Iberostar Coral Holguin: Extremely, amazing resort.

Extremely,Extremely Amazing, beautiful resort. I would certainly go back for another vacation. All interaction with employees and ground workers were pleasant, respectful and interesting. I must say That I enjoyed my stay there Immensely.

Melia Peninsula Varadero: Not the most lively resort for younger crowds

The resort was perfectly nice. They have shows in the evenings and activities during the days. The resort is family friendly - one of the two pools was for kids. The non-kid pool was quite warm, it wasn’t as refreshing as I’d hoped on a hot day, but we’re not in Cuba for the pools. The hotel is not ideal for younger crowds who want a more lively experience. Overall good experience! But I’d opt for another resort for personal preferences.

Melia Internacional: Best beach I’ve been to in the Caribbean

The hotel Melia was very nice. The beach was the best I’ve been to in the Caribbean by far. The water was crystal clear with no sargassum at all. The building and rooms were clean and modern. The ice cream shop was awesome until they ran out of banana ice cream. Some nights the food at the buffet was great. While other nights it missed the mark. The Cuban people were fantastic. We felt really safe there and I can’t say that for other countries we have visited. We didn’t even book at any of [... read more] the restaurants because they were booked solid. My advice would be book those early in your stay and bring hot sauces and spices to add flavour. My suggestion for the hotel would be to provide French fries and chicken nuggets for kids.

Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo: Great resort!

Our room was a bit rundown, there were too many flies in the dining area, staff could have been more friendly, but overall the resort was beautiful! We would definitely go back. We had a wonderful time!

The resort was amazing ...great staff and room was very nice an clean everyday...the food was good an fresh everyday an different items to choose from on the buffet...the setting of the dining was very relaxing an atmosphere was great...

Villa Lindamar: Amazing Resort

Ok this is a small but large resort. The staff is the best. They look after you whatever you needed. The grounds are manicured and the public areas e.g.: washroom so clean. The rooms are so well taken care of you have nothing to worry about. The staff in the dining room and the cooks do the best can even when they run out of food. e.g. chicken, beef. Outside could use ceiling fans, the bartender was dripping in sweat. I did talk to their so call management and wasn't impressed. The lunch bar ( [... read more]Rancho) what a view. If the ocean is too rough, there is outdoor shower to cool off. So, I have been there twice and more than likely will go again. If you go do not tip with our Loonie and tunnies bring down American paper one-dollar bills, their bank can't deal with them. So go to this resort and have a great time.

Iberostar Selection Varadero: Iberostar Selection Varadero

Just came back from a week in Cuba at Iberostar Selection Varadero. Went with 3 teenagers and a spouse and booked the Family room. These are two adjoining rooms with one room having 3 double beds and one room having a king bed. Each room has a bathroom with shower and tub. The hotel overall is very dated and requires quite a bit of updating. The food wasn't very good and is repeated daily in multiple restaurants. Water is very hard to find as they have a water shortage so you must bring your ow [... read more]n reusable bottles and can only get water at the pool bar or main lobby. Staff are extremely slow and not terribly friendly and let me tell you, if you don't tip, even for water while eating dinner you won't get service again. Tipping here is at an all time high due to economic pressures and the Cuban currency at an all time low. Entertainment staff come out asking for tips before, during and after each show. Staff dress up as statues holding a basket asking for tips when you walk around the resort. All drinks are warm as ice is almost impossible to find which means beer is flat, wine is very hot and you can't get something to cool you down. The beach is absolutely beautiful and like our of a movie. You can walk for miles and it doesn't get deep, it was a dream to swim in. The pool is the same but has almost zero shade so bring a hat along with your reusable water bottles. Went snorkeling off the beach where it's $20 per person in CASH to take an hour long trip right off the beach. Was totally worth the $100 for the 5 of us to enjoy. The fish and sea life were incredible. Overall the trip was good but wouldn't go back anytime soon. More so due to the economy and the resort just not having normal essential items right now that I would prefer to have on vacation. Cold drinks, drinking water, clean sheets and air conditioning that runs properly. I know it's Cuba and it's not what we are accustomed to, but I feel the basics are lacking right now and will consider Cuba again in maybe 5 years.

