Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: One of a kind resort

Sian Kaan is very quiet and beautiful. Well manicured, luxuriant lawn. The food is healthy and taste great. The staff is very friendly. We will definitely return to this amazing resort. Judy Donaldson come through again for us. She worked relentlessly to accommodate all our request.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Wonderful Resort

Enjoyed our stay. Wonderful friendly staff. Food at a la cart restaurants was fantastic!! We had access to other resorts and went to them for meals, beaches and entertainment. Enjoyed the Michael Jackson show and saw it twice. The theatre at Akumal was a perfect venue and sound system etc. was top notch. Show at Sian Ka'an was terrible. Poor acoustics, no integrated video support and people were walking out. (Show at Akumal was standing room only). The grounds at Sian Ka'an were beautiful a [... read more]nd staff were constantly sweeping, and caring for the gardens. The room: We upgraded to a Junior Penthouse suite. Large area but painted all white and felt like a hospital ward. No colour and no decor. Expected a Mexican motif. Roof top patio was very dated and drab. Hot tub was difficult to get in and out of. Pillars were rusted. Our first hot tub was a disaster. Had to call front desk as there were ants all over the outside of the tub and crawling on walls and floor. A maid was sent up with a tin of bug spray which she emptied. The ants were killed on contact. Our mood was also killed!! This area was washed down the next day but still had dead ants visible. In Closing: If we return we would NOT stay at Sian Ka'an. We would stay at Akumal. Beautiful beaches. Great entertainment. Great restaurants.

I connot find anything negative about this place. We had a great time and the staf members were very welcoming. Very obliging! We create beautiful memories. The room were very clean and we had a safe in our room.

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Excellent resort

The grounds were immaculate as well as the bathrooms in the luxury section. The buffets were plentiful with many choices and selections. The staff were very pleasant and welcoming. There was a great selection of entertainment each night.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Second time and still beutiful

Traveled Jan 28th 2018 for 7 days, exceptional service, great beach, excellent food and drinks, only reason i would not return is the resort has grown in the past 5 years and is very busy, but the biggest reason is the staff hounding us to buy in a time share, i always wondered what happen to all the sleezy used car salesmen, well there all in punta cana selling time shares!!! big turn off!!

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: good resort but bad management and bad customer service

Not what I expected ,bad management and rude employee but had problem booking the a la carte dinners , we got there Sunday Jan 28 so we went the next day at 11am to book the a la carte then the employee at the Golden lobby was rude and only booked one dinner feb3 and told us the rest of the week no availability , after complaining to the manager , she offered us another dinner at the French restaurant Tuesday and that’s it , the bus to transfer the tourist have no seat belts and they won†[... read more]™t care to make sure atleast the kids sitting in safe seat . People at the were doing braid and selling stuff and my 5 years old daughter want braid so I got one of the girls that working on the beach to do it for her and then the girl kept asking my daughter to be in the water and the waves hitting her and the security guard kept coming and ask her to be in the water meanwhile another woman that was doing same thing was standing joking and talking with the security guard and then her customer was allowed to stand on the beach so I asked , why you in the water and the other woman standing at the beach , does she work for the resort , she said no we all the same but I’m not making enough money to give the security guard a cut at the end of the day , this is cruel and unsafe for tourist . No wifi at all not even at the lobby , they pretend to do some share happiness and they were telling everyone free WiFi then they Asked me to log to Facebook so I did the girl went to their page and gave the resort 5 stars and sure enough 30 min and no more WiFi This resort is nice but too bad , bad management and bad customer service so no I won’t recommend it to anyone .

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Amazing Holiday

Wonderful holiday, the resort offers so much, the food is excellent in the buffet and the individual restaurants. The rooms attractive with plenty of space, bathrooms great jacuzzi bath as well as a full independent shower. The service outstanding in every department, transport around the resort could not be easier. Pool area has plenty of loungers and good entertainment. Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Nice Resort

The resort was beautiful and we always felt safe. Staff were friendly with the exception of a couple of people at the front desk when we requested a room change. We were a group of 4 on a girls trip. 2 rooms were booked and they placed us in separate building despite our request at checkin. We also requested each room to have 2 beds and one of the rooms only had 1 bed. There excuse was it’s only a request and there are no guarantees. Other then that beautiful resort and incredibly clean.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: 5 star all around

