Ocean Blue and Sand: Beautiful facility

Extremely clean. Superior food. I loved the variety of restaurants to choose from each day. Lots of activities and good entertainment. We especially loved the piano bar. The beach was excellent except for the fact of the erosion which sometimes made it difficult for us to actually get down to the water. However not very far away there was better accessibility.

Occidental Punta Cana: Beautiful resort, Amazing beach

This resort is very clean, with a beautiful beach and sparkling clean pools. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. There is the main buffet and a buffet at the beach where we had breakfast every morning. The entertainment in the lobby bar each night was wonderful and the service we received from Myralargo was just the best. She took excellent care of our group all week. The animation team is good but their English was not always the best and at times hard to understand. Some of the activities be [... read more]come redundant as the week wears on. The food is good to very good. The steakhouse was our absolute favourite and on par with any you would find here at home. However in some of the other restaurants the service was really slow. This appears to be a lack of staffing issue vs the staff themselves. All in all we had a good vacation, but I would say it wasn’t up to par with other Occidentals we have stayed at in the past.

Barcelo Bavaro Beach: Very enjoyable escape

The staff was very good...wonderful beach and pool....the food was quite enjoyable and varied...A very nice room. The only con with the resort was that it took two days to get the tv working. Another negative, nothing to do with the resort, but the sun wing rep was worse than useless...we were not impressed with sunwing this trip

Ocean El Faro: Fantastic trip

The good: the rooms, a la Cartes . tennis courts. bowling. pools. jacuzzi. El Beso section. the buffet. ice cream shop. Mike's cafe. the bars. the staff etc etc. We pretty much loved everything about it and had minimal problems to complain about. (problems all of the caribbean face we will not complain about such as bugs weather. time share people etc). The not so great: the timeshare BS is very annoying . learn quick how to spot then and avoid them. the duty free shop prices were mental.  [... read more] the bowling and the ice cream shop opened in the mid afternoon like 330 or 4. should be open from lunch on at the hottest part of the day in case u want an ice cream or get out of the sun for a bit.

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Fantastic stay

Our room was awesome, spacious and clean and a lovely view of the pool. The hotel is very quiet, at 10:30 pm they stop the entertainment at the main lobby, good for those that want the quiet and to relax in the evening. Only downside of the room was the mattresses are very hard and take a bit getting used to. We enjoyed the nightly shows in our own lobby. This is a huge resort with many amenities. We were in the adults only section as that was our preference. There are frequent shuttles to where [... read more]ver you want to go within the resort. The only downside we found was that as newcomers to this resort coming back from one of the others was a bit challenging as the shuttles do not always pick you up in the same place you were dropped off. Even after finding the right location to get one, they do not announce stops, so find a landmark as all the buildings tend to look the exact same and we missed our stop on a few occasions. The beach is a bit of a trek if you choose to walk and I was surprised at how small the beach actually was. This I heard was more due to weather related conditions than a fault of the resort itself. Personally, I prefer the pool anyways. Always action there and they have plenty of chairs, umbrellas and such. I would recommend a trip to the Spa. It was an hour of pure heaven and their luxury pools were an added bonus. Kudos to the onsite Doctor, she was amazing when I had to see her due to a minor accident I had while there. Shout out to Carlos Mercedes who was the most accommodating of all the hotel staff. While there they will try to get you to go for a tour of the Amber and what we thought was a 20 min tour turned out to be over an hour and a half. To save you the time, the time share they are trying to sell you, while a good deal, still costs $ 24k American. Had we of known that ahead of time we would not have bothered. The only other thing I found was not all the staff are as friendly as what we are used to from visiting Cuba so many times. Perhaps it is simply a language barrier, who knows.

Occidental Caribe: Great staff!

Resort overall very nice and well laid out. Rooms showing their age. Staff were very! helpful and supportive especially during our medical emergency. Lots of help and support from Medical, customer relations, security and front desk staff while arranging and executing ambulance pickups.

Excellence Punta Cana: Awesome Resort!!!

The resort was great, the staff, the food and grounds were top notch. I, would highly recommend this resort.The pool and beaches are clean. Plenty of restaurants to choose from. Also no reservations required. There is an Ecological park on the grounds with wildlife, it was truly beautiful to walk through every morning.If you are an Ocean person, the water was very rough. Hyatt Vivid Punta Cana: Amazing service

We couldn't say enough about the staff at Dreams Palm Beach. They are not only friendly and outgoing but go out of their way to ensure that your stay with them is memorable. This resort is one of the smallest we have been to but it lacked for nothing. The food is very good in both the buffet and restaurants and since we stay in the Preferred Club we had access to the adult only pool which was nice after the end of the day spent on the beach. Grand Palladium Select Bavaro: Paradise in Punta Cana

Second year visiting Punta Cana with the family and first year at Grand Palladium Bavaro. Perfect resort, gorgeous beach, nice rooms, fabulous food and great staff. Highly recommend for families. The year prior we stayed at another 4.5 star resort however it was more commercialized and definitely a 'party atmosphere'. GP is not that type of resort though there's sure plenty of fun to be had. The resort complex is huge and you'd think it would be hard to find spots at the beach or pools but due to its' size it was never a problem and never felt crowded. We travelled as a family of 4, son is 13 and daughter is 11. Both kids had a blast, they didn't bother with the teen's club as crashing the ocean waves and swinging in the pool hammocks was more their style this year. Evening shows were fun, entertainment team is solid. Food was very good. Buffet's standard fare and didn't have a bad meal, ala carte's were really tasty. We loved El Dorado (my son's favorite by far), nice that it isn't reservation based just be prepared for a bit of a wait if you don't time your visit properly. Rooms are nice, clean and well set up. We were steps away from the beach and one of the pools so couldn't ask for much better. Resort is very big, we didn't mind walking though and only rode the trollies a couple of times. For anyone who is concerned about getting around there's lots of trollies to take get you where you need to go. Service was top notch, staff are very friendly and always with a smile. We absolutely loved every part of our visit.