Resorts were good staffs were excellent.rooms are great however shortage of toilet paper dining wise went to 3 ala carte restaurant the Mexican was fair the Chinese Feng shut was bad however the brazillian was the worse can't even chew the lamb and the food is cold had another families from quebec who also walked out of the restaurant,the buffett was repetitive.However I gave kudos to the staffs they are the best they tried to do the best with what they have .The beach is beautiful will consi [... read more]der coming back to the resorts even with the shortfall.

This hotel is amazing! Have never stayed, in our 13 stays in Cuba, in a more beautiful, clean, well serviced, elegant, and beautiful resort. 1. Grand Aston Cayo Paredon Beach Resort: Amazing resort!

My husband, myself and my 2 children (aged 6 and 8) just returned from a week at this resort and we absolutely LOVED it! The beach had soft sand and the ocean was fantastic! I kept hearing about sargassum hitting many tropical areas this year but it did not hit Cayo Coco. The water was warm and even though the waves were rough at times, my family spent hours in the water and on the beach. It is shallow for a while as you walk out in the ocean and bring goggles! We were able to see tropical fish  [... read more]almost daily which thrilled all of us! The staff are very friendly, humble and kind. They work very hard to ensure the resort is in tip top shape. The seaweed that is present is raked into piles by a worker. There is also wait staff who take your drink order while we lounge on the beach and there was a worker who came with a wheelbarrow almost daily, filled with mangoes and coconuts. We were able to enjoy these delicious treats right on the beach! This resort is only 8 months old so everything is new and clean. Our room overlooked the ocean and we had no problems with our accommodations. There wasn't a huge variety of food but we didn't care as our children are picky eaters and they were able to find something they liked! They LOVED the scrambled eggs for breakfast and thin slices of pork for lunch. This was not going to be the time they expanded their pallete and my husband and I didn't mind. The transportation to and from the resort was smooth with no issues. I learned that the Sunwing desk doesn't open until 8am at the Cayo Coco airport so there was really no need for the bus to get us at the resort at 6:55am when it's a half hour drive to the airport. I would have liked to have breakfast at the resort before getting on the bus as our flight wasn't until 11am. We didn't try any of the a la carte restaurants as we were simply not interested to do so. The buffet, beach bar, snack bar and family pool bar suited our needs just fine. We enjoyed the kiddle pool and family pool and at times, had a plate of fries to eat as our snack. We looked forward to the buffet in the evenings as there was a waiter named Noe who made our experience enjoyable. He was always friendly, kind and attentive to our needs. He greeted us with a smile each day and my kids connected with him. I would have liked to see napkins at the buffet. Apparently, they were at the a la carte restaurants but there weren't any at the buffet. It became a nuisance after a while. This resort has WIFI access which worked perfectly in our room, buffet, lobby bar and check in desk area. It works at the beach as well but it is spotty. We had to keep reconnecting but we didn't mind. There was no wine when we went but we were able to enjoy other alcoholic beverages. As an aside, Cuba now has a digital entry form that EVERY passenger must have filled out before entering the country. Also, there is no longer a departure tax to exit the country. Overall, this was a relaxing vacation for my family.

Sol Caribe Beach: Absolutely amazing resort !

