Vista Sol Punta Cana: Thoroughly Disappointed!!!!!!

Hotel is understaffed!!!! - Nearly got my eye scratched by thorny plants that were hanging over the walkways. - Had a glass of beer with a chipped edge and ended up with glass in my mouth. - Soap in bathroom turns into a pulverized mess when you try and use it. - Shower in room is horrible! Impossible to keep water from going everywhere! - No wake-up call available. - We rented the room safe, but the instructions from the front desk were terrible!!! - Italian restaurant food was awful. [... read more] - Food in Sports Bar on beach was awful. - Unfriendly staff at towel hut! - Too many issues to mention! Lifestyle Tropical Beach Resort: Lifestyles spa

The resort is beautiful,clean, good food. There is no disco at this time. The v I p party is no longer as well as the foam party.if you want to go 5o sea world you need to hire a taxi to go to the disco. Drinks are not free there. They still have shows at the Coliseum some nights. There is a silent disco at lifestyles and cofresi, that was fun. The staff at the pool bar are amazing. The roome in building 5 are very clean. Occidental Caribe: Don't go Here!

We stayed here as a couple in January , it a Beautiful location, with clean pools & grounds, everything else contributed to a horribly disappointing 2 Star all inclusive vacation experience Buffet- Overall Dirty & completely unorganized, all guests at this large resort are herded into the one buffet, food is inconsistent, labelling of foods are incorrect & some days had no fruit or butter, cereal or yoghurt or fresh vegetables ,bread& pastries was always full, food was of very poor quality A [... read more]s a result of a total lack of leadership, Servers were all overworked & unable to provide service couldn't even get a coffee or cutlery on some days the crowds were overwhelming A la carte restaurants have lovely servers but still, food was really awful Not enough beach chairs, most are broken & dirty we had to find 2 chairs at 6am every morning to secure a beach chair there is no pool or beach beverage service, unless you go to the entertainment pool & sit in the pool at bar. & we had no pool towels for first 3 days despite multiple attempts Luckily we brought our own towels AC in room would not work, tried numerous attempts with resort to bring below 24.5. Degrees, we were pocked out of our room 3 times, no explanation or apologies we had mould in our entire shower stall, our housekeeper tried to remove it with bleach but to no avail

Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: Amazing resort

The resort is great, entertainment was very good, one thing I didn't like is the room service, the first day when we checked in into our rooms, we found opened beverages bottle in the fridge half used, in the second room same thing plus rotten coconut in the fridge, cleaning crew did not leave bottle of water in our rooms sometimes and new toilet paper, we ran out of toilet papers and when we went to the front desk to ask for some, they said we have to wait until the morning for the cleaning lad [... read more]y, we had to search public bathrooms for some at 1 am, coffee mugs in the rooms were wiped clean with the bathroom rags, I had to wash it with shampoo 3 times prior to use every morning, other than that, great place

Bahia Principe Escape Bouganville: Great trip!

We had a great time at Bahia Principe Luxury Bouganville. Check in and out was quick and easy and everyone at the front desk was super helpful. Rooms were very nice and clean. Food at all the buffets and a La Carts were amazing. Resort grounds and pools were very well maintained. Special thanks to the following staff for making our trip even better. Majestic Elegance Punta Cana: Beautiful resort!

Everything was kept clean. Beaches were cleared of the sargassum weeds on a daily basis. Staff were friendly and helpful. Food was very good.Our butler Henry was helpful and pretty quick to respond.We did not do any excursions. Chose just to enjoy the resort.

Zel Punta Cana - All Suites: Good Resort

This is a very luxury and expansive (and expensive) hotel. All Personnel seems to us were very eager to satisfy guests, very friendly and helpful. But again its a split for type of "VIP guests", so we did not have access by far to all facilities. Some other small issues.... 1. TV has only about six English channels, including useless CNN. 2. Whole unit was unnecessary large for a couple, we had a total four rooms, including indoor and outdoor jacuzzi. 3. No entertaining during all three weeks [... read more], except once week Karaoke.

