Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: New and improving

It is amazing to see how much has been accomplished in such a short time since hurricane irma.staff have worked so hard to get the hotel up and running. We are happy to see things coming back to normal.

Tryp Cayo Coco: Amazing week!

We had a great time at Tryp Cayo Coco. We ran into minor hicups (water/power failures) but they fixed everything very quickly. This resort is amazing and the people working there are really special. There’s a family feel to this place. I guess this is why people keep coming back. For the right price, this place is just what you need. Decent food, beautiful pool and beach, clean (but dated) room, new renovated lobby and awesome service.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: So-so; Great staff but resort a little lacking

Wonderful staff at this resort! Everyone says Hola to you, even the gardeners. The grounds around the resort are quite torn up, from the hurricane I assume but the beach is amazing! Resort is a little dated, and worse for wear. Was really disappointed that there was no Disco at the resort, so no place to dance. It was made into a Sports Lounge, which had great bartenders and good atmosphere but closed at 11! The only bar open past 11 PM was the snack bar, which lost it's roof, so if it's raini [... read more]ng or windy there's no comfortable place to eat/drink after hours. The biggest A-la cart restaurant is under construction, so Cuban and Mediterranean are sharing the same location which makes it book up faster. I wouldn't recommended the Italian on the beach because the bugs will eat you alive at night. But the day time pizza hut is delicious! Had a standard garden view room, nothing amazing but wasn't uncomfortable. Semi decent Wifi available in the lobby, cards definitely don't last the hour though! I would say this is more of a 3 or 3.5 star as opposed to the advertised 4 stars, I'm happy that I got it cheap at least. Still had a great time though!!

Iberostar Origin Playa Pilar: Excellent Resort.

Considering this is a relatively new resort the operation of the resort functions above average. The various staffs especially the animation team perform to a high standard and are to be congratulated. In fact the staff in all areas work hard to make the tourist happy more so then most resorts. The ground are a work in progress and will be beautiful when more mature. The food is good but even the new resorts can not keep the food more then warm in their trays in the buffet. The a-la-carts are wo [... read more]rth attending and the small beach unique at low tide. The walk to the main beach at Playa Pilar is well worth the effort. Our room 1525 was spacious especially the bathroom and the towel art appreciated. This resort has been carefully laid out and the pool area impressive. We enjoyed our stay and recommend this resort.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Good but not great

Hotel was okay. Not much variety in the food area. Rooms were acceptable but not spectacular. The view was great, the pools were clean and the access to the sea was easy. The best part of our trip was the staff!

Melia Cayo Coco: He had a great time!

We upgraded to the lagoon room and we loved it. We have only positive things to say about this resort. Room was spacious and clean with a nice layout and a beautiful view of the lagoon. Food was good and although you can still see the effects of the hurricane on the grounds they are working really hard to improve. One of the three a la carte restaurants was still closed but the diners to the other 2 was very good. People are very nice and friendly and they really try to make us feel welcome. Melia Jardines del Rey: Not what I expected

Not sure where to begin. I was hesitant with the good and bad reviews. To start off the beach and pool are great. The rooms are decent however having towels to shower after the day at the pool or beach were not easy to get. Many nights we would come back and there would be no towels at all. It took about 4 calls to customer service to even get a hold of someone and more than hours of waiting for towels. One night after being at the beach all day there was not a drop of water to take a shower or wash hands. The service in the buffet was terrible and it was like a fight to get food and the longest lines I have ever seen. We Booked the Italian a la carts and my kids wanted more bread and they said they have no more but were walking around with a basket of bread. 3 choices of fruit all week and no juice at all for kids. It was horrific. I was s disapponted with almost everything. Would not go back or recommend... Just really bad service and washrooms in the lobby full of crap and no toilet paper. They need to do a lot of work to get this place to even a 2 star. What a waste of a beautiful beach.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Nice resort. Very clean

This was a bright, clean resort with great beds, friendly well trained staff. Beach and pool were awesome. Ample food - could use a bit more spices. Piano bar with entertainment. Night shows a bit loud.GREAT water show one night.

Melia Jardines del Rey: Back from Melia Jardines del Rey two days ago

This is our second time to Melia Jardines del Rey. The hotel has recovered from Hurricane Irma very well. All the facilities, restaurants, bars and pools are open, except a few bungalows which are under renovation. The beach is bigger and nicer. The service are excellent. Everyone is trying to provide good service and with a smiling face. We enjoyed our vacation and will go back again.

Hotel Playa Paraiso: Very pleasant resort!

This is a very pleasant hotel, with well kept grounds, clean and pleasant rooms, a spacious, well furnished public areas. The staff were unfailingly friendly and helpful. The pool is well designed and accommodates both children and adults. The food in the buffet was varied and well cooked. The strip of mangrove swamp between the beach and the hotel grounds appears to have been wiped out by Hurricane Irma. Melia Jardines del Rey: Really Nice Resort

Room were large and clean, we had hot water and pressure all week Food was good, lot of choice, not always hot but warm, never waited too long even if it's a big resort. Nice beach but they should clean out the weeds....more often if they do. Pools are really nice and huge. Personal was helpful and friendly. We had a nice week at this resort.