Our all-time favourite resort in Cuba is Sol Cayo Coco, but since it will not be available until later this year, we decided to give Varadero a try for our first vacation in almost 4 years. Spent 2 days reading (the scary) reviews about all resorts available in Varadero and almost gave up until I stumbled across Sol Caribe Beach. We have immediately decided this is the place we wanted to go. This newly renovated resort is absolutely stunning and all the reviews are true to the letter ! The hot [... read more]el (main building) is super clean and the well air-conditioned rooms are very modern with subtle LED lighting, new fixtures and comfortable beds. A large flat TV offers a good selection of channels from around the world and an absolute new feature for Cuban resorts: free Wifi ! The wifi is actually quite decent signal-wise and speed-wise (even facetime, youtube etc worked pretty good). The beautiful lobby is also home to Friends Bar where Manuel, Amanda, Gladis, Abel , Cristian and Rainier will happily fill your glass and put a smile on your face too. Not far from there, at the Corner Cafe, Yosladi the master barista will craft any coffee your heart desires ! The lobby is a non-smoking area which is actually a great idea (yes I am a smoker), but you can enjoy your beverage, your smoke and a chat on the cozy patio right outside the lobby bar facing the swimming pool area and the Papagayo pool bar. From here, a short 20 meters walk will bring you to The Kitchen buffet where the super friendly Richard and his lady team mate (cannot remember her name) will greet you with a seemingly endless supply of champagne. The buffet has a wide variety of food, 2 grilling stations and one pasta station. I personally love the Cuban food, their delicious beef, chicken or pork stews and seafood rice always made me get seconds. Great selection of deserts: fruit, cakes and icecream. Past the swimming pool area, on the way to/from the white sand beautiful beach, the awesome Otto and Abdiel at the Brisa Beach Bar will always greet you and make sure you are staying well “hydrated” :) The beach is clean and offers plenty of lounge chairs and palm thatch umbrellas.The ocean is beautiful and warm and it offers a generous distance of shallow waters. Beach activities include stretching, salsa dance class, volleyball and feel free to explore the emerald waters with the free-of-charge pedal boats and kayaks or book ($) a catamaran trip to the deeper waters. Security and life guards are always present to ensure a safe and civilized experience. The evening entertainment is pretty good, with an amazing team of dancers, magicians, cuban music band and also a very good rock band, but they could use a more energizing team of animators to advertise their upcoming shows and events and to build up the vibe amongst the guests throughout the resort. A great and needed addition would be an after hours disco/club for those who would like to burn more energy dancing past the midnight. In conclusion: the staff is polite and friendly, the hotel is very clean, beautiful and modern style, the food is great and plentiful, beverages are of good quality, the beach is clean and comfortable and the entertainment is pretty good. Wall hand sanitizer dispensers can be seen from place to place and UV lights fitted inside the elevators, all linens, glassware and silverware are spotless which shows the Management is serious about the health measures.. No shortages whatsoever and we actually felt pampered during this WONDERFUL VACATION at this gem hidden in plain sight ! Paradisus Los Cayos: Beautiful resort

The resort is fairly new and very beautiful but already in need of some small maintenance care . The workers are all five stars . Food was always plenty and we even had lobster for 3 different nights .

Melia Costa Rey: Cayo Coco Pullman

Grounds are nice but trees are not matured still small not that much shading areas and very dry.Service is okay unless you tip them well. Food in the Buffet is not bad but you have to get there when it opens or there won't be much variety left . Beach and pools are great. Overall I had a great time with my family under the circumstances. Hopefully things improve with food supply in Cuba.

Melia Marina Varadero: Good summer trip!

My bestfriend and I took this trip and were pleasantly surprised it exceeded our expectations. There was some small hiccups but overall it was great value for the price - the beach was beautiful with clean white sand!

Iberostar Selection Holguin: Excellent Experience

Rooms were clean, as was the property, grounds and pools. The staff was friendly and service was excellent. This was the first time I have been to Cuba and the beaches are beautiful. The food at this resort was quite good, and better than I expected based on other people’s reviews of food in Cuban based resorts.

Playa Pesquero: Amazing people!

This resort is a lovely big one with many different restaurants, places to sit with an espresso, plenty of chairs both at the pool and the beach and has great entertainment. My favourite thing about Cuba and this resort are the kind sweet people! The beaches, sea and sun are what draws me there but the kindness of the people are what brings me back time, time and again! They chat and ask how the visit is going and if something is needed they are quick to rectify. Every time I requested a drive to the front desk or a restaurant the driver was there in less than 5 mins and cheerfully drove me where I needed to go. I would definitely recommend this resort to others!!

The One Gallery Hotel: Amazing Resort and amazing Beach!

We spent 14 days in this hotel, and we would like to share our experience. We had a Sunwing flight which was on time both directions. The hotel is new and clean. Our room was excellent. The food: we had a lot of choice (even if I am not a kind of person who eats everything).