Had an awsome time. Staff were amazing. Grounds were exceptionally clean. Food was abundant and very good. Our server by the pool Zolita was the best I've seen. Santo and the entertainment group made our vacation fun and entertaining. I would recommend Ambar Blue to everyone.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Great beach, good food, decent service, but watch out for mosquitos

Beach was excellent - clear water, decent amount of shadey lounge chairs. Food was really good. Drinks were also good. Service really varied depending on the person - one of our butlers (Odelite) was AMAZING!!!! And some of the waitors and other staff would go out of their way, but others were not as helpful. One issue we had for example was that our room had tons of mosquitos throughout our stay and we kept getting bitten in our sleep. We were killing like 5+ per day and there were more. We as [... read more]ked the hotel twice to address it but they never did. Bring lots of bug spray including extra to spray around the room doorways etc.

Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Beautiful location, but poor management.

The Grand Bahia Principe el Portillo in Samana is situated in beautifully lush green surroundings. The beach quickly became one our favourites with many palm trees providing much of the shade and the mountain range in the background. Overall, the main part of the hotel is aged, but it appears well kept. The resort grounds are beautifully maintained. Our room, however, showed many signs of neglect, most significantly the musty smell, the air conditioning which did not work or worked poorly at bes [... read more]t, the lack of water (no water at all) flowing from the ‘hot’ side of the bathroom faucet, and the broken floor tiles. The view from our balcony was of a dilapidated structure/building (staff residence?). Thank goodness the fan worked to move the air around and the sliding balcony door opened. We spoke with the front desk people numerous times over the first 2 days and nights with no resolve. We asked to be moved several times but each time we were told the hotel was fully booked. Vacationers were checking out (and in) every day, but management refused to give us a different room. We received no compensation, not even a simple apology. Eventually we gave up, which is of course, what the hotel management counted on. Having no realistic options, other than packing our bags and waiting at the airport for 5 days, we made peace with the fact that management really did not care and that we were stuck in the smelly hot and humid room. So, we changed our mind-set and expectations and salvaged our vacation by enjoying the beautiful beach, the beautiful weather and the beautiful Dominican people. It really is beautiful in Samana. Unfortunately, you must pay for your vacation up front, which leaves the customer with little or no recourse when management fails to deliver on the promises they make to entice you to stay at their resort. Our only recourse comes after our stay: We promise to not ever return to the Grand Bahia Principe el Portillo in Samana or stay at any Grand Bahia resort anywhere in the world. The difference between the Grand Bahia management and us? We’ll keep our promise.

Bahia Principe Explore Turquesa: beautiful resort

Resort was spotless, people were friendly, never waited in line for anything. We were with a large group and we could always get chairs at the pool and beach. recommend this resort. Very good for families of all ages.

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: A nice place to visit

I liked it. It was small enough you would never loose anyone, yet large enough to enjoy yourself. Pools were good , the beach was rocky in places but still good. I would stay again. It is very close to Dunns River Falls, the best place to visit.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Generally great except for sales pressure during expensive excursions

