Riu Dunamar: Amazing resort

The hotel was great. I found it to be very well kept, The staff worked day and night and provided great and friendly service. My family and I had and excellent experience. I would definitely recommend!

Riu Latino: Very clean and modern design, more of a party vibe, food a bit lacking

Beach/Pools Seaweed was cleared everyday. I was able to go to the beach everyday, but expect there to be a yellow flag. There was a bit of seaweed in the water but nothing crazy. Chairs have to be reserved early in order to get shade. Standard Riu pools, activity pool, two bar pools, quiet pool, and water park. Spent most of my time at one of the bar pools, good shade during the day. Quiet pool was relatively respected although expect some yelling from the adjacent water slide park.  [... read more] Service I had no issues with any of the people that I interacted with. Check-in was relatively quick ~30 minutes from arrival. Bellboy promptly brought our luggage up to the room and we got right into relaxing within an hour of arrival. Ozuna was our main bartender at the pool bar and made a custom drink for us which ended up being our favourite for the trip. Elizabeth at the Velvet lobby bar was great and made okay cocktails, don't expect anything fancy here. The entertainment team was engaging but respective of your space. Food This is where I believe this resort lacks. There is a great selection but the actual quality of the food is not the best, specifically the meats. I regularly had meat dishes which were terrible cuts of meat or mostly fat. I experienced this the most at the steakhouse which was a joke at best. The steak was half fat and they only gave me a measly 3 ribs which I later found in the buffet. I didn't have much fish but the fish I had was good. My ranking for the restaurants is the following: 1. Milan 2. Kulinarium 3. Moctezuma (Buffet) 4. Geisha (Close tie with Buffet) 5. Pepe's Snack Bar 6. Steakhouse (VERY BOTTOM) Rooms Very modern design, looks amazing for the price you pay. Room was regularly cleaned and minifridge was regularly stocked. Some of the towels I received had some stains on them. I don't think I ever got a proper sleep, beds were subpar, and pillows had no fluff to them. You need to grab extra pillows from the closet in order to get somewhat comfortable. Value I paid roughly $1600/pp for 7 days in mid-July for a Partial Oceanview Room (was facing Isla Mujeres). I believe this was average and nothing special. I am open to trying something else the next time I come to Mexico. I believe this would be better suited for large groups of friends or family to party at. Location It took us about an hour to get to our hotel from the airport and we were the first stop. I only went offsite once for an excursion to Isla Mujeres which was a good time albeit a bit rushed. Booking through our Sunwing agent was around $85/pp to go and they took you to snorkel at the underwater museum off the southern shore of the island, provided a mediocre lunch, and gave you around 2 hours free time on the northern part of the island (Playa Norte). Sunwing offers a free shopping trip to Cancun which we didn't use. Other notes This resort is new, looks amazing, and does indeed live up to the photos posted by management. This resort is definitely suited for a group looking to party. I still enjoyed myself and met a variety of people that were there to relax and party. The resort is relatively big and we had to plan trips back to our room to go for lunch if we were in the pool because you couldn't be in a wet swimsuit, this can be avoided if you bring a change of clothes to the pool.

Iberostar Waves Paraiso del Mar: Amazing Resort!

The Tripcentral.ca provided excellent vacation package with reasonable price for us (2 adults + 2 children) in July 2023. Our travel was smooth with no difficulties. Our environmentally-friendly resort is spreading over 400 hectares of sea beach area that is itself a small town with 3 hotels and all the required facilities (many restaurants and cafes) in the heart of the mangrove forest. The resort staff are very friendly and always eager to assist us. Adequate resting shadow-spaces on the beach, with plenty of beach towels, are available to a large number of guests at any time. The white-sandy beach of the resort in July was wonderful with little or no water-floating weeds. It was also well secured by the local police petrolling regularly. Our 2 kids also enjoyed in snorkeling and other programmes of the resort on the beach and free boat rides. The dishes served were very delicious, with varieties - that fit both non-veg and veg people. Interesting programmes of the hotel engage both adults and kids throughout the day - well organized way. The hotel rooms are spacious, with sound air-conditioning system. We got nice walks to reach different places of interest in the resort. However, the dinning places were getting too crowded at the time we visited (July). Most of the rooms in our hotel are not facing sea view. Marketing to get membership of the resort was rigorous and time-consuming for us - we were asked to have 5-star hotel visit and breakfast there, along with visit to golf course and other places in the resort - that did not attract us. Overall, it was a memorable and amazing vacation for all of us.

TRS Yucatan: Great resort , great food, great service !

It was a wonderful resort for our vacation. We enjoyed the food, service and meeting people from all around the world. We had the best bartender at la terraza pool. Alfredo! Would recommend for sure..

Akumal Bay Beach and Spa Resort: Amazing Resort. 5 stars. 100% recommend it.