Catalonia Bavaro Resort: It’s OK

Grounds are beautiful but huge. Map given was black and grey, couldn’t read it, fumbled for 2 days. Did not get the room we asked for, although did get a bottom floor. Basically told too bad. Food in the 2 buffets was excellent. Steakhouse, the steak was terrible. Couldn’t chew it. Rooms kept clean. Like a $5 tip left on the pillow. For privileged, we didn’t see anything privileged except a space on the beach which you could never get a seat at. No high end liquor at the bar, no desi [... read more]gnated areas, same service as regular pricing. Paid extra for nothing. Employees very friendly, not much English, but they try. Took 3 days to get an extra blanket, clock didn’t work, never did get a new one, no washcloths, take your own. Very loud beach bar that keeps you awake till at least 1 a.m. on the weekend with the thumping. Entertainment sucked at night and didn’t start till 9:30.

Iberostar Selection Hacienda Dominicus: Great resort!

The beach is amazing and beautiful. The entertainment team is also great. You will not get bored at night as there are shows and parties. There are also activities for kids. The hotel is green and clean.

Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: Great Resort

While a bit outdated it was clean and well maintained. Food was ok but I'm not a big meat eater and a lot of meat and meat dishes were served. The only complaint I do have is being swarmed so badly by merchant vendors on my way to dinner that it caused me to have a panic attack. They have stores they can work from that if you want to go into you can so why they would allow them to set up tables by the buffet entrance is beyond me. Viva V Samana by Wyndham: Nice Resort

Small, clean, well landscaped resort with good food and beautiful beach. The activity crew provide activities to keep you busy daily. Rooms are clean and well appointed. Everything works but TV , if so inclined, has virtually no english channels with sound. Viva room with large deck and plunge pool was great. Water fairly cool but spoiled us for any future visits. Would not go any other way.

Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: one week at Senator D.R

Beautiful grounds. Well maintained, Very large resort, a lot of walking. Buffet food was good with lots of variety. Specialty restaurants disappointing. Very few staff spoke English so there was difficulty with communication. Minor issues with A/C and hot water,were resolved quickly. Biggest issue was lack of lounge chairs poolside, even though there was plenty of room for more chairs. Reception was smooth, and staff very helpful. Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: So nice to return to our second home

Each time we visit it is more beautiful than the time before. The grounds are beyond nice. The gardeners and ground maintenance crews have the property manicured. It's hard to pass the lobby area without seeing the ladies cleaning and mopping all the walkways. The food is great with many choices as is the ala cartes, I gained 10 lbs in 10 days. All that being said the reason we keep returning is the wonderful staff (nuestra familia ). Nunez, Robin, Skinny, Chicken Little, Alexander, Wilkie, Loui [... read more]s, Wow I could go on and on. These folks treat us as family and make us feel special. The staff from the maids, the bar staff, the entertainers as well as the resort manager Alejandro always have time for a smile and a hola. Already looking at dates in November and a trip to Santiago to see winter ball.

Occidental Punta Cana: Lovely resort

This resort is beautiful, clean, family friendly and fun. The beach and pools were welcoming and well maintained. We enjoyed the restaurants and bars and were entertained by the nightly activities. The servers and staff work very hard to ensure you are well fed and the drinks are plentiful.

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Bahia Principe Aquamarine

This is our second time. Resort was even better then in 2019. No Covid virtue signalling or theatrics. The specialty dinning was amazing. Lots of evening activities. A great vacation. Beach was excellent, very minimal seaweed end of March. Service was excellent.

Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana: Fabulous Resort

This resort did not disappoint! The grounds are gorgeous and well maintained, the pool is huge, food was great at the buffet and a la carte restaurants. The staff was amazing at all of the bars and restaurants and our room was cleaned well every day. Everyone was so helpful and friendly. We would be happy to vacation there again!!

Occidental Punta Cana: We didn't go here!!!

This was recommended by Robyn but after careful review we decided that due to the horrible reviews we would choose something else. Not sure why we are being asked to rate it. I can tell you when we had issues she couldn't help us and we were told we had to refer to the hotel and airline.

Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa: Great Resort

The hotel is big but well laid out. We booked a swim out room which was a wonderful experience. The food was excellent and the staff amazing. All spaces, both ours and public areas, was clean. We really enjoyed the Rio restaurant which we went to for a special occasion that we had travelled to celebrate. And the rock band that played were fantastic. We did have a couple of issues. The resort advertises that they have a no reservation system, which is true; however, what it means is that you c [... read more]an only put your name on a waitlist after they open and you could wait for hours before you can get a table. We would have preferred to book a time a day or two before so that we could better plan our day and not end up sitting around waiting to eat. They have smart TVs in the room. Booking a table through that would have been much better. Our second issue was not with the resort but with Air Canada. We went to our assigned meeting with Caroline, the AC rep, and we were the only two people at that meeting. She advised us to be checked out and at the front of the resort by 10:55. We were there in plenty of time (and I was able to prove it because when you check out they write the exact time on your departure ticket), but the transport left without us. We waited for almost an hour before being directed by the resort staff to speak again to the AC rep. When I did so she denied that she had told us 10:55 and also said the transport left at 11:15. She said that the bus would wait no more than 15 minutes but Caroline never mentioned that to us either. She got very annoyed at me and said we would have to catch a taxi at our expense. We did do that, and although rushed we were able to make our flight on time. Caroline’s attitude was appalling and she also made claims that were untrue with respect to what she told us. The resort staff called a taxi for us straight away and were very helpful but we were left soured by Air Canada.

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Okay Resort! Not worth the value!

However the resort is extremely misleading in many categories. It caters to a 40 plus crowd easily and also to the French as well they treat return guests much better then first timers. Those added perks we paid for essentially the extra $300 completely not worth it at all the rooms are run down in the Catalina and Sanoa buildings. The Vintage club is completely underwhelming.Guests at premium level do not receive fruit baskets as per what Transat says in the package. The entertainment I give a  [... read more]1 out of 5. The food is a 3 at best we have done 2a la carte’sso far and the Ocean Grill wasn’t great at all. The Italian place the pasta was good let’s hope the seafood place is decent.The only good thing about the resort is the beach. The only saving part of my trip was booking a city tour through an outside source before leaving for the Dominican. Which we did Wednesday. Honestly if I had the option of leaving 24 hours early without additional costs I absolutely would at this point. I do not believe it is a family friendly resort personally i See almost no children it is mostly older people here. So as someone who is unfortunately stuck here till Monday I can’t wait to leave. I will not be returning and don’t intend on bringing my fiancée and daughter. I will be booking a different resort next time in Puerto Plata. At the end of the day return guests get treated much better and my brother and I feel if you have been here over and over your reviews are just inaccurate.

Grand Sirenis Punta Cana Resort: Mixed Feelings.....

For most of the trip, it was great! Huge shout out to our waitress during breakfast and lunch, Rosa Maria! She made us feel welcome and at home! The sun was shining for the full 7 days! Not a drop of rain to be seen! Couldn't have asked for better weather! The food at the resort is also very good, especially the pizza that they offer each day (but could do with some fine tuning as it can be a bit of a mess with ordering. They did sent someone quickly to fix it, however did not really work well the entire stay. Maids were very courteous when cleaning our room if we were around. Especially on the last day when we had the DND sign on the door, the maid service called to see if we had wanted them to come clean or drop towels off. I thought that was a nice touch. Stay away from the elevator in building 39. My sister and I were stuck in there and no one came, even though the emergency alarm was sounding. Imagine being trapped with someone who is claustrophobic and has panic attacks, in a 3X3 box that smelled like hundreds of folks excrements as the septic was literally outside the building ….. You can paint your own picture there. I did open the door enough to see we were between floors, and then it did start to lower slowly to the next floor. Again I had to pry the door open as it would not open with the button. This elevator incident was reported to the front desk and to our concierge, no one seemed to care. So people, take the stairs!! Even was "invited" to the VIP breakfast that was better if I brought logo's like MC, Visa, AMEX. Oh, and don't forget ID's. Really?! You just found out that we were stuck in the elevator and you push the VIP breakfast and dangle a free trip in front of our faces. He did however offer us (the ladies) a 35 minute spa that he never followed through on. Kind of disappointed of the fact that we have been to this resort several times, loyalty means nothing :(