Melia Costa Rey: Cuban Vacation - January 17-24, 2018...Beautiful Resort! Thanks Tammy B.

This resort seemed to have recovered well considering the devastation that Hurricane Irma had caused to the other resort areas. The grounds and accommodation were fantastic, food was great (considering your personal tastes), entertainment superb, staff friendly and helpful. Weather was varied...first four days, high winds off the Atlantic with the ocean beaches "red flagged" for that time, with sun and cloud...and a storm on the Sunday. Iberostar Origin Playa Pilar: Ugh

I was looking forward to returning to Cuba. The people here have been our favorite compared to other Island resorts etc. Not this time. Alot of the staff seemed not interested in providing good service. Either by attitude or insufficient training, I'm not sure. It is a newer resort, perhaps Iberostar had problems getting experienced help. The food was typical Cuba. Mostly had to stick to pasta , rice and bread. Always self served, the cooks managing the hot plates were painfully slow everyday  [... read more]with every meal. The rooms were ok although my safe was not working 1st night and the tv remote for 3 nights. Ants were a issue, I killed about 8 a day, but they don't generally bother me, nor did they bite. There is no real water, beach area. The Sand is dirty and never raked the week we were there at e end of January. Over all, it was the least favorite resort we have been to, unfortunately. Poor service and food over all (completely forget the snack bar at any hour, worst service I have ever put up with anywhere) Too bad, we were looking forward to this vacation. We are already looking to return to Cancun or Jamaica next January.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Awesome recovery from a devastating hurricane!

We felt everything was good, however having said that, there was room for improvement regarding the 1. plumbing issues, in rooms (water pressure) and also public areas and also 2. air conditioning .. in rooms and the main buffet!!! The beach was incredible .. increased in size BECAUSE of the hurricane..the food has improved since I was there 2 years ago!! YES, we will return.

de retour le 30 janvier 2018 , un peu froid mais mieux qu a Montréal, un peu de pluie,3 belles journées a la plage chaude et ensoillées,.Les resto a la carte nous en avons vu 3 Mexicain bon service tres lent mais nous en avons beaucoup blager pendant le repas ( fou rire).Francais surprenant,Assiatique poche.Au 24 heures pour déjeuner( pas besoin de courrir pour le buffet )tres bien.Nous avons appréciés diner a l extérieur ou lorsqu il ouvrait la deuxieme section qui est beaucoup pl [... read more]us calme et moins achalandé.Nous avons eu la meme chambre, merci a Issa au service administratif de réservation .Merci a notre dame d entretient du bloc 9 dernier étage et a tout le personnel du résort.Le hic SUNWING il change les heures de départ et retour et ajoute un escale lorsque nous avons acheté sans escale le 20 décembre pour un départ le 23 janvier et le 2 janvier il change tout sans excuse sans raison puisqu il ny avait pas d urgence 21 jours d avance et cette journée etait la tempete du verglas qui a terminé a 2 heures et notre vol de départ était a 3h30 pm nous aurions évitée tout les retard le déglacage d avion pour leur faux départ a 10 heures am .

Melia Cayo Coco: Melia paradise

This was our second visit and definitely not our last to this wonderful resort. The staff here are so outgoing and friendly and make you feel at home. We had a lagoon room with a great view of sunrises and sunsets. We had a great time dancing to music played by the Band at the pool-snack bar, and the musicians entertaining at night. The entertaining dancers are so talented and always put on a great show. The service by the international restaurant morning staff was always a great start of our d [... read more]ay. The attention to detail of staff in the buffet was also a highlight. When you walked in they knew what you wanted to drink and went all out making your meal enjoyable. On our last day there were so many well wishes and hugs that were so genuine. We left sad to be going home, but left feeling totally relaxed and knew we would be back. Irma might have hurt the vegetation of this resort but not the heart of the wonderful people who work here.

Hotel Mojito: Words can't describe it

We have visited this hotel many times and have always enjoyed our stay. We thought that with Irma's devastation the hotel may not be able to recover. Viva la Cuba they proved us wrong on so many levels the love warmth and hospitality remain the same or better than always but the staff are this hotels greatest gems. Each person on the staff do their best to ensure that everyone feels at home comfortable and included. Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Good resort

Resort was gorgeous, beautiful lush gardens, unreal beach, pools were nice, rooms were decent, nice buffets and a la cartes ! We up grated to diamond club but felt there was no extra services ! I wouldn't recommend the upgrade. Late check out is at 2 pm. No separate beach bar and server in diamond club section on beach. We were suppose to have one king size but ended up in a room with two doubles, the hot water broke the first two days in the room. Lovely workers and nice resort. Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Great place

The place is really coming along.... This was our second visit and you can barely see that a hurricane pasted there besides a few palm trees broken and a roof missing. The food was very good for Cuba... I think the best I’ve seen so far. The staff will go out of their way to make sure you are satisfied. The renovated rooms are great although no doors in bathroom. Hotel Camino del Mar: Great resort

I was surprise to see the resort in very good condition, the work they did in 5 months after the hurricane Irma was amazing. The food was good, the room dated but very clean, the staff where very friendly. Jorge the air transat rep. was excellent he very helpful when an accident happen to my sister. I will go back because of the staff .