So, we traveled to Akumal Bay Beach and wellness resort for 7 days in July 2023 as a family of 4, 2 adults and 2 kids aged 5 and 6.5 years old. I would 100% recommend this resort to everyone. We absolutely loved everything about it. The staff were friendly and polite and would go out of their way to make your experience memorable. All greet you with smiles and are helpful. The food is great with options for everyone. On our 7-day trip, we were never disappointed with any meal at the buffet, ev [... read more]en for kids. The beach was good as it wasn't rocky and the kids were able to enjoy it well. The rooms are spacious and we never felt crammed in the room as a family. We had opted for the cheapest room (junior suite) and it came with 2 double beds, a sofa, T.V., a balcony with ocean and pool view with a jacuzzi tub on the balcony, and a spacious closet space with a toilet and shower. The water pressure in the shower head was a hit as usually in even some expensive hotels the shower head seems to be clogged with very slow water pressure. The resort is about 1.5 hours away from the airport which we didn't mind since we had the provision of shuttle service to and from the airport to the resort. We loved every minute spent there and would definitely love to visit them again.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Great vacation

We had a great time staying at the sian ka'an, and would happily go back! The amazing variety of food options at the à la cartes and buffets kept us so full. We loved having the option to access the other Bahia properties. Make sure to do some research prior to choosing which property to stay at, especially if being right on the beach is a top priority. We found the tram system fairly prompt and very reliable. There are absolutely impeccable staff members throughout all of the resort as well. I wish I had known more about the activities happening on the other properties earlier in the trip, so that I could have explored and ventured out even more! Lots to do for next time!

Riu Latino: Great resort

This hotel was very clean, staff always cleaning public areas. Public washrooms ones of the cleanest I’ve seen on a resort. Pools were also very clean. Water slides were amazing, and so much fun. Beautiful beach, but the sand was very hot from the extremely hot weather. We spent a lot of time in the ocean, so refreshing. The bedrooms were very spacious and clean. By day three of complaining, they got it right.( this honestly is the only negative thing). Food was good, no one will ever go hungry, you will always find something you like. All staff were so friendly, but a lot of them didn’t not speak or understand English very well, but they still tried their best to communicate with you. Some even had google translate which was amazing. Oh, another negative was the Michael Jackson show. The worst show. I usually enjoy every Michael Jackson show, but this was terrible. Michael impersonator wore a black track pants with white stripe down side for the entire show. The only move he did well was the moon walk. All other shows were amazing. Manager at the swim up bar was amazing, he went above and beyond to make sure his guests were happy. Making special drinks was also a bonus. Night club needs to change up music, by playing a mixture of music and not just techno. Some Reggae or even salsa music would be nice.

Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya: Horrible Service

Food was repetitive. No AC in the room, claims they’ll come to fix and they didn’t Service was horrendous. The shuttle carts never pick you up they see you standing there to wait and they zoom past you and when you ask them to please take you somewhere they say bluntly no. Waiters/servers horrible… you honestly didn’t want to tip them because they rarely came to ask you for drinks or even pick up the plates. We’d have to serve our own drinks basically, and they’d get mad if we as [... read more]ked for wine or something that they had to get. Hotel staff refuses to help in anything. Very unhappy. They only message to tell you sorry for your experience we’ll communicate with the rest but honestly that’s exactly what they told us in person and our issues didn’t get fixed. Imagine? No AC for a week and fecal residue on our bathroom door! We had to clean it up and we told them please there’s still some left and they never came to clean it or even offered to change rooms. That was disgusting to come to our new room to find someone else’s feces hand prints on the door…

Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya: Feces residue in the room, Horrible service (fakes that they’re doing anything about it)

When we entered the appearance looks very nice and rooms look very spacious. However we had several problems as a family (5 different rooms) 2 rooms had AC issue (they claimed to fix it and it didn’t work) we had no AC for the whole week. And the fan is designed in a very strange way it’s on the side where the couches are instead of the actual bed therefore causing no air flow. 1 room had issues with wifi (they kept telling us there was no problems but the wifi wouldn’t connect)  [... read more] 1 room upon arrival they saw feces residue on the bathroom door, no one came to clean up. 1 room had nothing no soap or anything. Mini bar in room is rarely refilled and the water bottles it’s a big litre one that isn’t cold it’s hot because they leave it out in the room. The service at the buffet was terrible, the servers did not approach you or rarely did. Sometimes we even had horrible looks just because we asked for something like a drink. They wouldn’t pick up our plates, plates would accumulate. The Shuttles… honestly I have never been to a resort where the shuttles refuse to take you and even ignore you. Others would just zoom past you and you’d be “wait! Can I get a ride” and they’d say “no, I have other things to do”. So many shuttles and all of them empty most of the time as they don’t take anyone. The food wasn’t too great as well, every day was repetitive. The housekeeper wasn’t very clean, you can tell the room is still dirty upon arrival and during our stay they would not do changes of towels sometimes and other times the bed wasn’t properly made. Unfortunately, we did not have a good experience. Staff were not friendly and everyone seems frustrated. I do have to say that the restaurant a la carte were good and the service is much better there (would recommend the Mexican and Brazilian). However, the bad part is that when we arrived as soon as we got our room number we were online trying to book and EVERYTHING was booked. We then asked and they said they give priority to the black bracelet members. So, you would get these ridiculous late times like 9:15 pm. We would have to be checking for cancellations to get in earlier. I would not recommend this place and do not plan on returning to this resort. It was unpleasant and by the 3rd day we wanted to go back home and didn’t even want to eat their food (which we never experienced before)

Riu Dunamar: Rio Dunamar was good! Sun Wing has no customer service!

