 star hotels in that same area. It would appear that the fact Oleo is a much smaller site, its staff do actually invest more time in looking after their guests as best as possible. Issues or concerns brought up by guests are, therefore, taken and corrected in a timely fashion.
CONS:
Travelers are already EXHAUSTED by the time they get to Oleo Reception, yet, they are made to go through x2 or x3 different people right at Reception and spend 40 minutes or more of questioning guests to the point of making them regret their decision to be there in the first place. The idea is to push you to attend a breakfast session to listen to what is no longer called SHARES, but something else, advising you it's not the same but,....it is. Most people will agree to go to these types of sessions as they also promote a discount on area tours such as the cenotes, Xcaret, etc. BTW, this is not specific or exclusive of Oleo Resort. Mexico is known for these type of vacation sales promotions.
Tours are much more expensive than previous to the pandemic if you want to get them at the hotel.

Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya: Enjoy our stay
We had a nice stay at Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya. Food was good at the buffets. We had three A la Cartes (steak, Brazilian, Med.) Steak being our favourite but all was good. Room was excellent, clean, A/C working and beds very comfortable. Service was friendly & good. Pools are good and clean. Lazy river ride good. Dolphin show good and free.

We stayed at this resort from September second to September ninth and we had an amazing time. Hotel is very nice, clean, people are very friendly and welcoming. Didn’t have any issues with checking in. Food is excellent, always fresh and delicious. Beach is not the best but we walked to the right and there was nice clear water and we could swim. Riu Latino: Not a 5 star hotel
This hotel is new and therefore very clean. The night shows are mediocre and sometimes no show whatsoever.
The food is same for lunch and dinner .
There is nothing to do in the evenings.
The beach is far from the hotel and the path to the beach should be much longer.
