Iberostar Waves Paraiso del Mar: Great vacation

The resort was great. We however did not think it would be a place that would involve spring break issues. Rude drunk kids were not part of our girl week and became bothersome. Security did shut them down.

Loved the resort. Clean, not too big. The staff were amazing and the food was also great (and not just Cuban standards). The beach and the water were breathtaking. I am not sure if the season was low, but there were always plenty of beach chairs as well as around the pool. Food and drinks around the clock, and you could always find the proper amount of activity, from none to plenty. Entertainment staff made sure to keep busy the kids and the adults. Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Beautiful resort!

This resort was beautiful and quite large. Lots of walking to the various ammenities but worth it. Not much to say about the food, but we didn't starve. Brought the kids, age 8 and 2 and they loved every moment. Beautiful beaches, great pool and kids loved the children's area and nightly kids show.

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Great Resort - solid 41/2 star

The hotel was very clean, the grounds were very well kept. Great pool. The food was very good! surprisingly enough the meat was very good. Hotel room was a bit small and aged but clean. It is self serve at the pool, but the staff was very friendly. The entertainment left much to be desired.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Compact beautiful resort

My wife and I along with 4 other good friends just returned from a stay from March 21-28 2016. The friendliness of the staff from front desk, bars, maids, gardeners, waiters and waitresses are second to none. The entertainment team really go out of their way to make sure your stay is memorable and make you feel welcome. Special shout out to Odie, Ernie and Alex, what a wonderful sense of humour. The Varadero or Manztanza buildings are close to everything but really none of the buildings are far away from anything.We even had a bottle of rum in our room upon check in which we assume was because we were returning guests. The only thing we thought that might improve this amazing resort would be an improved cleanup around the pool deck and maybe a 24hr snack bar would be nice. We would not hesitate to visit again though, wonderful vacation.

This was an awesome resort, the staff was extremely friendly and yes I know that they are suppose to be but not everyone is always that way, but at this resort I found all staff to be very friendly, from the reception in the lobby to the grounds personal that you didn't come in contact with very often. The food was very good in all resteraunts on this resort. The only down side to my visit if any, and I'm not sure you can even call it a downside would be the size of the pool, I found it to be a  [... read more]bit small, but in saying that if you take into consideration the size of the resort it was never over crowded and that might be because the beach was a 2 minute walk from the pool. I would recommend this resort to anyone that is looking to get away to but only if your looking to enjoy yourself.

Iberostar Selection Playa Mita: Beyond expectations!

This was an amazing place for a week. Clean, friendly, excellent food, great beach for walking, fabulous pool and not crowded. It was quiet, and we were able to enjoy without being hassled at the beach or the pool. Went to the shows most nights which were very professional and enjoyable. I made a mistake and was able to get hold of Lawrence who was extremely helpful and righted my wrong! Thus vacation was just what we needed. A must go to!

The beach is fantastic, the food was excellent for a Cuban resort. You can't expect having lobster on 3 different nights in the buffet restaurant. The staff was very friendly and the service was very good.

Iberostar Waves Paraiso del Mar: A great place to go

The rooms were clean, service was excellent, and the buildings and facilities were well maintained. The food was good t the buffet. The a la cart restaurants were very good. The beach was great aside from some rocky areas in the water which you just need to avoid. The pools were excellent, and the swim up bar was nice.

Iberostar Selection Rose Hall Suites: Fantastic resort with absolutely the best service!

Our family of 4 were floored by the beauty, cleanliness, fantastic service and great suites at the IRHSuites!! Our suite was spotless and the the cleaning staff were fantastic and polite! The food at every turn was so delicious! We are in 2 of the specialty restaurants which were very good. Our 2 daughters (14&12) loved eating in the buffets though as there was a bountiful selection that was mind boggling! The service st every bar and restaurant or in the music bar was fantastic!!! One night all [... read more] I ate was fish and seafood...beautifully prepared mahi mahi/tuna/lobster tails/fresh shrimp/tuna and sushi. They had tenderloin steak that perfectly prepared (at both steak rest and buffet..we all like it Med rare). We drank our sparkling wines from glass stems, drinks in glass tumblers etc...no soft plastic anywhere! If we were outside, the drinks were served in hard plastic. the pool was clean and warm as was the beautiful blue sea that the infinity pool overlooked. We spent a day at a diff hotel for the night as it allegedly had the best Waterpark..,NOT. It's drinks were all premade, food was only ok and little selection. Our drinks were made from scratch and were soooo yummy. 24 hour room service food was delicious as well! Our girls LOVED the spaghetti. Their pizza was fantastic. I CANNOT say enough good things about this resort. It was totally ALL INCLUSIVE. We will for sure go back to this resort. Our suite was so spacious and crisp. Large shower with huge tub. We ended every night in the music bar chatting about our day and having a sambucca. They even put an odd number of coffee beans in the drink! DEFINITELY take in the orientation for no other reason than to hear repeatedly to put on suntan lotion!!! DO NOT FORGET your suntan lotion like we did as it is $27 US in the shop. That was painful. You need a hat, uv protection water shirt and lots of suntan lotion. We took our own Costco purchased goggles and snorkel though you can get them there to use. Don't forget water shoes as their are some little urchins out in the snorkling area. our girls did the 2 seater parasailing and they loved it! We all did the TWO dolphin swim (ultimate) and it was worth it. What we did not really enjoy much was the Dunn Rivet climb as our guide dropped us at the check in and we ended up waiting 45 min for a large group of SLOW folks. You don't just go with your own family and have to hold hands in a long row the entire way up... No fun. I would pass on that and just do the Dolphins. Pants for men req at certain restaurants. We had one nice lightweight outfit each. Sun dresses for woman at night = perfect. Take lots of US $1s as you WANT to tip the waiters in buffet and bars as their service is insanely good, not because your drinks aren't good etc... We left 2-3$ each rest/buffet and a1$ every drink...or every other. WONDERFUL WONDERFUL service, doors opened for you, hot delicious coffee and milk etc...I can't say enough about this place. We took a cab from the airport to resort for $35 and well worth it as you don't have to wait for everyone to get their luggage and act together to get on complimentary bus. TOTALLY WORTH IT! It was worth it on way back too as bus ended up waiting 45 min before leaving and they were suppose to leave earlier than we did with taxi. The nice thing doing it that was is that you are either there before or after bus and don't have a long line st check in that you wait for. I signed up for reggae tour the night before we left so they had my reservation and a great price. 70$ round trip for us all and only us. One taxi tried to get $150 for a 1 way... Online chat:( Go with Reggae. It's only ~ 20 min from airport to resort. After you have your luggage, just go over to Reggae Tours desk and the swiftly move you out the door and into their clean taxi. Have your bathing suit and lotion packed within easy reach as if you arrive early, you can change and go to pool while luggage waits with bellman. They will give you your pool towel cards. Also, we payed 25$ pp for the Club Mobay at the airport on return home...perfect as we did not have to stand in line for customs...they take you ahead of the line and check you through. Then you go to their air conditioned, drinks, small meals and snacks as well as wifi all complimentary while you wait to depart. TVs too. Fantastic holiday for us! Our Trip Crntral Saskia Sing was a HUGE help to me and shared tons of info. She is a go to us for future vacations!