Sun Wing has no empathy toward their client! No respect what so ever! Delayed over 1 full day departing. No explanation no excuse from Sun Wing staff! Return flight was the same, delayed, unable to get any information from Sun Wing! Only able to get AI answering the phone - runaround!!! Trying to get compensation from them - Mechanical issues so they don't have to pay, is their go to excuse!

Barcelo Maya Tropical: Good resort

I recently stayed at this hotel and I was thoroughly impressed with my experience. The staff were incredibly welcoming and accommodating from the moment I arrived. They went above and beyond to ensure that my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. The room itself was spacious, well-appointed, and impeccably clean. I appreciated the attention to detail in the decor and furnishings, which gave the room a luxurious feel. Riu Santa Fe: Great vacation

The resort was amazing! The special room I needed was available upon arrival which was great. Check in was smooth. I am very satisfied with my trip. Riu Sante Fe is a beautiful big resort with lots of amenities.

Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa: A disappointment

Hotel needs updating, no air conditioning in restaurants with 40 degree temperatures. Air conditioned areas reserved for diamond club only. Their desserts were stale and often not replenished. All juices were watered down. Room service was pointless as it took over an hour to arrive at your room. Very disappointed with this Royalton location. The Royalton in Negril, Jamaica was much better.

Secrets Akumal Riviera Maya: Amazing resort!

We had an Amazing 25th Anniversary trip at this resort! We stayed 9 nights at this beautiful resort and we loved everything about it! The resort is clean and so beautiful that we even booked an anniversary photoshoot on our anniversary. The beach is also beautiful on the Secrets property and it is always being cleaned so there’s not much seaweed during the day. We snorkelled right out front and saw stingrays, lots of fish, starfish, and a turtle. We also paid to go to the turtle sanctuary next [... read more] door to see more turtles and we saw 5! The food was amazing everywhere but we ate at the French and the Italian restaurants for most of our stay because we loved the romantic ambiance and the piano player who played there every night. The most we waited for a table was about 30min. The food on the beach (we had quesadillas, burgers, pizza) was so good (maybe share the quesadillas since they are huge!). The service by absolutely every staff member was outstanding! We usually take note of our favourites but honestly, every staff member was our favourite. They even made sure to say hi to us every time we walked by and they served us like kings and queens. Room service was also fantastic and we didn’t find the wait long at all (unlike some of the other resorts we have stayed at). Honestly, this resort is the best one we have stayed at in our opinion (and we have stayed at over 15 resorts in Mexico). If we had to criticize one thing, it is that we booked an ocean view room but the view of the ocean is more of a partial view. We asked for an upgrade but it would have cost us 300$ US per night so we didn’t bother. We were top floor in building 9 which was close to the restaurants and the view was still nice. We can’t wait to return to this resort!

Barcelo Maya Caribe: Amazing Resort

We cannot say enough good things about the Maya Barcelo Caribe. From the moment we arrived until we left, we had a great time. The service was great, the food was great, the beaches were great, the weather was phenomenal. Many things we probably did not get to do as the property is hug and we were discovering new things daily. Very clean and well maintained. We will definitely be visiting again.

Riu Palace Mexico: Riu palace mecico

Hi Kevin its Mike and Laura to tell you sbout trip to the Riu Palace in Mexico. To start the experience was great the staff very friendly ther we're always cleaning somewhere on the resort which was great the food was outstanding always had a variety at the three meal sittings never wemt hungry we would consider this resort again. There was a little rain the odd time but didn't last long just a few minutes thanks for helping us out with our travel plans hope to do business with you again.

Riu Palace Costa Mujeres: RIU-PCM

It is a RIU 5 star establishment... but it is nowhere. It took 1-1/2 hour to get there and the same back to the airport. Everything is perfect all the services, food, beach etc. But next time I'll go to RIU Palace Maya Riviera. It is also 5 star. That is only 15 minutes walk to Playa del Carmen. Because of this I would not recommend this RIU...

Ventus Ha at Marina El Cid: Nice resort except the kids club

All was nice, food, service, all the staff except kids club they were very un patient with parents and kids they want perfect kids to baby set.................... Also beach was better in Cancun The rest of staff were nice

Riu Santa Fe: Beautiful place

This is was 1 of the most beautiful places I have ever been to. The staff was great, they were always cleaning something, everyone there had a smile on their faces. The bathroom had lots of water, the fridge was stocked daily. The food was good, the sand on the beach was incredible, I really have zero negative things to say about this resort.

Paradisus Playa del Carmen: Amazing trip

The Paradisus was a great vacation. Our kids loved the water park and pirate ship and the grounds were extremely clean and well kept. The alcohol selection is next level and the restaurants were really good. The buffet was just ok nothing special. The restaurants made up for it. There were tons of activities for the kids to do as well and nightly entertainment for them. Overall we were very satisfied.