ALL was amazing!!! From the beginning check in to room, to our first buffet All the a LA cartes Everything was perfect. The staff throughout the resort were so very kind especially Yanna Tania and Santa.

Vista Sol Punta Cana: Worst resort ever!

I booked a swim up room at this resort but there is no such thing here. All the entrance to the pool are on the opposite side of your patio doors, therefore you have to walk around the building, then walk around the pool to enter the water. They have no service at the buffet. If you want something to drink you have to get it yourself. Maids say they will bring towels in 5 minutes but you end up calling main lobby for someone to bring them while you wait. Woke up to a flood in my bathr [... read more]oom. Water was coming down from the ceiling light over the sink. All my toilettery and bag was soaked. My cell phone was plugged in and sitting on the bathroom counter and that was also wet. When you shower the so called shower door isn’t wide enough to prevent water from getting your floor all wet and there is mold and mildew . Beds and pillows are horrible to sleep on. They also don’t have designated smoking areas so one can imagine how suffocating it can be to sit at the amphitheater or main lobby. Now I understand why some of the customers keep going back! Just the place smokers love to go but if you are a non smoker it’s horrible.

Bahia Principe Explore Legend: Absolutely continues to be an AMAZING RESORT!!

This is our second visit to this resort and we have no complaints whatsoever. The food is out of this world, amazing variety, quality and always so many options for adults and children (even a children's buffet at lower height for them to help themselves). There is a lunch buffet restaurant at the beach and a grill for bbq goods all day. The hotel was always very clean including the outdoor surroundings and the room was spacious. The entertainment was fantastic for the kids every night and we always felt very safe and welcome. I would strongly recommend this resort for anyone with children.

Catalonia Bavaro Resort: Catalonia bavero

Third trip to this hotel booked Privilege room this year as Standard room is dated needs upgrades. Room very nice and spacious a slightly higher pricebut worth the money. The food in the buffet has a good variety and good the ala carte restaurants are good. The grounds are well appointed with their ponds and ducks swimming around. Good evening entertainment. One disappointment at the golf course 1.this year you needed to reserve tee times as previous two year you just show up and golf.  [... read more] The staff are not golfers so they have no idea how tee times work. They would allow people to start golfing regardless of tee times . They have to be better organized they should have a Starter at the first tee block to co-ordinate tee times. Also this resort advertises golf they should run the golf course better such as having Rangers on the coure as we ran into un étiquetted players Overall it’s a good resort for families kids have their own pool area Great beach excellent staff Will go back next year . Punta Cana Princess: This resort is beautiful.

The resort has great staff that are very attentive to you needs. We have been there 5 times in the span of 16 years and they still have the same staff. The resort is beautiful. They have kept it up. The food is very good and the beach and pool areas are lovely.

Tropical Deluxe Princess: Average resort

This resort is ok . There are only 3 restaurants you can eat at , the rest you have to pay extra which Isn’t right. You should have all for no extra cost. Also there were no alcoholic drinks in our room and you had only cocktails and beer available without extra costs on resort.Rooms need to be updated and kids club wasn’t opened every time we went. Loved it the rooms were clean , the staff are very friendly, the food was so delicious and they have a big variety of it,the resort is so clean, our grand children had a great time at the children shows and in the pools and the beautiful clean sandy beach, we love the entertainments every night. We were 8 in our group and Jose at the buffet was a great help to make sure we are sitting together. Iberostar Waves Punta Cana: Good Resort - Don;t go for the food.

Everything about this resort was great except for the food. The grounds, pool, beach and staff were excellent. The rooms were good and clean but somewhat tired looking. The food was cold, over cooked or undercooked, over salted and generally not nearly as good as other resorts even Cuban resorts.

Catalonia Bavaro Resort: Beautiful resort

We were very pleased with this resort. The room was big and modern. We did have a recently renovated room. The staff were amazing. Big shout out to Evelyn and my two Antonios at the bar. Also the entertainment staff were so much fun. Victor kept you hopping he was great. The grounds were amazing. Wild life every where to watch. Bridges and ponds to watch the fish and feed turtles. There was a bit of an issue with seaweed but that doesn't bother us. You could walk to a doulphin park down the beach. The restaraunts were so good. They had a pool side snack bar with pizza natch is hotdogs and burgers. Open until 2am. There was also a creperie at the beach. There was a great coffee cafe in the little mall with freshly made coissant sandwiches. The alacarte restaurants were nice but I have had better food.The selection at the buffet was amazing. You did have to share your space with the birds if you chose to eat by the water area. One girl had her omelet taken off her plate when she went back for juice. We did an excursion to Santo Domingo by bus. Well worth the money but a very long day.The guest services (Stephany) went above and beyond. My husband forgot his diabetic medicine and she sent us to the resort Doctor, we got a prescription and she organized the pharmacy to deliver it to the hotel while we sat in the bar and had a drink. The age group was mixed with young people to retirees. Lots of families as well. Nightly entertainment was average. The disco was fun. Over all it was one of our best experiences at an all inclusive.

Ocean El Faro: Nice & New All Inclusive

Pros: Beautiful, new rooms and facilities. Restaurants are casual dress and do not require reservations which allows you to visit a different restaurant every night. Nightly entertainment was different. So many pools with daily activities or chose a pool that is calm just to relax. Snack bars were great. Cons: Time share-from morning until mid afternoon if you visit the lobby bar, expect to encounter people trying to get you to sit down and hear their timeshare presentation.