Having spent a week at Punta Cana by means of Air Transat, we thought you might be interested in our reactions and evaluations. You may also want to pass this on to the relevant Air Transat people. FLIGHTS: No complaint at this level. The 2 paid-for aisle seats materialized, to and from destination. We understood from the beginning that this was a “bare bones”, “no frills” service, and we were satisfied. No bumpy landings, no surly attendants. Fine. HOTEL: The Bahia Princ [... read more]ipe was wonderful. The room was great and well-serviced on a daily basis. The buffets were varied, tasty, and served in a clean, elegant setting. Some pools were more boisterous than others, but a range of noise levels was provided for different tastes. The nightly shows, however, were limited to children’s fare between 7 and 9:30 pm. So diminished appeal for older folk looking for a night out. The room TV, by the way, offered a wide range of channels in different languages. But the reception was grainy, as if it was ripped off from some distant antenna. FOOD 1: A side note on the specialized restaurants. Most places were taken before we arrived even though we stormed the reservation office on the morning of Day 1. Seems most clients secure them on the web prior to arrival. We were therefore surprised in the 2 restaurants we did try (the Dominican, the Mexican) that a third of the tables were unused. It may be that a significant number of the web reservations are forgotten. (SUGGESTION: The hotel might require such early birds to confirm their reservations upon arrival, or lose them.) FOOD 2: The specialized restaurants we tried were both poor in food quality and service. Cleanliness was not a problem, but orders were forgotten and the food was so-so. The buffets offered much better food generally and the “theme nights” were far more appealing than the specialized restaurants. The time wasted securing places in the restaurants, in other words, was not worth it. We ended up skipping the Japanese place. If they failed with Dominican and Mexican food, a success at the Japanese level was unlikely. EXCURSIONS: This was, by far, our biggest beef during our week in the DR. An Air Transat rep strongly recommended the “Safari VIP” excursion during our Day 1 briefing. Even the steep price (US $135/person, Can $341 for 2 as per bank statement) was worth it as it was like “3 tours in one”. 1) The small farm was OK as the tour guide was knowledgeable about plants, but it soon morphed into a 45 min sales pitch about dozens of drinks and skin-care products guaranteed to lower blood pressure and cholesterol, smooth-out wrinkles, and prolong life. 2) the “cigar factory” soon followed with tons of choices for men and women. 3) The city of Igui followed the lunch. A huge concrete cathedral which we appreciated as a reflection of local culture. 4) Finally, the “lobster lunch” on a flat boat was dry, tiny and fairly mediocre with plenty of beer to spur things forward. The excursion guide was entertaining and knowledgeable, no complaint at that level. BUT AIR TRANSAT SHOULD MAKE UP ITS MIND. Either offer excursions filled with sales pitches and charge little or nothing for it, or cut out the heavy-handed selling and charge accordingly. Don’t charge US $135 for what is a mediocre day filled with sales pitches that includes food way below what is available in the hotel. So that’s our general report. Pass it on to Air Transat, please. Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Beautiful

This resort is huge. The food was great. A lot of selection and many places to choose for your dining needs. We found the pool water cold, especially the infinity pool. It would be nice to have at least one heated pool for the off season vacationers. The grounds are very well kept and manicured. The room was clean, no water issues and the maid did a fantastic job in cleaning our room. We were disappointed in the night time entertainment. Although the pole dancer was amazing! Never seen anything  [... read more]like that performance before. The drinks were great and the servers always had a smile on their face. This was our 2nd time at this Resort, 1st time was 13 years ago. We couldn't believe all the fantastic changes. Keep up the good work. You may see us again in the future!

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Great place

This was our 5th trip to the Bahia Principe Anbar Blue. They have done some good upgrades. The activities around the pool has definitely been stepped up! Kayak races, trapeze artists, Zumba in the pool and big blow up agility sets. The only bad thing we had was when we went to the Don Pablo restaurant for dinner. Our reservation was for 7:30pm. By 9:00om, we had only had our soup course. We did something we have never done before, we got up and left. It's a great resort with lots to do.

We had a great time at this resort. Its our second time even better stay. Would like to return as I love this hotel. As the service is so excellent. Check in to room service to entertainment amd meals. Thank you Manuel from the dining room. Excellent service

Bahia Principe Escape Runaway Bay: Wondrful Vacation

This resort is fabulous, from the moment you step off the bus the service is excellent. A fun atmosphere where you can do as much or as little as you like. The evening entertainment is made quiet or moved away from the resort to the beach area so those who wish to enjoy a quiet evening or sleep can do so by 11:00. For those who wish to continue the party it is a fun filled night. Their piano player offers a lobby show for every age group , really quite good! The food never disappoints . Although [... read more] the beach at the luxury is a bit smaller there is still lots of room and chairs or umbrellas are brought upon request. The other beaches are available to the guests as well as the pools so there is never a reason to miss out . We will be returning for our third time in 2019.

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Nice scenery

Overall the trip was disappointing. It rained many days (which of course is not the fault of the resort). The rooms were spacious and had a nice view of the pool and the beach. There were bugs in the room and it required fumigation - there was minimal warm water available for a shower. The food was pretty good- nothing to write home about. THe beach is awful and full of sand flies- still scratching myself raw. I personally would not recommend this place.