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Best beach ever

Best resort for families with kids. Very quiet. No waves, no wind, shallow water. Most beautiful beach I ever seen. Lots of fish. Good for snorkelling. Service is not as good, sometimes you have to wait for half an hour to get a drink or food. They operate on "Cuban time"

Iberostar Waves Rose Hall Beach: Fabulous Resort

Our family of five (including 12 year old child) loved this resort! Everything was fantastic. Delicious food, clean rooms, mini fridge stocked daily, rooms cleaned daily...great entertainment including water aerobics, dance lessons, kayaking, sailing, parasailing, scuba & snorkeling. Beach was great and lovely pools.

Smaller resort & loved the layout. Everything was close & easy access. Food was the best ever, lots of variety & always fresh wherever we chose to eat. Japanese restaurant was awesome & everyone should try iit. Rooms were clean & well maintained during our stay, never had to ask for anything. Customer service was excellent throughout the resort, staff always asking if you were happy with the facilities, activities or whatever you were doing. Another positive for me was the short drive from the airport, maybe 1/2 hour & check in was quick & efficent. Would not hesitate to recommend it or go back!

This was our 3rd visit to this resort and it didn't disappoint our expectations . Will be going back again and again . The staff are great as is the management . Also on hand are great people to help you set up tours .

the beach is very nice long enough for a fifteen minute walk end to end.The food at the buffet was always fresh with variety every meal. Iberostar obviously choose their employees with the clientele in mind , from management to service and entertainment we feel treated special.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Less than expected

Just arrived home and happy to be back. The bed were like lying on a board and the pillows were flat, so did not get a lot of sleep. THe food was ok. At the beginning of our stay there were no condiments, so we ate sandwiches and burgers dry. By the end of the week the hotel stocked tomato paste (Ketchup) and mayo.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Beautiful beach

Overall my stay was very pleasant! The buffet food was as expected... mediocre at best. The restaurants were fantastic. I really enjoyed the Italian. The beach was postcard worthy. We attended a beach party one night that was hosted by hotel staff and that was a blast! One thing that I found as a surprise was there were no toilet seats on any of the toilets. Not even in our own room! Very strange. Definitely a good stay. Happy travelling!

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: A great family resort.

The service, the hospitality and the entertainment was excellent. Clean and meticulous in the daily duties. The organization is world class. Courteous and polite, it made our stay memorable. We would definitely go again.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Disappointing Return

We stayed at this resort 3 years ago & had a wonderful week. Since then the hotel has not been maintained. On arrival our room was very worn & old looking and no toliet seat - we requested a change but had to stay 2 nights before we moved. The people at the front desk were very gracious, however when we went to the front desk the next morning as directed - all of a sudden they had no record of the request! Our new room seemed very dated as well and the sliding doors were constantly stuck and nee [... read more]ded a lot of force to open. The food was the usual tasteless food found in most Cuban resorts. The pools were clean but it was 10 or 11 am before the mats were available and we couldn't get a clean towel all week as there was a "a problem with the laundry". I felt bad for the staff - they seemed at a loss as to how to help people but always politely kept to the same excuses. 99% of the staff were wonderful. We were impressed w/the hotel representative for Transat who was always there on time & did a good job advising of excursions etc. Other than the fantastic service we received from both Trip Central & Transat this trip was horrendous! I would remove this resort from your list.

Iberostar Selection Varadero: Iberostar Varadero, a beautiful resort for all age

The resort itself is well organized. The room was always cleaned. We had the visit of the cleaning lady at least twice a day. In the morning for doing the bed and changing the towels. In the evening, they were again changing the towels even if we didn't ask for it, plus chocolate was added on our bed with a ``Good night`` note.
